Encounter with the Boogieman- The SL Enquirer Reporting…

Halloween is approaching, which means all the freaks come out. Not just at night either. Aside from Griefers and Drama Queens that haunt the grid, so does the energy sucking Boogieman. We have all encountered this entity at one point or another. It can only be described as a black cloud that hovers over those who are at their most vulnerable. It preys on those who are sensitive and doesn’t stop until they break you down and leave you feeling hopeless.

Well, Mack, from the SL Enquirer, came to the rescue to slay this miserable beast.

Mack: Well, well, well, look who it is snooping around the SL Enquirer, if it isn’t the Boogieman!

Boogieman: Oh, FFS! You scared the bejesus out of me. You shouldn’t be walking up on somebody like that! I was looking for Ms. Jarrico. Have you seen her? I heard she needed me.

Mack: I know exactly what you need her for, and she’s somewhere you’ll never find her!

Boogieman: What’s that supposed to mean! She offered me a job, and I was simply here for an interview.

Mack: Yeah, your arse in the moonlight you are, you’re here to make her rain on her parade.  She doesn’t need your grief at the moment, or ever.

Boogieman: Well damn, tell me how you REALLY feel. Ya know… I see a lot of you jolly types around the grid, and it irks me. What the heck are you always so happy about? It’s not like SL is handing out free pies.

Mack: No but if it was you’d be shoving them in peoples faces, i know your type!  Happiness is a state of mind whereas you’re just a state. Like Idaho without the potatoes.

Boogieman: Well, that statement is just as cheesy as Wisconsin. Why are you even here? At least I have a purpose.

Mack: I’m kinda second in command here so watch it buddy or you’ll be off of this sim quicker than you can say Johnny Carson.

Lanai: What did I just walk in on, and why are you all using Johnny Carson’s name in vain?

Boogieman: Ms. Jarrico, just the one I was looking for. Thank you for inviting me for an interview. This… *looks Mack up and down* … clown over here is harassing me.

Mack: That’s Mr Clown to you *blasts him with an air horn*.. Misery loves company but they haven’t met you yet.  You’re as welcome as a fart in a spacesuit.  Lanai, you invited this over for an interview?

Lanai: *laughs* You told Mack you were here for an interview?  Why on Linden’s pixel creation would I want the Boogieman, the spouse of Debbie Downer, to be a part of The SL Enquirer? We produce entertaining news here. So why are you really here?

Boogieman: * Grills Mack* I thought you all were an equal opportunity employer. Wait til I tell everyone that you discriminate against evil spirits.

Mack: Why would we want evil spirits here? We’re not Fox News.

Boogieman: Mack. you are very irritating, like a Karen in Walmart. Why don’t you just scram? I’m not here for you. I’m here for Ms. Jarrico.

Lanai: Hey now. Don’t you come around here talking to people that way. Maybe what you need to do is look at yourself in the mirror and re-evaluate your existence and outlook on life. Every day shouldn’t be a pity party.

Mack: Well said, I'll get the mirror.

Boogieman: Nooooo! I don’t want to go back in there! Pleeease!!

Mack: Smile! You’re on Candid Camera! *Holds up mirror and says his name three times*

Lanai: BYE FELICIA!  Mack isn’t it tiring dealing with these types of things? Sometimes we encounter negative energy, it’s how we deal with them that counts and most importantly, those who stand by our side and protect us from these types of monsters.  So thank you, Mack.

Readers, The next time you are feeling like you are being followed by a dark cloud that wants nothing more than to bring you down, remember to use your energy to propel yourself into becoming the best version of yourself. Don’t get trapped in the pursuit of hopelessness, self-doubt or destructive behavior. Look in the mirror and value what you see. Value your friends, play some SL, or find something to do that brings you joy.

Mack:  Thank you Dr Phil, I’ll remember that.

