People come to SecondLife for a variety of reasons. Some come for the friendships, or for the many and varied Musical expressions possible here. Others to build and create. Still others come for the adult activities, and still others come to have children and to build their online families. Occasionally, here at the SL Enquirer, we like to touch base with individuals we have interviewed in the past and see where they are today. This week we have a special treat. We tracked down Trish Nightengale, as spotlighted in: http://www.slenquirer.com/2023/07/spotlight-feature-trish-nightengale-sls.html and we were amazed at what she has accomplished since she initially appeared in our publication.
Josh (Thomas1 Bellic) (JB): Hi Trish. Thank you for agreeing to meet with us again. So, tell us, please. What have you been up to since then? Our last interview?
Miss Trish Crafton (oomissoootrishoo.nightingale) (TC): Since that first Spotlight I have been
pouring my heart into building Crafton’s Creations into a full family
and baby boutique on our own region, while still getting on stage whenever I
can. Between designing clothing, furniture, care systems, and Tiny Bots, and
raising my SL family, life has been wonderfully full. I still sing, still love
it, and still get just as excited when someone walks into the store and finds
something that makes their nursery feel like home.
JB: How has
your career as an SL musician progressed since then?
TC: My music has
grown right alongside the store. I still love singing country with a little pop
and rock mixed in, and I have gotten to do more dual streams, bigger venues,
and nights that feel like a real concert since those early karaoke days. Music
is still my first love, and Crafton’s Creations is just another way I
get to share that same heart with people on the grid.
JB: What an
amazing array of products you have here, at Crafton’s Creations. Whatever
inspired you to open such a store?
TC: I opened
Crafton’s Creations because I wanted a place where caregiving in Second Life
felt real, magical, and joyful all at once. Watching friends nurture baby bots
and build family homes made me want to create everything they would need under
one roof, from outfits and furniture to care systems. The store grew out of
that desire to make family roleplay feel immersive, cute, and full of love.
JB: What type of shopper would you consider to be the ideal customer at Craftons Creations?
TC: My ideal
shopper is anyone who loves family life in SL, whether they are raising a baby,
building a nursery, or shopping for matching outfits for the whole household.
They care about quality, cuteness, and products that actually work together as
a system, not just look pretty on a shelf. If you light up when you find a
little outfit or a care item that makes your day brighter, you are my kind of
customer.
JB: What are
some of your most popular products? Any real “Fan Favorites”?
TC: Fan favorites are the clothing lines for every age — LullaBeebs for infants, ToddleeDoo and Bebe Toddler for toddlers, Bebe Youth and TweeneeDoo for the older kids — along with the TwinTales sets and the Total Care System pieces. People also love the nursery furniture and themed wall decor because it turns a plain room into a real nursery. Tiny Bots has already become a huge new favorite for families who want their little ones online, interactive, and part of the home.
JB: While
wandering the isles of your store, I saw something called CRAFTONCAST
TELEVISION. What is that?
TC: CraftonCast
Television is our multi-viewer family TV, built so loved ones can watch
together on the same screen. It has movies, TV, music, classics, social, games, and more, with favorites and simple controls in a cute Crafton’s Creations
style. It is meant for cozy nights in with your family, not just a lonely prim
playing by itself.
JB: You recently rolled out something called “Tiny Bots”? What is this “Tiny Bots” I have heard so much about?
TC: Tiny Bots is
our Second Life bot hosting service for families who want always-online
companions, from babies and kids to adults. You pay L$ at the in-world
terminal, pick a package, and control your bots from a free HUD and a web
panel, with options for movement, AI chat, outfits, memory, and even
age-appropriate voices. It ties right into Crafton’s Creations so your
Tiny Bot can live in the nursery, wear the clothes, and use the care furniture
we sell. There is a video tutorial on YouTube if anyone wants to see it in
action. Here is that link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=32CluzAIYNc&t=1391s
JB: I see you
have something called the “Elite” program. Tell us about that, please?
TC: The Elite
program is our VIP group for store regulars who want a little extra love. It is
a one-time L$500 join, and members get 15% off year-round, in-store-only 50%
sales the first week of every month, plus access to lucky chairs and rez day
gift cards. It is my way of spoiling the people who keep coming back and
supporting Crafton’s Creations.
JB: What an
amazing array of products you have. Did you create all these yourself? Or did
you have help?
TC: I design and
create the products myself with a lot of love, from the clothing brands to the
furniture themes and care items. I do get technical help when something needs
heavy scripting or mesh work, because I want every piece to be store-quality
and actually work in-world. At the end of the day though, if it has the Crafton’s
Creations name on it, it came from my vision for this family store.
JB: Is there anything else you would like to share with our SL Enquirer Readers?
TC: Thank you so
much for having me back, Josh, and thank you to everyone who has shopped, sung
along, or just stopped by to say hi. Come visit Crafton’s Creations, for all of
your family needs, and if Tiny Bots sounds like your kind of magic, the
terminal and tutorial are right there in the store. Have a beyond blessed day,
and I hope to see you there. Come visit us at: SURL: https://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Craftons%20Creations/217/67/463
So there you have it, Folks. Straight from the Renaissance Woman herself. I could go on and on trying to describe all the wonderful products available, but I could never do them justice. If you are raising your own family, or looking for gifts for your friends who have kids…send ‘em on over.
And when you to swing by, tell ‘em “Josh Sent ya”. You’ll be glad you did.
Be there! Aloha!
JB
