Twisted Imagery in Janus Gallery III Nov 28th 12PM SLT

You are cordially invited to join us Sunday, November 28th from 12p-2pm slt for Kraven Klees' new exhibit in Janus Gallery III entitled, "Twisted Imagery." Dude and Agatha Nowles will perform live making for a colorful day of art and music. We can’t wait to share it with you! 12pm slt Dude 1pm slt Agatha Nowles About the artist: Kraven Klees creates media artworks, fractals, photos, and mixed media artworks. By applying abstraction, Klees investigates the dynamics of art, including the manipulation of its effects and the limits of spectacle based on our assumptions of what art means to us. Rather than presenting a factual reality, an illusion is fabricated to conjure the realms of our imagination. His media artworks establish a link between the arts reality and that imagined by its conceiver. These works focus on concrete questions that determine our existence. By exploring the concept of art in a nostalgic way, he tries to increase the dynamic between audience and author by objectifying emotions and investigating the duality that develops through different interpretations. His works don’t reference recognizable forms. The results are deconstructed to the extent that meaning is shifted and possible interpretation becomes multifaceted. By examining the ambiguity and origination via retakes and variations, he creates intense personal moments masterfully created by means of rules and omissions, acceptance and refusal, luring the viewer round and round in circles. His works never show the complete structure. This results in the fact that the artist can easily imagine their own interpretation without being hindered by the historical reality. By experimenting with aleatoric processes, he formalizes the coincidental and emphasizes the conscious process of composition that is behind the seemingly random works. The thought processes, which are supposedly private, highly subjective, and unfiltered in their references to dream worlds, are frequently revealed as assemblages. His works feature coincidental, accidental, and unexpected connections which make it possible to revise art history and, even better, to complement it. Combining unrelated aspects lead to surprising analogies.

Dude brings many years of real-life singing and performing experience to his Second Life stage. Singing a random selection of favorite covers from smooth romantics to rock & roll, ’80s-’90s, pop, blues, R&B, and funk, Dude thrives on “random.” You will be charmed and feel a personal connection from his stage every time. Come enjoy Dude’s goofy banter and laugh along with him as he laughs at himself.

“Singing allows me to entertain people. I get a kick out of knowing that somewhere out there, someone could have been listening to me and I managed to brighten their day in some small way. I truly do enjoy giving of my humble “gift” and making others feel good.” ~ Dude

Agatha is not only an exceptionally talented singer, blessed with a beautiful voice and incredible range, she is also hysterically funny and down to earth.
