With his attention to styling, quality of audio, and overall listener experience, Collin works hard to do just that. He is determined to make the most of the opportunities being presented to him on Second Life, hoping to provide every listener with a memorable listening experience.
Collin’s genre includes includes Coldplay, Counting Crows, Eric Clapton, the Avett Brothers, a little bit of country, and alot of classics from the 70’s. Many have commented on his vocal clarity and range, and his set list will attempt to showcase that clarity and range.

GRAND OPENING OF REFLECTIONS OF NATURE PHOTOGRAPHY PRESS RELEASE

GRAND OPENING OF REFLECTIONS OF NATURE PHOTOGRAPHY PRESS RELEASE
MARCH 2ND AT 11AM SLT - LIVE SHOW BY SL SINGER RICARDO AVALIRA

Ricardo Avalira, owner of Clear Creek Nursery, is also a RL Nature Photographer and has just opened his Gallery right next to his nursery. He has been a photographer for over 20 years and has a unique way of capturing images of Nature.

He has brought these amazing images into Second Life to share with everyone. The frames he uses are unlike any other frames in Second Life. When you purchase one of his images and click on the photo, you get a menu whereby you can re-size the frame either smaller or larger. They can be re-sized small enough to fit on your coffee table or large enough to cover your whole wall without losing any clarity of the image. Even though his images are displayed at different sizes, the price for each one is the same.

Life can become so busy that we loose ourselves in the process of living. Ricardo’s vision in providing these images is to allow you to connect with Nature. His hope is that if you would allow the rest of the world to fall away while gazing at the image, this connection will happen.

He also provides a custom service whereby, if you send your favorite image to him, he will insert it in the frame. Since these frames come in different formats, he asks that you allow his discretion in choosing the perfect one for your image.

You can visit his Gallery here - http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Egret%20Key/137/37/22

Spotlight on Petra's Live Music Venue - Pen Dragon reporting

Petra’s Live Music Venue is easily one of the premier spots in Second Life for live artists and performers to play. Set on a beautifully decorated half sim this venue is the brain child, and passion project, of Petra Steele. Petra has a deep love for the performing arts and a desire to enrich the experience of Second Live through her support of the arts.

I recently had the opportunity to sit and talk with Petra about her past and the future of Petra’s. I think you’ll find that she is truly one of the most dedicated, loyal and driven people in Second Life. Her passion, heart and spirit drive the venue she pours her soul into and makes it the extraordinary place that it is today.

SLE: Let’s start with your history as a club owner, tell me more about that Petra
Petra: Well, the first one I ran with someone who had founded it, The SL Playboy Mansion, but my partner and I had a parting of ways acrimoniously and I ended up on my own and grew the club form a quarter parcel to a full sim with 6 entertainment venues. We ran up to 26 live sets a week there. At the top  we had 104 people on the sim for an event I called Midnight Mansion when two DJs would battle until Midnight but it was a monster and I frankly burned out after a few years and closed it due to ill health.I swore I wouldn't open another, until I HAD to again (laughs)

SLE: So, when the music bug bit you again, what was next?
Petra:  I opened Steele Street which was an urban setting with residential areas for rentals,  Steele Hampton and the Estates. We had four  venues there and again booked top talent and ran live sets 5 days a week.  That too became a monster eating up all my time and  became ill again so I shut her down. After recovering, I once again after swearing I'd NEVER open another venue, but I just HAD to and started with a quarter parcel on another sim with two other clubs but moved to this location which is a half sim about 3 months ago and it's been great! I love this little club  we have the best talent in great line ups and we rarely have less than 40 people per set.Open only two days a week but when we are we deliver. We are also going to be producing special events. We’ve already had one featuring Gabriel da Silva on piano,a formal event and wildly well attended

SLE: What is it that drives you to return to the clubs?
Petra: Well, a few things. One I am deathly bored in sl if I"m not working on something and maily something that requires ingenuity and creativity.  If sl is wholly social it just doesn't work for me, I need to work. Secondly having been a performer myself I get on well with those in sl and have formed good relationships with many who have become dear friends. I love coming up with a concept for a sim or a club and running with it. This go round is different however.

SLE:Why?
Petra: It's more laid back. I’m not competing with anyone, just creating an environment I enjoy and low and behold people like it too and so it's a great party. I find the third time   is the charm. I've learned a lot from the other two  most of all what my limits and preferences are, I think I've finally found the right "fit” for me. I have a strong commitment to contributing to the emergent culture of SL by presenting live artists.

