AVIE POLL: Sexy or Unsexy Trends in Second Life

Every culture has something unique to contribute to the world. We experience many trends which mold our own ideas and perceptions. Since Second Life mirrors the real world, we collectively co-exist freely sharing our various cultures, fashion trends, music, languages, and more. The SL Enquirer set out to poll avies across the grid about some of the things trending in Second Life right now.  Names have been changed.

The KFC Trend

Apparently, It doesn’t seem to be for chicken anymore.  We are not here to avie body shame, let us put that out there at the start but with that being said, Some avies want to know what the appeal is looking like a plucked chicken and calling it sexy. Do men and or women actually like this mesh body style or is it similar to one's own real-life body shape?

This trend seems to be the most popular request to poll. It got its name because of the resemblance to a KFC chicken thigh, breasts, and drumstick. A body shape is wide and curvy then tapers down into a skinny chicken leg. Realistically, one's waist would not be that snatched in with the amount of fat deposit on the hip, thigh, and breast areas. Spongebob’s body shape would be a better example if avies are trying to “keep it real”.

Avie Poll

What do you think of avies that model themselves in SL as they are in RL? Do you think that is the true way to go or did they design your avatar for the complete opposite?

Ryan: “I love me some greasy a** chicken but damn how does chicken smell like bacon after a spin on the dancefloor?”

Bob: “Yes, we’re not here to avie shame, but that doesn’t have to mean you have to stretch out like the Stay Puft Marshmallow man either.  Don’t you have enough on your plate?

Sally: DAMN I want KFC chicken now !!!!

David: Hey some guys like it. I remember when I was first starting out in second life. My slacks were so tight I could barely walk and this nice woman approached me and offered to help. We’ve been together ever since and I love every curve! Don’t hate.

Karen: “I’m calling the police.”

Big ol’ Sloppy Boob Jobs with extra animated physics

Ann Hawkins Turner is the woman who currently holds the Guinness world records for the biggest breasts but she is in some serious competition for a title in Second Life! Since the beginning of self-body modifications, many avies especially those in the stripper and escort careers have really loaded up the breast prims. Sometimes to the point, wearing simple shirts makes their body style look like a sloppy stack of pancakes, and the added exaggerated physics for realism only adds to the secondhand embarrassment of those around them. This phenomenon has many SL residents scratching their heads. Here’s what they had to say when asking if it was sexy.

Steven: “I’m into boobs and don’t really mind a set that is a little on the larger size, but I have the draw somewhere”

Salvatore: “Maybe extreme motorboating is a sport?”

Karen: “It’s just ridiculous! I’m calling the cops!”

Mani: “I don’t think it’s sexy personally but some men seem to love it”

Louis: “Natural is better but big or small love me some t*tties!”

The Itty Bitty Mini Committee

Ok ladies, ever hear of leaving a little to the imagination? Since the beginning of Second Life, many of the club-going women seem to be in a highly competitive sport of seeing who can wear the shortest mini skirt in the club. If you are part of the mini-trend, before spending all your pole money on new outfits, here’s what some guys had to say about this never-ending trend.

Avie Poll: Is it sexy?

Conner: ”Ain’t nothing wrong with a little cheek showing.”

Lucy: “Women should be able to wear whatever she wants, people need to mind their own business omg”

Paul: “If we are keeping it real. Way too many women in SL seem to think that the shorter the skirt the more attention they will get. I see them everywhere,  can't catch a break! No. It is not sexy or cute. It just looks like a woman with low self-esteem.”

Jessica: “I think it is perfectly fine, but if they are going to wear those so short they need to make sure they wipe correctly and not leave any cling ons” Don’t even get me started when there are a bunch of them dancing in a club on a hot day!”

Darrin: “Why do I get the mental smell of a fish market?”

Karen: “That’s it I’m calling the cops! It is violating my rights!”

Larry: It is like seeing the whole cow before they cut your piece of Filet  Mignon. Not appetizing”

George: “It reminds me of being at a gentlemen's club AFTER the lights are turned on…*shudders*”

Wilted Fern and Tumble Weed Hair

Mesh is a beautiful thing. Why not upgrade? Since mesh has become a thing, more avies are stepping it up in the upgrade department but like a well-kept yard, Second Life still has some overgrown weeds that are sprinkled across the grid landscape. Sometimes the lack of lindens prevents many from moving to mesh but it doesn’t mean your hair has to suffer. The nice thing about upgrading is, not only does it make you feel better when getting a makeover, but it also adds to the virtual world environment.

Avie Poll: How do you know if you have a weed garden on your head and how can it be fixed?

Karen:  “Stop acting broke”. That hair is highly offensive and could cause emotional distress in my pomeranian who has to see that and relive the day he was snatched from the teet. I’m calling the cops!”

Pamela: “When your weave is so nappy you need a perm, it might be time to buy some new hair. Just saying…”

Sally: Girl!!! Please do us a favor and upgrade yourself and not look homeless. Time to spend those lindens!”

Janine: “Krispy Kreme wants their secret hair gel back.Looks like your mother banged a furry is not the look you should be going for. Too lazy to just hit up the freebie galaxy to find better quality hair.”

Gary: “I’m bald so I don’t have this issue but in my professional opinion as a random guy being polled. I plead with all of you who suffer from chronic bedhead in SL. My only suggestion is to detach the wig and live your best bald life. It’s free and the ladies love it! Ladies, If you are going the bald route, I suggest at  the very least tape a bow to your head or something.”

Chester Mustaches,  The Lumberjack Beard

With all the hard work mesh head creators put into the features of a hot and sexy male avatar (well some), why would they cover up all that goodness with a thick overgrowth of facial hair including crumb catchers and handlebar mustaches? We have to admit some of the stashes are a bit uncle-touchy- creepy. And let's not even mention the Ramen Noodle perms and brillo pad combos.

Avie Poll: Is it sexy?

Sara:From a lady's perspective it gets in the way. Not to mention the delicate areas. It might be time to shave.”

Glitterbomb: “If the top ain’t manscaped, I can only imagine the forest below!”

Bianca: “Manscaping isn’t only for the chest and berries. It is a must for the face as well. My only advice would be to clean the razor before moving from one piece of real estate to another.”

Beverly: “Oh nooooo. This isn’t sexy at all. The whole caveman meets Vegas-style is soooo not cool anymore. People are over the Geico caveman insurance commercials. These men can go get entangled in someone else's overgrown yard. Not mine! I keep my garden trimmed.”

Jonathan: “I once met a guy with very long, spiky red hair and a tiny red goatee...he looked a lot like Beaker from The Muppets.  Think before you drink, folks.”

Karen: “All I wanted to do was explore SL and I am being forced to see men in untamed facial hair everywhere. I can't take it anymore. I’m calling the cops because it is a fire hazard!”

The almighty strip club platform heels

Did you know there are over 200,000 reported high heel-related injuries a year in the U.S between 2001-2020? What is up with the towering platform heels? Please use caution dancing, standing, running, walking, or skipping in the sand or anywhere else for that matter. Thank goodness the reports are low in SL, the only damage done is wasting the Lindens. The groove may be in the heart but not everywhere in Second Life.

Avie Poll: Is this Sexy?

Kevin: “Why? Just why?”

Sally: “Too much lindens yes but at least I don’t have to go to the hospital after a fall like I would in real life.”

Barry: “I don’t know how to feel about platform pumps after the incident in a strip club when one of the ladies stomped on my jewels while giving me a lapdance.”

Gale: “I recall a time when I could do runway in platform feels. Now, the guys are winning the catwalk. Yes it’s sexy!”

Susan: “I am not trying to be a “Karen” but really I think it's degrading women and making them an image of being weak, we feminst are strong damn it and no matter if we can’t walk, we have the right to do as we please because we are Women hear us Roar”

Greg: “The buck stops with pregnant chicks in pumps on the dancefloor.  That’s not sexy.”

Karen: “Don’t be telling me what to wear! I’m calling the cops because you are violating my freedom!”

Furries with Boob Jobs and bikinis

It’s bad enough SL has a vermin problem and they want to add huge breast implants and bikinis to the mix. Unless furries are trying to keep up the milk supply for their huge litters, there really isn’t a reason for it.  Aside from that, putting clothes on animals is frowned upon by the more serious animal lover communities.

