Whoreville: Freedom for Freelancers

Whoreville was created for freelance escorts, by freelance escorts. After years of working the mean streets of SL, a team of creative minds came up with a whole list of things they didn't like about the places we have been used to working, versus what we would like to see at a place for freelancers to use.

The result is Whoreville. No spam, no bots, no landing points pushing you away, no staff forcing you to log into tip jars or move or...anything. No mall, no club. Just a no-nonsense, glowing, sexy build, the windlight carefully selected to set off the mood, gently set by sexy sounds in the background. Unique dance vitrines and street corners animated to have you wiggling, beckoning, and calling to your client to have their way with you in one of the many public or private places we have available for you to use..

We believe freelance escorts are their own bosses, and we respect them - Whoreville reflects that.

The History Behind Three Common Superstitions by Linda Lauren

We often go through the day with superstitions guiding us, even when we don’t realize they are doing so. Avoiding that ladder, crack, or black cat is an every day occurrence, and if we add Friday the 13th to the list, we get a lot of paranoia unfairly pointed to that day of the week.

Many of my clients ask me what my belief system is regarding superstitions. I believe they were invented to strike fear into people in order to have the power to control them.

Over the years, the list has changed but there are always a few standouts and I’m going to give my impressions on three common superstitions:

A broken mirror gives you seven years of bad luck.
This one dates back to ancient Greece. Fortunes were told by consulting “mirror seers” who evaluated the reflections of their clients. The mirror was then dipped into a bowl of water. If the water distorted the mirror, it was believed the person was sick and would have poor luck. Later, the Romans added seven years to the bad fortune because they alleged that health changed in cycles of seven years.

Make a wish on a wishbone and it will come true.
This may have originated in Rome during the first-century because they believed it was good luck to break a wishbone. The tradition was to fight over the dried wishbones and when they would break, the person with the largest piece of bone would be granted their wish.

Hang a horseshoe on the door to bring good luck.
Some people believe that to bring good luck you should hang a horseshoe on the back of the bedroom door with its ends pointing up. The meaning comes from the fact that a horseshoe has seven holes, which is considered to be a lucky number in numerology, It is also made of iron which was thought to help ward off spirits that may haunt your dreams.

There are many more, too numerous to mention. I would advise not taking any superstitions seriously. Doing so will only hold you back from being the best you can be because they instill insecurity and they play on our anxieties of life and death. It would be healthier to smile and see the humor in them. Taking the lighthearted approach is the best approach.

LGBT Lifestyle and Support Groups In SL – Camury Reporting

Most people have little knowledge and a lot of misinformation about the lives of gays, lesbians, bisexuals and transgender. Homosexuality is often mentioned in the negative form, with stereotypes and prejudice, or it is considered something strange and dangerous. However, as more and more homosexuals are openly talking of their lives, this situation has been transformed. Over time, the negative attitudes will change and people will feel more safe and comfortable around others, regardless of sexual orientation.
What is important to know is that the people of the LGBT community have a normal life, like anyone, gay or straight. They spend their time with work, shopping, free time, like everyone else.
LGBT is the acronym for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transsexual and Transgender. This acronym is used to identify all minority sexual orientations and different gender identity manifestations of designated sex at birth.
In Second Life you can find many friendly LGBT places, to go out and meet people of this community. They have, islands, beaches, bathrooms, clubs with live DJs, various fun areas to explore and great variety of services dedicated to this community.

Many support groups address the LGBT community in Second Life:
The Transgender Lounge is a nonprofit organization that supports the LGBT community, based on Second Life. The organization holds events that are advertised on the world through the group, on twitter and listed in Google Calendar shared by group members.

The Gay Archipelago is a Second Life association of LGBT. The archipelago is located in an international zone of Second Life which consists of 148 sims that share the traffic. The LGBT community who enters Second Life may find in the region a place of welcome, guidance and help. Over there individuals can live in harmony, shopping, find services, attend parties and get information on destinations targeted to your lifestyle. The Gay Archipelago coordinates activities and events on all the region, and provides an information center for all SL LGBT residents.
You can contact the leadership team in the virtual world or through the website:

Support for Healing is a real world organization sponsoring an online forum for people with mental health problems, depression, life problems, and other similar issues. They have also their own island in Second Life where several groups routinely and regularly meet. Visit the island to pick up a copy of the newsletter and meeting schedule.

For those who are looking for more LGBT places in the virtual world of Second Life, a good tip is to consult the guide of destinations. There you can see a list with a huge variety of options.
Have fun!! independently of you sexual orientation!