From Music to Movies: Roulette Brown Lands Lead Role In Upcoming Film

The grid’s most heavenly voice is stepping into the spotlight in an entirely new way. Acclaimed singer, songwriter, rapper and poet Roulette Brown is proud to announce her newest artistic endeavor: voice acting. In a major leap forward, Roulette has been cast in two leading roles in upcoming Second Life Video Creator's Group (SLVCG) films, marking her official debut as a voice-over actress.

Widely beloved across Second Life for her deeply emotive live performances, Roulette has long captivated audiences with her soulful sound and magnetic stage presence. Now, she’s lending that same unmistakable voice to two powerful new characters in SLVCG's highly anticipated productions.

Roulette’s first confirmed project is the highly anticipated film "Whispers in the Hollow", a deeply moving romantic drama produced by the acclaimed filmmaker NOVA. In the film, Roulette stars as Talia, a quiet yet powerful character navigating the lingering echoes of love. Stirring exploration of connection, healing, and the spaces in between what is said and what is felt.

“This is more than just a new role; it’s a new rhythm, a new melody in my creative journey,” Roulette shares. “Voice acting allows me to channel emotion in a whole new way. I’m honored and excited to bring these characters to life for the SL community.”

While details about the films remain under wraps, SLVCG insiders hint that both productions are "emotionally charged, character-driven dramas that will showcase Roulette’s vocal depth and storytelling range."

Roulette’s transition into acting feels like a natural evolution for the multi-talented artist, whose performances already blur the lines between music and raw, poetic expression. Fans can expect the same soulful energy that made her a household name on the grid, now channeled into compelling cinematic performances.

With two leading roles already in production, this is only the beginning of Roulette Brown’s new chapter in Second Life's creative landscape. She continues to expand her creative footprint, bringing authentic artistry to every platform she touches.

LUXE Paris Haute Halloween Glamour with a Dark Edge- A report by Aria Absinthe LUXE Paris Ambassador

Halloween in Second Life is no longer just costumes and candy, it has evolved into a stage where glamour meets imagination. For those who crave sophistication with a hint of drama, LUXE Paris delivers Haute Halloween: fashionable disguises that blend mystery, elegance, and a touch of the macabre.

Think velvet gowns in midnight black, satin dresses that shimmer like moonlight, and lace details that suggest both enchantment and intrigue.

The LUXE Paris woman does not wear a “costume”, she embodies a character. Whether it’s a Demoness draped in hellish flames or Mistress of Versailles with a short layered lace skirt, every design whispers elegance first, fantasy second.

THE FINISHING SPELL

Accessories become the finishing spell.

A jeweled mask hiding just enough mystery, heels sharp as daggers, and jewelry that glitters like fallen stars... Together, they create a look that is equal parts runway and masquerade, turning a night of fright into a night of unforgettable allure.

This is Halloween elevated. With LUXE Paris, you don’t simply attend the party,  you command the room, exuding glamour with a dark edge.

Night Starz Ranch: Where All Your Nightmares Come True – Josh (Thomas1 Bellic) Reporting

Its that time of year again, when Ghouls and Goblins will roam the streets, Witches will ride Broomsticks, Zombies will search for brains to eat, and Home Depot will have a sale on Chainsaws.  It’s Halloween, the unofficial holiday where all manner of bloodthirsty imaginings will take form.  And this year there is no better place to get an early look at such things than Night Starz Ranch.  The brainchild of Katie and Trin Night, I had the frightening opportunity to see their amazing build.  Open a little over a week, already over 500 visitors have made the pilgrimage to this Sim of Horrors.  I caught up with The Nights while I was wandering the trails and pathways of their creation, and they graciously agreed to chat with me about this homage to Halloween.  But don’t take my word for it.  Read the interview below, and then go check it out for yourself.

Josh (Thomas1 Bellic) (JB):     What an amazing build.  I spent an hour there the other night and I STILL and didn’t see everything.  Just how big is Night Stars Ranch anyway?

Trin Night (trinittynight) (TN):     Yes, it is a lot to see. It's a full sim, with one main trail till you get near the end then it breaks off into 4 different trails.  But there are side areas to see, like The Burning Church, and the Circus. Just walk around and enjoy yourself. If you get lost, find a Police Officer or when we find you, we will just add you to the build.

