The SL Enquirer Media Center is newly revamped and ready to welcome visitors. It is not what you would expect from a Newspaper office, it is so much more. The SL Enquirer is still first and foremost all about delivering SL news and stories, and the typewriters will still ticking away and frantic reporters will still be running around chasing stories but the media center is all about you and offering you our loyal readers and advertisers an added experience in SL.  We welcome you to Mont Flueri on the Seychelles Isles estate. The Sim is surrounded by waterways on all sides and has a dock for sailors who are passing by. With a small Venetian town feel lined with shops neatly set along a freshly paved sidewalk, the atmosphere is quiet and relaxing. It is the perfect place to sit at the outdoor café with friends and discuss the latest news, browse our advertiser’s shops or visit the SLE Galleria which features Painting with Pastels artwork hand painted by PrinceFrantz.

But don’t stop there! Take the steps down on to the beach where food, refreshments and entertainment awaits you. The beach is a fun place to play, dance or just relax on the loungers overlooking the water. For couples and general socializing activities, SLE offers a Tiki Bar and a free movie screen with a great selection of titles to choose from. Note from Lanai Jarrico

As we begin a new year and look back at the past, we should remember that each and every experience we have had, shapes who we are and what we will become in the future. People enter our lives at different times in our journey with a purpose to remind us that our differences teach us and helps  make us all unique. We should take the good with the bad and learn from it. Forgive the negatives, it helps us move forward while the positives add substance to our lives. Take a moment to reflect on the past year and then store it in your box of memories, file it away to make room for new memories. Together we all move forward as time waits for no one. Remember this and step forward into 2015. I look forward to what news it will bring.

May you all have a safe and happy new year.

SLE’s Masquerade Ball 2013 was a Blast!- Lanai Jarrico Reporting...

Photo taken by Duh Ghost
At 6 pm slt, Guest started to arrive dressed in their most elegant attire, hidden behind a mask. The Phantom of the Opera Theme song playing in the background as SLE’s  Jenna Odisark, Silky Soulstar and Justice Brentley greeted guests and invited them to enter the drawing and sign the guestbook. Festivities kicked off with a very wordy speech by yours truly and a toast.  The curtain was raised and DJ Weebs took over the airwaves with an assortment a music and commentary fitting to the theme. Little did the crowd know they were the first to break in the new Le Chat Noir Venue at the SL Enquirer and they did a great job of it!

It was amazing to look around the Ball and see so many big names, familiar and new faces all in one concentration.  The hosts kept busy tending to the crowd as I got lost in the crowd greeting everyone.  From guessing games to drawings, the venue was full of activity but the best part was being surrounded by so many amazing and creative people. I had a fabulous time and according to the guestbook so did many others!  Thank you all for attending SLE’s Masquerade Ball 2013, I look forward to seeing you again!

Designers, Be a Part of Be Hunted's Does My Butt Look Fat in This Hunt - Shon Charisma Reporting…

It's the question that every man fears. You know the one. The one the girlfriend or wifey asks while trying on a new outfit: Honey, does my butt look fat in this?

For the first time ever, thanks to Earth Nirvana-Charisma and Be Hunted events, the question can now have the word FUN attached to it, and designers can take part in that fun, too!

The SL Experience through My Friend's Eyes - Shon Charisma reporting...

Every resident of Second Life experiences it differently. It's the beauty of the sluniverse, a vast place full of wonderful, engaging, unique goings on. AND the ability to create the life and space and places you might want to be a part of. My experience has been a fully-lived one that has brought me closer to my faith, that has expanded my family (even into first life), that has helped me recapture my love of video and storytelling, that has educated me on research interests of mine (race, online spaces, and identity), and that has brought me my wonderfully-awesome SL mate (love you, Earth!).

Recently, I snagged a dear friend of mine, Sweetz Fierenza [check her out on Facebook], and talked to her about her experiences in-world. She's been in-world a year longer than me, 4.5 years, and that time has shown that many of the experiences found in-world mirror what's experienced in first life.

SL Expert or SL Addict? Celebrating 8 Years in Second Life- Lanai Jarrico Reporting…

Entering Second Life in May of 2005 was nothing like it is today. Everywhere I looked, there were smut shops and escorts working every street corner.  Online relationships and drama were plenty while voice chat was nonexistent, letting many gender imposters get away with “catfishing” before the term became mainstream.

