Spotlight on Kaino Hotshot- The best Wide Receiver in the SLNFL League, Architect and Black Soul Rhythms Radio Promoter. –Lanai Jarrico Reporting…

 Kaino Hotshot

It’s always a pleasure meeting new people in Second Life and finding out what they are all about.  Recently, I caught up with SLE Spotlight Drawing Winner Kaino Hotspot, after a BSR/ SLE sponsored Chill Lounge party.   Going in I had no clue what to ask but when we met up at his home. It was like walking up inside of MTV Cribs, except he wasn’t showing me all around pointing out his garage full of pimped out rides and walls of self portraits and awards. He was more the laid back type, the kind of SLebrity, you’d actually want to hang out with.

I tried to respect others time so I try to keep my interviews an hour, so I knew I didn’t have much time to think up questions so I just went with the flow of the conversation and here’s how it went down.

SPORTS & LEISURE- SFL, Second Football League in SL First Pre-Season Game, Attempt #1 - Courtesy of Youtube.com/SportsFaninSL

• Saturday, October 02, 2010

Saturday, October 02, 2010
Video Description:

This is the SFL, Second Football League in SL, run by Romeo Torvalar. This is the league's first attempt at a pre-season game with players, fans, and cheerleaders. Hyped as the "best football in SL" and "Madden style football in SL," this in my opinion is a disaster ... I'll let you be the judge though. I am free to post this video under "fair use" laws, as it is being used for "news reporting" and "criticism."

Fair use is a doctrine in United States copyright law that allows limited use of copyrighted material without requiring permission from the rights holders, such as for commentary, criticism, news reporting, research, teaching or scholarship.

SPORTS & LEISURE: Is Second Life really ready for some SFL Football or could it all get intercepted by DRAMA and fade away costing everyone who has been investing a lot of time, energy and money on trying to make it a success? ~Lanai Jarrico Reporting...

It is apparent that drama makes the SL social and business scenes go around. Through the years, I witnessed more dramatic episodes here in SL, than the tween drama, “The Secret life of an American teenager”. I like to avoid the petty arguments and the “he said”, “she said”, while focusing on the positive things going on in our virtual world. But I just keep hearing about SFL, so I am curious as to what’s going on.

Not all of the drama in SL is bad. For instance, Theaters and Machinima Films have some amazing actors, scenes and special effects. But, at the end of the day, the cast and crew can detached their wigs and makeup and walk away unaffected. It truly is a dramatic experience in Second Life with episodes going on all day, every day, but in my opinion, theater is the best place for the drama because It brings on a great virtual experience , not only awe inspiring and creative, but a fun part of Second Life. Unlike the more brutal banter that happens off stage.
From a media perspective, I also believe, if there are issues in the community or what some people would consider “drama”, than all parties involved should have a chance to voice their opinions or sides of their story. You never know what you may uncover. It can open a nice big can of worms for some people if you ask the right questions and get the most honest and upfront answers.

On Friday September 24, 2010, I tuned in to Renegade Radio, while observing the practice going on at The SFL HQ. I heard the discussion/Interview conducted by the DJ Host Bannock Ogg, the GM of the SFL's Valhalla Packers, accompanied by SFL’s owner and CEO Romeo Torvalar as a guest.

Unfortunately, I missed the radio show prior where former members, like BatRastard Panthar and other ex members discussed SFL and Romeo’s business tactics. The radio show I witnessed, lasted 3 hours and some interesting things were being said. It left me questioning what the “drama makers” where saying about him and the SFL Organization.

From my observation, I think a lot of what’s going on has to do with Ego trippin arrogance. It’s not uncommon in any Sports were testostorne is in high quantities. Ladies in sports can be pretty brutal too.
It seems like some people involved may have too much confidence or lack of professional business ethic, and we need a referee up in here!

I have been taking note of all the behind the scenes talk going on about SFL (Second Life Football League), it’s owner Romeo, , fans of this new phenomenon, a couple of ex players and even getting comments via IM or here on our website in regards to it. The hype and exposure may be big but the reputation of SFL might be suffering. The decision making on what has been going on, will be left up to the public. If you have any comments or opinions, feel free to use the reader opinion box at the end of this article.

Stacey grills the Big Man....
SFL ANSWERS QUESTIONS

The SFL has been under some fire recently, so what I did was talk to a few people with beef, and then took the beef to SFL president Romeo Torvalar.

Now, I have never owned a SFL team. I have never owned anything more expensive than a gown I got for a dance I was attending. A lot of this stuff goes right over my head. I also don't work for the SFL in any shape or form. Sure, I get paid to write about them, but I was getting paid before and would be getting paid if I stopped SFL coverage. So, I'm not compromised.

