Embracing The Metaverse™

Most readers of the SL Enquirer already know that I live and work the same business in real life as I do in Second Life.  I am a fourth generation psychic medium with a practice of over forty years.   My real life (RL) business is called Linda Lauren’s Embracing the Universe, hence this columns title “Embracing The Metaverse ™,” to further embrace the virtual community.

Each column will be different and cover an array of topics, products, people and wisdom to share about Second Life and the possible connections to real life.  Feel free to email me questions or request possible SL interviews to Linda@LindaLauren.com

PARKTOWN ZOO - THE NICEST PLACE FOR A DATE..OR IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN – A girls guide by Marriellaanna

What could be more romantic I ask you, than a visit to the Zoo? Especially In those early days of tentative courtship where you are trying to work out if your intended is trying to get into your panties or if he is more interested in you and spending time in your company. A visit to the zoo can be the most romantic of occasions and most telling too as my recent date proved. There is something endearing and bonding about holding hands and wandering around lost in love, past incarcerated animals, so if you are searching for the ideal date and want to give him the ideal excuse to protect you from the man eating Tigers,  take him down  to Parktown zoo.

DST News: Turn those clocks back one hour at 2 am on Sunday, November 4th

wikipedia DST chart, the free encyclopedia

What is daylight savings all about?
Daylight saving time (DST) was an idea created by George Vernon Hudson in 1895. The sole purpose was to benefit social and sport events, retailers, as well as other activities with more daylight after work hours. This change in time makes the early morning hours darker but doesn't seem to cause issues with daily life unless you are a night owl, vampire or hermit and dislike that extra light.

It is purposely schheduled for 2 am across the United States and other regions in each time zone so that it doesnt interfere with daytime activities, work, church and school. (unless you work the graveyard shift)

Please note: residents of Arizona, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, American Samoa, Guam, and the Northern Marianas Islands won't need to change their clocks this weekend. see chart.

FASHION: Pimp Your Avatar - Pandora Drezelan Reporting...

Creating Your Second Life Avatar

When you first sign up for Second Life you will have a choice of standard avatars to choose from. Let’s assume that you choose a human avatar and then go on to entering the virtual world of Second Life.
Your ‘virtual you’ will be very basic and NOOBY to begin with and it is up to you to make your avatar look the way you want it to and to improve it’s style therefore making it unique.
I have seen many avatars in Second Life who despite the fact that they are years older than me still have a NOOBY appearance and clearly have done little or nothing to improve the appearance of their avatar.
Personally it doesn’t bother me if someone wants to live their entire Second Life as a NOOB however this is my set of guidelines of changes that people can make to their avatar if they wish to.
Not everyone can afford to spend real life money in Second Life and I will address that also for those of you who need a few freebies.

SLBR News: Live From New York Bill Kaye Reporting...

Hurricane Sandy battered the New York metro area and much of the Northeast with all the fury that weather reports predicted. Thus far, the storm has claimed 9 lives in my borough alone.
Here on Staten Island, wind gusts exceeded 70 mph. The 800 mile-wide hurricane rattled windows, tossed trees and pounded residents with storm surges. Downed trees, power outages and flooding have affected most of the borough.

What's Hot for Fall? CeciliaRosalie Resident Reporting...

From the beginning the title itself brings about the ETERNAL subject, which is important for every woman: New season, New fashion, New trends.

When new seasons arrive, all the magazines are full of articles about fashion trends and catalogues. What makes this article different is that is not just a catalogue or a list with nothing else to say. We will have a closer look on what's in fall fashion; the color pallet, and several styles.

Let's start with colors this fall.  Keep your eyes on these pantone shades: French Roast, a rich brown hue; Honey Gold, a burnished yellow hue; Pink Flambé, a vibrant pink hue; Tangerine Tango, a retro orange hue; Ultramarine Green, a cool blue-green hue; Bright Chartreuse, a cool yellow-green hue; Olympian Blue, a patriotic blue hue; Titanium, a cool gray hue; Rhapsody, a grayed-down purple hue; and Rose Smoke, a veiled rose hue.

Now that we have got the main idea about the dominant hues, we can move on to the specific and unique clothing styles which will be worn this fall.

A song bird of note

 By wish813 Resident

Out of Southport, NC comes AMForte Clarity with a sound that is very down to earth and welcoming to those who are just beginning to experience her music.

With songs such as "Concrete" and "With You and Me", AMForte has the tendency in her material to express a warm and vibrant array of lyrical notions that tell stories of a hopeless romantic. The other side to the tail is the quick and up-beat personality of AMForte, expressing herself with a blunt facade as she inquires about her recently failed relationship in a song titled "Are You Happy Now."

The SL Enquirer recently caught up with AMForte for an exchange of questions and answers; the song-writer had this to say:
