A 21st birthday with a difference - Lacy Muircastle reporting

Looking for something to do this weekend?  Look no further....

This year Jeans for Genes turns 21! To date, over $60 million has been raised to help fight childhood diseases.

Not only is the music line up amazing, but it is for a good cause at the same time.

Jeans for Genes Day is a national day when people wear their jeans to raise much-needed funds for research into birth defects and diseases such as cancer, epilepsy, and a range of genetic disorders.

On the first Friday in August each year workplaces, schools and streets become a sea of denim in a united stance against childhood disease.
Every dollar raised on the day helps scientists at Children’s Medical Research Institute discover treatments and cures, to give every child the opportunity to live a long and healthy life.

If you would like to help us raise money for Children's Medical Research Institute, you can purchase Jeans for Genes merchandise from select locations. Click here to find a location near you.
