LOOK of the YEAR The winners are...QUINTE and YEBEN!

The fifth LUXE Paris LOOK of the YEAR is Quinte from China and the first LUXE Dot Be LOOK of the YEAR is Yeben from Belgium!

Right behind them, Selene Snowpaw from USA, first runner up in the Women's category, Ahn Avion from USA, first runner up in the Men's category, and Melany Aguilera from Peru and Nasao Elton from Colombia, the second runners up!

The excitement was at its peak, Sunday, on AIM stage as the LOOK of the YEAR finalists competed in a final challenge. On the theme ''Romance at the Ritz'', the finalists rivaled elegance, really carrying us into the luxurious ambience of this mythical Paris hotel.

As the finalist were walking the runway, the 13 judges evaluated their style, elegance and charisma and gave them a last score. This score was added to the Swimsuits competition and Happy Sunny Afternoon challenge scores, assigned last week, and the total determined the winners.

LIKE A FAIRY TALE!

The two winners were astounded as the two of them had no modeling background and that several experienced models were in the race.

''I am totally shocked'' said Quinte, who was intensely trained by her friends models the last past weeks.

''I still wonder what’s happening to me'' confided Yeben, a DJ in his ''normal'' Second Life.

It is not mandatory to be a professional model to enter the LOOK of the YEAR competition but you must demonstrate that you have the potential to become one. The LOOK of the YEAR organization, together with In-Nova Academy and Proposes, offers an accelerated modeling course for the inexperienced finalists and a scholarship to the winners.

IT'S A FIRST!

This is however the first time in five years that the LUXE Paris LOOK of the YEAR is a new comer to the modeling world. As for LUXE Dot Be, Yeben’s victory comes as part of the brand’s first participation in the competition.

Quinte and Yeben distinguished themselves by the quality and originality of their look and their excellent performance on the runway, convincing the judges that they were the best possible ambassadors!

The new LUXE Paris and LUXE Dot Be LOOK of the YEAR each received the tidy sum of L$50,000! They also won: One year of free shopping at LUXE Paris/LUXE Dot Be (a value of L$30 000), a fashion feature in The Second Life Enquirer and in the magazines ModeLS,  SL Confidencial and L'Amour Diversity (a value of L$30 000),  a private dinner party for 20 at the Duplex Club (a value of L$5000), a scholarship at In-Nova Model Training (a value of L$4000), a gift card of L$3500 at ProPose, a gift card of L$3000 at Alma Makeup, a crown by Zuri Jewelry (a scepter for the man), a value of L$1500, an official picture by Jack Rock (a value of L$1000), an hour coaching with Ponchituti Boucher and a VIP invite to be part of AIM Modeling Agency.

The two runners up in each category (women & men) also received a scholarship at In-Nova Model Training (a value of L$4000), a Zuri tiara or scepter (L$1000), a gift card from ProPose (L$2500 for the first and L$1500 for the second), a gift card from Alma Makeup (L$1000 for the first and L$500 for the second) and an official picture by Jack Rock (L$1000). They will also get an hour coaching with Ponchituti Boucher and be interviewed by ModeLS Magazine and SL Confidencial.

Bravo to the winners but also to all the finalists who gave a fabulous show!

LOTY Swimsuits & Happy Sunny Challenges

LOOK of the YEAR: THE SWIMSUITS COMPETITION
PHOTOS by JACK ROCK

It was hot, hot, hot Sunday at AIM theater as the LOOK of the YEAR finalists presented the Swimsuits Competition!

For the occasion, LUXE Paris designers, Parisian Skytower and Mika Palmyra, and LUXE Dot Be designer, Boniefacio, have created an exclusive swimsuit for each of the finalists, inspired by their RL national flag.

This challenge was the first of the LOOK of the YEAR finale and it was immediately followed by the Happy Sunny Afternoon Challenge. For this challenge, the finalists have been asked to prepare a LUXE Paris or LUXE Dot Be outfit expressing the joy of a beautiful sunny day.

The third and last LOOK of the YEAR challenge, Romance at the Ritz in Paris, will take place this Sunday, July 21th, as the grand finale, with the unveiling of the LUXE Paris 2019 LOOK of the YEAR and the LUXE Dot Be 2019 LOOK of the YEAR.

LUXE Paris and LUXE Dot be are looking for two ambassadors, a woman and a man, who distinguish themselves by the quality of their look and who will represent the brands with grace and charisma.

The winner of the Women's category will be the fifth LUXE Paris LOOK of the YEAR and the men's winner, the first LUXE Dot Be LOOK of the YEAR as it is the first year that the contest has a men's category.