SLE: I wasn't aware you were a performer, can you tell me more about that?
Petra: Well, I studied classical ballet from ages 7 to 27, when I stopped dancing.  I danced with the Harkness Ballet in NYC in their Corps de Ballet. At that time I also auditioned for acting jobs and performs in a number of off off Broadway shows as well as appeared in a number of independent short films. I also play the piano, acoustic guitar, electric bass and accordion (laughing) and until I destroyed my voice with coffee and cigarettes I was a pretty good singer (laughs) Now this will sound like much hubris I"m sure...but I think I have been blessed with my gifts as well as support of a wonderful family and have become a formidable individual.

SLE: Is there anything you don't do? That's quite the impressive resume.
Petra: I don't mud wrestle fly a plane or bungee jump to name a few.

SLE: You said earlier that you have strong commitment to contributing to the emergent culture of SL. Why is that?
Petra: Because a rich strong and diverse culture makes us better humans I believe. Culture gives our lives texture and depth and references. Also, I like attention and achieving  things that contribute to the community give me the  kind of attention I want. I don't have to be the star but I love making the cast, so to speak

SLE: Why enrich SL, why not use your talents RL?
Petra: I do. I have been a shrink for almost 30 years as well as a University professor. I have chaired committees to benefit various organizations, I write fiction and songs, and give drop dead dinner parties.(laughs)

SLE: You mentioned planning events for the venue, what other events do you have in mind?
Petra: An all Latin event with dancers from Tropicana and some of our latin artists like Erik Kottzen, and Gabriel da Silva, Ceci Dover, Agatha. A Remembering Playboy event, with a contest for best Bunny and best Hef. And Arabian Nights event which will be held in a glorious Arabian skybox with minarets and mosaics and belly dancers which is also a role play event where people coming in click on a role giver board and are assigned a character to play.

SLE: Is there anything you'd like our readers to know about you or the venue?
Petra: I would be remiss if I didn't mention my GM RJ Dragon who has been with me since Playboy and GM at all three venues. RJ is my Rock.

Petra Steele, the driving force behind Petra’s live music venue, clearly brings a depth to the SL live music scene that few are capable of achieving. Her experience, knowledge and love for music are what makes her club one of the absolute best on the grid and well worth taking the time to visit and catch a show.

Maximillion Kleen LIVE

Streaming from Niagara Falls, Maximillion Kleene brings a vast repertoire of popular music to Second Life.

His dynamic musical range and smooth groove has earned Max 11 Avi-Choice Awards over the last 4 years (2012-2016) in multiple categories including Favorite Male Performer.

Max started his music career with formal study of piano at the Royal Conservatory but quickly realized that it was the guitar guys who got the chicks. By 19, he was seriously immersed to the very center of his musical soul in AC/DC and from there branched out to experiment with sounds that range from Pearl Jam to Foo Fighters, The Beatles to Jason Mraz.

Max brings high energy and a vast repertoire of quirky, classic, and current covers to Second Life. Oozing charisma and charm, he provides his fans with an hour of musical magic.

Jadey's Center Stage Reflections: Music Critic - Jadey Dragon reporting

Greetings from the great state of Florida! Allow me to introduce myself, I’m Jadey Dragon. The newest music/live singer critic for SLE. I use the word “critic” as opposed to reporter, because I want to be sure to clarify that within my reports you will get an honest opinion. That isn’t to say other reporters don’t give theirs, but let’s call a spade a spade, most reporters of live music, be it DJ or live singer, write fluff pieces. Using nothing more than excessive adjectives to cover up the bad experience they received. That won’t happen here folks. The report will be raw, descriptive, and hopefully encourage you to take the dive, and experience it all for yourself, if for no other reason than to prove me wrong. I triple dog dare you! Having said all that, let’s get to our first review.

C C  (Camme Carver)- Live, Acoustic guitar playing, singer.

