About Rossini Events

Rossini Events was established in July 2016 - a collaboration between MichaelJ Rossini and Valeri Carissa.

As well as providing private and public events we also pride ourselves on the charity fundraisinng events we organize.

We aim to have a charity event every month, and the charities we support are Feed a Smile, Relay for Life and Making Strides

To date, we have raised over 300k for these charities

Our success is largely down to the quality of our entertainers - we use only the very best.  We also use some of the very best venues in Second Life

Everyone involved in our events donates their time free of charge, and every penny we raise goes directly to the charity concerned.

If you have any questions, or require further info, please contact MichaelJ Rossini or email michaeljrossini@gmail.com

Get your Spring Hunt on! – Camury Reporting...

Second Life Hunts are a favorite activity among many avatars. In most the hunts the items are free but occasionally there may be a small charge per item.
Commonly, an organizer brings together a group of stores that will define a theme for the hunt and set a hunt icon according to the chosen theme.

The hunt icons are hidden in participating stores or on SIMs.  In many instances clues or tips are supplied so that you can find the icon more easily and claim your prize. Often there is an inworld group for the hunt you have chosen.  The participants of which exchange helpful tips with one another or ask for help when a particular icon proves to be somewhat elusive.

On some hunts you get to follow a Land Mark trail. You go to the first stop, obtain the prize, and within the prize there will be a Land Mark for the next store in order for you to continue with the hunt.

Enjoy the good spring winds and have fun participating in some of the incredible hunting during the month of April.

Black, Sexy and Essential Color Hunt

This is a store hunt and the prizes consist of 10 full outfits which include a long dress, high heels and makeup. This is a $ 1 hunt and the icon that you must find to win the prizes is a black Mannequin. You can find tips for hunting on the notecard that you pick up at the store.

Hunt Dates: Apr 1 – Apr 30
Hunt Object: Black Mannequin
Price: L$1 Hunt
Start: Valentine Heart Island

Easter Hunt 2017

Easter is coming early with this store hunt.  Find the eggs to pick up the prizes which are either clothes or accessories. This is a $ 0 hunt. The store has a blog but I did not find any hints there to help find the icons.

Hunt Dates: Apr 1 – Apr 30
Hunt Object: Egg
Price:  L$0 Hunt
Start: Nautilus – Adherbal

Quest Fur Cover

Quest Fur Cover is a grid wide hunt that takes place every 6 months bringing as many communities and stores together as possible. Quest Fur Cover is sponsored by Furry Fashion and is managed by Skyler GlassWing, Becky Doulton and Amethyst Crystal.

This particular hunt focuses on 50 furry-friendly stop locations across the grid, and the icon you must find is Hedgehog, to pick up incredible free gifts.

Hunt Dates: Apr 1 – Apr 30
Hunt Object: Hedgehog
Price: L$0 Hunt
Start: Furry

No Eggscuses Easter Is Comin! 2 Hunt

Enjoy the good winds of spring and join in this hunt with an Easter theme as well as spring and its colors. There are twenty places to look for an Easter egg which will enable you to pick up the prizes, which are spring clothing, spring decor etc.

Hunt Dates: Apr 1 – Apr 30
Hunt Object: Easter Egg
Price: L$1 Hunt
Start: soft voices

Broken Heart Hunt

You've had a fight with your boyfriend and now you're heartbroken. Stop your crying and moping around on the couch and join this grid wide hunt  with the theme of Broken hearts, and lost love. There are 50 stops where you can find a broken black heart to win the prizes.

Hunt Dates: Apr 1 – Apr 30
Hunt Object: Broken Black Heart
Price: L$1 Hunt
Start: Chamotte

Remember that hunting is not a competition. So you can find other hunters on the sites, make new friends and go hunting together. When more people gather to search, the icons can be found faster.

Good luck!

GeekSpeak – will we lose all our online privacy? Join the Discussion Saturday April 8th at 12pm SLT

What does ‘Born in the USA!’ mean to you? Right now being American means that you have less online privacy than the people of North Korea.  Your ISP now has the right to store and to sell all your online activity, every little thing.  If you look for erotica online will you get ads for it?  If you don’t log in for a week can you expect a visit from burglars?

