Top 5 Venues based on traffic and Entertainment – Camury Reporting...

Second Life is home to a large number of virtual clubs, beaches and inworld role-playing communities that are among the leading platforms for the entertainment of avatars. These venues are often densely populated and record significant traffic in real time.

~SDI~ Skinny Dip Inn and Nude Beach Resort & Dance Club

Skinny Dip Inn is one of the busiest beaches on SL with amongst the highest daily traffic numbers of Second Life. It's a beautiful adult island resort featuring a friendly and fun nude beach. Swimwear is permitted for the modest. You can usually find many people dancing and enjoying the flirty hosts and sexy DJs, events and live shows. SDI boasts a shopping precinct selling everything from clothing to genitalia , a general dance beach, another beach that’s more secluded, as well as a resort. When you first teleport in, you find yourself in the middle of the shopping precinct along with any number of other avatars that have congregated around the landing area. It's a bit of a crush zone, and can be a little intimidating especially for beginners.

Average daily traffic: 100.000 plus

Sim Design: Nice tropical feel, once you get away from the market.

Lagginess: Somewhat laggy when crowded, which is often.

Talking in Local or IM: Visitors and participants of the group, jabber in local chat.

How good is the venue to meet someone: 8 on a scale of 1-10.

Sexy Nude beach

It's a nude beach for all who love fun and nudism in a very popular beach in SL. On this beach, you can meet other people to chat, flirt or find romance. You'll find a spot for dancing or you can go windsurfing, paragliding, go for a boat drive, or even enjoy intimate spaces  for private moments with that someone special.  Of course if you want to relax on your own the choice is yours.

The region is well established with an eclectic feel, they even feature a pyramid Often you will encounter impromptu parties springing up here and there.  The general layout of the sim doesn't seem
to be very organised, but hey it works. If you're looking for unadulterated fun you'll find it here.

Average daily traffic: 78.000 plus

Sim Design:  Beach tiki. Some parts and the overall layout are not really that special.

Lagginess: Somewhat laggy when crowded, which is often.

Talking - Local or IM: Not too much Local chatter. Chances are you'll receive many IM's while exploring the sim.

How good is the place to meet someone: 9 on a scale of 1-10.

Syn City Urban Roleplay

If you're looking for the excitement of roleplay then Sync City could
be just the place for you. Welcome to the dark side of urban roleplay. Pick up an OOC tag, and don't forget a notepad for the rules and general tips. Dive into the sandy landscape with dark alleys and abandoned buildings, Violence is a given.  .  Syn City has dark urban themes including: Mafia, urban gang crime, free sex, kidnap, rape and torture. Expect the unexpected.

If you want to join the game, send a request to one of the group leaders to define the role and character you want to play in this immense world. The most recent events are monitored by "Hathian Observer", a newspaper that can be picked up at various places on the main SIM.

Average daily traffic: 79.000 plus

Sim Design:  The city is impressive to say the least. Each pix elated brick paints the picture of a

city that has seen better days.

Lagginess: there was no lag while I was there

Talking Local or IM: No chatter for visitors (you need to define a role and get into the game to talk to someone.)

How good is the place to meet someone: 2 on a scale of 1-10 for visitors (you need to define your role and play the game if you want to meet someone.)

Franks Jazz Club

Jazz is not very popular genre of music but it is interesting to note
that many avatars are drawn to the jazz clubs. Fish out your glad
rags and go to the Franks Jazz Club. The place is a dance ballroom
and meeting point for men and women seeking romance with a hint
of elegance. There is consistent traffic. The atmosphere is romantic. Sensual sounds set the scene, attracting avatars in search of relaxation, music and romance. When I was there, they were playing love songs

The venue is an entertainment complex, installed on a single island region. You can shop to your hearts desire at the fabulous Galleria Mall which caters for shopping for all tastes.

Average daily traffic: 77.000 plus

Quality of Sim Design:  the ambient light is very bright, some couples may feel exposed. Style 50's it seemed to me.

Lagginess: Very laggy!

Talking Local or IM: virtually non-existent interaction in local chat, which might be time zone related.
It appeared that the couples were otherwise occupied in IM.

How good is the place to meet someone: 9 on a scale of 1-10.