The two winners will each receive L$50,000 cash, one year of free shopping at LUXE Paris/LUXE Dot Be (a value of L$30 000), a fashion feature in the magazines ModeLS,  SL Confidencial, L'Amour Diversity and The Second Life Enquirer (a value of L$30 000), a private dinner party for 20 at the Duplex Club (a value of L$5000), a scholarship at In-Nova Model Training (a value of L$4000), a gift card of L$3500 at ProPose, a gift card of L$3000 at Alma Makeup, a crown by Zuri Jewelry (a scepter for the man), a value of L$1500, an official picture by Jack Rock (a value of L$1000), an hour coaching with Ponchituti Boucher and a VIP invite to be part of AIM Modeling Agency.

A panel of 14 judges evaluates the finalists, assigning a score for each challenge and it is the addition of these scores that will determine the winners. The LOOK of the YEAR grand finale is not open to the public in order to keep the lag as low as possible so the finalists and the judges can be at their best. But the show will be broadcast on YouTube! Keep an eye on The SL Enquirer to get the link to watch this exciting event!

Pulse Entertainment Productions Owned by Avatar PR Presents A whole New Breed of Reality TV: Made to Model Reality TV Show!

With a chance to win L$200,000, (approximately $800.00 USD) to jump start a modeling career in Second Life, luxury living in the M2M Mansion at the grove rent free for one month, modeling contracts with SL Vogue and Avante Modeling Agency, a feature in Nu Vibez Magazine - including a photo session, a paid scholarship to SL Vogue Modeling Academy and other fabulous perks and high profile exposure.

Avatar PR is going all out for one lucky winner. You don’t even need to have prior modeling experience. This competition is open to anyone with a desire to be a top SL Model.

Made to Model Reality TV Show will feature 14 contestants competing in challenges which including modeling, runway, photography sessions and more. To make the competition more dramatic, every contestant will wear the Life HUD version 2.0 throughout the competition for added reality TV show effects and day to day human tasks.  Details for  each episode will be provided as they air weekly on iMoogi.tv and YouTube.  They determine which contestant will be sent home until there is just one remaining to be crowned the first ever Miss Made to Model!  Are you up for the challenge?

Important information about Made to Model Reality TV Show:

This competition is offering one lucky winner VIP prizes that will catapult their Modeling Career in Second Life. How can Model hopefuls register to be a contestant?

Filipa Thespian

Filipa Thespian:
We have the registration boards up in the Made to Model Headquarters at The Grove Country Club Estates.  These boards are more than just an entry task for the girls, they are a tool that can be used for the girls who make it, during the competition, to save them from elimination.  The boards maintain a tally of popularity votes, and only the votes that happen on the boards, truly count toward a model's salvation. Just as a model's power comes in the people she can inspire to make a purchase of a designer's wares, how many she can motivate to vote for her on her board shows a glimmer into her abilities and value as a Made to Model winner.

Anyone can enter the competition, but how do you narrow it down to 14 contestants what criteria must they exhibit to qualify in the selection process?

Filipa Thespian:
We select from those who gain 50 votes or more, and our choices are based on personality, desire to compete, desire to win and intelligence.  Once a model reaches 50 votes, she is given a personal interview by several members of the staff and production team.  She's advised of what to expect and critiqued for how she reacts to this information and her availability.  If chosen at this phase, she is then incorporated into various PR events and photographic opportunities we provide, to test her mettle, her ability to follow direction and to see how hard she works all while the show is marketed by the visibility of the contestants.  If she makes it through this phase, she is a Made to Model contestant and will be on the show.  Any points she earns during this pre-show competing, are tallied into her "salvation points" and saved for when she might need them on the show.

What is the Life HUD version 2.0 that each contestant will be wearing? What does it do?

Filipa Thespian:
Oh Life Hud is very exciting.  If you've ever played The Sims™ by EA Games, you'll get it!  Just like in that game, the Life Hud adds to your avatar, basic human bodily needs on a meter, that you need to keep after, such as the need to eat, cleanliness and other bodily functions.  More recent version of the Hud includes health ... your avatar can actually get sick!  Oh, and careers ... their are careers built into this, that satisfy human needs such as happiness, the need to achieve and succeed and so on.  We believe this will add to the show in ways that you just can't get in virtual worlds without it!  Besides, its a lot of fun and surprisingly to me, many of the girls already had their huds, they already "played the game."  Life Hud has provided the food needed during the show to keep the girl's tummy's from rumbling and the house's appliances will be suitably scripted and fully Life Hud enabled providing the girls with most of what they need to succeed.