Avie Poll: Are furries with breast implants and bikinis sexy?

Bruce: “I can’t even look at my pet rabbit the same anymore after catching a couple of furries yiffing in the bushes behind my club”

Sally: “right-click and derender because who really wants to see that maybe in a porn film … not me.”

Tommy: “OK, I admit I always wanted to see the Little Mermaid nude when I was younger, but not anymore…”

Jared: “Shouldn’t furries have like 3 sets of teets? The whole trend is inaccurate and confusing! Maybe if I was a furry I might be into it but I wouldn't want to compete with a pack”

David: “Well it is really hard to say, I mean if the boobs are good, sure, but come on if they are saggy, then no, make them perky damn it, Perky boobs for all!”

Karen: “I don’t know why we are talking about this, a person’s boobies are their own business you are violating them making them the focus of your article, that is rude and I am calling the police!”

We have come to the conclusion there are no right or wrong answers with Trends. They come and go. Sometimes for years and then return and the younger generations think they came up with the idea. Trends become trends because at least someone is into it and others follow.  No matter how silly they are to you, someone thinks it's sexy. Next time you see these trends around Second Life, you could either act like a Karen and cry about it or mind your own business, not everyone thinks your style is cute.

Taro Islands - Water Fun Stacey Cardalines Reporting

March is probably a bit early for me to visit summery sims, but sometimes even an avatar needs to get away from winter. Spring is close, but not close enough. If you feel that way as well, I have a sim for you.

I feel bad writing about Taro Island's water sports. Taro is actually the name of the sim creator, who I haven't run into yet. "Taro" means "strength" in Japanese. Taro is either Japanese or into Japanese stuff, and the sim reflects it. There are beautiful and detailed pagodas, gardens, lighthouses, and artwork all over the island... and I walked right past it as I headed for the sailboats and the diving board.

I showed up, as I try to do when practicing journalism, dressed conservatively- dress, hose, heels - but I was in a bathing suit 5 minutes after getting there. All the Japan stuff is cool - I saw much of it when I was taking a balloon ride tour of the premises- but I am the Sports And Leisure editor of the SL Enquirer, and I take the Sports part very seriously. That Japanese aspect of the island can get circled back to later, by our Into Asian Stuff writer. I'm there for Sports. I'm wearing a scuba suit as I type this, in case the reader doubts my hardcore sportswriting credentials.

Taro Island has some fun stuff to play with. I started off at the Diving Board, because if you might die doing journalism, you may as well get it out of the way quickly. I can get a paycheck out of a "Sportswriter Crippled In Diving Accident" article without describing the sim at all, and I can find my way back once my legs are working to pick up a second paycheck at the same sim for a future article. It all went well enough on the diving board, though. As you can see in one of the pictures, I nailed a Swan Dive right where I had my camera aimed. They have a plethora of dives that you can try out, and I'd have shown them to you if it were easier to photograph yourself in motion from a lower height camera angle. I got lucky with my pic of the swan dive.

Next stop? Water slide. The water slide at Taro Island is very much influenced by the corkscrew. I was unable to even get an adequate picture of me doing this, because as hard as it may be to get a picture of yourself in motion off a diving board, it's harder if you are circling down a water slide. Lanai is paying me more because I'm funny and I have a nose for fun sims. I'm a hack photographer. Any good photography I do is fortunate.

You can see the water slide in the background of my windsurfing shot. I got on the windsurfer, easily enough, which is more than I can do in real life. The sports where you go in the water are fun and easy to use. The only complaint I have is that you really can't go offshore too much. I aimed the windsurfer right for some heavy surf I saw on the horizon, but I stopped going forward and started going right 50 meters offshore. It was still a hoot, though... just could have been more of a hoot.

They also have a sailboat, but I didn't try that. The windsurfer did the same stuff, and I looked cooler piloting it around. This is an important consideration when the writer is also the model. I never skip Leg Day, and I like my readers to be aware of this.