If you think the SFL is getting a raw deal, or if you think I let Romeo off the hook too easily here... there is a means of redress... the comments section at the bottom! use it, abuse it... I'm just that proverbial conversation catalyst.

Here's Romeo and I, chewing the fat.

SPORTS & LEISURE: Let There Be Light... -Stacey Cardalines Reporting...

Baskin-Robbins has 31 flavors... the SFL has 32, blogga!
Just one week from today... the SFL kicks off their preseason!..

October 1st, 5 PM S(F)L time.... here:http://slurl.com/secondlife/SFL%20Headquarters/116/249/24

Be there as the Hurricane Raiders take on the Wicked Texans for some gridiron get some!

They've been planning and practicing all summer, and this is the first time they take the new car out for a spin. This is SL sporting history, so you want to be there. Either Carlito or I will be there covering it... maybe even both of us.

If you'd like to play for the SFL... well, I made a point of taking that SLurl from not only where you can watch this game, but where you can sign up to play or cheer for the SFL. I'm good like that.

Who will win? Your own faithful Sports Editor isn't above wagering on sporting events. However, I never bet on a preseason game in real life. Here's why:

- A coach would be foolish to give away his better game plans to win a meaningless preseason game.

- These games are often used to scope out some of the lesser players as they compete for roster spots.

- The players aren't in midseason form yet.

- A lot of players go at maybe 70% effort, so as not to blow out a knee.

SPORTS & LEISURE- SFL DRAFT: Stacey Cardalines Reporting...

SPORTS & LEISURE- SFL DRAFT: Stacey Cardalines Reporting...
#1 overall pick Adrenaline Auster, of the Polano Chargers...
The first two rounds of the SFL Draft were held last night at the SFL Headquarters.

The draft was SL big time. Carlito and I were not the only reporters there, nor was SLE the only media represented. They had a stage, an owners area, and a press area. Players were shuttled back to talk to the press after they were drafted. Very organized.
My mock draft was good, amazingly so. My number 2 overall pick ended up going first, and I had guessed 13 of the 23 first round picks (although not which team took them, granted)... not bad for someone who basically sat in the bleachers in a short dress.
Several teams passed on drafting. Maybe they had IRL stuff to do. I know I had to do some marital gymnastics when telling my husband that I was going to ignore him for 4 hours so I could basically cover a Madden draft. Fortunately, the Red Sox were playing the Yankees, so I got out of it for beer and pizza. Unfortunately, the Yankers won.
I'll let Carlito analyze the draft- he had some good observations while we were talking during the 4 hour event, while I spent the last three hours looking for cocaine. I'll just tell you who went where.

SPORTS & LEISURE- SFL MOCK DRAFT: Stacey Cardalines Reporting...

Hurricane Diesel and the Raiders stadium were good enough to host the SLE mock draft...
The SFL Draft is this Sunday, at the SFL Headquarters somewhere. But the SLE Mock Draft is right here, in your greedy little hands.

The SFL is set to kick off her inaugural season, and SLE has it all covered. Not only will you have me dancing into the topic from time to time, but you'll have Carlito Praga, a full-time SFL beat writer. That's a lot of avatar-based coverage right there, folks.
My job today is to attempt the impossible... forecast how all 32 SFL teams will select players in the first round of the SFL Darft.
I've been lurking and newtworking and scouting and gossiping and flirting and whatever else I had to do to gain the keen pigskin insight which I will now flex before you today.
Know that I'm guessing what position each guy will be playing. Players may even play offense and defense for all I know. I looked at all the men standing together, and the bigger ones end up in the mock draft trenches. If I have them as a quarterback, it means I saw them throwing a ball. Beyond that, the players play whatever position matches the player info I thought up.
And I know what you're thinking.... "How will Stacey know what teams are picking in what order? The SFL guards that information very closely. You're snuffed at the goal line, b*tch!"
No.

SPORTS & LEISURE: This The Crazy Blogger 'Should Have Made The All Madden- Stacey Cardalines Reporting...

Stacey wore her best t-shirt to the biggest interview of her animated career
AN INTERVIEW WITH SFL FOUNDER ROMEO TORVALAR

When people find out I'm a sportswriter, they invariably ask me about the same two or three topics. Cheerleading and wrestling come up a lot, as guys like those concepts when related to my pretty little avatar. The other question I get is "NFL style football," which has nothing to do with my looks.
Well.... scratch THAT one off the list. The majesty of SL has given birth to the SFL.
