Sunburst Premier Grid Entertainment: The Largest And Longest Running Caribbean Carnival In Second Life Returns

After a two year hiatus from bringing this event to the SL grid, I'm excited to announce the 9th Annual Sunburst Premier Grid Entertainment Caribbean Carnival weekend is coming to Second Life in a little over a week from this printing.  With 2020 being such a challenging time for everyone dealing with the coronavirus and being quarantined, the thought came to me.  However, with the incidences of deadly police actions against people of color in the USA and the protests around the world for social and racial equality, this was a perfect time to bring back the carnival in celebration of the Caribbean culture.
The 2020 Sunburst Caribbean Carnival will be a three day weekend event covering three individual sims with three unique events.  The dates of the events are from September 10-12.  September 10 and 11 are exclusive event days and require a ticket purchase to attend.  On September 10 will be our Afro-Latin Formal party featuring Break Beatz Entertainments (BBE) DJ India who will provide the beats and rhythms that will definitely keep you moving on the dance floor.  Hosting for DJ India will be the talented Egyptshae.  (Formal attire is required).  On September 11 we will be bringing you the anticipated Ultimate Versuz Showdown Battle.  This will be a double Versuz showdown between Caribbean music legends and stars Spice and Lady Saw played by DJ Pinky and DJ Cinfull of (BBE), and Aidonia and Vybes Kartel played by DJ Brockie and DJ Grock (BBE). Available tickets can be bought at: https://breakbeatzent.wixsite.com/2020sunburstcarnival.
On September 12 is our Caribbean Carnival open to the entire SL grid. The DJ line up for 2020 include in no specific order: DJ Kemi-Rock, DJ Vixen, DJ Pinky, DJ Cinfull, DJ Raidous, DJ AndreDVere, DJ Feleen, DJ Grock, and DJ Brockie.  Hosts for this event will be Dragoneyed Diva and Ladybug. We will have contests for King & Queen of carnival, Best crew in costume, Best In Body Glitter and for our Greek Org community, Best Greek Org in costume.  All will have linden awards.
None of this would be possible without the support of the following sponsors who we salute and say Thank You:

The 2016 Sunburst Premier Grid Ent. Caribbean Carnival Returns for Its 7th Year.

Sunburst Premier Grid Entertainment
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Shon Larsson, Owner/CEO, Co-Owner Break Beatz Entertainment
Monday, August 29, 2016
As Labor Day in the U.S. gets closer we expect summer vacations to come to an end, schools to be back in session, and the fall season to be right around the corner.  One unexpected event is about to happen as well.  After six years of an August date, the Sunburst Premier Caribbean Carnival is making its 7th year return on Saturday, September 3, 2016.  The largest Caribbean Carnival celebration on Second Life, this event has been anticipated by residents since its inception in 2008.

Unfortunately in 2015, the carnival was cancelled due to other important obligations.  At that time I knew I wanted to bring it back the following year and here we are.  Also returning for its 2nd year, Latin Heat, “The hottest night of the year”.  This pre-carnival event on Friday, September 2, 6-8pm slt is to acknowledge and celebrate the Latin Culture in the Caribbean.  The DeeJay for this event is DJ Spice (Spiceme Fanizza), the Sensual Latina of Break Beatz Ent. in her 2nd year, bringing that salsa, meringue, reggaeton heat and whatever else she has simmering.

Latin Heat will be held for the first time at the legendary Cruiz Cotton Club.  Thank you to Cruiz & Starlaa Boa Control for allowing me the opportunity to host the event at your venue.  The Control’s have sponsored the Caribbean Carnival consistently for the past five years.  For the 7th anniversary of the Caribbean Carnival we have a lineup of four great DeeJays.  One important mainstay of this event is that all of the music is provided by DeeJays with direct ties to, or are from the Caribbean.  There are three DeeJays: DJ Cinfull (Cinfull Vixen), DJ Vixen (Suzie Coba), and DJ Kamaria (Mrs. Badger) from Break Beatz Entertainment (BBE) participating in this annual event for the first time, and DJ IDJGrock returning for his second year.  The Hosts for this event are Zariaunna Madeye and Nomi Loven both highly experienced BBE staff members. The location of this year’s carnival will be on the Palm Bay Estates Beach.  http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Hype/208/93/22

The carnival contests have returned as well with random prizes, great sponsor prizes, and cash prizes for Best Caribbean costume, Best Crew in Caribbean costumes (3 or more in a crew), and King & Queen of carnival.

Year after year I am very appreciative to the sponsors who support and participate in this event.  This, the 7th year is no exception.  I want to thank all of the following sponsors for registering for this year’s event.  Without your generosity and support I wouldn’t be able to sustain this event year after year.  On behalf of the Break Beatz Ent. staff and management as well as our business partners, we thank you for helping us continue to bring quality entertainment to the SL grid.

Plans Underway for The 5th Anniversary Sunburst Blazin1.FM Caribbean Carnival
Sunburst Premier Grid Entertainment in conjunction with TheBlazin1.fm radio hosts its annual Caribbean carnival, and celebrating the 5th year anniversary of producing this event for the Second Life residents.  The events begin on Wednesday, August 28, 2013 and conclude with the main Caribbean carnival on Saturday, August 31, 2013 at multiple locations.

The Sunburst Caribbean carnivals began in 2008 when I noticed there were hardly any celebrations during the weeks of carnival in Second Life.  Since that time for the next 4 consecutive years, the staff of Sunburst Premier Ent. with the support of some of the most thoughtful and generous sponsors on the grid, have produced a day long full Caribbean carnival to the enjoyment of hundreds of SL residents to date.   Oohlala Sassoon, Owner of Ooh-La-La Skins responded when asked why does she want to sponsor this event: "Blazin' 1 FM has done so much over the years to contribute to bring Caribbean cultural awareness to Second Life, and it just makes sense to sponsor an organization that has shown this much longevity. I salute Shon's work and it just made sense to participate."