To give contestants a little insight on how the elimination process works, what do they have to watch out for to lessen their chances of being sent home?

Filipa Thespian:
We have some of the most talented and amazing hosts and judges on the show.  They have extensive experience in the Second Life Modeling and Fashion communities and include Miss Emma Portilo, formerly COO of Opium Modeling Agency; QueenToy Cyberstar, founder and owner of SL Vogue; and Miss Kimmera Madison, Fashion Designer & Founder of Tres Beau designs and the lady who formerly ran the Miss Virtual World Competition and Boulevard Agency.  These are the three ladies who the contestants need most to impress, although some episodes will have special guest judges for specific challenges, and those wont be announced until it happens!  The judges will be watching the girls for their ability to learn and grow, their viability on camera, ability to take direction, skill in front of a camera, skill in styling and many more elements that go into being a top fashion model in Second Life.  Oh, and lets not forget the ever dreaded, popularity scoring that will include social media and tools we provide on the Made to Model website.

Aside from the grand prize of L$200,000 Lindens, can you elaborate on the Grand Prize package?

Filipa Thespian:
Well the money is lovely, but yes, there is more to it.  As a winner, Miss Made to Model will be moved into the Made to Model mansion at The Grove Country Club Estates, as her home, and she will be granted the ability to live there, free rent, for a month.  When the month is up, she will be given first dibs on renting that home before we make it publicly available.  While living in the ultimate in SL luxury, she will begin her career by attending the illustrious SL Vogue Modeling Academy, on a fully paid scholarship, followed by paid modeling gigs as an SL Vogue Agency Model.  With that, she also becomes an Avante Modeling Agency model and will be found often in the pages of Nu Vibez Magazine starting with a feature article, interview and photo session designed to catapult her into the public eye.

Scheduling and Time management is a challenge in itself when it comes to SL Competitions. With that being said, Can you tell us about the filming process and approximately how much time will contestants need to dedicate to this competition?

Filipa Thespian:
When we begin filming, it will be done straight through until we're done.  We film all episodes back to back, go into post-production, get the episodes ready for prime-time THEN, we will release one a week ... just like they do in RL.  There will be a period of several weeks the girls will need to be ready to work and the filming schedule will be posted to the girls.  They'll know the base times when they need to be on set and ready to get down and dirty in the competition.

Who are the sponsors of Made to Model Reality TV Show and what are their contributions?

Filipa Thespian:
We have some amazing sponsors, we cannot thank them enough.  First and foremost, thank you to The Grove Country Club Estates which is providing us with the lovely parcel on which we built the custom Made to Model Mansion, and their generosity of the free rent prize to the winner.  Then, there's LIFE HUD of course, providing the Life Hud 2.0 system and the food and tools needed to "play".   There are a few sponsors we're working on right now but they're not quite ready to be mentioned them.  There's still time to become a sponsor and take advantage of the PR and visibility that comes from working with this show and our group.  The information's available on our website.

When is filming expected to begin?

Filipa Thespian:
We're in the midst of gearing up with pre-show PR and selection challenges and getting all the final details in order.  The filming will begin in January, giving everyone the chance to get through the holiday crazies and to take advantage of that slow period that happens just after the holidays are over.

During the competition and filming of the show, will models be supplied with a wardrobe selection from the  sponsors or will the models have to come up with their own styles and outfit choices?

Filipa Thespian:
The contestants have already experienced this with our Halloween photo-shoot for Nu Vibez Magazine ... when we have a photo-shoot where we insist on what they wear, we provide all attire.  Also, we are lining up fashion designers who will be providing attire and who may appear on the show too (don't want to give too much away) as guest judges and challenge leaders.  These Designers will be announced soon, but a they include Paris Metro Couture and Tres Beau for certain!

What else can you tell our readers about what to expect from Made to Model Reality TV Show without giving too much away?

Filipa Thespian:
Fun ... Reality TV Drama ... high quality, creative filming that's enjoyable to watch ... the ability to affect the outcome by voting for the ladies and so much more.  If you are someone interested in participating in such a way, get yourself in the Made to Model group inside Second Life as a fan, so that you know when we put out the call for votes and you can potentially find yourself as an extra on the show!

Contest Judging Process

A panel of judges selected SL's Got Talent contestants from Open Mic Auditions held last week.  The judges are a group of distinguished venue owner and/or artists themselves.  They bring a wealth of experience in the entertainment industry in real life and in Second Life.   There are a total of eight judges.  They will rotate at each round.
SL’s Got Talent is about providing a platform for contestants to help extend or jump start virtual live music career.  It is NOT a popularity contest.  During the contest rounds, the judges will execute the SLGT scoring system ranking each performer based on their performance at that specific round. The scores are tallied at each round to determine the contestants moving on to the next round.

