UNITED, the Ultimate Style Card Fashion Show & Competition is coming soon. Today we begin announcing those that have agreed to participate to make style cards come alive in July. We are happy to seeAvant Garde designers are looking forward to the chance to work with Vintage Haute Couture designers. And Accessory designers are looking forward to being inspired by their team creations. Hair designers are promising much flip action and Pose designers are going to back them up. We also have Musicians and Deejays sorting through their music to give the models a pep in their step.

Anyone that wants to be part of this historic event can still reach out to an organizer(s) and let them know “I WANT TO BE UNITED!”  Invitations are still being sent and we are waiting on commitments…so there is still time to sign up.

ON SUNDAY, November 7, starting at 11am SL time, there will be a fabulous MAKEOVER MAGIC fashion show on the American Cancer Society island in Second Life. Four cancer survivors, a caregiver, and a survivor/caregiver, along with their fashion mentors, will display their new looks. MAKEOVER MAGIC is organized by a team of volunteers from the American Cancer Society in Second Life, along with SL fashion experts and mentors. The team is led by Cinders Vale, herself a breast cancer survivor in real life. This is the program’s fourth year. It is the Second Life equivalent of a real-life program, ‘Look Good…Feel Better’, a nationwide, public service program in the USA supported by the American Cancer Society which teaches female cancer patients beauty tips to look good during chemotherapy and radiation treatments, improve their self-esteem, and manage their treatment and recovery with greater confidence. Women learn about makeup, skin care, nail care, and ways to deal with hair loss such as wigs, turbans and scarves. There are also self-help materials available for men going through treatment.

Wow, wow, wow!!!! Talk about being spoilt for choice, so much to see so little time, what is a girl to do?  I hope your bank accounts are looking  positive, because they are going to be sorely tested over the next few weeks.

Designers United 4: September 4th to September 15th.
Designers United is a 12 day long fashion event featuring exclusively created products from a group of talented designers, based on a theme. Each designer has created items specifically for this project, and they will only be available for sale for a limited period of time.

The theme chosen was "Narcissus", and the designers have interpreted this theme to make items based on the colours, textures or feelings evoked by this flower or myth.
