Fashion Spotlight on Rebecka Ford- CeciliaRosalie Reporting…

Most of my friends and readers of SLE know that I am addicted to fashion. I am one of those people who when I see something I like, I stop others and say “Hi I LOVE the outfit could you tell me where you got it?”
Recently, during my usual shopping spree, I ran into Rebecka Ford (xromanticthug), she is a fashion icon so I couldn’t resist getting details about her and her stylish outfit.

Interview:
CeciliaRosalie: Hello there Rebecka, how are you?

Rebecka Ford (xromanticthug): hello, good, how are you?

CeciliaRosalie: Fine also, you look stunning as always! Would you like to join me for a coffee?

Rebecka Ford (xromanticthug) : So do you, and yes with pleasure!

CeciliaRosalie : So Rebecka, would you like to share some details on this fascinating outfit with our readers?

Rebecka Ford (xromanticthug): I’d love to :D

CeciliaRosalie : What do you like most? Complete sets or mix & match outfits?

Rebecka Ford (xromanticthug): Mix & match outfits allow more creativity I think.

CeciliaRosalie : so is this mix and match?

Rebecka Ford (xromanticthug): yes, I'm wearing 'tie side crop tank' by Dollle, 'amaryllis' shoes by Glamistry, leather pants from Erratic. As for the accessories, black sunglasses from Rowne and a necklace 'the angel key necklace' by Kosh.

CeciliaRosalie: Was it easy to buy each item separately and make them into this outstanding outfit? To be honest I always have a hard time when mixing and matching items.

Rebecka Ford (xromanticthug): Actually, when I shop, I don't have in mind the final outfit. Shopping for me it's getting what I like and only after I start mixing and matching. I think it's easier in this manner to mix everything.

CeciliaRosalie: Supposing you were to name your outfit how would you name it? What do you think makes it fashionable?

Rebecka Ford (xromanticthug): I don't know how different it is, but I think what makes it fashionable is the combination of elegant with a sense of casual. I always try putting comfortable things on, but that can still make me look like I'm ready for anything. As for the name…I would name it Alice in Wonderland since it's nothing like it.

CeciliaRosalie: Thank for these useful stylying tips!!! Ladies will absolutely love them :D
Moving on, I’d like to know what moved you to buy each of these items, Did you considered the color, how good it fits or the cost?

Rebecka Ford (xromanticthug): Everything you've said. But most of the time it's just the impact. I am referring to the first impression. Sometimes I just see something and just feel like taking it, it's like they are just screaming 'take me'. I don't always take time thinking about the color and the way it goes. I even made some mistakes of buying without demo.

CeciliaRosalie: This certainly is not the case. Thank you for sharing your fashion sense.  Rebecka, it was nice meeting you!

Rebecka Ford (xromanticthug): Nice to meet you too!!

Le Cirque De Nuit at Idle Rogue- Debby Sharma Reporting...

Photographer - ToySoldier Thor

It was only about two months back, that I wrote about this awesome group as my debut article in “Cultured The Magazine”. So, when I got the chance to see the show live, I could not resist, but grabbed this opportunity. The initiative of Cherryblonde Scribe took about a year to finally realize it. A year back on April 6th, 2014, Second Life saw the first glimpse of Le Cirque de Nuit. A show which would be remembered even after it was over. The show was later performed on April 6th, 19th, July 26th in the year 2014. The shows this year were based on the original production with some casting changes, new acts and updates.

Idle Rogue Productions presented Le Cirque de Nuit, this year from April 3rd to April 5th 2015, is loosely based on the book, “The Night Circus” by Erin Morgenstern. This book was recommended by a friend of Cherryblonde Scribe, Gloriana Maerten, who also happens to be the sim designer.

Photographer - ToySoldier Thor

The bookings for the show had started on March 20th, 2015. Over 20 seats were booked within 24 hours on first come first served basis. Half an hour before the show, the gates for the public were opened to fill the rest of the seats. About 30 dancers performed in each show. This means a total of 70 residents are limited per show. I was lucky enough to grab a seat within the first five minutes when the gates opened. It hardly took a few minutes to fill up every seat. In those thirty minutes, we were given the instructions to use the camera. We also received gifts and a program schedule.

Photographer - ToySoldier Thor

The gift was a mini version of the Le Cirque de Nuit. Keeping the environment at midnight settings, we sat on the chairs and pressed Ctrl+9 to reset camera controls. Pressing escape twice, we could view the screen that made all the difference to the show. The ability to control viewer’s camera is built by Arrehn Oberlander. The audience applauded and their jaw fell wide open at the very start of the show.

