BREAKING NEWS! Bella Bistro is Missing!

Usually its residents who go missing but this is just a shock! A whole restaurant is POOF gone without any warning or farewell, leaving residents stumped and forcing them to roll up at run down food trucks for a romantic date!

Bella Bistro was a staple in romantic dining in Second Life since 2009. According to a shocked resident that informed SLE, Bella Bistro has closed its doors, picked up its buildings and is gone! This restaurant was created by Sword Hammerer and Lucy Vacano (lucyangel.vacano) to fill the niche for a romantic dining for the second life residents.

Situated on the shore of the Black Sea, this fine dining establishment gave residents a soothing coastal feel. It will surely be missed by many especially the OG Second Life residents that had many first dates there.

The SL Enquirer reached out to Sword and Lucy but have not received a response. If you have any information about the disappearance of Bella Bistro contact us!

Petra’s Closes its Doors Permanently

Petra’s was one of the few venues that could hold an active crowd with great conversations and laughs. It’s beautifully adorned venue had a friendly familiar feel with guests and artists alike gracing the dance floor and experiencing the multiple talents that performed center stage. Everyone was friendly and inviting.

When venues this well managed and maintained,  It is always sad to announce they are closing their doors. The news came as a shock to The SL Enquirer as well as many others who visited Petra’s and had the opportunity to meet the woman behind it all; Petra Steele. The venue will be missed but most of all Petra Steele’s presence.

On behalf of the SL Enquirer and fans of Petra’s. Ms. Steele thank you for your hard work, passion and energy in supporting music and entertainment in Second Life and being a part of this amazing, creative virtual platform. We wish you the very best in your treatment and recovery.

Dear Staff, Artists & Friends of PETRA's,

It is with a tremendous sense of sadness that I write to inform you that as of  5:00pm today, Friday, June 22, PETRA's closed its doors permanently.

As many of you know, I have been ill for some time and have just received word about a diagnosis, the treatment for which will interfere with my being able to run the club.

Of all the venues I have owned, PETRA's is the one I've had the greatest pride in and affection for.  It saddens me to have to say goodbye to it and all the great times and great music we have packed into the 8 months of its existence.

My gratitude to each and every one of you for being a part of the wonderful adventure that PETRA's was for me and, I hope for all of you.

Always,

Petra Steele

DEXLER CLUB CLOSES ON SECOND LIFE Nomads Aries Reporting…

July 25th, 2013 was a very sad day for some Second Life residents. It was the day the Dexler Club closed its doors. In SL, clubs come and go frequently and many venues fall by the wayside. A club's closing is not uncommon.

Dexler was a well established and long running club. If you have been in SL for some time, no doubt you have heard of the Dexler Club.

The Dexler club was owned by Karina Dexler and began in 2009. It wasn't long after that, Dexler took its place as one of the strongest, most professional clubs in the virtual world of SL. The club had a regular spot in the Destinations Guide; their traffic was “real traffic”, never padded by bots. Their music was varied; their djs and hosts were international and always professional. The staff treated everyone and each other with respect, politeness and kindness. Dexler ran like a well oiled machine 24 hours a day, 7 days a week until July 25th 2013.

SL Newser: No Convention This Year - SLCC 2012 Won't Take Place

Second Life fans whom enjoyed going to their yearly convention got some disappointing news. AvaCon, the group that organized last year's Second Life Community Convention (before, it was done by The Future United) announced it would not be doing another. There would be no SLCC 2012. The only reason given was "changes in the terms of the contract offered by Linden Lab this year," which they did not mention. The event would have been the 8th SLCC convention, and likely would have taken place on August 11th or 18th.
