Spotlight on King of Queens Production-Not just another venue on the grid.- SLE Reporting…

King of Queens Productions is an entertainment company that caters to everyone with a special addition to couples looking for a full-service dream wedding experience in Second Life.  Owned and operated by Juan Boucher; a 15+ year SL veteran.  Many might recognize him from a successful club he ran back in the day called African Pride. After a long hiatus, he returned and focused his attention on working closely with live singers, choreographers, and dancers where he was inspired to create (KoQ) King of Queens Productions. The SL Enquirer sat down with Jaun to learn more about this unique entertainment company and what you can expect from KoQ.

Interview with Jaun Boucher

SLE: Congratulations on winning a Spotlight Feature. Also, thank you for taking the time to sit with us while we find out more about Kings of Queen.

Jaun: Thank you for giving me this opportunity, I am very honored that you gave me this time to sit with you.

SLE: First off, tell me about Kings of Queen as in where did its conception come from. For example its mission statement and what your plans are with the company.

Jaun: After working for a while in Second Life when I returned back after a break and mastered Second Life again, I created King of Queen Productions, seeing that there is always a need for expanding in Second Life, and to use my knowledge to give Second Live Residents the best memory to take with them every time they leave my venue.  Because Second Life is for making memories, and those memories need to be treasured.

SLE: Your venue seems to cover a lot of aspects of Second Life. Meaning building, design, and shopping to name a few. Are you looking to offer as much as you can to the Second Life residence?

Jaun: It sounds like a lot, but with good management and time planning it really is not a lot :). I am doing landscaping and little builds, then my events are only a few days a week, so I carefully plan each project which I take on together with those who are helping me in it.  I will not offer a service if I cannot give the end product :)

SLE: You have stated you are from South Africa and wanted to give the KoQ the same kind of feel as South Africa. Can you tell our readers how you have or plan to achieve that?

Jaun: Right, now you thinking Elephants, Lions and Rhinos most probably :).  South Africans are known also to be friendly and easygoing, and I think this is what I plan to do.  We love nature as well, which is why my areas involve nature in it, like my Country wedding style, which reminds me of a typical South African Farm style in the country, and my beach club area - reminds me of the South African Coast. I am trying to support also South African designers in 2nd Life, by promoting them where I can, as there is a very few South African designers in Second Life.

SLE: Along with the live music and shopping you have mentioned you have a large wedding venue with various themes. Can you tell our readers about that and how they can schedule their large wedding there?

Jaun: I have 2 wedding venues, the Greece Style - which is surrounded by the ocean - a very formal venue, and we can cater to a lot of guests.  We recently had a wedding in that area, and it was very successful.  Then we have the large Country/Farm style area, which gives you the typical Country feeling at your wedding.  We have a few other styles as well, so depending on each client's needs and wants we can adjust the venue to what you want on your special day.  We plan everything for you in your budget!  They can contact me in-world via NC, visit our inworld Wedding area, or via our Website : https://625d45b3b0042.site123.me/.  Being together with my Second Life Partner for 10 years and renewing our vows for 10 years recently, I know the importance to make your partner/wedding day as perfect as possible.

SLE: We loved that you stress the importance of the community working together as a whole and including everyone while celebrating diversity and treating everyone with respect.  Without giving too much information away, what kind of service do you offer to businesses who are looking to promote at your venue?

Jaun: Well, depending on the promotion which they will need the field of promotion is big, and there are a lot of options.  Sponsor one of our Live Events - if they decide to Sponsor one of our Live Singer events, then during that 1 hour, the venue will be branded with their logos around the event.  The host will do promotion in chats, and also when we post events the Sponsor's logo will be visible together with relevant Landmarks.

For Clothing designers - We can do a catwalk promotional event - showcasing your designs with Models or even with Live Singers!!  It's unbelievable how much promotion Live Singers can bring to a venue - and I'm a bit scared to mention it now on here, as someone might steal my idea :P

SLE: For entertainment bookings, who can Djs and musicians contact?

Jaun:  They can contact me inworld, or via our Website contact page :)

SLE: Are you hiring for any positions at KoQ Productions? If so, how can people apply?

Jaun: I am looking for hosts (preferably qualified and know how to work with Live Singer Performances), and also looking for an Assistant Manager to be my right hand.  But as we all know Second Life, finding loyal ones who are willing to start and build that trust. to walk a path with you is hard to find.  I'm not looking for someone who works for me...I want someone who works WITH me.  I don't believe in superiors in Second Life, as we all have the same goal when we once logged into Second Life the first time - to get to know people and have fun..and that is important to maintain.

SLE: Is there anything else you would like to share with our readers?

