La Gallery, in connection with Soiree Events, proudly presents “ALSO PAINTERS…”- Friday, March 25, from 3:30 – 5:30 PM SLT

Question:  What do Sylvester Stallone, Paul McCartney, Frank Sinatra, and George Bush have in common?

Answer:  In addition to their contributions to their various fields of Acting, Songwriting, Performance Arts, and Politics, they were also painters. For this Grand Opening, La Gallery has assembled some 113 paintings, landscapes, and Self-Portraits from the world’s most prominent celebrities and sports figures.

Not just the opening of La Gallery - a new public art gallery dedicated to all kinds of exhibitions and events: painting, sculpture, photography, design, performances, and soon to become known as the Gallery of Galleries in SecondLife - but also the Grid Premier of “Also Painters…”, the finest and most comprehensive collection of celebrity art to be found anywhere on the Grid

Lalle Vanbeeck and La Gallery have scoured the internet to bring you the collected works of some of your all-time favorite personalities. When why she created La Gallery, Vanbeeck responded:

“I read some time ago an article presenting some celebrities who were also painters. Hence the idea of this exhibition showing the works of these “unknown” painters such as Bob Dylan, David Bowie…and many others”

  • WHO: La Gallery presents “Also Painters”

  • WHAT: SL’s premier collection of paintings done by multi-disciplinary celebrities, in this exclusive exhibit of the collected works of RL celebrity artists

  • WHY:  To inform the public of the multi-dimensional characteristics of some of your favorite stars.

  • WHEN:  Grande Opening Friday, March 25, from 3:30 – 5:30 PM SLT.  The exhibit runs from 25 Mar - 25 May 2022

  • WHERE:  La Gallery, http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Chirico/164/191/2505

Chirico (172,179,2504)

So, take a break from the usual Friday night scene of club-hopping, and come check us out.  See how many of YOUR favorite celebrities were also painters and illustrators.  Come nosh on Brie cheese and crackers, and sip champagne from the open Bar while you peruse the exhibit.  Come alone, or with that special someone at your side.  Come experience this lively evening with music brought to you directly from that prominent DJ, Norma Ricci.  Come see the “artist within” as you view the expressions of art, and angst, from celebrities you have known about for years.  You’ll be talking about this for years to come.

Saints and Sinners Debuts in Second Life

Sexy sculpture by Cloak Fairigfule

Saints and Sinners made its debut last weekend and includes pieces from four talented artists. We speak with Saints and Sinners founder, Vardasilver Spearsong to find out why she started this exhibition and to learn more about the artists involved in the current exhibition.

SLE: What inspired you to get involved in this type of exhibit?
Varda:  Well that is rather funny, I had bought my first ever adult parcel on a sim, and thought this is a lot more freedom of expression here.  Everyone seems to be free thinking, even though sometimes it is not so nice especially with griefers, it is nice to be around other adults.  I had met a very talented artist named FarSoFar who is an amazing artist about a year ago, and I am married to a real life professional photographer who’s works are also being displayed.  I thought this was an opportunity to do something back for the artist who’s work I enjoy so much on an almost daily basis, first it started with my husband requesting I do something, then my friend FarSoFar.  It was then my good friend Cloak Fairigfule, also pointed out since it was an adult sim we could show adult works as well.  Since I had some works that were innocent in nature and some that were more adult in nature, I decided it would be a good mix.  It was my best friend RuaelleLionheart who master minded the decision for the gallery name.  Hopefully soon this gallery will grow and we can move to our own parcel dedicated to this gallery!

Artists featured in current exhibition at Saints and Sinners

SLE: Can you tell our readers about the artists who will be featured in the Saints and Sinners Exhibition?
Varda:  Well I will start with my husband Brian Papke.  He has an idol named Joe McNally, who he LOVES and wants to recreate every single shot he can.  After developing his skills at the New York Institute of photography, he started to take on human subjects.  You know, the graduation picture or engagement picture, but recently began to delve into model photography with a good friend of his named Tim Pruitt.  They had a model show up who wanted to do a lingerie shoot, and then it took off from there.  FarSoFar has been a good friend of mine for a while now.  I always saw his post on Facebook, and admired his work, at first I thought he was posting something from google, you know like a lot of people including me do, until I noticed the consistency in his works.  The two things didn’t click until one day we started talking on Second Life.  It was then I was amazed at his skills and had to see if there was a way to get something going in the way of displaying his works as well.  Every piece is expressive and endearing and that is what I love about his works, it really draws you in.  Cloak Farigoule, is also a great artist as well.  If he is not coding games or scripting on SL , he is making custom mesh avatars and other pieces for various customers.  PakennyUsa Cheing, I could not have gotten this far on the gallery without his help.  His works are all done from his iPhone and when he is not chasing blooms, he is off at college, DJ-ing, working on Minecraft project building servers, and various other online type games.