I finished off with Scuba Diving, which was the best part. You get a whole scuba suit, you jump on a poseball and it takes you on an underwater tour. You can't control where you go, but based on how I handled the windsurfer, that's probably for the best. They have fish, flora, killer whales, a ruined city and whatever other things you might see underwater.

If that isn't enough for you, might I recommend walking the grounds. It's a good-sized sim, Taro put it together well, and it is very beautiful. It'd make for a lovely walk, and checking out all the little nooks and crannies would eat up a bit of time. I may slink back in a while and tour that part with the camera. I've already mentioned that I love doubling up on paychecks from a single sim. I could probably get another article out of Taro Island. I even have a Kimono.

Either way, I'd strongly recommend checking out Taro Island. I'm Stacey Cardalines, and I am wrapped head to toe in wet neoprene.

GeekSpeak subject for Saturday 13th March at noon SLT: Who would you take to the moon?

Recently a Japanese billionaire said that he intends to take six people on a trip around the moon.  He has asked for applications.  Who do you think should go?  Painters, poets, scientists?  Young people, old people?  Would you go, if you could?

What effect will the moon trip have on the people who go?  Will it inspire them to make great art? Will it make them value our planet more?

Since we are talking about the moon, what will its future be like?  NASA wants to land people in 2023.  Will people live there?  What bases will we develop?  Will we ever look at the moon and see a completely changed landscape?  Would that be a bad thing?

Come and talk about our not so distant (well, only 384,000 kilometers) future!

IM Vulcan Viper, who teaches a meditation class every Wednesday at 1pm SLT in the GeekSpeak auditorium, if you have ideas for new subjects.

SPOTLIGHT ON UPBEATZ SHAPES - A BUSINESS THAT IS IN LOVE WITH THE SHAPE OF YOU! - ROXY MYSTIC REPORTING

Got a new mesh head and/or body and you are not sure where to start? Or perhaps you are looking for a fresh new look? We've all been there, tweaking our shapes and making continuous adjustments resulting most often with mediocre results. Some of us manage to create a decent form but bento can be finicky at times and creating that perfect look can be very time-consuming and discouraging too. A good shape is so important; it's what defines us in this pixel world. Unfortunately like in real life (RL), there is shallowness and so many of us are judged by how we look even in Second Life (SL).  UpBeatZ Shapes can save us many headaches! They offer reasonably priced shapes for Catwa, Genus, Lelutka, and many more! Their prices are mega affordable at 99L per shape and each come with their own styling cards but what hit me the most about UpBeatZ Shapes is their motto "You are beautiful, You are Strong, You Are Loved" those positive affirmations are needed and appreciated even in SL. Kudos to the owner Mel for recognizing that such positivity is important no matter what world we live in. Meeting the owner Mel for the first time was amazing! She is so passionate, kind, and very friendly. I really wanted to know more about her and UpBeatZ Shapes.

Roxy Mystic: It is such a pleasure to be able to meet with you again Mel and learn more about UpBeatZ Shapes. I have to admit that I am so impressed with you as a person and how you are running this business. It is obvious that you have a big heart, even the name is upbeat! I need to ask where does this amazing positive energy comes from and why is it so important for it to be shared here in SL?

ღMelღMelღ:  That is a very good question. I do not see SL just as some pixel world, I see each person here as a heart that needs attention and love that deserves care and equal attention. In my own personal life history, I learned that you must love yourself and feel good about yourself and sometimes you need a few inspiring words to help stay positive (hence my motto) because my motto is so true. Beauty comes from within first. I have never considered myself as having the most beautiful shapes here in SL but I put every effort into making them as beautiful as I can.  I do see myself as offering others a chance to feel more beautiful with a new shape. But I want each person to know they are already beautiful too!

Roxy Mystic: I am sure you did not wake up one day and decide you were going to make shapes in Second Life, there must have been a progression of sorts. Can you describe your journey? And when were UpBeatZ Shapes officially started?