Katie Night (katiestarz) (KN):     Wow.  There are LOTS of fun things to see.  This Halloween build is a full sim, so be sure to check out all the different paths. Just follow the arrows.

JB:     Lots of work is evident here.  Did you guys do this all on your own, or did you have help?

TN:     Yes, we did all the work ourselves, and with the help of ღℓiℓ Star Pøøтεя ღ (star.schoonhoven) putting out stuff to use. And our Sponsor: Giano Properties / www.Giano Properties.com.  That has helped us a LOT. We really do appreciate their support.

KN:     Yes.  we did the builds. My lil God daughter ღℓiℓ Star Pøøтεя ღ (star.schoonhoven)  helped some with the individual scenes by putting things out for us to use because she loves Halloween too.

JB:     This must have taken months and months to design, purchase the components, and put the thing together so that it flows seamlessly.  How long have you been working on this?

TN:     I have been putting things together for a year now. After our last Halloween Party, I began buying things and getting Ideas in my head, and then I built it and put it together. I have been “Halloween Crazy” all year. I don’t think that will EVER stop. lol.

KN:     We both LOVE Halloween so we’ve been buying things for years, and we just put all of our stuff out together and worked on it that way.

JB:     I saw signs for a big event on October 30th.  What can you tell us about that?

TN:     Yes! We are having a Halloween Party. This will be our second year doing one of these. Our first party was a BIG hit with our friends and family. So, I had to do it even BIGGER this year. This year we will have DJ Jake and Host Katie at the Star Castle for a 2- hour set. We’d like for anyone to come and come in costume and have fun.

KN:     I am SO excited for our BIG event on the 30th! DJ Jake will be spinning the tunes for our Halloween party, while I get to do one of my favorite things in SL….Host Parties!

JB:     So, tell me, are you two big fans of the horror movie genre, because it is certainly evident in your work? Were there any movie-inspired builds in particular?

KN:     Trin does love horror movies.   I have never seen one myself.  Lol.  But he did an amazing job on the builds.  I am more into cutesy Halloween stuff.  Lol.  So you’ll see my contributions at the end of the trail.

TN:     Yes I'm a big Horror fan!   Katie, not so much lol. I love horror movies and yes, there are some movies that have inspired me and I have put into my builds.  Movies like Halloween, Friday the 13th, IT (Penny Wise), Scream, Zombie movies, Silent Hill, and many, many more.

JB:     What a fun place! How did you decide to do such an extensive build that will be used just for the Halloween Season?

TN:     Yes, it is a fun place and I hope that everyone comes and enjoys it like I do. And it is funny, but last year everyone loved our Halloween party so I told everyone that I would make it bigger and better so that’s what I did for THIS year. I hope to keep this going every year from now on. I have started making an Asylum Ride that may be done before Halloween is over. If not, it will be in Next Year’s Build for sure.

KN:     Last year we did a much smaller build for our family and friends to enjoy.  We thought this year we would go bigger and see how it goes.  It has gone much better than I ever expected.

JB:     Near the end of the journey is an expansive castle with a BIG dance floor. Just how many dancers can you hold up there before you reach a Fire Code Violation?

TN:     I hope the Zombies get the Fire Marshal before he can get to the castle. But we can handle 100 on the dance pads, and we will also have an INTAN for couples and singles. The sim can only hold 100 Max, but I sure do wish it could hold more.  lol.

KN:     Well, we have a 100-dance pad system and will have an INTAN as well, so, hopefully, we will be good with no fire code violations lol.  Besides.  I imagine the Fire marshals will be kept busy with the fires they encounter on their way up to the castle and won’t even bother us up there.

JB:     I see you have an orphanage.  I am not certain, but it may need a bit of work if you want to keep your certification with the National Orphanage Association. What was the inspiration for that?