Lovers and sunset

SLE: What types of fine art can guests expect to see at this event?

Varda: They will see dreamy works that will draw them into a different time and place, photography that is seductive and inspiring as well as fun.  they will see a vision of a church and a woman pleasuring herself under one roof.  That what makes this different, a bit of a different kind of heaven under one roof.

SLE: Will any of the pieces be available for sale?

Varda: All pieces on display are for sale, I make sure the artist gets their money for each piece sold, and donations are appreciated.

FarSoFar in Saints and Sinners

Lanai: Is there anything else you would like to share about Saints and Sinners Art exhbition?

Varda: If anyone would like to have their art works displayed here when this cycle is complete, to contact me and give me a bio and three watermarked examples of their artwork or link to their portfolio.

Saints and Sinners Art Exhbition opened to the public on Saturday September 17th  7PM SLT to 9PM SLT.

Come see this exclusive collection and be prepared to be inspired.

Visions of Hope 2016: silent auction in benefit of Relay For Life of SL

This event opened on Saturday, April 30th with a party led by DJ Cupric Router at 4PM SLT. After the great success of the 2015 edition, with photographs by a number of well-known artists in SL, this year the exhibition organized for the Hope Have Heroes RFL Team brings also some sculptures and gathers the following artists: Bijou, Boudicca Amat, Ciottolina Xue, d-oo-b, Dru G. Eiren-Milneaux, Em Larsson, Hills, Inara Pey, Mareea Farrasco, Nikolai Warden, Proph, Pusher, Randy Firebrand, Ricco Saenz, Tomais Ashdene, Trinity Yazimoto and Ziki Questi.

The silent auction is intended to raise funds for Relay For Life, a global initiative by American Cancer Society aimed at gathering donations to fight against cancer, as well as providing "a chance to celebrate the lives of people who have battled cancer" and "remember loved ones lost", as the ACS webpage says. During the exhibition, the public will be able to acquire photo-based pieces as well as sculptures from some of the most renowned artists in Second Life and, at the same time, contribute with the ACS's programs to improve cancer survival, decrease the incidence of cancer and improve the quality of life for cancer patients and their caretakers. It should be noticed, too, that the actions by ACS are not restricted to the United States: lately, the Society has been contributing with initiatives to fight cancer around the world.

The art exhibition goes from April 30 until May 30. The minimum bid is just L$ 500 and the amounts can be increased by at least L$ 100 each time. At the end of May, we will learn who acquired what.

CROSSED LOOK OVER A BEAUTIFUL GARDEN : OPENING ON SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 21st

On Saturday, February 21st 2015 at noon SLT Moumou’s Square will host a beautiful exhibition showing artworks from Ermandalee and Lo Coeur. Both artists have been asked by Trinity Yazimoto, owner of this beautiful garden, to work on inedit artworks about the place all landscaped by the so talented Trixxie Nitely.

Ermandalee’s works are always an eye catcher. Her choices for angles and colors are always amazing giving often a feeling of reality to her artworks.
Lo Coeur also has her own signature. Her pics looks like water paints. Her romantic style is her signature.

Both artists have their own style and this is what made Trinity choose them for this special request. She wanted the exhibition being an ode to this beautiful garden and to the beauty of Nature in general.

The exhibition will show 2 series of 10 artworks from both artists all over the wonderful garden. It will run from the 21st of February till  March 21st.

The event will start with an opening party on the 21st at noon SLT with the participation of Hippie Bowman as DJ.

So come by, visit the exhibit, have a drink (or two) and enjoy the party. If you can’t be at the opening, you’ll have one whole month to visit this beautiful art show.

(Moumou’s Square is Trinity Yazimoto’s land. It hosts Petit Chat mainstore and underground, Petit Chat Art Gallery, displaying Trinity’s artworks. It’s open to public anytime)