Jaun:  I believe we all are creators in Second Life, whether you build something, take photos, visit and support venues/singers/DJs, shooting a movie, it doesn't matter, we all are creators of our Second Life, and the one needs the other to make your Second Life worthwhile.  It's like a huge circle.  KoQ is not there to be competition, KoQ is there to ADD to Second Life as each place has its own signature.

SPOTLIGHT ON LUXE PARIS LOOK OF THE YEAR 2022 WINNER~ JADE PONO–Ely Catronis Reporting

The Annual LUXE Paris LOOK OF THE YEAR Competition is a glamorous event with the most beautiful models throughout the grid, all competing for the crown and the title to be the Ambassador of the LUXE Paris brand.  It is a tough competition of weekly themed photographs viewed by a panel of judges.

This year’s Ambassador, raised in Japan and living in Hawaii, found Second Life helped her to live out her passion and love for fashion and design. Jade Pono, a beautiful and confident model, found that perseverance and believing in yourself will one day prove that dreams do come true.  Jade will be the unique and outspoken Ambassador that LUXE Paris had looked for in the 2022 LOTY.  Come sit down at the table and meet Jade, this year’s winner.

Interview with Jade Pono

Ely Catronis (EC):  Congratulations to you on winning your title! What were your thoughts that moment when they called your name as the winner?

Jade Pono (JP): Honestly  I don't remember the details.

Throughout the show, the local chat was full of audience chats and announcements from the hosts, plus I had to follow the instructions of the show's group chat director, so

My screen was constantly flooded with chatter.

Then, just before the announcement of the winner, someone in the audience shouted "Nikki You got it! So I honestly thought that Nikkilicious, one of the finalists and a great stylist, had won.

About 10 seconds later, I remembered Mika announced my name, but I was kind of listening to it from a distance as a third party. Under those special and unusual circumstances, I was feeling a bit flustered, my feet weren't on the ground, and I didn't really feel that I was called the winner at all.

I started receiving a lot of IMs right away, and then the director told me to go to the podium by IM. Even then, I still didn't really realize what was going on.

I've been modeling full-time for almost 4 years, so when I get instructions from the director, I follow the cue and can move naturally without thinking. So I automatically walked to the podium. From that moment to the next day, I received several hundred IMs from friends and acquaintances. I was crazy busy just replying to all of those so I really didn't have time to think about what was going on...hahaha...

It's been a week today since the finale of the competition and I still can not believe what happened to me.

EC: Wow.  That is an incredible story. I can imagine the surprise. Where are you from and how did you discover SL?

Jade: I was born and raised in Japan. In my mid-twenties,  I married a local American Hawaiian man who was introduced to me through work in Japan then I moved to Hawaii. My English reading and writing skills were limited to what I learned in compulsory schooling, and my English conversation skills were almost non-existent.  Therefore, almost 100% of the English I use in daily conversation today is something I acquired naturally while living in Hawaii.

One day I found SL when I was reading an article that talked about the experiences of people doing virtual worlds. At first, I was just curious and thought I would quit when I got bored, but I got hooked on the fun of it.

EC: How did you come across your passion for fashion and modeling in SL?

Jade: I get asked this question many times but I actually don't remember much detail about how I was involved in the SL Fashion industry.  Maybe it was my fate... I will share here as much as I can remember.

In the beginning, when I started SL, I just liked to shop and visit different stores and events.

I enjoy dressing up every day and didn't think more than that.  I don't know if I should reveal too much about my real life, but before my late real-life husband died, he had several businesses of different fields going and he was a pioneer in some of them in Hawaii.

One of them was Haute Couture Clothing Business.  All of the clothes were one-of-a-kind and completely handmade, and he was able to run a few solo runway shows, albeit locally in Hawaii.

The store has already closed, but as a remnant of that, before my husband's death, there were always piles of posters for shows and tons of clothing fabrics in the house here and there. I am 5'4" (164cm ) tall in real life, so of course, I can't be a runway model and I can't follow a strict diet program. But I always admired this glamorous world from afar.

Then I happened to start SL, and after a while, I heard that a friend of mine was going to be in a runway show as a model, and I was interested to see there was such a thing in SL, so I went to see it. After that, I enrolled in a modeling academy.  After graduation, I participated in castings for all kinds of modeling agencies, and I was kind of selfless, and before I knew it, four years had passed,  and I belonged to more than 20 agencies.

EC:  Is there a person, style or brand that inspires you the most?

Jade: There is not only one person or style or brand that inspires me so this is difficult to answer.   I share one from real life and some from Secondlife.