URL: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Franks%20Place%202/239/125/23/

Sweethearts Jazz & Romance club

Sweethearts is not as formal as Franks but they do prefer you to
wear appropriate clothing. The entrance makes you feel as if you're
arrived at a Hollywood gala! The hosts and hostesses are there to
entertain visitors. There is a dance floor for singles and another for
couples. The big yacht anchored off the dance floor sets the tone: laid back, funky, informal, friendly.  Inside there are dark corners with chairs to sit. Girls you're going to have to take the initiative here if you want a dance partner.  The men are inclined to be the strong silent type.

Average daily traffic: 74000 plus

Sim Design:  Old style of hollywood it seemed to me.

Lagginess: Oh yes, very laggy!

Talking in Local or IM: the Staff of the club talk all the time with visitors.

How good is the place to meet someone: 8 on a scale of 1-10.( The girls need to take the first step though.)

A Preview of Ms Sweetheart Pageant Finalists- Rere Sandalwood Reporting...

Muhammad Ali once said, “A rooster crows only when it sees the light. Put him in the dark and he'll never crow….I have seen the light and I'm crowing.” Like the rooster that crows in the light, the 2015 Ms. Sweethearts Pageant brings forth a joyful sound that foreshadows Spring, and all the wonderful things intrinsic in it.

The Ms. Sweetheart’s Pageant will take place on Saturday, March 14, 2015 at 10 AM SLT.  Established in August 2010, the Ms. Sweetheart’s Pageant, according to organizer and owner Shannon Bramlington, was started as a way to display the beauty of the female guests that frequent the Sweetheart’s Jazz Club.  The winner of this pageant not only wins a prize of $100,00L, they also win the Ms. Sweetheart’s Pageant crown, as well as a generous array of designer gowns from SL’s most prestigious designers.  Bramlington asserts, “The Ms. Sweethearts Pageant is a search for the Sweetest of Hearts in Second Life. We do look at beauty but the emphasis is on class and grace, intelligence and the ability to represent Sweethearts as a romantic venue.”

Dolly Warden and LADYROSECHERRY SERENITY:  The Finalists That Keep Moving Forward
In keeping with the Pageant’s search for the Sweetest of Hearts, there are five finalists that will compete for the Ms. Sweetheart’s Pageant Title.  One of those finalist is Dolly Warden.  Though Warden is still recovering from the Real Life loss of her father, she continues to dedicate herself to the pageant in his honor.  Warden explains:  “I am a very hard worker….a good leader who learns and leads by example.  I am very genuine with how I love Sweethearts, and how I feel about being the best representative for Sweethearts that I can be.  Most of all, I am not a quitter. My father just passed away, we buried him yesterday; and although I had to miss some things, I didn't let it stop me.  It is a positive thing that has helped me deal with the bad at this moment.”  Like her Father, Warden is a US Veteran, and is deeply committed to family and long lasting friendships.  Warden contends that she “….was lucky and honored to have such a great dad.  The funeral was beautiful with full military honors...”

What is amazing about Dolly Warden is not only her willingness to share this information with the SL Enquirer, but her willful determination to continue her participation in the 2015 Ms. Sweethearts Pageant despite the loss of her father.  Warden reiterates her determination by saying, “I like to think my father would be glad I didn't give up.  He knew I was in the pageant and was proud of me… all I can do now is honor him in every way I can [because] good parents are the best blessing we can have.”
Warden’s persistence to stay in the pageant—despite the loss of her father—is commendable, and mirrors the strong work ethic present in all the Ms. Sweetheart’s Pageant Finalists. In fact, their work ethic is so strong, that not even the Boston Blizzard of 2015 could stop them from competing.

Rosie O’Grady, better known as LADYROSECHERRY SERENITY, epitomizes this claim.  Born and raised in Boston in real life, Serenity’s endurance is currently being tested in the midst of a blizzard so intense, that it has paralyzed major roads and completely submerged cars in over 65 feet of snow.  Serenity says, “…we are having lots of blizzards here, [with] so much snow you can make an igloo…and [to top it off], I have to shovel it. I am sick of looking at the weather at this point….”

Yet despite being tired of the horrid Boston weather, Serenity’s dream is to be the best model in Second Life.  “[I believe that it is important] to never give up and be the best that you can be.  None of us [are] perfect.”

