Rolls Royce Drophead Enters the SL World With Comfort, Presence and Luxury- Khanjan Reporting...

One of the most expensive cars in real life has been created in Second life. That’s right we are talking about the Drophead Coupe based on the Rolls Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe. It is Unlike the real life version of that car which cost more than a third of a million pounds. (About $479,775 USD) The Surplus Motors Drophead cost L$2000 which is a great price I think for what you are getting including working rear-opening doors and great interior and exterior. Anyways let’s get down to business.

Space:
The Drophead Coupe does not have much legroom in the back so this would be one of those Luxury cars where you would prefer the front seats. If you click on the car and go into the menu click on Option>Advance>Resize. The rest is self-explanatory allowing you to resize so you can fit yourself and your friends in the car perfectly. The boot also known as the trunk is quite small but enough for shopping but for now nothing interactive can be done in there.

Comfort
Drophead uses modified ACS scripts version 7.02 with great sound. Sometimes when I’ve been driving it I’ve been tempted to rev it just to see if the engine is running. Having put this on a race track in Second Life is when I’ve really noticed the engine doing its thing when I accelerate hard.

Dashboard Layout
In two word the dashboard it’s simple & Beautiful. The interior of the Surplus Motor Drophead is textured incredibly matching the actual trimming of the real life version of the leather and wood. Both of which is assemble in beauty making both textures complement each other.  The dashboard of the car is very simple with the modern technology such as the media capability allowing accesses your favourite music.  I Love listening to Roads Untraveled by Linkin Park when driving the car.

Easy to Drive
In the car you sit very high with default camera view also being high which can be adjustable but I think it is perfect for a wide and long car like this. As you get to see the road you are driving on and you know where the road ends so you do not end up crashing into the car in front. Yes I admit I’ve crashed a few times in it but I have found that reversing and changing lanes and turning the whole car to the right or left is a bit tricky due to the length of the car.

In terms of steer apart from what I have just mentioned due to the lovely ACS scripts modification it feels effortless to accelerate. However, in manual mode I think the car shifts more than it needs to at times which can be a downside.

Fun to Drive
The Surplus Drophead is a fun car to drive no doubt about that which is more enjoyable than I expected. However, this does not include the tight bends which was annoying especially though Morningwood Valley.

Pricing
If money is not an object and you are happy to spend L$2000 this is the car when you are looking for Comfort, Presence and luxury.

Get it here!

THE NAKED TRUTH ABOUT YOKO IRETO - Dean Lawson Reporting

Images provided by Yoko Ireto
Yoko Ireto is a Second Life artist who seems to linger in the neon haze of cyber space where she creates moody shadowy images that intrigue the eye and causes the mind to wander into a sensual world that is both glamorous and crude, avant garde and ancient, and most of all, very lewd in it’s conduct. I had the good fortune to interview Yoko Ireto and found the artist to be very open and revealing in discussing the techniques involved in creating these images.

Dean : What initially attracted you to Second Life?

Yoko : Curiosity. The idea of a virtual world in which real people live their fantasies behind masks, and where everything seen is the product of someone's imagination and (sometimes hard) work. It has not changed much since, though I have matured and evolved in my character.

Dean : Are you involved in visual arts in real life? If so would you like to discuss your real life experience as an artist?

Yoko : Not at all. I am hopeless with a paintbrush or a pencil. I do like photography though and have been doing so for decades I do also love art in RL, and buy a lot of paintings, sculptures and other artifacts do decorate my interior - often from local artists when I do some traveling. I have been brought up in a very open, "cultural" and diverse environment.

Sunlight Images provided by Yoko Ireto

Dean : When viewing images titled "Sunlight" , "Bamboos" 1 and 2 , "Beau" , "Water Dragon 3" and "New Collins Land Party 4" I was very impressed by your use of shadows and shallow focus. Do you accomplish this inworld or do you use photoshop or is it a combination of both? Could you describe in detail your process?

Yoko : I try to do as much as I can inworld. Create the poses - although I love to work with poses from a select number of talented creators as well - make my own props, create my lighting, using both local lights and custom Windlight. Some shots can take days to be finalized, and sometimes about 40 or 50 shots to get the one... I pick the best angle / lighting to "hide" all the SL glitches inworld so that I have very little work to do in editing... roughly, what we used to do when processing our films... adjusting contrast and colors... That's when I work in a controlled environment, or studio. "Live" shots are a bit more challenging. I often use the "freeze frame" feature to get them right, but lighting is harder to work with, especially in indoor places. Regardless, I always work with the graphics settings on the highest level, and customize shadows, glow, depth of field, etc... a lot to suit the situation. The photo tools in Firestorm are just great for that.

