About Models Giving Back
Models Giving Back is an agency of professional, certified SecondLife models who give of their time and talents to raise funds for legitimate and verified SL and RL charities.
Models Giving Back was founded in October of 2012 by Jamee Sandalwood after a previous agency dedicated to charity work was forced to close due to the owner leaving SecondLife.  Jamee felt the work that was being done needed to be continued and set out to lead the models that were already a part of the former agency into new and bigger endeavors at the newly created Models Giving Back.
To date the agency has partnered with dozens of designers and provided models for runway, print and other functions that support charities around SL.
Rock Your Rack is the creation of Jamee Sandalwood and is owned exclusively by Models Giving Back in SecondLife.

About the National Breast Cancer Foundation
The National Breast Cancer Foundation was founded in 1991 by breast cancer survivor, Janelle Hail.  She was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1980 at the age of 34.  At the time of her diagnosis, there was little information about the disease, and she was forced to make a decision about her health with few options.  After her treatment, Janelle made a commitment to help women around the world by educating them about breast cancer and the importance of early detection.  NBCF’s mission is to save lives through early detection and to provide mammograms for those in need.  This mission includes increasing awareness through education, providing diagnostic breast care services for those in need, and providing nurturing support services.

Are the changes in SL so drastic after all? Why is change important for growth? – Camury Reporting...

Since the first pixels emerged, so much has changed in Second Life. The changes, positive or negative, inevitably bring something new.  This creates the need for adaptation and causes a great impact on us because, in most cases, we cannot interfere with them.
Many people resist change for several reasons. These reasons may be related to a lack of confidence in the ability of adaptation that we can have.

Breaking into the unknown can force us out of our comfort zone and while it may seem uncertain and even uncomfortable, it opens up the opportunity to learn new things and for us to grow. However, it is precisely because of the uncertainty of the unknown that many end up resisting the changes.

There was a huge hullabaloo when the powers that be introduced mesh into Second Life, but now it is de rigueur.  Mesh bodies have arrived and soon a multitude of mesh heads and applicators will also be available. Many residents found themselves struggling to adapt to the new HUD systems.  Granted they can be confusing for many of us.   As a result a number of people still resist change and continue to look as if they were back in 2007.   However, this is a trend that is here to stay and most of us have adapted very well to it.

Are the changes in SL really that drastic?

 Mesh definitely revolutionized the way we present our avatars Inworld.  It offers more options to residents for custom creations.

As Second Life defiantly approaches its second decade, we have seen many projects emerge from Linden Lab and there will be more to come.   The big push for this year is Project Bento.  For those who are not aware of Project Bento, it’s to add ‘bones’ to our Second Life Avatar skeleton.  It will allow greater customization of our avatars. We will more than likely see other new projects emerge in the second half of 2016. The nature of innovations  is such that they pop up on a continuous basis.  If you want to know more about this subject, SL Enquirer published an article about Project Bento:

Linden Lab, also announced the Sansar Project, which is in beta testing. This is a new platform, created from the experiences gained in Second Life but that promises to make it easier for people to create and share their creations. The SL Enquirer also published an article on this subject:
http://www.slenquirer.com/2015/12/second-life-will-live-on-after-project.html

The ability to accept, adapt and transform change into opportunity is what enables us to succeed not only in Second Life but also in various aspects of our actual lives. So let's look forward to seeing the best of the changes to come.

The SLE Buzz: Spotlight on Bubbles Song (In-World: Trinity Ermintrood)

When did you join Second Life and what does SL mean to you?

I Joined Second Life in November 2009. At first I really had no idea what it was all about and I spent a long time just wandering aimlessly around. But then I found my way with a little help and now, SL means a great deal to me. I have a fantastic circle of friends and family whom I consider to be very much my RL friends and family, and SL has enabled me to sing and share my music as I cannot in RL. And that is a huge thing for me. To have the ongoing support  of my followers and "fans" means more than I could put into words.

Where in the world are you from? The Isle of Wight in England.

How did you discover Second Life and what was your first reaction?

I think I found it on an ad on a website, I can't remember which, but as I said above, I really had no clue what it was all about and was just a wandering noob, for a long while. Then I took a break - or more so, I forgot about SL - for about a year, then came back and was lucky enough to fall into a group of great people who helped me learn and grow within SL.

How would you describe your personal style in three words?

Bubbly, Fun, Random.

What are three special things you wished everyone in SL knew about you?

Some people think I'm a one trick pony when it comes to my singing, and a lot won't come to my events because they think it's all love songs, or even musicals and Broadway. But I have over 700 songs on my song list through literally every single genre, there is definitely something on there for someone and I'd love for people to come along who previously wouldn't have done, to see just how versatile I can be with my singing. And to request things they've never heard me do before!!

