MONIQUE’S TRENDS ALERT : WICKED, UNUSUAL AND CHIC TRENDS OF AUTUMN 2025 TO HIT SECONDLIFE - Monique Chapeau Reporting...

Ah yes, Autumn. The season of transition; crispy leaves beneath your feet, warm drinks and pumpkins everywhere. Here are the most wicked, unusual and chic trends of Second Life in the fall of 2025.

THE POPULAR GIRL’S STRECHY GUM:

September is the beginning of classes (at least in the West). This means new sneakers out of the box, notebooks that have never been written in and fresh pressed clothing for your first day of class. That first week of classes in September bled into November and that presents us with the lasting trend of what I call “The Popular Girl’s Stretchy Gum”.

The Stretchy Gum is created by the store Mud and is formally part of the Gatcha collection called: “The School Whore Gum”

The gum comes in 3 flavors: #3 Berry, #4 Grape and #5 Mint. The animation makes your finger look like it is twirling the gum, a fun way to make your avatar have a more carefree and rebellious youthful attitude. The Mud store actually paired the gum with outfits that match the “Popular Girl in Highschool” archetype, which fits perfectly with the gum as an accessory to the main character vibe!

I have been seeing this cute stretchy gum all over Second Life and Mint is my favorite flavor! CHIC READING GLASSES:

In the fashion world the chic-eccentric academic look has been huge in 2025.

The fashion house Miu Miu, a label synonymous with what I can only describe as the “chic mad scientist” aesthetic has, over the past three years, perfected a distinctive balance between intellect and irreverence. The brand has presented preppy staples through bold-colored polos,

layered shorts atop thick-waisted boxer briefs, and timeless classics like sleek dress shoes, sharply tailored pencil skirts, and most notably oblong and rectangular shaped reading glasses.

The “chic-mad scientist look” overall has made its way to Secondlife and specifically the chic rectangular or oblong frames have been spotted everywhere. The pair of glasses that stood out to me particularly was "CIUCIU" Office Frames by the Store CUPID. The glasses have been often spotted in-world, they bring an effortless chic to any outfit and blend seamlessly with nearly every aesthetic.

TROLL MONSTER OF THE YEAR: THE LABUBU !!!

From Chic to unusual, we now step in the pop culture craze of the Labubu.

The first time I truly noticed the rise of the Labubu, I was wandering through department stores, and a fashionable girl had one clipped to her high-end handbag. Soon after, I started spotting them everywhere: kids at the park had them dangling from their backpacks, guys had them clipped to the loopholes of their jeans, and my YouTube feed began filling with Labubu collection videos. Labubu was like a drug, and the only way to get your fix was to order the next rare Labubu and add it to your collection. The Labubu was the next Stanley Cup!

Let me explain the Stanley Cup…

In 2023, a girl’s car burst into flames. After the fire was put out, her entire car interior was damaged and littered in ash, but remarkably still intact was the Stanley Cup. When the girl pried it from the melted cupholder, shockingly, there was still ice preserved in the cup. The video went viral with over 1 million views, and overnight, the Stanley Cup became known as "invincible”

The craze began, people were lining up in front of Target and Starbucks for hours before opening, and fighting in Stores to get their hands on the latest limited edition of the Stanley. Much like the Stanley Cup, the Labubu has become a viral status symbol and must-have collectible.

Labubu wasn't always a doll…

Originally, Labubu was created by a Hong Kong artist named Kasing Lung, as a character in a series of illustrated stories called “The Monsters”. The Labubu in the series is the star and is described as playful and mischievous. Lung, based out of Hong Kong, partially grew up in the Netherlands, where he was influenced by the region's Nordic fairytales and folklore.

In 2015 “The Monsters” were brought to life as collectible art toys. The Labubu’s ugly-cute appearance stood out from the rest of the typical cutesy toys. The Labubu is sold in various colors and sizes and allows fans to customize their Labubu to reflect their personality and style.

The Labubu primarily soared in popularity across Southeast Asia when Lisa, a member of the famous K-pop girl group BLACKPINK, was spotted with a Labubu and that’s what triggered worldwide popularity.

Like anything spotlight, there is usually a controversy surrounding it…

In the case of the Labubu there has been speculation that it is actually a cuter version of the demon Pazuzu, a Demon of the Wind.

