From the Ashes of “The Lust House”, Midnight Muse takes Adult Entertainment to New Heights – Josh (Thomas1 Bellic) Reporting

For those of you with "some seasoning" in SL, you may remember the old Venu “The Lust House”. It was something of a traditional, Las Vegas-style strip club, complete with dance poles, a couple of Bars, and adult furnishings scattered about the room.  Change is a constant, not just in RL but in SL as well, and The Lust House was not immune to this change, finally closing and removing yet another Icon from the SL Landscape.  But, as Fortune would have it, it was purchased and, like the Phoenix arising from the ashes, was given new birth.  The new build is a phenomenal improvement over the original, and the changes they made were so very significant that they decided to completely rebrand the build, getting away from some of the baggage and misconceptions of the original venue.  Newly Minted as “Midnight Muse”, this club has it all – dance venues, private dungeons, hotel rooms, a Naked Bowling Ally (Yes…You read that correctly…)  But let’s have the General Manager tell you about it in her own words.  I caught up with Phe as she was directing the application of finishing touches to this ground up, brand new, fully renovated and enhanced Midnight Muse.

Josh (Thomas1 Bellic) (JB):     Hi Phe.  I know how incredibly busy you are right now, but I and the SL Enquirer readers appreciate you taking a break and telling us about all you have accomplished here. How was it that The Lust House, once closed, is now open and ready for business as Midnight Muse? But this is not merely a re-opened Vegas-style nightclub.  It is so much more.  Tell me please, why the change?

Ƥђє (pheonix.felwitch) (PF):     All of us fondly remember the "original"  LustHouse.. I myself worked there & I loved it. There was no comparison to any other place like it at the time.

Then as it so happens, it changed hands.... and then changed hands again and then Tribish was offered the chance to acquire the LJH. Both of us having been veterans of the "Original, quote Los Vegas style LH" I got an IM that simply said "Phe, I have a chance to buy the Lust House. Are you in" And the rest is history.

The changes began, room by room. PBR update by update. Tribish is a Master builder and Anna and myself are his team. And as in the original... we were becoming something upscale and decadent and unlike anything else out there. We are intentional in our vision to be quite different from everyone else. Visions unfolded and builds carried out, and suddenly we were so much more than The Lust House.

We had out grown it  And like a hermit crab chooses a bigger shell to accommodate its growth, It was time. And the name? So very fitting of the detail and craftsmanship that has gone into what you see here today… Do feel free to reach out for a tour.

JB:     Can you tell us who in in the Administration here at Midnight Muse, and what their role was?

PF:     If there are any questions, in any way shape or form. Feel free at this time to Reach out to me. If the need is there to climb that last step, then I will do so.

JB:     Can you tell me about some of the more interesting features that visitors can find there?

PF:     One of my most favorite spots is the Space Pod. Amazing view, calming, overlooking the space platform. It's lovely. The glass house... There are 3 houses each featuring different furniture for a variety of experiences. But I love it the Glass house and I truly am hard pressed to have to choose just "1" of all there is left that I love here. Even a camping experience. And do try the picnic table <winks> the furniture is always updated and the best there is. We feel it's our duty to field test everything for quality control <nods>

JB:     I see an area with hotel-style rooms.  How do these rooms differ from hotel rooms elsewhere on the Grid

PF:     Well, for one we have suites.  That in itself explains what makes us different than any other experiences out there. Each Suite different, each to be explored. The suites off the main dance floor or the suites in the Grand Hotel. Do go and have a look for yourself. Everyone seems to have a favorite.

JB:     Naked Bowling caught my eye.  Where did you get the idea for THAT?

PF:     It's a Bowling Lounge first and fore most and unlike any "Bowling" out on there on the grid.

Once upon a time, naked bowling was hosted at a friend’s house, and great fun was had by all! I find myself quite competitive and for me, some lanes are more "lucky" than others Yes there are exceptions for being naked for whatever reason :)  Of course we will work with you! Looking for suggestions for Euro Day and time as well as the possibility of an evening States set....

JB:     I saw Three Libraries.  What is THAT all about?

PF:     Who doesn't love books? Each room has gaming tables and also Master chairs on the perimeter to sit and be a part of the group gaming, but not having to actually game. if you don't want to.

JB:     I saw some interesting Dungeon Rooms with individual “activities” in each room.  Why not just put them all in one room, like most SL Dungeons do?

PF:     Excellent question! Originally a gorgeous large dungeon "Area" was there. Gleaming and licked by candle braises light like only PBR can do, however, we found the patrons reached out to Tribish and expressed the desire for a more "Traditional" feel. That resulted into what you see today. A different experience in each room to be had, and perfect for pictures.

JB:     What type of guest do you expect to attract to Midnight Muse?

PF:     There’s no particular 'type' we’re aiming for, when you think Midnight Muse, we want you to think Classy, Classy casual and most importantly, be kind. If you're 30 days or older, come on over and wander. Midnight Muse truly has something for everyone’s cup of tea.

JB:     Where might people go to learn about events at Midnight Muse?

