February 27th - Kris Composer & PrettyBelle LIVE at Terry's Sunday Showcase

 

Join us on Sunday, February 27th beginning at 1 pm SLT for Terry's Sunday Showcase, sponsored by the SL Enquirer!  This week's featured artist is Kris Composer!  Kris brings his unique and expressive voice to Second Life and his music promises to thrill with his smooth vocals, effervescent personality, and thoughtful lyrics.

Kris started piano lessons at 8 and wrote his first song at around 12 years old. He joined a band in the ’90s but gave that up to go back to college.  After college,  real-life interfered so he cut his hair and got a “real job” in the tech industry.  His love of music never left him and he has discovered that Second Life is an amazing outlet for the music that still lives in his heart.

His extensive song list of covers includes a myriad of genres and artists as well as a sprinkling of his original tunes. Kris classifies his music as “mainstream contemporary, pop-rock” and credits Phil Collins for greatly influencing his musical style.  His original writings come from real-life experiences and he wants “people to make their own stories and have their own feelings from my songs”.  

You will experience a wide array of emotions as Kris Composer pours himself into every song and takes you on an eclectic journey of unforgettable music.

Following Kris at 2 pm SLT, you're in for a treat as Terry's Sunday Showcase continues with the lovely PrettyBelle, performing her debut this week on our outdoor stage!

Listening to the quality of PrettyBelle's voice, one is hearkened back to days gone by when beautiful women wore elegant, sleek dresses and sang at piano bars of the golden days.  It's hard to express the glamor in her voice without invoking such names as Billie Holiday and Rosemary Clooney, but when you hear her voice, you'll know that it is quite fair to put her in the same category.  

A relative newcomer to the SL music scene but certainly not lacking in the talent department, PrettyBelle sings modern songs but can put a nice jazz undertone with it.

February 20th - Phemie + Banjo LIVE at Terry's Sunday Showcase

Join us on Sunday, February 20th beginning at 1 pm SLT for Terry's Sunday Showcase, sponsored by the SL Enquirer!   Joining us this week for a special live dual-stream performance will be Phemie, along with her RL bandmate Banjo McFeelies!  

You will get sucked into the stories Phemie weaves in the songs she covers as well as the haunting originals she shares with us.  Her song selection is varied spanning both time and genre. From the moment you hear those first few keys break through the quiet until the last notes she sings at the end of the hour you'll be glad you stopped by and looking forward to the next time.

This will be a rare, mostly acoustic set with a primarily bluegrass/Americana feel to it, so it's definitely one you won't want to miss!

February 6th - Lexus Melodie & Seli Blackmore LIVE at Terry's Sunday Showcase

 Join us on Sunday, February 6th beginning at 1 pm SLT for Terry's Sunday Showcase, sponsored by the SL Enquirer!  This week's featured artist is Lexus Melodie!

Debuting at Terry's this week, Lexus is a singer/songwriter with the voice to prove it. With a heart as big as her voice,  Lexus' setlists are a carefully crafted blend of songs that she connects with or has written based on her life experiences in the UK.  Her originals have depth, but also just the right amount of humor, wit, and catchiness.  

When playing covers, she has the innate ability to take songs created by others, and play them in a way that transforms them into something different, something audibly noteworthy, something.....Lexus.  Come see which songs you'll still be singing tomorrow morning...

Following Lexus at 2 pm SLT, you're in for a treat as Terry's Sunday Showcase continues with a special LIVE performance from the lovely Seli Blackmore, a singer/songwriter that continues to impress with her silky smooth voice, pure sweet tone and vivacious personality that will have you humming to yourself with a big smile on your face.  She not only performs original songs but covers greats like Fleetwood Mac, Billie Holiday, The Dixie Chicks and even some Aerosmith!

Not only is Seli an accomplished singer/songwriter, her voiceover work for radio and television is heard on a regular basis throughout the Nordic region.

Seli was born in the USA but calls Sweden home.  She's currently involved in a number of projects in addition to her own debut solo album. After over a decade in SL, she combines the two things she loves: gaming and music. Her distinctive voice makes her a "must-hear performer" and you won't regret spending your time listening to her mesmerizing music.

Toxie has a rich, sultry voice and quirky personality that brings a lot of fun to the stage. She brings a new meaning to the words sultry and sizzle with a collection of music that’s a blend of classic to contemporary, sweet to naughty.

Enjoy jazz? Blues? Rock? A little pop? Bring your requests, be ready to sing along, and let Toxie show you just how much she loves the music she shares with us during her “musical therapy.”

Following Toxie this week at 3pm SLT is Sassy Nitely, a singer/songwriter from Nashville, TN whose charisma and musicianship has captivated the hearts of music lovers in SL since 2008. Some say her music moves them, others are allured by her charisma, but all are captivated by her soul-felt vocal talent-filled with power and grace.

Not only is Sassy an award-winning musician in SL, she also gigs in and around Nashville with her esteemed band, My July.