SPOTLIGHT ON COSMOS MASTER-A Universe within Worlds- Interview with creators NAGA LIONHEART & ALDUOUS MCBURLINGTON

Set to Launch on February 23, 2016, Cosmos Master is a unique (MMO RTS RCE RPG) universe within Second Life where multiplayers can engage in battle, mercenary management, crafting and simple strategy.  Players will interact within a vast universe that is the Cosmos; this includes gathering resources from planets. You can also hire and order mercenaries to gather resources for you, level troops as well as monitoring and maintaining health, fuel and pvp. Players can make real money by selling items they produce and put on the Galactic Trade (marketplace).

Creators Alduous McBurglinton  and Naga Lionheart

We caught up with creator Naga Lionheart & Alduous McBurlington to learn more about Cosmos Master.

Naga Lionheart
SLE: Cosmos Master is set to launch on February 23, 2016 at 3pm SLT. Can you give our readers some background on what you do and the overall objective of this new RPG?

Naga: We wanted to give SL citizens a FUN game that they can earn lindens; and a solution for SIM Owners to get more traffic at a lower cost.

SLE: That sounds like a fun incentive! To begin, players have to attach a HUD and Spaceship. It might seem overwhelming for a beginner. Can you walk us through  their functions?

Alduous

Ald: Well, the HUD is just like any other standalone MMO-RPG. You got your pages where you can manage your technologies (talents), travel to randomized sims that provide resources to mine from, and interface with the trading system. It's also used for displaying your target's info.

The ship is an interesting dynamic; probably the closest thing to compare it to would be a player-character. Each ship's experience points, fuel, inventory and build are unique to itself. Only technologies and level are constant between ships.

SLE: I met with Naga and got my HUD and Spaceship. I noticed Health and Fuel are important components to monitor during player engagement. Can you tell our readers what causes fuel and health loss and how it can be repaired?

Ald: It's a pretty simple concept really. Health, also known as build, is increased by repairing with the ship itself. Inside the ship are nanites, which allow the player to repair at the cost of fuel. Naturally you can perform combat so this is a pretty simple mechanic.

SLE: Sounds simple enough.  Players are able to attack each other’s ships. How can they protect themselves so it doesn’t cause too much fuel and health loss?

Ald: And then there's cloaking. Cloaking allows two major functions for this version: the first being the ability to stay hidden and immune to all attacks while afk or mining, and the second is as a means to accurately 'dodge' an enemy's incoming attack.

SLE: I like that feature for denfense.  So, mining and gathering resources is an important part in Cosmos Master because it helps players reach various levels. Can you explain the different types of resources that can be found and what they do?

Ald: Because the game is still in ALPHA version to start, there will only be one resource and one material. A material, by our definition, is just a way of referring to a refined resource. Raw Xendorium, the first and only for the time being, is the resource that players may accumulate, refine, and/or sell to us or other players through the Stockpile game-object.

SLE:  I like that players mine for resources. Players also can create their own resources and sell them on the Galactic Trade (marketplace). Can you give our readers some examples of things that can be made, sold or bought?

Ald: In ALPHA there will only be the two that I mentioned. However since we will always buy resources, and likewise provide materials, there will always be a source and rough estimate as to the variable market costs of these products. Since fuel is simply Refined Xendorium, the player can just buy their energy directly from us.

SLE: Are there special incentives given to the highest level players?

Ald: We went out of the way for this one. Not only is there no level cap (yes, you heard that right), but players are indefinitely able to invest those levels into technologies. Technologies, able to customize the player experience drastically, offers a huge range of options for you to make your own.

SLE: Wow so options are limitless. I ca’t wait to see what players come up with.  Right now Cosmos Masters is in INDEV, are you still accepting players to test the system?

Ald: We are in fact in open-INDEV as we speak, until the 23rd when we officially launch all game-objects to the public. At this time and forward, anyone can play, free of charge.

SLE: Are there any rules or tips you’d like to share with players before they begin Cosmos Master?

Ald: The only rule is not to exploit the system, if making that rule does anything at all. We are an incredibly small indie team working to bring everybody the best possible gaming for the best price or free.  We just ask that any serious errors the player encounters be reported to one of our Customer Service Reps, so that we can keep providing this game and service to the public. And there'll be a reward if you do.

SLE: It sounds like you have created an interesting new type of Interactive Role Play and I wish you the best of luck!  Is there anything else you would like to share with our readers?