I feel the need to immediately point out that this wasn’t a woman with a backtrack drowning out the sound of her own voice. Although she was rather low in volume, make no mistake she was playing her guitar live! She’d occasionally tune her guitar as she spoke to the crowd which of course is a dead give away. She was personable, and quick to thank her supporters every chance she got.  But those are minor details. I started my review by reaching out to her manager ‘Bad” and asking for a bio. Let’s be real, it was thrown together and offered very little insight into what I was about to experience. I tossed the notecard and the conversation aside and sat back to experience it all as nothing more than a concert-goer.
The first note arrived with force, and I was immediately reminded of the Great, legendary, Linda Perry from 4 non-blondes. So I was pleasantly surprised to find “What’s going on” in her song list and wasted no time requesting it. Yep, CC nailed it, despite the rumbles in the crowd of having a cold, she delivered the song beautifully. As she did with most of the songs she tackled.
There were a few songs that didn’t arrive to the same level as the first, but I think that might have been more an equipment issue, than a performance issue. You be the judge.
I would personally categorize her music as indie rock, but that’s more based on her voice than her song list. She claims to be able to reach the soulful depths of music like Fleetwood mac, to  Nelly Furtado, which is quite confusing when you’re attempting to put her in some type of genre. However, I think that’s part of her charm.
“CC is one of the most beautiful caring women I know in SL. He voice stands out to me because she is so down to earth, always has a smile and is genuine” Stated Anastasia Yanwu, a self proclaimed fan, and friend.
In fact, every single person I spoke with in the crowd was quick to tell me that not only is CC a great singer, but she is kind, humble, and down to earth. So the occasional notes she missed, and yes there were a few, made no difference to them, or me for that matter. You wanted to see her succeed as her personality erupted with every note, good or bad.
Stoney Nider, another fan and friend said to me “she has soul and emotion in her songs” and I couldn’t agree with him more. CC wasn’t just standing there collecting coin going from cover to cover without emotion, she made you feel every word. Her delivery felt personal, and story-telling rather than karaoke, which alone makes her stand out in SL.
So I conclude giving Camme Carver a strong 8 out of 10, losing points for volume and clarity of her equipment but gaining points on her performance and emotional connection with the crowd.
Rock on my sista, Rock on!!

Georgia Classic Rock Cafe Where we play the best in classic rock and so much more...and now in a new location!

You will find much more than just a venue here,  there is the actual club, and keep in mind I am from Georgia which will explain so much about the venue.  There is an open deck to dance or sit right where you land, so if you are lagging you can just settle there and still see the singers and while you listen to the music, a view of water and the beautiful sunset makes you feel like the world has slipped away and you can relax, and focus on making new friends or being with the one you love.

It started as a dream. I wanted a club; something I couldn't have in real life. Just a place where I could play my music. Being born and raised in Georgia...surely SL would bask in my Southern Rock, and if it didn't...just keep it classic...what other kind of music is there.

It started out in a very small building, with a different name. It was actually a coffee shop on the first floor and a dance area on the second. Turn on the radio....Rock FM. Now it is  a much bigger venue on a much bigger parcel of land with a much bigger variety of music. But before and after shows...it's still Rock FM. You can't teach this old dogs new tricks....lol.  However Amber brings in many singers from different genres,  so if you are in the mood for some country,  mellow sweet tones  or just a nice mix of music,  keep an eye out for who is singing and come enjoy yourself.

Georgia Classic Rock Cafe is now located on Main Street...the sim is owned and operated by Ohana Land Estates and we are so excited to have recently moved there. The venue was actually custom made by Kathleen and Coco Spitfire who are members of the Paul Nowles Band.

Now let me introduce myself. My name is Rick Scott (rickscott1955), and along with my wife Amber Scott (amber.lefavre). We are the owners of Georgia Classic Rock Cafe. I am the Georgia part of this rocking duo....born and raised there..and I guess I'm also the Classic Rock part. So what does that make my lovely wife Amber. That's easy...she's the boss and a Florida girl. Amber does all the booking for the club. Without her it would just be me and not a multitude of live singers (we book 30 to 50 acts a month) and I DJ at the club on occasion and I will give you the best in classic rock and so much more.

Since our opening in the Fall of 2016, Amber has booked some of the best talent on sl....some of our regulars include Gabriel da Silva, Rayna Gorham, Erik Kottzen, Savannah Rain, NeoMaximus Brandenburg, Toxic Darkmatter, Paul Nowles, Jack Slade, DirtyDee Sweetwater, David Hauptman and  Rocker....with so many others like Max Kleene and Quartz and many more to come. We are constantly looking to bring you the best talent that we can find. We have a working relationship with Whispering Sands Live Promotions, The Keys Management Group, Vargas and Associates and many that just represent themselves.  If your looking for a club,  this is the place to listen to some great music and make some awesome friends.

You can join the Georgia Classic Rock Cafe group,  or if you do not have space to join,  visit the club and hit the subscriber so you will get a notice of who is playing and when ,  You do not want to miss these amazing performers.

Dress is what you want it to be, in the South we call that casual. We hope you will come by and bring your friends, become part of our Georgia CRC family. We want this to be a place where you were entertained, but more important, we want you to just have fun.  So come enjoy our southern hospitality, and if that's not enough, how about the best in classic rock.... and so much more.