In real life, I love Guo Pei very much.  It is a Haute Couture brand that is a mixed style of Asian Romantic Avant-Garde.  I want to make clothes like that in SL one day.

In Second Life, as stylist and model, my greatest respect goes to Falbala Staheli (Falbala Fairey), Wicca Merlin, Hanne Strawberry Keinn, Steele Sinah, World Undercroft,  Carley Benazzi , Jeanie Waydelich, and Shantal Gravois.    I like the way they don't flatter anyone and just go their own way.

When you are a model, you are constantly being told many things by the people around you. Of course, it is important as a professional to listen to the advice to change things, but if you let yourself be swayed by it, you will lose sight of who you are. It is the difference between being one of many models and being unique.  These people don't bend to their own style. No matter what the theme of their styling, it is easy to tell who they are at a glance.

I have a very flexible and gentle personality outside. It's one of my personality and correct but inside of myself is actually a very stubborn and hard head.  But if I show this part too much in public, I will lose the job so I adjust myself when I do modeling.

So these people I mentioned really got my respect. They have confidence in themselves and are not afraid to be different, always speaking to the world about who they are by their styling. I hope one day to become this level.  I know it's a long road to become like this!

Also  Morgan Incognito, Melinda Bayn, Selena Takeda,  Shiloh Mae,  Tymon Alexander have got my respect not only as models but also as human beings. They are all my true SL family.  They support me both in my good times and bad times.  I love them dearly and received HUGE inspiration from them.

There are so many brands that inspire me in Secondlife , it's hard to narrow it down to just one, but of course, Luxe Paris and I love Ridi - Ludi - Fool (Japanese Avant Garde brand) very much.  Zibska, Heth Haute Couture and Eshi Otawara.  About Eshi Otawara, I haven't had the real experience , but I keep hearing about this brand all the time from veteran fellow models so I went to research and found out that it was a pioneer of Avant Garde Fashion of  SL...since then this brand is hooked in my mind.

EC: That is enlightening to learn all the inspiration that gave us your unique style. Now that you are wearing the Look of The Year crown, what are your plans for representing Luxe Paris in Second Life?

Jade: I would like to fulfill my responsibilities as an ambassador for this year.

First of all, I would like to do my job as a poster model for a new product. I would like to resume blogging by the beginning of next month at the latest, and actively introduce Luxe Paris products on social networks. I want to do something that will help sales as much as possible.

Second, I plan to do the Luxe Paris runway shows at multiple agencies.

Third, I plan on attending charity shows or events. I have little experience of this in the past. It's a lot of work so from now on, I should save some energy for this!

And finally, I want to become a designer, though it is still just a dream at this point.  For the Luxe Paris competition challenge, I added sleeves and fringe to create a 1970's hippie style for the 1st challenge, and for the final formal gown, I made a cape with the Luxe Paris logo on it and added it to the styling.  I have a lot of designs swirling around in my head. But I don't have the skills to make them a reality yet, so I'll be practicing making clothes all this year.

EC: We are looking forward to seeing your journey this year. Do you have any advice for other models who might be inspired to try for next year’s Look of the Year of Luxe Paris competition?

Jade: I felt that this Luxe Paris of The Year contest was a tough one. You are not bound for 3 or 4 months like some of the other known competitions, but because of that, each challenge is more intense.

This contest decides the ambassador of the Luxe Paris brand, which is a big difference from other competitions where you are not bound by the brand and can style your own clothes freely.

The only jewelry that could be used this time was from the sponsor, Zuri Jewelry, and they did not encourage hair accessories that would stand out more than the brand's signature pieces.

I thought that hairstyle, makeup, and poses were very important to stand out from the other contestants and to catch the judges' attention.

I feel that it is very difficult to get to the top unless you can attract judges one rank higher than that and make them want to copy your styling.

For example, it is said that it is taboo to raise one's hands and show one's sides in a formal gown on the runway, but if you get too caught up in this rule, all the poses will fall within the safe line, and it will be boring to watch. I recommend incorporating one or two poses that challenge the viewer until the very last minute.

I think we should always evolve and keep changing, and to do that, we should always challenge ourselves.

Also, I highly recommend and suggest for you attend all the seminars during this competition that Ponchituti Boucher from One On One Modeling Agency and Naar Rexen from In-Nova Agency offer to the finalists. These seminars will help you a lot and are worth it for all the models.

EC: As a model, are there other fashion-related events that you see yourself getting involved in?

Jade: Yes.  I am involved as a model and blogger manager for a charity event called I Say No Event Benefit to Rainn (ISNE), which is directly connected to the Real Life Rainn organization. This is the third year.