Both LADYROSECHERRY SERENITY and Dolly Warden enjoy meeting new people in their SL time, as well as love being creative in many different ways.  Warden explains, “I really enjoy the fashion aspect of SL.  This pageant gives me an opportunity to have even more fun with fashion as well.”

LADYROSECHERRY SERENITY echoes Warden’s sentiment, but adds, “I enjoy helping newbies and people in general [in both Real Life and in Second Life].

Ms. Sweetheart Pageant Finalists and the Friends They Have
Gwennie Oldrich chuckles as she recalls her motivation for entering into the pageant.  “Honestly, my best friend and I were joking around about how the pageant needed an underdog who could add a fresh, new approach to being Ms. Sweetheart's, so finally I decided why not and put in my application.  Though once I was accepted as a hopeful, I actually got serious and tried to be what I thought a good Ms. Sweetheart’s [contestant] would be.”

When asked if she had expected to become a finalist, Oldrich says, “Never in a million years.  I figured I’d get in the top 10 but never expected to end up in the top 5. [In fact,] I was completely speechless….”

Like Oldrich, BroadwayGirl1 Resident did not expect to become a finalist either.  “When I found out that I was a finalist, I was so happy that I was in RL crying, and was telling my family and friends on here [about my becoming a finalist].

BroadwayGirl1 also relied on the support of her friends to aid in her motivation to enter the Ms. Sweetheart’s Pageant, just like Oldrich did. BroadwayGirl1 explains, “I was curious about what it would be like to be in a pageant. I never did pageants in RL or here. Also, with the urging and support of my friends, I feel like they would support me throughout the pageant and would support me no matter what happens…”

Since neither BroadwayGirl1 nor Oldrich had ever participated in pageants prior, they both feel like they can bring a fresh perspective to the Ms. Sweetheart’s competition.  One of these fresh perspectives includes SL hobbies; Oldrich loves playing SL Games, as well as routinely being around her friends.  “[In fact, I love] hanging around [and] chatting with my friends at home and at Sweethearts.” She continues, “[I also love] playing Greedy, raising KittyCats and participating in 7 seas fishing tournaments at our Tiny Empires Kingdom every chance I get.”

In contrast, BroadwayGirl1 demonstrates a fresh perspective by describing her favorite SL hobby of all: hanging out at the Sweetheart’s Club. “I love going to Sweethearts. It has been my home since I started SL and it is the only club that I go to. I love dancing on the dance pads with my friend and socializ[ing] with them. I love going to Sweethearts and danc[ing] with my fiancé there as well.”

While both ladies have friends in and outside Sweetheart’s, they have also successfully made friends with the other finalists involved in the pageant.  Oldrich says, “I was friends with one of [the pageant finalists] before, and have chatted a lot with another one since joining the pageant.  And yes, once we’re not all so busy, I can see [the creation of long lasting friendships with the pageant participants] being a possibility.”  In keeping with this comradery of friendship, BroadwayGirl1 offers the following words of advice to all the finalists:  “…just be yourself and treat others the way you would want to be treated; treat others the way that they would like to be treated, not only during the pageant, but also through their journey in sl.”

Finalist BELLAROSE and Organizer Shannon Bramlington: Rising Up To the Challenge
Besides the comradery of friendship, another interesting thing about the Ms. Sweetheart’s Pageant finalists is their ability to rise up to the Pageant’s competitiveness.  While it is one thing to rise up to this challenge once, it is another thing entirely to rise up to the challenge a second time around. BELLAROSE does this with ease, moreso because she was in the Ms. Sweetheart’s pageant last year, and came in third place.  She says, “I love the elegance and beauty of the pageant, and [have] always wanted to participate in one!”

Organizer Shannon Bramlington reiterates this sentiment by describing how the Ms. Sweetheart’s Pageant is not solely about beauty, it’s about looking for the winner that embodies grace, elegance, intelligence, maturity, and poise. “As the pageant creator,” Bramlington contends that “…it's given me the freedom to invent new ways to challenge the ladies, to push the pageant world out of its normal pretty box into a search for the total package...” Bramlington continues, “I love watching what I see in my head come to life on the runway…as the ladies walk by, I am so proud of them and the journey the have been on for months…”

This pride could not be vividly affirmed enough than when BELLAROSE found out she had become a finalist for the second time.  “I was ecstatic, proud and very happy,” she explains.  “[In fact] I am looking forward to the final competition [because] I love the challenge and exhilaration of the contest.”