TN:     Yes, our orphanage is a little rundown. It ran out of money and souls. Now it is a place of the past and the ghosts of little children roam the grounds and they do their schoolwork sitting at the desks, never to rest again. I watch a lot of ghost shows on TV and I’ve seen the Ghost Hunters at the orphanage and they are scary!  So, I wanted to build one also.  I think it came out pretty good if I do say so myself.

KN:     WOW.  It had so many creepy dolls & stuff , it was scary being built but Trin did a great job with it.

JB:     I understand you may be putting together an event to be held prior to the Oct 30 Bash.  Can you tell us about that?

TN:     We’re trying to plan a Masquerade Party.  We’re still working on that, but we are hoping to have it worked out soon, so there will be more information available on that later. We will post it on our Facebook Page.

JB:     Do you have any Social Media Sites connected to your build or Groups?

TN:     Yes.  Check us out:

·         Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/NightStarzRanchEvents/

·         SURL: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Enchanted%20Dust/228/246/22

There you can see all the events we do, and it's not just for Halloween. We do lots of other parties and events throughout the year as well.

KN:     We also have personal FLICKR and PRIMFEED pages as well

JB:     Is there anything else you would like to share with our SL Enquirer readers

TN:     I'd like to thank everyone who has helped. And to all the Visitors that have come so far, and to the Visitors yet to come. We here at Night Starz Ranch would like to say Thank You for coming and for your support. We hope you have the best Halloween season and have fun and be safe.

KN:     Please come by and take photos and enjoy the sim with us.  We also have a game room up on top of the castle - just follow the stairs up to it...and enjoy your time here at Night Starz Ranch Horror Nights.

So, there you have it folks. Straight from the specter’s…uhh...I mean…straight from the creator's mouths.  So, head on over to Night Starz Ranch Horror Nights.  You’ll be glad you did.  And when you do, tell ‘em Josh sent ya.  You’ll be glad ya did.

Be there!  ALOHA!

Amelia's Coastal Treasures: SL's Largest Coastal-Themed Store: Josh (Thomas1 Bellic) Reporting

Amelia's Coastal Treasures: SL's Largest Coastal-Themed Store: Josh (Thomas1 Bellic) Reporting

I had just come into possession of new digs, and I set about the daunting task of furnishing the place.  I wanted a place that was functional, yet contemporary looking.  A place where I could comfortably reside, without breaking the bank to do so.  It was during this search that I stumbled, quite literally, on Amelia’s Coastal Treasures.  As one of the newest furnishings stores sporting a Coastal theme,  I happened upon Amelia, the owner, and asked if she might take a few moments out of her busy schedule and answer a few questions for the benefit of our SL Enquirer readers, and she graciously consented to do so.

Josh (Thomas1 Bellic) (JB):     So tell me Amelia.  Can you share a little about your SL experience and your initial involvement here in the Virtual World?

Amelia Corryong (AC):     I started out like many, just exploring and finding out what all SL had to offer. Learning how to walk straight, transform my orange avatar into something halfway appealing, all the things. *Laughs* I had several relationships, friendships and of course went through the various trends such as Bloodlines, dancing, club ownership, MC life-then found out I had a talent as a DJ. I got my start at Turbo DJ (The Rock) and from there went to various clubs including Wet Willies, Ohana, Big Daddy's, to name a few. I very much enjoyed DJing and although I DJed for a few smaller clubs under this avatar, I did most of my DJing through another avatar named Shannon Celestalis. I met someone in world and it evolved into real life and not only had I found my Prince Charming, but my Prince Charming's castle was 10 or 11 blocks from the beach-so two life-long dreams came together for me at once. I met my now RL husband and lived my dream of being literally a few blocks from the ocean and surrounded by all the things I love with the man I love. We knocked around on SL for a while longer, but at some point, thereafter both of us were in a place where we did not desire to be in SL. We both took fairly long hiatuses from SL and it was only when I got a little bored and wanted an outlet to create that I returned.

JB:     So then, do you still DJ from time to time?