Another project is The Powerhouse Collective which shines a light on minorities in every sense of the word, models who are talented but not getting out in the public eye for various reasons.  I am a Co-Owner of the agency.  So far we have created several video shows. Next month we will do our first show with an audience.

EC: Besides Modeling, is there anything else that you enjoy?

Jade: Some of my friends are videographers and they sometimes invite me to perform in their dance videos.  We are usually dressed up in mini-skirted kimonos, belly dancers, K-pop, or other costumes (Cosplay type) and dance with a few or a large group of people.

EC:  Thank you for the interview today. It has been wonderful to meet and talk with you. Is there anything else that you would like to share with our readers?

Jade:  First I would like to say my sincere gratitude to the owners of Luxe Paris, Mika Palmyra and Paris Skytower, and also all the judges of the competition and staff.  Because of them I am here and have the opportunity for this interview.

I must confess that I have done a fair amount of work over the past four years.  It was not unusual for me to be working two shows on the same day, rehearsing for the next show, and shooting poster models for designer products.

Before this Luxe Paris contest, I had participated in several other contests, but the results were not so good. More than once, I wondered why I was not recognized for my hard work and why I was not getting any results. So I've been in a ' Zen '  mood these past few years.  Zen mood means I just do my own best and not think about anything other than that.

So I came to the Luxe Paris of The Year 2022 contest this time with the stance of doing my best and not expecting any results.

So I could not believe they chose me as a winner. I can't really feel it.

So, if there are models who are struggling with the lack of results in the contests, I really understand the pain and struggles that they are going through, and I want to encourage them from the bottom of my heart.

It could be tomorrow or it could be a few years from now that you get results. In my case, it took 4 years.

Once you get the results, all the hard work and underachievement until then will be nothing. So please don't give up, be optimistic that you are on the way to a bright future, and just look forward and do your best.

VARDA SEDIA SINGS THE BLUES: JOSH (THOMAS1 BELLIC) REPORTING

I have always been a fan of Blues – (and no, I am not talking about “Blues Clues”, the children’s TV show).  I’m talking about the “tug-at-your-heart” and “make-the-marrow-in-your-bones-tingle” kind of blues.  The stuff that inspires and lifts and depresses all at once! – The kind of Blues found at Fogbound, or Toby’s, or Junkyard or Hotlanta,  THAT kind of blues.  So, when I heard about a drop-dead wonderful Blues Singer, Varda Sedia, I just had to check it out for myself.  I caught up with Varda one night in a small coffee shop in The Quarter. It was late...long past last call.  The place was closed and the regular customers had all left.  It was then that Varda and a couple of the band pulled up some chairs and started to jam. After a couple of hours, they finally wrapped up.  And despite the late hour – it was after 4:00am,Varda agreed to answer a few questions of mine before she headed for home

Josh (Thomas1 Bellic) (JB)    When did you first decide you wanted to sing, and how did you decide to start singing in SL?

Varda Sedi (VS):  I first decided I wanted to start singing when my mama sang when I was a child, and she would tell me stories about how she was asked to travel with the groups in Mexico to sing from town to town for money, but she was too shy. She had a voice of an angel.  I decided to pursue singing when I was in my 20s and then won a contest, and was asked to join my first band and things just started to take off for me.  When my record label owner died and my mom died, I shut down completely and withdrew. I then found SL and admired hearing the singers so much I wondered if I was good enough and decided to give it a try in 2017.

JB:    Who were your musical idols growing up?  Whose styles were you most comfortable with?

VS:  My mom introduced me to many different styles of music as a child, so my tastes were vast. My favorites were The Carpenters, Captain and Tenille, Helen Reddy, Whitney Houston, Barbara Streisand, Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin, David Bowie, Iggy Pop, Phil Collins, Led Zepplin, Metallica, Cindy Lauper, Heart, and Big Band Music.  I felt most comfortable singing Whitney Houston and others like that at the time.

JB:  I heard you also sing on a virtual World other than Second Life?

VS:   I sing on other grids like Open Sim, New Hope Grid, Barefoot Dreamers Grid, and Digiworldz. I love exploring what the virtual world has to offer and always find something fascinating everywhere!

JB:     I understand you are a busy musician in Real Life as well.  Tell us about that?

VS:   I have been working on my main band Rockstead, which is a blues rock band out of Austin, Tx., Catching Comets which is an all-acoustic band same location. Also just got asked to rejoin recently my old band CeciliaX & Hafxex my electro-punk band. I love music like air, it is what I do since I have a mental disability in real life, and am not able to do a 9-5.  Just trying to make my way in this world doing what I know how to do it all.

JB:    You’ve been in SL for over a dozen years now.  What is it that keeps you coming back, night after night, month after month for all that time? What is the secret to longevity in SecondLife?