Many avies were amateur strippers working the pole or shamelessly handing out lap dances for lindens used to save up for a small rental property to call home. Real estate was popular then, just as it is now, but there were more slum lords and greedy land barons that bought land at a low price, altered it and turned around and sold it for an obscene amount just for high profits. Land bots were also an annoyance that would do a sweep of land and buy up everything. It seemed like a scavenger invasion of griefers and Alts more than a grid of opportunity and creativity for decent professionals or those with artistic skills like it is today.
Freebie lots and small shops bombarded the grid and beta testers were just wrapping up. Banks, Casinos and Gambling were popular and noobies were everywhere!  There were also more Linden workers on the grid until many of their jobs were slashed.

SLE Relaunch Party Update! - Annette Wilder Reporting from Wilder PR

If you missed it then you really missed something special. The SLE Relaunch Party was an amazing experience. The mood was right, the people who attended were all so happy to be there and be part of such an astronomical event. To tp in, walk the red carpet, and see a sea of people wearing all white was what it must feel like to attend a Puff Daddy all white event. It felt so good to see such a large turnout and I could not think of a better person who deserved that huge show of love from the public other than Lanai Jarrico. She has been in SL for many years and has done nothing but support Wilder PR and so many other businesses.

SLE/PPM Merger Takes a Turn in a New Direction. Lanai Jarrico Reporting...

Company mergers whether in our real world or in a virtual one, can be complex with many choices to make. The decision makers have to ask themselves some important questions to ensure working or merging with another business or entity is the right thing to do. Is the reputation of the company in good standing with the public? Do both parties have a common goal and can commit to the job requirements, its employees and the community. Some projects, partnership and mergers work, others fall through and new plans are implemented to ensure productivity and positive growth. That is the ultimate goal.

On May 14, 2012 The SL Enquirer announced a merger between Press Pass media; a neutral media network consisting of over 31 media sources and The SL Enquirer; Second Life’s longest running independently owned newspaper. Due to feedback from our members, we are making some small but important modifications to the plans.

Into the Cauldron- Luc Fray Reporting...

[Hera and Zeus devotional]

Some weeks ago, I had accidentally come across the school Sacred Cauldron on SL search. The description interested me as it stated that it is a virtual pagan academy. Curious, I asked my editor if I could cover a story on it. When I finally got the go signal, I went on to request a short interview on Sacred Cauldron's Dean, Dean Belladonna Laveau, and two of the school's students,  Tea Tephi and Sapphire Chaosus.

Modeling in Second Life- Pandora Drezelan Reporting...

Being a model in Second Life can be a very glamorous lifestyle, but it also involves hard work, dedication, and compromise. Whether you are an experienced or a new and aspiring model, you must learn to be able to accept constructive criticism and sometimes rejection, depending on the situation.

Mermaids In Second Life -- Pandora Drezelan Reporting

One of the beauties of Second Life is that you can be whoever or whatever you choose to be, the styles of avatars are almost unimaginable and the list is endless from human, vampire, demon, etc.--the choice is yours.

And then there are mermaids, an amazing aquatic and mythological species with a human form and the tail of a fish, truly graceful and amazing. "Mermaid" is a mixture of two words, mer the French word for "sea", and maid, being a young woman.

Do You Need Lindens? -- NemzKat Resident Reporting

Podex Bank is the cheapest Linden Exchange in Second Life; it is even cheaper than Linden Labs.

Ozimal Bunnies – 2 Years On and Still Hopping! -- EDD Graycloud Reporting

Two years after its release, Ozimals bunnies continue to hop among the SL community. After more than 6000 plus bunnies and nests in total, I reflect upon some if its finer points and why I still hold on to some of my prized 11-prim pets as many move on to other virtual prim pets and interests.

Inside the World of Relay for Life - Part Two -- Coco Lierfatte Reporting

This is a continuation of yesterday’s piece on Relay for Life. It was difficult to write about such a wonderful organization (and the wonderful people a part of RFL) in just one article. I had the pleasure to sit down and talk with a few Relay for Life veterans to learn about their joining of RFL and how the organization has impacted their lives.