ღMelღMelღ:  I was inspired by watching many other shape creators in SL. I have always loved design work outside of SL and in SL as well. I enjoyed building but just never went anywhere with it. I love shopping and always enjoyed experimenting and playing with skins; believe me when I say I shop for tons of skins! So one day, I started playing more and more with the shapes and thought well, there are so many new people coming into SL that perhaps cannot afford expensive shapes and even those already here don't want to spend too much on shapes. So I decided to keep my prices low and I love knowing people are smiling when they put on a shape that I designed and feel good with it. It warms my heart when they message me and say they are happy. When they are happy I am happy and that is how it should be.

Roxy Mystic: I have so much respect for shape designers. Not only are you designing a face and also sometimes a body but you are also creating a full avatar look!  I can only imagine the investment involved such as skins, hair, and eyes that are needed to bring a shape to perfection. Can you describe the process without giving us the recipe? For example, how long does it take from the beginning to the end in getting a shape to market? Do you have a vision before you start?

ღMelღMelღ:  I don't usually have a vision of what the shape will look like, I normally start working on the head first then work my way down. Shapes vary from start to finish some are more difficult than others. Depending on the mesh head, some take more time to shape than others as there are more tools and huds to work with. It can take anywhere from 2 hours to a full day sometimes to make a great shape and get it boxed to sell.

Roxy Mystic:  Second Life has so many mesh head and body options out there, it is very difficult to decide which is best. Is there a body or head that you prefer working with? And if yes, can you tell us which ones and why?

ღMelღMelღ: Another good question and one that is honestly hard to answer. I think I'd have to swing in the direction of LeLutka though. I find the LeLutka heads easy to work with as well as easier to shape. Don't get me wrong, I do love a good challenge with the other heads at times and I am often challenged with Lelutka too! Catwa's HDPRO is amazing as well and it offers so many fun new tools for shaping their hud. However, skins are not available nearly as much for Catwa HDPRO as they are for LeLutka.

Roxy Mystic:  It is important for our SL Enquirer readers to know that UpBeatZ Shapes focuses on both women and men shapes of every culture and lifestyle. I think that is amazing and very important. I will share with you why this is paramount.  In 2019 New World Notes blogged that traffic and users of SL were from the following top ten countries: United States, Brazil, Turkey, United Kingdom, Germany, Spain, Canada, France, Netherlands, and Italy. I am sure these statistics have changed a bit since then but it still gives you an idea as to how diverse we are in this pixeled world. Does this surprise you?

ღMelღMelღ: This does not surprise me at all, in fact at UpBeatZ Shapes we've focused our shapes on every race and culture right from the start.  We want everyone to know that equality is so important to us. I am so excited and so proud to announce that we have a new line of LGBTQ shapes coming soon as well as a new line of Breast Cancer Survivors shapes.  We want every man and woman of every race, culture and from all walks of life to feel welcome and right at home here at UpBeatZ Shapes. We are strong advocates in raising awareness to end Domestic Violence. Domestic Violence is never EVER acceptable. Roxy this is one big world and with the pandemic going on right now and so many people being forced to stay home, we are all in here together. This is where we all really need to show our love and support to one another, no matter our race, culture, sexual choices, it doesn't matter, UpBeatZ and I want everyone to know you are Loved.

Roxy Mystic: Very well said Mel and I totally agree. Let's talk about your prices, good heavens! UpBeatZ Shapes has such amazing prices! The shapes are modifiable and you also provide a styling card as well. I cannot believe you are selling them for 99L! I need to ask why?

ღMelღMelღ: Why not? Why do I need to break someone's pocket? I am not here to gain a dollar, I am here to gain a smile.

Roxy Mystic: Mel, you are clearly putting in lots of hours, investment and hard work into UpBeatZ Shapes and to be honest with your low prices I get the feeling this is not about money as you just said you prefer seeing smiles. Why are you doing this and please share with us your dreams and goals.

ღMelღMelღ:  You are correct Roxy. While making money is great for everyone and yes I have invested lots to get UpBeatZ Shapes started.  My dream is to be able to offer over 1,000 shapes in a year from now and then be able to relax knowing that there are tons of people smiling and saying I am Beautiful, I am Strong, I am Loved!

Roxy Mystic: I noticed that many of your shapes on your vendor boards have smiling faces. Can you explain why?