Sweetheart's Pageant Winner is........ BroadwayGirl1 Resident!

The SL Enquirer has actively been following the Ms. Sweethearts Pageant, and recently found out that the new Ms. Sweetheart for 2015 is BroadwayGirl1 Resident!

The competition was held at 10 am SLT on Saturday, March 14, 2015 at the Sweethearts Jazz Social Club amidst a delicately decorated stage and runway.  At the base of the runway, were the following three judges:  Koko Mapiya, CEO of Regal Academy ◦ Agency ◦ Boutiques ◦  Magazine; his wife Eibhlíne, who is the acting Owner and Founder of Regal  Academy ◦ Agency ◦  Boutiques ◦  Magazine; and Mami Jewell, Founder and Designer of -AZUL- Fashions.  Though Nikki Mathison acted as the fourth judge, she had to leave the Pageant due to a prior RL obligation.

In addition to preparing the finalists for the pageant prior to the competition, these three judges were a responsible for posing questions to them, as well as ultimately judging the finalists in the following areas: Intelligence, Maturity, Humbleness, Avatar Beauty, Gracefulness, Personality, and their ability to answer questions when asked.

In addition to being poised and elegantly dressed in a regal black and white ballroom gown, Sweethearts Owner Shannon Bramlington acted as primary announcer and Facilitator of the pageant.  Prior to informing the audience that fifth finalist LadyRoseCherry Serenity was unable to participate due to preexisting RL obligations, Bramlington encouraged audience members to be polite to the judges, finalists, and others involved in the pageant by stating, “We do prefer for you NOT to send ANY IM's to ANY of our judges, Finalists, or to Blake or [myself] so that we all can keep our focus on the task at hand.”

The Task At Hand:  Crowning Ms. Sweetheart Finalist BroadwayGirl1 Resident
When asked by pageant judge Eibhline what the best and worst parts of Sweethearts Jazz Club were and why, BroadwayGirl1 Resident explains, “The best part of the Sweethearts Jazz Club is the warm welcome that you are given by the hostesses, friends and the owners. They make you feel like you belong. I can honestly say that there is nothing worse having directly to do with the club, other than the personality clashes among its members. When you think about it, we all have different personalities and it would be impossible not to have an occasional conflict…”

Occasional conflicts aside, the judges involved came together in their decision to crown BroadwayGirl1 Resident Ms. Sweetheart 2015. As such BroadwayGirl1 Resident will act as an Ambassador for Sweethearts.  As an ambassador, BroadwayGirl1 Resident will be highly involved in Sweethearts related charity events; these events will, among other things, benefit individuals who suffer from Alzheimer’s Dementia, as well as benefit other nonprofit organizations like Creations for Parkinson’s.

Now that BroadwayGirl1 has been crowned Ms. Sweethearts 2015, she has an assortment of plans as to how she will spend her $100,000L prize.  She states, “To enjoy my prize, I would be saving it and not spending it all at once. I would be saving some for my wedding, and I would be frugal with the prize and perhaps give some of the prize to charity.”
With that being said, we at the SL Enquirer want to extend a warm congratulations to not only Ms. Sweetheart’s crown winner BroadwayGirl1 Resident, but would like to commend all the finalists who participated in the pageant.

R.I.R. Raceway for Beginners, Advanced and Pro Class- Lanai Jarrico Reporting…

In 1948 the National Association for Stock Car Racing was founded and held its first stock car race at Charlotte Speedway in North Carolina. Today this spectator sport  has  a global fan base and has expanded  to over 1,200 races at over 100 tracks across North America per year. It is known widely as Nascar and has become a multi- billion dollar industry for racing enthusiasts who love to watch race cars and trucks whip around a track at lightning speed. Nascar’s Sprint Cup Series schedule for 2015 kicked off on February 14th and will run until November with the Championship Round. It is a very expensive hobby so not everyone can easily join Nascar. Also, as tragic as it may sound the wrecks seem to give the spectators a jolt of adrenaline.

Thanks to Second Life you can easily join the race without worrying about experience, going broke, being sent to the ER or worse.

In Second Life R.I.R Raceway Stock Car Racing Venue is the most realistic racing venue in Second Life that caters to beginners, advanced and pro class racing fans who have a need for speed and want to sit behind the wheel of their own racecar.