Ald: Come try it out and see why Cosmos Master really IS the next best thing in Second Life!
Naga:  I would like to tell readers to stay in SL. It is not dying. New ideas like Cosmos Master is bringing the fun back into Second Life!

Art Galleries in Second Life- Tea Couturier Reporting…

Just as in RL, Second Life has a very busy and diverse art community. There are a lot of galleries in SL which cater to every ones taste of contemporary to modern art. Here are just a few I have found and feel are worth visiting.

Dreamscapes Art Gallery
This is not only an Art Gallery but also a Home & Garden Designs store all created by Carlotta Ceawlin. All the artwork is original and can be found dotted all around the store which is also a house. Art work can also be found outside. Each piece can be purchased for yourself or as a gift. I feel this is a cool way to showcase art. You can also find her work on SL Marketplace.

Art & Gallery at Studio 33
This gallery states, “No photography of created works is allowed”
Which I would think would go for any gallery you attend in SL. This gallery is spread out across the sim and to see each different pieces of artwork there is a TP station. Simply click on it and a menu pops up listing all the areas of artwork which is exhibiting at the gallery.  A good place to start would be the main gallery. This section exhibited beautiful art. The main gallery is not a large section but I feel is a perfect point to start.

Art Gallery Route 7
The Art Gallery Route 7 is set on four floors. All artwork displayed is done by RL artists.  The current artists being featured are; Ronin1 Shippe ,Instincta van Helsinki, John Bleriot,Aurora, Mycano , Masako, Safi Farspire, Uleria Caramel, Ohsolemio , Angyel  , Taddeus Adagio , Jon Chen , Okwaho Euler , Judy Lynn India . Kisla Arkright. , Sisi Biedermann, Leaf Quar , Roxie Warwillow , Freya Merryman, SkyBlue Earthboy , Fae Varriale, Lenz Bavarro , Vangogh Rembranch  , Littleone Aries , ArtWolf Eternal, Fleur Augur Landar ,  Moondrifth Tomorrow and Stem van Helsinki.

At the moment they are concentrating on digital art but also have pieces with mixed media, acrylics, oils, water color, inks, etc.
They also use a simple camera, no special lenses, tricks or speeds, to capture such amazing images. The gallery cannot be viewed in just one day so it is worth taking your time and exploring.

Crossworlds Gallery - Museum of Art and Culture
At Crossworlds Gallery you will find paintings, sculptures, fine art, acrylics, water color, ink, drawing, wall art, reactive art, fractal, digital, real art, SL art, sketches and photos from a variety of artists.
The gallery is in the sky and has 7 floors. You will find artist such as:
1st floor: Feathers Boa, Scottius Polke, pixivor allen, Hechos, Consuela Caldwell
2nd floor: MiraBelle artist, Walt Ireton, Sabbian Paine, Molly Bloom
3rd floor: Sil Brandi, Monroe Snook, Olimpia Peco, Sheba Blitz

This gallery it is worth taking your time and enjoying the artwork as there is a lot to see and enjoy.

This is just a few of the many Art Galleries in SL to explore. So, if you are an art enthusiast you will enjoy this selection. If you find anymore worth noting, please share them in the comment box below!

Oldest Businesses/Venues in Second Life- Why Are They So Successful? – Camury Reporting

Second Life has an active economy and a large exchange movement with the use of their domestic currency, the Linden dollar (L$). Lindens can be used to buy, sell, rent or make land trade or purchase and sale of goods and services among users.
Second life residents perform thousands of virtual transactions per day. Those include the purchase of buildings, vehicles, equipment of all kinds, animations, clothing, skin, hair, jewelry, plants, pets, and works of art. Residents can also profit from the rent of land or real estate. Many survive by offering a wide range of services. Those services include "camping", wage labor, business management, entertainment and creation of custom content (which can be divided into six categories: building, texturing, scripting, animation, art direction, as well as the position of producer / financier from the project)
Some residents can have great success in their investments in the virtual world, selling virtual goods or providing services. Business owners with a good marketing strategy can even keep their business running for a long time.

Here are some examples of successful businesses in Second Life:

Fashion
Everyone wants to keep their avatars up to date with the current fashion trends. To meet the high demand for fashion items, SL has more a large variety stores that provide a huge range of products.