Like the other finalists involved in the Ms. Sweetheart’s Pageant, BELLAROSE has also received more than the finalist title.  “I have received many exquisite and beautiful gowns by the fabulous designer, MARIANELA.  The owners, Shannon and Blake Hambleton, offered a free education in modeling at REGAL ACADEMY, which teaches an assortment of professional modeling and presentation skills, ones that are vital for anyone who aspires to be a model.”

The recent addition of the Regal Academy to the finalists’ winnings is one of many improvements implemented by Shannon Bramlington.  She also contends that the Ms. Sweetheart’s Pageant has added, in the past few years, the runway aspect to their competition. “We hope to grow the pageant even bigger every year [because] it’s come a long way since being a photo contest.”

Besides aiming for the successful growth of the pageant, Bramlington is also very interested in making sure the sole winner of the Pageant is heavily involved in giving back to the SL community.  Bramlington reiterates, “The Ms. Sweethearts Winner is highly involved in our charity events for Alzheimer Dementia, as well as for Creations for Parkinson's. We also donate anywhere from $100,000 to $150,000 linden to each charity from the profits of the pageant.”

As impressive as these numbers are, it is even more impressive of how each finalist embodies this sentiment.  BELLAROSE states that as a finalist, it is important to “….be true to your intention, and to do so, one must be true to one’s self.  If you are going to compete for the star at the top, you must stay the path and never give up.

BELLAROSE continues:  “Second, one must realize that no person is an island.  To be at the head of that community, we must truly represent that community by being a part of it.  To be a part of it, we must practice the basic virtues of giving, helping, and being kind and caring to others.  Why? Because without these simple virtues we cannot lead, nor can we represent…”

Getting Swept Away at Sweethearts by Ccoursey….

Sweethearts Jazz Club lives up to its name.  Shannon Bramlington and Blake Hambleton run Sweethearts as a business, but with heads in the clouds.  Inspired by her real life dreams Shannon is a true romantic, every column, every perfectly textured table cloth, ever rose placed among the scenery are inspirations of romance.  She and Blake together in SL and RL, set out to make dreams happen.  From budding romances to renewing sparks, Sweethearts Jazz is a stirring environment for romance.

With over five years on the grid and the word of mouth, Sweethearts Jazz is a well-known formal venue.  2013, they swept the avi choice awards with seven nominations they carried home four titles:  Favorite Group, Favorite Jazz Club, Favorite DJ, and Favorite Host.  You may question how one club made such an impression, then you need to visit.  The hosts are friendly, welcoming, and able to keep a comfortable conversation flowing in local chat.  They don’t do this alone, although they are wonderful, I’ve found even at the oddest hours that guests are just as laid back and chatty.  I’ve witnessed avi’s of all ages, new and old, some time and again visiting Sweethearts Jazz.  According to Blake Hambleton this is exactly what Sweethearts Jazz is.

“Sweethearts is the most fun you can have without leaving your chair and the actual room you're in, in the house.  The folks here are down to earth, friendly, ACCEPTING above all and tolerant of others differences and if you're looking for a place to call home....we've always got room for you.”

There is a dress code within Sweethearts: Formal.  However, if you come unprepared there are plenty of options on the sim. From the famous Azul to the enticing Naughty & Nice, shops are as well put together as the club itself.  The shops are elegant with a variety of designs and options.  Shannon Bramlington decorated and built everything with a careful eye on details.

Looking for a place to watch the action, maybe role play with your own sweetheart?  She offers that as well.  On the balcony patio you can find elegant tables set out so you can cam around or conduct your date with a touch of privacy.  Looking for an elegant background for a picture of yourself or a classic couple shot?  She has many hidden angles.  It is amazing what camming around will find you, the moon in the roof was completely unexpected, yet cute surprise.

Another surprise I found was the ability to find the romance everywhere you looked. Red Patton, the dj manager, brings that point to life in her profile.  She found the man of her life, even challenges one to come find their own.  She spared a moment to talk to me and share the secret of finding the awesome dj’s.

“We look for a good voice, great music and a awesome personality that can get along with our guests, and most of all likes to have fun!!”