Founded in  Owned and operated by badguy Boozehound and Co owner doobeedoo Littlething, together they host 5 weekly races. Winners receive  Linden Trophies, points and bragging rights.

The SL Enquirer contacted Badguy to learn more about racing in SL and how residents can join in the fun.

Interview with R.I.R Raceway’s Badguy Boozehound

What brought you to Second Life and inspired you to create R.I.R Raceway?

I originally came to Second Life looking for new chat spots as Skype was closing Shoutcasts. Then I found a speedway I loved the idea and fun involved in SL racing. Unfortunately the venue didn’t last long and closed leaving me with a racing bug and wanting to continue. That’s when we started building a basic track on a friend’s land and from there it expanded to where the raceway is now.

Who is part of the R.I.R Staff and what are their roles?

The Staff at R.I.R are just the 2 owners Myself and my wife Doobeedoo Littlething. We are Sponsored By Black Lagoon Grafx Shop.

What type of services does R.I.R. offer racing enthusiasts in Second Life? Is race training provided?

There is a range of vehicles starting at a beginner class & working their way up the ranks to pro Sprint cup class. We don’t provide a training class but usually there is at least one racer practicing on the track.  All are very friendly and always willing to help a new driver find their groove on the track. Also, there are free demo cars which can be used in races for all the new people who come.

How can SLers get involved in the races, is there a membership requirement?

No,  just simply turn up for the race and use the free demo car provided or purchase the modifiable car that can be painted by the owner or their friends. The only thing is when you go to get a paint job on a full version car we ask that you register a race number not taken by another driver. Race Numbers already registered can be found here on R.I.R Main Website.  http://rirracingleague.webs.com

Do you use an SL group that racers and fans can join for racing news and alerts?

Yes, we do all Race video footage and race notices are posted there. Here is the link for the racing group for all the shin digs and events.
  secondlife:///app/group/68f84af7-d0d1-abc4-5321-b6cf854927f1/about

R.I.R Raceway hosts 7 weekly races. How do the races work? Can you explain the process from starting line to handing out trophies to the winners?

Yes, It is a fairly simple process for the drivers. The race director does most of the work.
We start an hour before the race with an official practice session for 45 mins. When that time is up, the practice times are reset and a 15 minute open qualify begins. Drivers start positions are in the order of fastest time in qualify to least fastest time in qualify being the last driver on the grid.

Being as we are on Second Life servers some of the small tracks and race gate systems won’t handle more than 10 drivers so, we may have to run heat race events to get to our top 10 drivers for the main event . These are two 5 lap races taking the pole sitter and  5 drivers from the two 5 lap races.  The remaining drivers who have not made a main event ticket will be put out in what we call a consi race. This is the last chance to make the main event and the top 4 finishers get this ride to the money race.

The rest of the grid will take 11th place and so on and be packing it up for the night and hoping for that big break on the next race day.

Where can I get the most updated race schedule?

The best place to get the most updated schedule is the main race shop in world on the wall in the office.
Also a race schedule and calendar are available on the main website

Are there sponsorship programs for racers? If so how can SL companies get their logos slapped on a Pro Racers car?

Many drivers are looking for  race sponsors to help them with vehicle purchases so they can get some paint on their racecar.  Many of them have found that special sponsor that gives them that opportunity. The best way is to show up on the race day and scout out the drivers during a practice and give them your proposal.

When a race is not happening, can anyone visit the raceway and get on the track?

Oh yes the tracks are open always for visitors to just come and enjoy doing laps in their own cars as well as the R.I.R Product line vehicles.  We close down the track we race at that particular day an hour before race time for official race practice so all the drivers get 45 minutes of good drafting practice before qualifying begins.

Do they need their own car or does the track provide rezzables to borrow?

As stated you can run a demo car which is provided free. These cars are no modify and lack the love of paint making. Usually drivers want to get the full version and get creative with his race paint. These demo cars have the same scripting quality of the full version car but are no modify.

You have a car shop on the premises, is this where SLers can purchase cars?

Yes the cars can be purchased in the main race shop located here on the main level.

How can SLers order a custom racecar ?

All the cars are the same to keep the race series controlled and monitored at all times. The class raced in that said day will all weigh the same and have same scripting  but can be tuned via a dialog menu to adjust steering downforce wedge ect.

We do have a custom painting booth as this is the only thing allowed to be modded on the car. All cars are equipped with big brother watching  them at all times and will let the creator and the driver know the car is not in tech.

Is there anything else you would like to share about R.I.R. Raceway?

Just for some good hard racing come join the fun @ R.I.R Raceway.