The Designer Circle is a bi-weekly fashion event since 2010. It is a platform for SL designers that offers, for a limited time, several items from each designer. The secret of their success this in addition to their marketing strategy is the affordable price of the products- between 50L- 100L, combined with the quality of products and the latest trends in fashion and clothing.
URL:

Venues
Old Lar's House was established in 2009, evolving into Old Lar's Warehouse, and now, Old Lar's Naughty Twinz. It has become a popular club in Second Life. The secret of its success is the unique energetic atmosphere, provided by the beautiful and sexy dancers. They offer visitors exquisite eye-candy for customers and remove items of clothing-often with lusciously written text for tips. The club also features live DJs 24/7 who play the best mix of rock and other genres for all tastes.

Skin & Shape
Established in 2005, Adam n Eve offers a wide selection of male and female skins as well as hair, and Fashion. Attentive to the needs of the market, which is essential for business success, the store creates mesh avatars (head and body), with good quality and competitive prices. The product, price and attractiveness, are the magic ingredients for the store’s continued success in Second Life for many years.

Animations
Starting in Second Life in 2011, Humanoid is a project of talented German artists and media professionals who use technology to give movement to the Second Life avatars.
The secret of the success of this project is precisely the creativity, innovation and the use of advanced technology to offer a high quality product, satisfying the demand of the consumer market in Second Life.

Freebie Spot
I was in second life since 2007, searching for freebies and Freebie Galaxy was there. This Store is a mega complex of freebies that has fifteen floors! The secret of its success, especially among newcomers to the SL, is quality and quantity with more than 3,000 freebies and dollarbies items of good quality that are offered to SL new residents looking for free things to have fun and upgrade their look.

Currently, in addition to a good product or service, businesses need to have a good marketing plan, promote themselves in the media, social networks and blogs is the key to success. This has fundamental importance for those who want to be prosperous in SL and last in such a competitive atmosphere.

Media
The SL Enquirer

Don’t forget!!! An informative press release to spread the news of your business is always a good start. Contact the SL Enquirer and we will help give you the exposure you need to get your business known.  Did we mention we are the longest running independently owned News Source in Second Life, established in 2005, with over 10 years of media experience?

HOW JAE SANDS INSPIRED THE BUILDING OF THE HOLLYWOOD SQUARE GARDEN.

THE GRAND OPENING OF ORIGEN’S HOLLYWODD SQUARE GARDEN
http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/0%200%20Acajou/128/25/2001

Two big days: Feb. 20th and 21st.
Feb 20, 6pm- 8pm SLT; Harry Frychester and Pippa Exonar.
Feb. 21st, 6pm - 8pm SLT, Jae Sands and The Rolling Stones Tribute.

Origen explains how Jae Sands inspired the building of the Hollywood Square Garden: “Well, it started a couple of months ago at a meeting Jae and I had in my office. I had hired Jae a few weeks earlier to perform on a regular basis in our 6pm SLT Sunday night spot. He has not disappointed. He sounds like a mature Frank Sinatra down to Sinatra’s NY attitude. Every week more people come to know and love his performances. I had asked Jae to come up with some big ideas as to what he wanted to do at The Hollywood Venues. At that meeting he shared a really big idea with me, but at that moment even he did not know how big it would get; neither did I.

“Jae told me about a performance that Sinatra gave in 1974 at The Madison Square Garden. The show had been televised and the soundtrack released as an album. He shared how this performance, called The Main Event,” had grown over the years to become an icon in Frank Sinatra’s history.  Jae’s idea was to put a boxing ring in the middle of The Bowl’s large dance floor and perform Sinatra’s show there, live; just as Sinatra had performed it in a boxing ring at Madison Square Garden. I liked the idea, I liked Jae’s thinking of something this big. I didn’t like the idea of doing it in The Bowl. I told Jae, ‘No! We are not going to put a boxing ring in the middle of The Bowl; we are going to build Madison Square Garden instead.’

“At first I thought that I could put something together myself; creating a venue for a one-time performance. I soon figured out that I was out of my depth. A couple of days later I met builder and creator Jennifer Steele at a party given by Robin Palmer. As Jennifer and I talked, we both got more and more excited about the project. After Jennifer said that she had to do this build, we looked at some plans and she began work on what may be one of the most ambitious builds in second life.

“I originally planned to put the whole thing on half a region; but after it was done it became obvious this building deserved to be on the whole region.

“Jae’s performance will now take place in one of the larger single building creations in Second Life, The Hollywood Square Garden, on Sunday Feb 21st at 6pm SLT.”

Origen encourages people to use the above Slurl and stop by to see the venue and then come hear Jae perform Frank Sinatra’s show, “The Main Event.”
