The race is in full swing!  The LOOK of the YEAR Jury has chosen a third group of semi-finalists. EleanorJean, Gabriela Seubert, Hyaecinte, JuneMagic3, Noelia Ashland and Teabug are now eligible for the prestigious LOOK of the YEAR title and the huge prize pool of L$50,000 that comes with it.

And the adventure offers much more! The LUXE Paris style contest LOOK of the YEAR is one of the most generous in Second Life. Candidates, finalists... there are gifts for everyone!

Plus, an amazing team of mentors is there to help professional models stand out and introduce newcomers to the catwalk. Nope! You dont need to be a professional to participate! This contest is open to ALL stylish women!

HURRY UP! SEND YOUR PHOTO!

So if you are a woman of style and believe you have what it takes to represent a major fashion brand, wait no longer! Grab your camera and snap your best LUXE Paris look! But hurry up because the jury will select the last two groups of 6 semi-finalists this week and next.

Remember: LUXE Paris is looking for an ambassador, a stylish and elegant woman who will represent the brand with grace and charisma.

30 semi-finalists will be chosen before the jury selects the twelve grand finalists who will participate in the inworld events.

THREE EVENTS INWORLD
WILL DETERMINE THE WINNER

Three stages will make up the final. First, there will be the Judges' Brunch where each of the finalists will have to make a short speech (written) explaining why they would be a good ambassador for LUXE Paris.

Two challenge shows will then allow the jury to assess the quality of the style and the stage presence of the finalists. For the first challenge, the finalists will have to illustrate one of the decades of fashion, from 1950 to the present day. The second challenge will focus on the Twelve Major Fashion Capitals of the planet.

It is the cumulative scores awarded by the judges during these two challenges that will determine the winner and her runners-up.

Opium Evolution: A Fashion Show Well Done- Mikile Vinciolo Reporting...

It was Saturday morning March 22, 2014 as I pulled up a seat at a bistro-style table, awaiting for a fashion show themed for the Great Gatsby.

I was able to get a seek peek of the models behind the scenes. I examine the gowns, suits, and dresses that were on the mark with the era and the costumes of the movie released in 2013. The runway room was dark with white accents brimming the edges. It was very film noir.

Meet Ava Jhamin- Taking Charge of a Censored Fashion Industry- Mikile Vinciolo Reporting…

Second Life’s fashion industry is one of the biggest on-grid industries, following suit of the Real-World fashion industry. The industry has developed into a mass market, generating buzz offline in glitterati circles brimmed with big Real-World fashion names. Within this ever-growing mega industry, few individuals that sashays to the forefront of the fashion industry, takes off with it.

Second life fashion industry has catapulted the careers of designers, fashion bloggers, and most importantly, its models. One name in particular that takes the cake for me is the fabulous and humble Ava Jhamin. Miss Ava has graced over 200 fashion show runways within the Second Life platform. She started her career as most SL models tend to-fashion and model-specific academic training; as second life is filled with a cornucopia of fashion-specific academies to accommodate the further blossoming of the Second Life fashion industry. She attended a number of schools to hone her craft, but as she paints her past with the number of academies she attended she only found one in the lot that was satisfactory, after having spent 60,000L as part of her adventure to find an academy with a substantial curriculum. As I expressed my complete shock and disgust, she soothes my pain with the mention of her own venture with fashion academia-L’amour brand.

An Open Casting Call For Mesh-Prim Fusion- Silky Soulstar Reporting…

A girlfriend of mine once proclaimed, "I have seen the future and it is mesh!"  We all upgraded our viewers and raced to acquire as many alphas as we could.

Some of us … <shudder> … went so far as to trash all of our prims as fast as a Torley Linden tutorial.  But now we know, the future of SL Fashion is instead an eclectic mix of flexi, mesh AND prims.