AC:     Sadly, no. The only left-over from any of that is my radio station, Iron Horse Radio, which is a rock and metal themed station.  I started that up whilst living in Florida. We streamed to many clubs and MC properties during that time. Once I came back regularly, I dusted off my SAM and restarted the station, although at this point it mainly just plays on my sim. Shameless plug- you can listen at

http://gostream.store:8774 .

JB:     That seems like quite a direction change. How did you make the jump from DJing to creating?

AC:     Initially, my interest when I returned to SL was in photography. Once I got into the photography a little deeper, I wanted to add effects to my photos and that led to my learning Photoshop. Learning PS in turn, led to the starting point of designing and creating and bringing me to where I am now.

JB:     So, what was the thought process behind creating your store, Amelia's Coastal Treasures?

AC:     My opinion has been that most successful money-making ventures have a niche so to speak.  The business needs to offer something that sets them apart or has enough mass appeal that if there are several of you doing it, you can still have some interest and success from other residents. I thought about it and it seemed to me like most SL residents were of the same mind as me with regard to their living preferences. It seemed to me that most wanted a beach- themed property or at the very least, a water-front property of some sort. My idea was to cater to that. It was, after all, what I loved and I figured there were plenty of others who had to feel the same. During the time I really started concentrating on the store, my husband accepted a job in another (not a coastal) state, which took us away from the beach living that I so loved, so not only was I designing and creating these things for hobby purposes, but also for therapy, so to speak.

JB:     In your opinion, what sets you apart from other stores that offer tropical or beach-themed items?

AC:     To use your words, the fact that they offer tropical or beach themed items sets me apart from many of them. I think the sheer size of my store, variety of items and immense array of items offered is what I feel sets me apart. I have knowledge of some Tropical - themed stores in world and think they are great! I have shopped at many of them, will continue to do so and admire their work and their creativity. That being said, most of the ones I was and am familiar with, did not offer the scope or size of what I wanted to. I offer everything from coastal front door mats to coastal tp holders. Every single item such as components of living room furniture, bedroom furniture, kitchen items, etc. all have a coastal or nautical theme or color palette. At my store you can furnish and decorate literally every room in your home, top to bottom, in one shopping experience. Inside and out.

JB:     Is your focus on decor and the above mentioned items, or do you also offer coastal themed homes and skyboxes?

AC:     Of course I had to venture into home building! I have many coastal homes for sale and although I am planning on creating some in the future, currently I do not have any skybox homes.

JB:     What is the one thing you would like people to know about you and your store?

AC:     If I had to pick one thing, I would have to say that I would like them to know that I do this because of the sheer joy it brings me. While it has become more profitable in the past few years for me, the impetus for me doing what I do has nothing to do with trying to make money and everything to do with loving the creating and designing side of what I am doing. Every time a customer messages me to tell me how much they love my store I take such pride and joy in hearing it. I am honored and so appreciative that people love what I do and as long as I continue to find pleasure in creating, there will continue to be an Amelia's Coastal Treasures.

JB:     Where can people find your store on SL Marketplace and in-world?

AC:     Sadly, probably less than five percent of my content is on my MP right now. It is something I have not kept up with and now it has snowballed to the point where it is absolutely overwhelming to think about trying to get it all uploaded to MP. It is my intention however, at some point when I can find more time, to do just that. The best option is to visit the in-world store which is located at

http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Fernandina%20Beach/120/255/22 .

If you are just looking at MP, you are missing the bulk of what the store offers.

JB:     Thanks so much for sharing your experience and taking the time to talk with me about the store. Best of luck to you in this new adventure.

AC:     Thank you as well for the opportunity and thank you to SL Enquirer as well.

So there you have it, Folks.  For those of you who are in the market for some of the newest home furnishings anywhere, whether you want a full room of furniture, or accent pieces to dress up what you already have, you are sure to find something to your liking at Amelia’s Coastal Treasures.  I wish to express a special Thanks also to Annalise Dawn, who aided in the completion of this article.  So, hop on by.  And when you do, tell ‘em Josh sent you. You’ll be glad you did.

Be there!  Aloha!

JB