Some owners of the Labubu doll have reported that when they received the doll they experienced paranormal activity. The doll's eyes glow red and following them move across the room, the creepy smile stretching wider, finding unexplainable small scratch marks on their body or the doll vanishing and reappearing around their house. There is concern that the potentially demonic toy’s target audience are children who can be easily influenced by demonic entities.

The media has picked up on the Labubu Controversy. In the latest season of South Park, The Labubu craze sweeps through the school, and the children use the Labubu doll for a Satanic Ritual. (Episode 4, Season 27) And if you believe the “Simpsons Predict Everything” Conspiracy Theory; in the Halloween Special "Treehouse of Horror XXVIII," Maggie gets possessed by Pazuzu, the same demon linked to Labubu.

So what of the Labubu in Second Life?

Whether you believe Labubus to be just a popular toy or an entity that causes demonic chaos, Labubus has inspired Spin-off versions all over Second Life in every form. A phenomenon that can not be ignored!

Highlight What is Hot for Mid Fall 2016 - What are the trending fall colors and popular fashion choices - Camury Reporting

Can you believe we're already Mid November? Time flies and autumn leaves keep falling.

The snow will be here soon ... But there's still time to dust off our inventory, clean that boot full of cobwebs and get out that  forgotten jacket, to remake new looks for the season.

Let’s see what some of the talented designers in SL have prepared for the fall

- Hidden hands: the clothes’ sleeves are long, hiding avatar hands. Hands can also be covered by gloves that accompany the arm’s extension.
- 70’s and 80’s Retro: a continuation of 70’s trend, with flare pants, floral dresses, turtleneck, shoulder pads and leather. The stamps feature tribal, ethnic, gypsy and Peruvian boho styles. Take the opportunity to use strong colors, like orange, yellow and vinyl.  Fringe is also in high demand.

- Exposed bust: the bust is exposed openly, with transparency or naked effects.
- Unisex: unisex style provides skirts for men and suits for women.
- Overlays: overlays are fashionable, with the use of skirts over thick tights or long trousers.
- Military uniform: the military uniform keeps going on strong, with the military officer’s coat with double button.

 - Color: Prints all over is the autumn theme, not only through the usual colors such as leopards or tigers, but also in cheerful shades like green, blue and yellow.

 - Black and White Stripe: black and white stripes will wrap many fall fashion looks and will show up in pants, shirts and coats.

- Pink Color: This color was consecrated as one of the most important colors of fall fashion. Pieces such as pleated skirts, culottes and ballet flats will be the must-haves of this style. The  color pink can be used in a full look or combined with gray, beige, blue and mustard yellow, creating a mix of ingenuity and sensuality.

- Covers: The covers, pelerines and ponchos are also in fall fashion.

In fall fashion everything can overlap, merge and mix, ie, creativity and irreverence are the watchwords.

Different looks have their places: the romantic Victorian, the grim Gothic, the hard military, the sweet ballerina, the glamorous diva, the demure schoolgirl - all these styles have their place on stage without any restriction, so choose your own and have fun!

FALL FASHION TRENDS- WHATS COLORS AND TRENDS ARE GOOD FOR THIS SEASON- Camury Reporting…

Fashion trends for fall 2015 are inspired by the 60s. It is tradition in fashion to determine a color that represents the year. In 2015, the hue “ Marshala”  also known as maroon and accent colors seems to be the trend for fall and winter. Designers in Second Life are creating fashion in these inspired trends and colors during the cold seasons.

Here are some Fashions trending now
Demin
Denim never goes out of style. This material can be used for dresses, jackets, and jeans during the autumn and winter seasons. The denim fabrics give the look a more stripped and sporty style and is a great option, comfortable and practical.

Gothic
The Gothic trend is still popular in SL and is back in style for Fall/Winter 2015. It seems to have a new romanticism about it. Dark colors, crosses and veils are an integral part of this style as well as skulls and Victorian style jewelry.
The punk style is also very appreciated in SL. Its return is was evident in fashion trends for autumn 2015, where the black color is predominant. The plush (imitating animal skins) and vinyl brings more charm to the punk style.
•  T-shirts and tops have prints, bands and street symbols.
• The mixture of colors, materials and print, are always contrasting, even mixed in the same outfit ensemble.
• Accessories such as boots and shoes with metal inserts, bracelets, necklaces and belts with applications and chains are essential in this style.