Probably the rest of the world will follow America.  So what will it mean when every detail of your online life can be sold, mixed, data-mined and resold on a whim?  Perhaps you think it is a good thing.  Perhaps it will stop illegal activity from being planned online.  Or perhaps you are terrified but have no idea how to fight back.  Maybe we can give you some tips.  Or maybe we should all just run for the hills.

Come and join us in GeekSpeak.  Remember though that nothing we say is private.

Spotlight on The mOBSCENE- A New Gothic Grunge Playground for Adults- Lanai Jarrico Reporting…

The Gothic and Grunge era began in the mid 90’s with bands like Nirvana, Marilyn Mansion,  Pearl Jam and Stone Temple Pilots. Not only did the music influence the era so did fashion trends.  Today the toned down version of Grunge can still be seen in “Emo” and even steampunk. For many adults today, Gothic & Grundge brings back nostalgic memories of youth in a time when going against the norm was the norm.

POETRY OF THE PLANETS Opens on LEA 4

A new project opens on Linden Endowment for the Arts Region 4 Sunday, April 2nd.  Poetry of the Planets is a community poetry project conceived and created by Caledonia Skytower, known best for her work with Seanchai Library.  Skytower combines her decades of real world professional experience in theatrical design, with a life long involvement in both vocal and instrumental music, to conjure an installation whose intent is to inspire the writing of poetry.

No stranger to writing Skytower, who has self-published nine titles published of of fiction, poetry and reflective essays, sees this as a re-arrangement of something she has been doing for years. "This goes back to the beginning of my career, before i designed my first musicals and operettas.  I would always come up with a play list of music to have running while I worked on a show. I was weened on Disney's Fantasia, and I have a keen appreciation for how music can heighten a creative journey."

Inspired by Gustav Holst's symphonic suite The Planets, Skytower has created seven "planets"  in the air above LEA 4, each themed to a different movement:  Venus; the Bringer of Peace, Mercury: the Winged Messenger, etc. Residents can teleport from the terrain level to each location, use a URL link station to play that particular movement of Holst's symphony in their internet browser, explore the environment that has been inspired by the music, and are then invited to be inspired themselves to write poetry.

Poems can be submitted  to be the featured poem of the day on the  Poetry of the Planets project blog, which will also be shared on facebook and Google +. Writers retaining full rights to their compositions.   In May, Skytower will select poems to be featured at a live reading event.  Additionally, a poetry resource center is available at LEA 4 for those interested in cultivating their muse.

Information can be found on the project blog, and at the installation itself.  Poetry of the Planets will be open through the end of May on LEA 4.

All That Jazz - Camury Reporting...

Jazz, what does that word evoke in your mind?  Nothing.  It evokes something in your soul.  It’s wild, jubilant music.  It made people feel free when it emerged  from the barrooms of New Orleans.  It made people feel alive and it got people up and dancing.  And nobody played it like they played it in New Orleans, a city already used to feeling jubilant, and expressing its jubilation. A city where you could dance down the middle of the street, in the middle of the daytime, in the middle of the week, and instead of people wondering why you weren't at work, they'd be wondering how they could join you. The glory of New Orleans is that it's still that way today. Everyone loves a parade. Everything is touched by the joyous anarchy called New Orleans Jazz.

Jazzis a music genre that originated amongst African Americans in New OrleansUnited States  in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, and developed from roots in Blues and Ragtime.  Since the 1920s jazz age, jazz has become recognized as a major form of musical expression. It then emerged in the form of independent traditional and popular musical styles, all linked by the common bonds of African American and European American musical parentage with a performance orientation. Jazz is characterized by swing and blue notes, call and response vocals, polyruthms and most of all improvisation. Jazz has roots in West African cultural amd musical expression, and in African American music traditions including blues and ragtime, as well as European military band music.  Although the foundation of jazz is deeply rooted within the Black experience of the United States, different cultures have contributed their own experience and styles to the art form as well. Intellectuals around the world have hailed jazz as "one of America's original art forms".

Jazz has undergone a multitude of transformations throughout the 20th century. There is currently room for several Jazz genres. These aspects range from Dixieland to the experimentalism of Freejazz, through standards and more ambitious compositions.