ღMelღMelღ:  I love this question. First, let me clarify when I sell my shapes, I make sure when I include a smiling shape photo in my package that the client knows it is done for a photo/promotional purpose. Unfortunately, huds do not permit smiles of this nature on our mesh heads. So to answer your question, we always see shapes for sale with normal and limited animations; we walk into stores and all we see are straight serious faces.  Even though there are welcome signs and we sometimes see store bots welcoming us, I wanted something different by displaying pictures of happy-looking avatars. When my customers come in, I want them to instantly feel happy. They say a smile is infectious and contagious so hopefully seeing this makes everyone happy when they visit UpBeatZ Shapes. That is what all of this is about, being happy. I just want everybody happy.

Roxy Mystic: I always like my last question to be a little fun! Would you call yourself a shape-shifter? Also, do you have a shape that is you or do you change your look all the time?

ღMelღMelღ:  Well, funny you ask this because there are times I'll make a shape and say "I seriously do not want to take this one off and claim it as my own". Ten minutes later it's boxed and I have no choice but to start another shape. It's a cycle, then the next day I've fallen in love with several other shapes. There is one I have made recently that is my favorite but if I say her name I will jinx myself and end up making another that I will like more!

UpBeatZ Shapes is quite an amazing business with an equally amazing owner who only wishes to spread happiness and smiles with the avatar shapes she designs.  I'd like to emphasize that UpBeatZ Shapes are proud supporters of Stop Domestic Violence and Breast Cancer.  As mentioned earlier, the designer's motto is "You are beautiful, You are Strong, You are Loved" those positive affirmations are very visible at the store and certainly welcoming.  The owner Mel likes to say that she is proud to offer these unbelievable prices of great quality and love. There are currently two locations with more coming and you can also find them at the Vanity Fair event from March 15th to April 8th. It's certainly worth the visit or in this case, come over and share your smile!

FRANK’S JAZZ CLUB: SETTING THE STANDARD FOR ROMANCE AND ELEGANCE IN SECONDLIFE – JOSH (THOMAS1 BELLIC) REPORTING

Men in Tuxedos.  Women dressed in all their finery.  Couples gliding effortlessly across acres of dance floor. On the stage…some of the finest entertainers, vocalists, and instrumentalists available anywhere on the grid.  Is this a Dream?

Close.  Really Close. You found yourself at the iconic “Frank’s Jazz”. Often imitated. Elegance in Pixels,  Franks has been a staple in SecondLife almost since the first days of the SecondLife Grid.

The other night I happened to pop into Frank’s while Mikael Grantly was tickling the ivories.  Over in the corner, I saw the owners, Frank and William, conferring about their next event.  I introduced myself, and they both graciously agreed to chat with me for a few minutes.

Thomas1 Bellic (Josh) (JB):  What were your impressions the first time you visited Franks?

MrSinatraFrank (Frank):  Whoa... Look at all these people!

William Batson (William): Laughs, yeah, we're gonna need a bigger boat, Frank!    First impression every time I rezz is honestly a big smile that after all these years how many people just come, hang out, chat and have a few laughs with friends or meet someone new.  Such a great thing to see, especially in these turbulent times.

JB:  I thought Franks closed up shop when Nancee left?  How is it that we are fortunate enough to have Frank's Jazz back with us today?

William:  Frank's Jazz is owned and operated by MrSinatraFrank (Frank) & William Batson formerly Gymmy Sinatra, the original founder, creator and owner of Frank's Jazz in Second Life.  The vision and purpose of Frank's Jazz in Second Life has never changed from day one - That is to create a fun, welcoming environment for all to enjoy, explore, share and above all be able to leave with a smile and enjoy a little escape of their own with other great people.

As with all things in life, change is constant and we do wish Nanceee all the best in her journey in the next chapters in life, however, the story here has not been written for many and Frank's will be apart of their story too!

Frank & William partnered up on the Frank's Jazz sims to be a part of and ensure the experience of Frank's Jazz that has touched so many over the years remains a part of those who wish it to be.

JB:  Tell us about your support staff here?  Who does it take to keep Franks humming?