Prior to the show, I had asked ToySoldier Thor to take a few pictures for the event. This was his second time to the show. As for me, it was my second too, considering last time I had the whole auditorium to myself while Gloriana Maertens kindly explained the tricks of the camera and her act. Thor took over 90 pictures after the show. A few selected ones have been shown in this article. For the rest, please view the link at the end of this article.
Photographer - ToySoldier Thor

Le Cirque de Nuit is an act to pay homage to the Circus in the book. The show started with Gloriana Maertens followed by Imrhien Porthos and others with special bonus surprise scenes exclusive to this season performed by various artists. Each bonus scene could be viewed by pressing escape once on the keyboard. These scenes are part of every show, however, the performances are updated and new scenes are introduced. Each year these scenes would be changed, as Le Cirque de Nuit is an ongoing annual recast event.
The audience’ perspective was kept at highest notion. Each artist is given a genre to select a piece of music for their act. Being in the audience, the music per act was very soothing and harmonious to their dances. The dances were so well chosen that it could speak the language of spoken world. This set is a proof that black and white could have more emphasis than a colourful set.

Photographer - ToySoldier Thor

The breath taking acts and the skills of each performer was mind blowing. At the end of the show on 5th April, 2015, the total tips collected was L$ 33839 to be distributed to the whole crew.
After the show, I asked Scribe: How do you feel after the show is over?
Cherryblond Scribe: It’s funny. I am just now composing a "sleeping" picture. People kept saying all weekend, "you must be exhausted," but I wasn't, then. After we finished tonight I went and had a shower, and sat on my bed, and I was just bowled over. So I am tired, but, very pleased. Everyone's big plans came off without a hitch. It's just so satisfying. Watching them go from pre-audition nerves, then the exhilaration of being chosen to perform. Then utter despair and panic, when they realise where cuts and limits will apply to their dream. Then tension when they open the show through to tonight when they are calm and joking and seasoned. They are winners, in every way, and for tonight, nothing can touch that
I want people to know this is the level you can be entertained at, these are the visions people have. Doesn’t have to be me but the possibilities are so broad and wide for someone who wants to tell a story here. It's a long year till they see Cirque again. But there could be something at that level every month, every week, if people could only start to dream of what's possible

Interview with The Easter Bunny 2015

It is always interesting interviewing holiday mascots in Second Life. Some are reluctant to be interviewed by The SL Enquirer while others take their chances and hope for the best. As ridiculous as these interviews can get I usually have fun with them. This year I caught up with the Easter Bunny but it took a weird turn. Some mascots seriously need to be screened for strange addictions and drug abuse.

Lanai: Hi. I was told I could find the Easter Bunny here. Can you tell me where he is?
Easter Bunny:  Hey there sexy! You are looking at him.

Lanai: Ohhhh. You aren’t the kind of bunny I was expecting to find. What happened to last year’s Easter mascot? I don’t remember him having a British accent and dressed like a Playgirl playmate.

Easter Bunny: Pickings were slim this year for the position so here I am.  As unfortunate as it sounds that bloody fur ball got fired and thrown in the clinker for selling synthetic Easter grass to avatars. He was busted by an undercover Linden.

Lanai: Oh My! That’s terrible news. And you are the replacement?

Easter Bunny: Yes I am and tell me about it.  Of all the wonderful things he could have been doing like orchestrating grand Easter egg hunts and filling baskets with tasty treats, he decided to make the holiday mascot community look bad with his utterly atrocious and repulsive behavior!

Lanai: I can see how this has personally affected you but don’t you think you should be looking a bit more traditional and kid friendly?  What made you apply for the position?

Easter Bunny: That is a brilliant question Ms. Jarrico. Maybe my uniform is a bit edgy and erotic but I can get the job done. I was given this position through a temp agency. It has been hard for me to find a real job since rehab. I was originally looking for something with more dignity and self respect.  But I had no other choice. It was either this, a stripper, escort or Furry park ranger. Those jobs would have been counterproductive in my recovery.

Lanai: What is this virtual world coming to? Rehab??? I don’t mean to be all judgy but don’t they screen holiday mascot applicants and have a dress code?

Easter Bunny: Apparently not.  I can see my looks being a distraction. You keep staring at my carrot.  Rest assured I’m a changed man. My days hooked on sex are over.

Lanai: Oh sorry but that carrot of yours is hard to miss.  I have to say, this interview is getting more awkward by the minute. So you were in rehab for sex addiction?

Easter Bunny: Admitting that I had a problem was the first step. Yes, I was at it like a raging hormonal rabbit. It got to the point where I was facing kidney failure from severe dehydration.

Lanai: Uhhh.

Easter Bunny:  What?

Lanai: nothing. So, what do you have planned for Easter Festivities this year?

Easter Bunny: Well, rather than hosting Easter egg hunts, I was thinking it would be fun to play hide the carrot.

Lanai: How does that relate to this holiday though?

Easter Bunny: Well… You know everyone likes a good hunt right? I have a nice big carrot here…

Lanai: OK stop! This is getting a bit uncomfortable. Don’t you think hiding your carrot sounds like a sexual reference? I’m not sure it is a good idea.

Easter Bunny: How do you know that? Let’s do a test run and see how you like it.

Lanai: I don’t think so. It seems to me you are relapsing.