Can you tell SLE what inspired your involvement in the SL community?

I've always loved music, and when I came back to SL and started learning it properly, I was encouraged to DJ, so I did, and then I started playing some of my own songs during my DJ sets and pretty much everyone was telling me to become a singer in SL. So much so that I had a VERY kind sponsor who helped me get the equipment I needed to be able to start singing.

What are your thoughts on the SL culture? What would you change to improve the quality of your experience?

SL is a great place to meet new people, discover new things and to express yourself in every way possible, whether it be through music (DJing or Singing), whether it be through fashion (making clothes, or just what you wear), how you build and portray your avatar, the people you hang out with, and every other day. I think it's an AMAZING platform for people, like myself, who have difficulties or illnesses in RL who find it hard to get outside, or to meet people or socialize. It's an amazing way of being able to do things you never thought you'd be able to. And can also be such an educational tool in many ways.
The only thing I would change in SL is the greifers, trolls and bullies. But I think LL do their best with reports and such and I can't really think of another way to improve that.

What have you learned about yourself in SL?

I have learned some personal truths about myself, which I won't go in to lol. I've learned that I like some things and dislike some things, that I didn't even know were a thing. I've also learned a lot about creating things. Clothes, furniture, pictures etc.. And this has led me to learn a lot of new programs outside SL, such as Photoshop. I've found a lot of very good friends in SL, and I've learned to trust a lot more people than I did before SL, but I've also learned who not to trust. And I've also become a much better singer since singing in SL due to doing it every single day, when before I wasn't doing it at all.  And it's also raised my confidence a lot, in SL and in RL.

What are your most memorable/funny moments?

After 7 years in SL, there have been FAR too many funny and memorable moments to name just one. And many embarrassing moments also. I do recall one time, I was singing live, and it's always been a mission of some of my friends to try and make me laugh while I'm singing. And this time, they succeeded. They had me laughing so much, I couldn't continue. I had tears streaming down my face and had to stop the music because I just couldn't breathe. Luckily, everyone was laughing with me and we all had a lot of fun.
But as I said, there have been so many, and they will all always stay with me and make me smile.

What are your favorite places to visit in SL for entertainment?

Being that I sing at SO many venues, it's difficult to pick out my favorites. Sadly, I don't really have much time to actually go and enjoy being at a venue when I'm not working. But when I do, I love Greased Lightning. it's also one of my favorite places to sing. Such an awesome crowd of people, and the staff are fantastic too.
http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Greased%20Lightning/31/192/22
Another of my Favorites is LochNess. Another group of people I've been singing for, for over 3 years. I love them all dearly. And it's a great place to hang out and a beautiful sim to explore with so many different events on all the time.
http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Inverness%20City/54/129/22

Where do you like to shop?

I mostly do shopping events rather than specific shops. Such as FaMESHed, Colabor88, Kustom 9, N21, Shiny Shabby... And SOOOOOO many more.... I have a real problem with shopping lol...
But if I do go to a specific store, it's usually Blueberry, Addams, Just Because, HH, Dead Dollz, Candydoll..... Okay maybe there's a lot of them... I'll stop the list there. Lol.

Is there anything else you would like to share with our readers about you?
Music is my passion. I love being able to sing and share my music with the people of SL. Singing in SL, and the compliments and loyalty I get from my followers, fans, friends, family, means more to me than I can express and has done more for me, in RL as well as SL. And I will be forever grateful for that. The ongoing support and encouragement of people in SL is something I will never forget   And I want to thank you all for that. Thank you every one that has stood by me, helped me, complimented me. Anyone that has ever come to one of my gigs, tipped me, requested songs from me or just been there to enjoy the music. You are all the reason I do this, and the reason I have carried on through some very difficult times, in which, again, so many people have stood by me. The people in my group are not just my "fans" they are my friends, and I appreciate and am grateful for each and every one of you. Thank you.

Top 10 Fitmesh Designers in SL for Men – Joymell Reporting...

Most guys I know in SL want to be fashionable, but they are too lazy to look for stores and shopping is just a chore.  What’s more the arrival of mesh and now fitmesh has many of them just plain confused.  Let me try and simplify matters for you.

As consumers, it’s important to understand the benefits of the techniques that allows Mesh clothing and avatar bodies to be adjusted using an avatar Body Shape slider in the appearance editor.  This results in clothing that can be adjusted to fit your avatar's own personal body shape and style. Legitimate Fitmesh for Mesh Bodies will fit perfectly to your mesh body, and will adjust smoothly with your shape sliders.

FitMesh garments move as the body moves, the same way mesh items do.  This allows significantly better fitting clothes and provides opportunities to customize the items i.e make clothes a bigger or smaller size, or adjust a specific area such as the chest.  FitMesh garments also respond to body physics such as chest and bottom wiggles.