Spotlight on Imperium Gentleman's Club- A Romanesque’ Adult Experience- Lanai Jarrico Reporting…

In Latin, the word Imperium means control. In Second Life Imperium means you have control over where you go and your choice of entertainment.  Imperium Gentleman’s Club is a new private D/s venue on Coral Breeze.  It’s not open to the public, You have to apply for membership, subject to approval.  The decor is opulent Imperial Romanesque and gives off a sophisticated, grown, and sexy vibe.

 

Lanai: Hi Spirit, it’s a pleasure to interview you. Before we begin. Can you share with our readers what brought you to Second Life and what inspired you to create this beautifully designed Gentleman’s Club?

Spirit: I was a member of IMVU, and a friend discovered SL, and that was in March 2009. I wasn't anxious to come over, from her description, as it seemed more complicated than IMVU, which I was very used to. Gritting my teeth though I made the leap, and so began the journey. What a journey it has been! Immediately I started running a club, having bought land. Almost from the start, my clubs focused on live music and hosting some of the great singers we have in SL. As to IMPERIUM, it actually started life as a venue for Alric and me to host a party to celebrate our partnering. Alric had suggested the theme, Imperial Rome, I chose the building and the colors were, for me, perfect. As it grew, and Alric has a habit of adding and adding <lol>, we had a discussion and both agreed to keep the build and open it as a Gentleman's club. We had a pretty good idea of what we wanted it to be, drawing on the comments of long-standing members of the D/s community, as to where they perceived needs.

Lanai: Inspired by love.  That's the best inspiration. Can you tell me about this venue and what services you provide?

Spirit: Well, class, sophistication. This is not yet another "skin joint", nor is it just a bunch of chairs and poles. Each area of the club has been given a purpose. There is a large lobby, where people can also meet. A Reception Desk, that can be staffed with a hostess if needed on special event days to welcome guests, a grand piano that can have the ivories tinkling to a mixed repertoire as you land. Passing through into the main area, there are no dance poles, instead dance pads, with chairs around. We wanted to offer something a little different to all those girls mountaineering up and down a pole ;) There are two awesome, and fully stocked bars. I think Alric purchased almost everything that can be dispensed and fitted on there :) There is a large clear area that acts as our dance floor, for couples and singles. A stage for our awesome performers, the DJs and live singers. We have installed INM showers outside at the back, and towelette dispensers, Also outside you can find flower stalls, for guests romantically minded to present their lady a bunch of roses :) A VIP area exists for select and selected guests, There are also two private rooms available for guests to entertain a female companion in relative privacy. These rooms each have fully interactive adult furniture and their own shower.

Lanai: When creating a successful venue, you need a strong team. Can you tell me about your team and their roles at Imperium Gentleman’s Club?

Spirit: Alric and I have many years RL management experience, and people are people in SL or RL, with the same issues, problems, and emotions. being able to manage situations in written, or verbal, ways is very important in SL, as there is no visual body language to rely on reading. I have my SL experience of running clubs and managing various issues and problems that inevitably crop up. We also have a strong team of hostesses we are building, who are very experienced and capable. We are taking our time finding managers as we want to be present ourselves as much as we can initially.

Lanai: This venue is members only. How can one apply for membership?

Spirit: Apart from IM'ing either Alric or myself, go to the club and in the lobby, at the Reception Desk, is a board to just click on to register an interest in joining.

Lanai: Simple enough.  What type of rules do you have in place to keep it a peaceful and enjoyable experience? Do you have a dress code?

Spirit: We have a comprehensive, yet compact, set of rules. Once you land you get offered the latest version. They are based on common sense, and they certainly aren't onerous. If you possess common sense, and common decency to others, you will find them all perfectly reasonable and understandable. Yes, we have a dress code; Males: smart casual, or suit, or tux.  Females: chic, sexy, and wearing as little, or as much, as desired.

Lanai: Men in suits is a great appeal for upscale venues… I love it.  So, what type of events do you host? 

 

Spirit: We will be looking to have regular DJs, offer evenings and nights of live singers, run competitions, and have event-themed days.

Lanai: Are you currently hiring? If so, what positions do you have available and how can one apply?

Spirit: We are always interested in hostesses. These are not paid, unless by prior agreement of the club for specific events. They earn 100% of their tips. The club takes zero. It has its own donation urn :) DJ's of course are always welcome to contact us.

Lanai: Do you have a group that members can join to get updates on special events?

Spirit: Yes, the group is IMPERIVM. Imperium with a U was taken, and in any case, there was no U in Latin, just a V. The easiest way to apply as I have said is to click the board at the reception desk, so we can review your application. Currently, membership is free, though we shall after the initial "honeymoon" period before, during, and a short while after the opening, institute a fee. So join now!

Lanai: Is there anything else you would like to share with our readers about Imperial Gentleman’s Club?

Spirit: Other than we aim to make this a wonderful place to spend time, a special place, but that also depends on members to help build and maintain that experience and atmosphere. We can build it, but members have to come and stay!