I asked how she would introduce someone who had never been to Sweethearts.
“I recommend it to them and let them know that it is a very friendly place to be,  the people that come here are very nice, and the staff is awesome always ready to  lend a hand if they can.”
I couldn’t possibly write an article or go to Sweethearts Jazz without meeting another of their most famous personalities, Auntie Lockjaw.  Radiating a fun personality, she was a pleasure to talk with.  As General Manager, she is considered “in the know”, so I asked her as well how one would introduce Sweethearts Jazz.

“Sweethearts is more than a club. It is a home away from home for many of our guests. Here they can relax and listen to music, Chat with friends, or dance.”
I do believe the level of comfort here is equal to that some would feel at their own homes with the way conversation eases from the harsh work week into the discussion of easy music.  Talking to Ty Reeee, that exact sentiment was expressed.

“We are a romantic venue… with a very helpful staff.  We are a PG sim so that the atmosphere is very normal and well controlled… As far as being a new person here if there is any questions they would have, they are more than welcome to ask.  (We) would try very hard to make them feel comfortable and help introduce them so they feel at home.”

Sweethearts is not just a club, nor just a place for romance, it is a place that makes girl’s dreams of winning a pageant, being crowned, being recognized as a Sweetheart among the population happen.  Well known is their Ms. Sweethearts competition.  With over thirty rules, up to a hundred contestants, and plenty of spectators the girls of Sweethearts compete to carry the crown and become the next Ms. Sweetheart.  The Ms. Sweetheart is expected to be a woman of grace, class, poise, and elegance, showing only her best among Second Life during her three month reign.  For over a month women have signed up, displaying their pictures and biographies to be voted on among the guests of Sweethearts Jazz, with Sweetheart days allowing them to compete for small prizes throughout, the amount of general public votes will narrow down to only five.

Voting is expected to wrap up this month, narrowing it down to the final five.  These five will then compete in the final pageant, answering questions before judges and audience of why they would make the best choice to be the next Ms. Sweethearts.  Kennedy Fairlane stepped up to be the current Ms. Sweetheart.  Kennedy was wonderful to talk to when I had the opportunity before; I can understand why she carries the title.  To all the current contestants I wish luck.

Sweethearts Jazz has its many facets, including charity work.  Each year Sweethearts Jazz is involved with at least three charities: The American Alzheimers Association Charity Fundraiser, Relay For Life, and their Parkinson’s Fundraiser.  They also have a competition every year among their hosts and hostesses called Hosting Heroes.  They compete against each other in various hosting activities and the winner/s donate their linden prize to the charity of their choice in Second Life.   This month with a tentative date of January 27th, is the ALZ event which is Creations for Parkinson’s.  With their yearly charity events Sweethearts is looking to make a difference in the lives of the people of Second Life as well as those less fortunate outside of Second Life.

I recommend visiting Sweethearts for the romantic atmosphere, plus at the moment you could make a difference in so many ways to someone.  Voting is open, the Ms. Sweetheart Final Five is close at hand and you could help decide who makes it.  The ALZ should be fun and exciting and it is always a good feeling to do something charitable.

Elita Wardell Parx, 2013 Avi Choice award winning hostess, invites you.
“Welcome to Sweethearts.  I really hope you enjoy your stay with us and please make yourself at home.....if you need anything at all just ask.”

Romance alive and well in SL - Lacy Muircastle reporting ....

Apart from being incurably curious, I am also an incurable romantic, (we all have our failings don’t we.... Just look at my profile inworld and you will see what I mean.)  So it was with the utmost joy that I attended a marriage renewal service of note on Sunday 24th August.

The beautiful couple that are Blake Hambleton and Shannon Bramlington (Mr and Mrs Hambleton), owners of Sweethearts Jazz and accompanying businesses, have been married for five years and they decided to share their love with those that make their group the most romantic group in SL, their members and friends and reinforce their commitment to one another.

Ms. Sweethearts Pageant- Ccoursey Reporting....

Forty two women in Second Life put their best foot forward to become the next Ms. Sweethearts.  This weekend four out of the five ladies chosen through the public vote all stepped forward to compete in the Ms. Sweethearts Pageant.

Shannon Bramlington the owner and coordinator told me each applicant had to be over thirty days old, unaffiliated with any other club in SL, and a Sweethearts group member. They had to write a small biography to give the public a glimpse of their personality and to learn about them.