The selection of pics you gave as examples is interesting. Sunlight, bamboos and Water dragon are studio work and were really simple and straight forward to make. Very little editing, and not a huge work on lighting either. Fast and easy "mood shots". Beau is a commissioned work, studio as well. I took more time for the lighting and props, but the pose was included in the furniture I used. All the shadows and glow / glare are inworld. New collins land party is part of a series of live shots at an opening party. The outdoor setting and the colorful environment helped a lot. I edited the colors mostly, but the bulk of it happened inworld. The editing tool I work with is the Gimp.

Body Art 10 Images provided by Yoko Ireto

Dean : Your work features a lot of nudity including close ups of female genitals such as "Courbet". One of your images, "Body Art 10" appears to feature a headless nude woman who appears to be bending backwards. "Femmes fatales" 1 and 2 feature a nude woman brandishing weapons. Are you making a statement with your depiction of nudes?

Yoko : *laughs warmly reading the question* Yes there probably are many statements and understatements in all my work. But the main thing is not what I state, it is what people feel when visualising, and how it appeals to each individual. Although, I mainly work for myself, my creativity being like a "high pressure valve" - but I do appreciate that others like to see my work and I am always humbled and grateful for it.
Here is a little background for these pieces that you cited as examples.
Courbet is part of a series that I made, reproducing real famous paintings. Degas, Boucher, Courbet to name a few. I wanted to learn from these geniuses. The challenge was to recreate the poses and understand their vision, but then, give the artwork my own touch. Courbet - L'Origine du monde - which represents a close up of a woman's genitals as the cradle of human kind, was very controversial at the time. And the pose itself, a real challenge with the SL avatar. Especially these avatars before our beautiful mesh ones of today!
Body Art 10 is a "live" shot. The woman has a head - I do not venture into morbid territories -  but I think the impact is always stronger when the model is not "personalized". This picture is also a very personal and "intimate" one. Body art - in all its forms - is something that I work on a lot. We are all beautiful through the eyes of the ones that love us, and despite the BDSM nature of some of these works, I guess one statement is that we can be a beautiful piece of art in someone else's eyes. Body and mind of course.
The series "Femme Fatale" was just a bit of fun for me but yes, the message is pretty obvious, although I have to admit that it was a bit "clumsy".

Images provided by Yoko Ireto

Dean : Is there anything you would like people to know about you or your art?

Yoko : I think I have already stated a lot! Briefly, I am a simple and approachable person, and always happy to share and talk about what I do without taking myself too seriously... and I love to understand what others do in SL as well!
My "art" is simply a way for me to let out some of the many things that boil inside me... I came to it just reflecting on a phrase of one of my SL "mentors", a dear friend of my early days here: "you need to have a purpose in SL...". I think I found it.
Oh, and I am always looking for *serious* models - males preferably as they are shyer and scarcer!

The History Of Hip Hop – A Second Life Event- October 9th-11th 2015

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
India Umia-Delgado, Producer
Shon Larsson, SPG ENT. Producer

A First Of Its Kind Cultural Event Produced For The Second Life Grid
On any given day of the week there is a DJ spinning Hip Hop music at a party on SL.  You will hear different styles from old school to new school, remixes to new releases.  There have been events involving groups of DeeJays of two to three and up to five at times, coming together for rezday, birthday, anniversary parties etc, but there has not been an event celebrating and paying homage to Hip Hop as a whole until now.

From October 9-11, 2015 DJ India Delgado, and Shon Larsson (DJ Rebellious1) are co-producing (a first of its kind on Second Life) three day History Of Hip Hop Event paying homage to the four elements of Hip Hop.  What will make this a historic event is we have brought together for the first time ten of SL’s best Hip Hop DeeJays from different regions of the USA in one place at the same time along with nine of the best hosts.  For three consecutive days, these DeeJays will represent their love of Hip Hop music.  We will cover the history of Hip Hop by era, by influential record label, conscious and gangsta MC’s, and by representing their region.  The DeeJays are: DJ Cinfull, DJ Styles Finess, DJ Soopa Uglee, DJ Mattmatrix, DJ MC Boogie James, DJ Ghost Dee, DJ Vendetta, DJ India, and DJ Rebellious1.  The Hosts for this event are: Z-Fatality, Quixotimus “QT”, PINK, Capricorn, Tasty Temptation, Chulamami, Kinkiie, Mkayla, and Thick Stakz.

You can’t talk about the history of Hip Hop without acknowledging B-boys and B-girls.  So to join us in this historic event, we have seven organizations performing break dance routines. Those organizations are: Xi Alpha Phi Fraternity, Theta Delta Alpha Sorority, Theta Delta Alpha-Teens, Theta Delta Alpha-Babies, Ksi Iota Sigma, Alpha Sigma Omega, and The Twin Star Dancers.  These groups will represent the East coast, West coast, Dirty South, and the Midwest.  If this wasn’t enough, you can’t talk about the History Of Hip Hop without talking about battles.  If you are familiar with the SL DJ scene, you know that DJ battles are few and pretty much non-existent unless it’s a female DJ battle.

For the first time ever on SL, we the DeeJays have come together to give the battles of all battles!  The DeeJays will battle it out on each of the three days of the event: Battle of the eras, Battle of the labels, and the grand battle, Battle of the coasts/regions.  This is not about who is better than the next DJ.  This is about our collective love of the music as we represent the coasts of choice.  East vs West vs Dirty South vs Midwest will be a wild free for all and an all-around epic event.  We are doing this event for all of you, but we are also doing this event for us.  We spend a lot of time performing for others but rarely show our appreciation for our brother and sister DeeJays.  We love the music and love sharing it.  It’s also a thank you to each other.

We could not produce such a huge event without the assistance of our VIP sponsors.  Thank you to the following sponsors for believing in our vision, and helping us bring this event to life.

Most Realistic BMW Finally in Second Life - Khajan Reporting...

The NAI Munich based on the RL BMW  3 series  takes a shot to cutback the recipe of the BMW four-door coupe concept and  combines it dashing coupe-like looks with four doors and a big boot to creating a  family car with stylish detail. The Munich  is offering a bigger boot and easier passenger transport. The NAI Munich may demand a L$1,099 premium but is worth every penny.
Styling
From some angles, the swooping rear glass doesn’t look all that radical, and onlookers could be forgiven for not noticing the difference between the NAI Munich and a standard NAI Saloon 7 2014.

That said, NAI Munich is still a well dressed machine in the metal.
Inside, the layout will be familiar to anyone who has driven a Beamer from NAI. You get the same upmarket feel and smart design, and highlights include the slender buttons.  NAI have also included an excellent central infotainment screen where you can access your favorite sides such as YouTube to watch videos while you are on the move or tune into your favorite radio station.
The NAI Munich has a very spacious feel with the extra headroom. Despite that having the  low-slung seating position makes sure the car feels sporty enough.

Driving

In short, it handles very well with realistic steering, which is to say very well indeed – if lacking the final word in excitement as when your press done on the accelerator it takes about a second to just GO lowering the reaction time compared to other NAI cars and it’s competitors.
The Munich has huge amounts of grip and launch control and can really go when it hits top speed with four wheel drive.
The car’s engine is very detailed compared to its competitors a full on unlike other SL motor vehicles which have nothing in the engine bay or a poor detail textures.
Reliability
You can buy the NAI Munich safe in the knowledge that it should match the reliability of NAI Brand. The can keeps on going and if you have any issue you could always reset or contact Ryo (NAI Creator)

Customization
The Munich can be customized with several colors including Lime, green, red, dark red, orange, yellow, grey, black, white  and many more. The lights can also be changed in terms of colors from super blue to evil green. The Munich also offers a tint feature allowing the glass on the car to be tinted. Other customizations that can be made to the car are interior colors, trims, gauges, wheels, and rims. In terms of body parts you are able to customize the front plate and have an option for extra shine if you wish.

Roleplay Mode
The Munich follows up on using the new muse scripts created by NAI which gives it a realistic feel as well as indicators so when turning you feel like you are actually in a real car. Even if you break down you can turn the hazard lights on giving you a realistic role play experience. The car also is fitted with an engine that you are able to fix in role play mode as when you are driving the car’s engine durability goes down. Therefore, allowing you to making repairs. The engine comes with a decently reliable rating from NAI standard which is stock but as you drive it you must make sure it is well looked after. NAI recommendation is making sure the durability is at least 20% and could be checked by going to the menu.