My list TOP 10, FitMesh Designers SL for men:

This list contains only designers who make special mesh designed to fit mesh bodies. Therefore NEW FITTED MESH for standard sizes, which allows the mesh to be adapted to the body shape for a perfect fit.

Standard fitmesh designers (default number) are not included in this list, although some listed stores also offer this option.

For my list, I considered the following criteria:
ü  clothes and accessories quality, considering: realistic detail, texture and creativity;
ü  variety of clothing and accessories;
ü  stores that offer products for different mesh bodies;
ü  fitmesh Designers;
ü  shop in the marketplace;
ü  affordable.

Plugging Into SL Unplugged- MajikVixen Reporting

  MajikVixen By CallieKatz

So having my first article published here, back in December, and becoming a part of the SLE community was pretty thrilling.  I even got a few group notices for the Playmate's Magazine.  That got this little voyeuristic vixen thinking about how she could become a part of that action.  So with Beltane having just passed, I thought it would be totally appropriate to share my experience with you all.

A while back, I allocated my curiosity to explore these intentions a bit with Daallee, The Vinnie Show Manager, one of the owners of The Living Room, my music & event-happening guru, and all around sweetheart friend.  I was concerned that because my avatar is stubbornly special, in staying true to the form of a succubus and prim, not mesh, nobody would want to shoot me for their publication.  However, a couple days later, Daallee referred me to her good friend and longtime Vinnie fan, Callie Katz, who as serendipity would have, just happened to be putting together a fantasy edition for her adult magazine that she Co-Owns with Core Nider, SL Unplugged!

I contacted Callie, and she was enthusiastic to get to work right away.  She was also very polite and professional, which would set anyone's mind at ease during a good, long, productive photo shoot.  She gave me a LUMIPro Talent folder, and all I had to do was wear some of it, and she was able to pose my avatar and get the proper settings she needed.  I must say, I did all the easy work of posing and providing a couple of pretty background places, while Callie went to work showing off her masterfully genius Photoshop skills.

We must have taken about a hundred photos, and Callie brought me back to her studio where I could look at them and take copies of whatever raw ones I liked best.  It was hard to stop myself from taking them all, to be honest!  I think I even took duplicates of my favorites, just to make sure I got them, LOL!  It was extremely hard to pick just one favorite, but she immediately took it into Photoshop and made it so I could use it for a profile photo, or even decorate this article with it (although slightly edited).  I complimented her on the Dr3amweaver Slideshow Deluxe photo-viewer she had, as any picture I clicked on, it gave me a copy of, with ease... and she even gave me the photo-viewer!  Such a sweetheart!

A couple months later, the issue came out.  SL Unplugged , Vol. 2 Issue 3.  It's so exciting to see your sexy self in print and to be able to share beauty with the SL world!  Succubus versus Fairy.  It's hard to tell who would win, as everyone in this magazine is just so gorgeous.  -And the stories!  Dripping with luscious erotic smut, my favorite!

Callie says they're always looking for talent.  Anyone interested should contact her or Core.  For the most part, SL Unplugged is distributed by word of mouth and a few advertising places, but they do have a group.  Anyone who wishes to get a copy of SL Unplugged should contact/friend them.

This week we will discuss the different forms of democracy, representative, direct and liquid democracy.  We will also talk about other forms of government such as communism, meritocracy and futarchy.

Which one is best?  What makes a country change its form of government?  Should there be any government in Second Life or on large internet communities such as Facebook?

Is a world government possible? Do you want a world government?  Will it ever be possible to vote on the internet for a local or world government?

Or maybe you think the less government the better?  Is anarchism best of all?

Dem Bones - Lacy Muircastle Reporting...

Remember that song we learned at school?

Dem bones, dem bones, dem dry bones,
Now shake dem skeleton bones!

The toe bone's connected to the foot bone,
The foot bone's connected to the ankle bone,
The ankle bone's connected to the leg bone,
Now shake dem skeleton bones!

Welcome to your bones… What am I on about?  A skeleton for your avatar that’s what.  Why does your avatar need bones?  To facilitate body language of course.

Body Language is a significant aspect of communications and relationships.  In Second Life the use body language has not been available, until now that is.  Body language, and more technically the study of body language, is also known as kinesics (pronounced 'kineesicks'), which is derived from the Greek word kinesis, meaning motion.  The study of motion in second life translates to Project Bento.

Since late 2015 Linden Lab have been testing a limited release for Project Bento on the Aditi test grid, working with content creators. On 1st June they announced the second wave of Bento skeleton improvements.  This release is currently only available on Agni on the main grid. However, this is still a limited release.  Creators, recipients, and anyone wishing to view the new content must be running the latest Bento Project Viewer.

For more on the technical aspects of Project Bento, see the following links:
