[Second Life, September 2025] — The 8th Annual Out Shop Cancer event is set to kick off October 1–31, 2025, bringing together the Second Life® community in support of the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer campaign. Shoppers and hunters alike will have the chance to explore main store and Marketplace exclusives, as well as take part in a grid-wide hunt. Shopping HUDs will be available starting October 1 at the Out Shop Cancer office, making it easy for everyone to get involved.

Beginning October 15 through October 31, Out Shop Cancer expands with Out Shop Cancer: Goth Darn-it! Let’s Find a Cure! — a special themed event featuring one-stop shopping, live entertainment, raffles, an Art Walk, and a dazzling closing Gala. Visitors can also participate in decorating contests (pumpkin or float), with entry kits available now at the Out Shop Cancer office. To promote health awareness, workshops will be hosted on how to perform breast self-exams and, for men, how to check for testicular cancer.

For Immediate Release: 2023 Out Shop Cancer The 6th annual Out Shop Cancer event supporting Making Strides and the American Cancer Society is almost here. Out Shop Cancer is a main store and marketplace shopping event and a signature Strides Campaign in Second Life in support of the American Cancer Society’s breast cancer programs and research. The 2023 Out Shop Cancer event includes main store and marketplace shopping, a grid-wide hunt, an Out Shop Cancer Pop-up Market, and a special Gala event. Along with the many shopping opportunities, there will be several special raffles during the month, including raffles for eBody Reborn bodies, Belleza bodies, LeLutka heads, skin packs and much more. In addition to the shopping, hunt and raffles, there will be an art walk and photo contest this year. The Easthaven Art Walk will also run Oct. 1 through Oct. 31 and feature the creative work of artists and photographers, with proceeds benefiting Strides. A photo contest with the theme, "Season of Hope" will be held at Easthaven and open to everyone to join in the fun! The 4th annual Out Shop Cancer event is now open with more than 70 participating stores both in-world and on Marketplace featuring items for men, women, children, animesh Zooby babies, plus home and garden, DFS items and more. New for this year there is a grid-wide hunt along with all of the shopping opportunities. Speaking with Savannah Annamemnon, event co-lead, “Yes, we are very excited about adding the hunt feature to the event. There are so many wonderful things designers have donated, it is definitely time to shop ’til you drop for a great cause.” Additionally, there will be special raffles throughout the month. LumiPro has donated two complete systems to be raffled. The first raffle runs October 1 – 15 and tickets can be purchased at the Out Shop Cancer office. While there you can also pick up the Shopping Directory notecard to plan your shopping excursion. Aside from in-world shopping, shoppers can visit the Second Life Marketplace and use the keywords “Out Shop Cancer” or “Making Strides” to find items on sale with proceeds going to the American Cancer Society. An American Cancer Society in SL Strides Campaign Fundraising Event

It is time to grab your L$ and start shopping for a cause! The 3rd annual Out Shop Cancer event returns to Second Life featuring more merchants and more ways for residents to support Making Strides and the American Cancer Society.

Since 2018, Out Shop Cancer has been a grid-wide shopping event that brought residents to participating merchant stores. Merchants designate specific items that will be sold as a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society’s breast cancer programs and services. Each year has seen an increase in the number of merchants and designers joining the fight against breast cancer.

Continuing for the 2020 season is Out Shop Cancer: Marketplace. This allows designers without in-world locations to take part as well!

And brand new for this year we have partnered with the Heathens Court Event, which includes more than 20 additional shopping opportunities to support Making Strides all in one location.
But there’s still more! Also for the 2020 Out Shop Cancer event we have the Wythburn Art Walk with over 20 participating artists, hosted by Sethos Wythburn of Wythburn Fine Furniture. Residents are invited to stroll or ride the paths from the village that lead up to the Raven Craig Art Center. The path is lined with art for sale.

Additionally, there have been special items donated to be raffled during the month. These include two Mega Shopping Spree Raffles each valued over L$15,000, a girl animesh baby and a boy animesh baby from Suki Baby, a custom 1968 Nova from Taz’s Customs, a 2019 Demon SRT from Bad Bunny’s Customs and more.