Frank:  You're only as good as the team you surround yourself with.  Will and I might get credit because we pay the tier fees, but it truly is 100% our incredible team who dedicate so much to bring the place to life and make magic for so many who come to Frank's to enjoy.   We truly are blessed to have assembled such an amazing and talented group of entertainers, hosts and managers all working together to create the Frank's magic.

JB:  How has Franks survived after countless Ballrooms in SL have failed in the past.  What is the "Franks Difference"?

William:  I would have to agree with Frank and add to it by saying the Frank's difference as you call it has always been the talented and dedicated men and women past and present who have put so much into making Frank's such a special part of the SL landscape.  What makes Frank's Jazz?  Easy: The people do! Those who bring it to life and those who call it home.

JB:  "Banned at Franks" used to be a label worn with pride by some ladies here, even for the smallest infractions in attire.  How have you dealt with these issues under your management?

Frank:  This one is truly legendary and honestly a bit funny to look back on.  Did Frank's get a bit over the top with the fashion police - you bet! However, instead of working out well, it grew a life of its own and people came often trying to push every limit until this became an SL sport and badge of honor if you were "banned from Frank's".  Today, we're all grown-ups and everyone knows to dress nice  and cover the bits when going to a dress-up place in SL - it's not complicated :)   It's very rare for someone to be dis-invited or unwelcome at Frank's and 100% of the time it will be because they came wanting this outcome and not simply for a wardrobe malfunction!  We truly work hard to find a way to include everyone who wants to be a part of Frank's in all we have to offer.

JB:  Just how popular is Franks, anyway.  What sort of traffic will you have here in a typical month?

William:  Frank's Jazz is in operation 24/7 providing music, entertainment, DJs, dancing plus a fun and engaging environment to people from over 123 countries around the world with busy times and increases in traffic depending on time of day in those parts of the world as well as various holidays and events in those countries.  There is always traffic and a fun experience to be shared at Frank's jazz.

JB:  You seem to have made the crossover, catering to both European and American Audiences.  When are your busiest times of day?

Frank:  Difficult question.  I think it depends.  It's always busy in the evening, after work and dinner, people are relaxing and enjoying some time online.  However, Frank's is popular all over the world, so it is evening always somewhere!  Evening in Europe is busy which is mid-day SLT Like evening in Asia and the Pacific/Australia.  In SL time, this makes our busiest time of day always :)   This only makes the experience of Frank's Jazz more fun and engaging for all to be able to meet and socialize with so many from all over.

JB:  Who is your target audience for Franks?

William:   Although SL has grown and changed much over the last 15+ years of Frank's Jazz our target audience hasn't changed much and is the same as our goals here in SL.   Frank's Jazz has always been for like-minded people from all corners of the world, looking for an up-scale, world-class experience, a nice time with friends, or social experience with others to meet, share and interact in a place of comfort, fun, and style.   Every time everyone gets it right, there's nothing like it and we all log out smiling.

JB:  What do you see in Frank’s future?  Any plans for expansion?  Or opening multiple clubs?   What is the future of Franks?

William:  Frank's Jazz has always had a life of its own and it's apparent by any grid search how many places out there want to be Frank's, it's flattering actually and does make our entire team smile every time we see it.    Where we go next always depends on the wonderful people who support our endeavor to create a fun, engaging, and wonderful place to escape here in SL.  We have no desire to be the region tycoons or SL celebrities - that's small-minded thinking.  Sure, we made the decision to build it for all to enjoy but most understand it's definitely not free, Linden Labs never was a charitable institution :)  So as long as we have the support and goodwill of the people who together make Frank's life, then we are 'all-in' to keep on providing the very best experience on the grid for those who wish to be a part of it.

JB: Is there anything else you would like to share with our readers.

Frank:  Thank you so much for taking the time and interest in sharing a small piece of the Frank's Jazz story and thank you to your readers for taking the time to read about us. We hope you take away a little bit of our history with you and if you haven't already, decide to join us and be a part of writing all the many chapters yet to be written.  We are confident your story is in there too and just waiting to be told.

So, there you have it, folks.  If you haven’t visited Franks in the last few weeks, you’ve been away too long.  Grab your sweetheart and head on over to the incomparable Franks Jazz.

Be there!.  Aloha.

You’ll be glad you did

JB