Metallic shine
One more reminder that the style of the 60s is on the rise is the presence of metallic luster. Autumn and Winter trends bring details in gold, silver and other metallic colors in both dresses and accessories, as well as in footwear. With the coming of new textures SL offers beautiful metallic options.

Footwear
Speaking of footwear, the knee high boots is back. If you want to be trendy, do not hesitate to buy boots with lace or shiny vinyl. The high and medium boots are also trendy and will enhance your style with a retro charm, perfect for the season.

Plaid Fabrics
Plaid has been popular in previous Fall and Winters Seasons. It is still fashionable for 2015.  This trend can be seen in pants, dresses and even accessories like headbands and scarves.
One piece of plaid is enough to spice up your look. For example: if you are wearing a pair of plaid pants try pairing it with a shirt without patterns, or use neutral color to balance your look.

Sweaters
Who said that comfort cannot be fashionable? The sweaters is invading the catwalks, complete with embroidery, textures mixes and creative prints. To make the look even more comfortable, the maxi style is in fashion this autumn and Winter. You can find beautiful sweaters in different stores in SL.

Whatever your style is, be aware of what is trending now and enjoy the season!

Fashion-Crazy for Hair-Becca Drascol Reporting

When we think fashion, we think outfits, shoes, boots and the like. Some people tend to change and buy outfits often, as a passion, perhaps even an addiction. I know I for one am a shoes and boots fanatic. And it becomes easy to be crazy for hair when in Second life we can change hair style, color and even the cut by simply a click of a button in our inventory, or simply buying something new. In real life we can't dye our hair from blonde to deep red and back to blonde in just minutes...but in SL we can do whatever we wish with our hair as long as someone in our world creates it. As SL grows and creators do too, new HUDS make it possible to have even the wildest of looks. From black hair with purple streaks, to blue hair with a pink tipped ponytail all done with just one HUD sometimes.
With easy ways to constantly change up your "do," Second Life not only makes hair fashion fun but also simple  for even a beginner. One can so easily become a hair fanatic for many reasons. And with all the possibilities, I decided to ask residents some fun hair questions.

How often do you change hair?(not buy a new one but how often do you change one style to another from inventory)

VividDreamz Resident: Once per two weeks. I love changing it up with each outfit or every other outfit! Every hairstyle tells my mood and style that day or week.

Havenly1 Resident: Maybe twice a week, depending the outfit.

How often do you buy new hair?

VividDreamz Resident: Not very often maybe once a month because when I do buy hair I tend to buy more than one style or color.

Havenly1 Resident: Every 2 months maybe if I see something I like.

Do you prefer wild hair such as wild colors and looks? Or more glam or reserved looks?

VividDreamz Resident: Slightly all the above because some outfits are wild, some are classy., some are revealing which I like to wear something more glamorous. As I stated above each style defines my mood and style that day or week, depending on outfit.

Havenly1 Resident: Hmm I prefer more Glam looks or Reserved, but also like to go wild depending on what I’m doing :)
Havenly1 Resident: Hard question lol.

About how much do you usually spend on a new hair? Do you buy one color or fatpacks?

VividDreamz Resident: L$200 to L$400 is about the range I spend.I buy one color but in separate packs because the fatpacks tend to run higher in price than buying them individually  when I dont want fatpacks, but if I end up buying a fatpack it could range more higher priced like L$800 or more then L$1.2K.

Havenly1 Resident: One color and around 100 - 250

Do you change your hair to fit the occasion? For an event?

VividDreamz Resident: I tend to change my hair depending on color of my outfit or style of my outfit. Unless event is wild hair or something to do with hair is the only time I change it for an event. But also for a wedding I would change it for that occasion to something more classy or an updo!

Havenly1 Resident: Because I stay blonde, except one nice long red hair one I stay the most in one color.

Hair Fanatic or just hair fun…

Rather you’re a fanatic or just have fun changing styles or only change as Second Life grows and changes with the times, I think hair can be fun, crazy, bright, wild, glam or reserved. I firmly believe hair is a part of fashion especially in SL because we can freely change it on a whim to fit our needs and or wants. Unlike real life where a bad haircut has to grow back, with SL one is free to simply delete bad hair and pick a new one. Are you hair crazy? A fanatic? Or is hair just a fun part of your sense of fashion and style? I think rather you change hair every outfit or linger with one color and style for months on end, we all love hair.
