inKLine Media premiered on YouTube, the pilot episode of a new weekly episodic news program focusing on Second Life. The show, entitled inKLine Headlines, combines the top news stories from around SL with harmless comedic riffs aimed at no one in particular.
The venture benchmarks inKLine Media’s intention to generate more original multimedia content for Second Lifers. It also represents a longheld ambition of inKLine’s owner, Bill Kaye.
“I have yearned to produce a video news program geared towards Second Life since almost the moment I left the ‘welcome hub’ back in 2012,” said Kaye. “At that time, capturing video content in-world seemed a lot more cumbersome and/or costly. I am thrilled that creating machinima has become more accessible for the average resident and I’m encouraged to see SL actively supporting the effort.”
While Kaye has captured and edited video over the past couple of years, he said that the production is still very much a “work-in-progress.”In addition to the first installment of inKLine Headlines, Kaye said that he is actively working on other machinima and multimedia projects to premier in the not-too-distant future.