Easter Bunny: I’ve been sex free for nearly an hour. That is a new record for me.

Lanai: Unbelievable.  Do you have a sponsor helping you?

Easter Bunny: Yes, it is funny that you asked. Cupid is my sponsor.

Lanai: Cupid? Really!?! Wow of all the sponsors they could have set you up with, Cupid was the most ideal choice?

Easter Bunny: Yes , due to his erectile dysfunction, they figured he would be able to keep me from relapsing and giving in to my sexual urges.

Lanai: Where is he now?

Easter Bunny: at the bar.

Lanai: Is this some kind of sick joke? You holiday mascots are all screwed up. Why do I suddenly feel like this is a Dr. Phil combined with Jerry Springer episode? I was hoping to interview you about Easter but this has turned into some kind of weird confession and intervention.

Easter Bunny: I know this interview has you feeling a bit confused and uncomfortable. Let me relieve your stress. How about we go back to my place and talk over dinner and wine.

Lanai: You have got to be kidding me! I’m out of here.

Introducing the New Bamboo Koi Theatre-Opening nights Thursday 9th April 2015 9am slt - 6pm slt

The Bamboo Koi Theatre is a good old variety theatre available to any artist, not just the established ones and the owner plans to have all types of performers from live singers and musicians, theatre performances which are avatar based, Comedians, Open mic, Circus acts etc.
“I don’t want performances to be stuck in the English language genre” said Gemini “I want artists to bring their own culture here, perform in their own language and share their passion with the whole of second life”

Gemini, owner of The Bamboo Koi Theatre and La Freese, owner of Pointe Fusion Elite, set up L&G Entertainment to compliment the theatre. Between them they have assembled an experienced team who offer their time & services free of charge to help new resident performers find their feet by teaching all the basics that had to be learned as new residents, whilst at the same time providing two venues in which they can perform and also promoting the artists in the virtual entertainment world with a view to getting them regular work.
The team have skills across the board, Graphic designers, scripters, builders, fashion and appearance experts, freebie hunters, live performers, voice coach, streamers, radio station, the complete package.

Gemini says that she is keen to find a little theatre group. Since leaving the Okiya she misses the performances and the creativity of the shows and advertised for a theatre group without a home or someone who had a desire to start one. She has the space and the passion to provide a home for such a group.
A week later a girl called Anna landed outside the office.
Anna has been in SL for nearly 4 years, left for a while and recently returned. She has never danced or performed in world and has never used a dance HUD but she brought with her real life ballet skills which she wanted to recreate in SL.
Knowing nothing of ballet, Gemini pointed her in the direction of existing ballet companies but Anna wanted to set up her own at the theatre. Gemini said "I was overjoyed"
They are currently working on a complete solo performance as Anna's debut. "Its great fun" said Gemini with a beaming smile "I am back in my element. Hopefully the theatre group will also stop by one day.

Anna opens at the Bamboo Koi Theatre on 16th April with Voices of Spring

The venue itself comprises of the main Theatre, Piano Lounge, Rooftop Bistro and the L&G Office.

"I hope that at some point we will have a resident pianist to entertain people whilst they sit and relax or work on a new project. The Bistro also provides a nice night time ambience for time with friends and loves ones to listen to a live artist. Maybe one day I will find staff who enjoy waitressing etc and we can have a little dining out experience"

The Owner of the Bamboo Koi Theatre

Gemini began her second life as a hostess at a club but unimpressed, she reinvented and became a Maiko studying traditional Japanese arts and culture and following the daily routine of life in an Okiya (Geisha house)
A lot of the study and work she says, was being the perfect Hostess along with creating & performing stage shows, stories, and choreographing traditional dance routines
None of this was live performance using voice; the only 'Live' part was streaming music to the theatre or Tea house for the show. But the interaction with our guests was much more fulfilling; adding "I have done a lot during my second life but nothing on the scale of what I am hoping to do with The Bamboo Koi & L&G Entertainment"

"I always have land anyway, usually bigger than I need. I never use all the prims and end up letting people live somewhere on my land free of charge to help them out. Anyway my second life was lacking so I thought why not go one step further and combine my love of the performing arts with my penchant for helping people and Bamboo Koi / L&G Entertainment was born
The main concept here is sharing and enjoying what we do rather than being focused on linden dollars. The venue has no donation jar, all tips go to performers. It' all about leaving real life behind and enjoying the virtual world"

WHEN

Opening nights Thursday 9th April 2015 9am slt - 6pm slt for 3 days
The line up has experienced Sl live musicians, mixed with new performers, a magician, an open mic sessions where anyone can come along and do whatever act they wish and to close the show the Chang High Sisters with their fire and light show will be putting on a very colourful display. That should be a spectacular end to the opening days.

American Cancer Society. As of July 2014 RFL Of SL ranks number 17th out of 5000 teams worldwide in donations received. We have brought in over 2 million US dollars to help with the fight against cancer. This year our Relay weekend will be held on July 17th and 18th.