VS:   I love Second Life because of its diversity.  What I learned after many many years is to keep it professional and you'll be fine.  Keep your friendship true, stay away from toxic people. If someone promises you something and they don't deliver, get out quickly before you get sucked in deeply.  I find a lot of people make a lot of excuses to take your money, and a lot of excuses not to deliver results for them.   Don't get butt hurt over drama.  If they get ugly, that's what the block button is for, just forget and move on. Don't spread rumors, and if rumors are spread about you, who cares?  You know it's not true.  The only thing that matters is what you think about yourself when you look in the mirror.  Are you happy with what you see?  If so? cool if not, work on the changes you need to make for yourself.  Heck, I always need to work on myself. I make mistakes every day. It's just this thing we are that's called human, and we tend to forget that when we are hidden behind an avatar.

JB:    Where would you like to take your career as a BLUES Singer?

VS:  Blues is my passion, I was first introduced to it by my old drummer, and I just fell in love with it. All I want in my life is to be known as a blues singer and I will be happy.  My "ultimate dream" to tour, record again, and sing at concerts and festivals again.

JB:    Any advice you would give to a young musician just starting out in SL?

VS:   Don't be afraid to ask for help.  If you're wanting to get started, ask someone, heck I am always glad to help.  Help is offered free as it should be. I remember when I struggled with singing and I was at my wit's end, Maxx Sabertooth came out and helped me, didn't ask for anything. He just asked me to pay it forward, and that's what I do.

JB:     How would our readers find one of your performances?   Do you have a posted calendar, and are any times listed in SLT or your local time?

Yes, I do, and I'll post it here.  some of it that say USA central time refers to my real-life band situation the others are SL or Pacific times. CALENDAR: https://tinyurl.com/yu7cmyf9  You can find me under events listing by the name Varda.

JB:    Is there anything else you would like to share with our readers?

VS:   If you come out to my show and like what you hear, add me as a friend! I love new friends and I do try to communicate with everyone I can when I am not busy. I usually send out positive messages or a personal invitation to my shows. anyways I look forward to seeing you out there!

So, there you have it, folks.  I thanked her for her time, pocketed my notepad, stuck my pencil behind my ear, and headed out to my now dew-covered Prius….resolved to tell the world about this talented, multifaceted singer/entertainer.  Check out her schedule…catch a show.  And someday when you are wandering around late at night, and you hear the voice of an angle belting out the Blues…you found Varda.  Tell her Hi for me.  And tell ‘em Josh sent ya. You’ll be glad you did.

Be there!  Aloha!

GeekSpeak – Is AGI (Artificial General Intelligence) the last invention we will ever make? Join the discussion Saturday, August 13th at 12pm SLT

Maybe just a few short years from now AGI will be announced.  A superintelligent AI that thinks like a human and can solve problems.  And of course, write new AGI programs. How would such an AI affect humanity?  Would we ever need to invent anything again?  Would we ever again need to think of solutions to problems?  Could we leave everything to the AGI?

Or maybe you think such an AI would be dangerous.  Perhaps we would need one more invention, the way to destroy it.  Should we open that Pandora’s box?

Do we need an AGI?  Can we manage our own future without it?  Would such an AGI necessarily be self-aware?  Or would we be ruled by a mindless program that could not be controlled?

Chance favours the prepared mind so come along to GeekSpeak on Saturday at noon SLT to discuss this upcoming technology shock.  Bring your friends!

IM Vulcan Viper, who teaches a meditation class every Wednesday in the GeekSpeak auditorium, if you have ideas for new subjects.

SPICE..YOU DESERVE A TASTE

Hello! SL Enquirer Readers, I'm back, my name is Prissy Price. I left SL 7 years ago to handle RL. But I missed the imaginative side, the challenging side and the discovery side of SL. So, I came back. For those that know me I do nothing on a small Scale, but all that I do reflects who I am in RL. Since I love to Dance, Drink the Finest Wines imported from Italy, Consume the best Epicurean Delights, and top it all off with a fat Montecristo Platinum Cigar. Baby! how can you deny yourself the taste of oak, cocoa, and roasted espresso beans with a peppery finish from the Dominican Republic? Woodstock Redux at Rockin' Robin's - August 13th-14th

Woodstock was a music festival held in 1969, August 15-19, in upstate New York. It featured 32 bands, including many heavy hitters of the time such as Jimi Hendrix, The Who, Jefferson Airplane, CCR, Janis Joplin and Sly And The Family Stone. For those of you who aren't 74 years old, it was basically what K-Tel had in mind when they made Freedom Rock, man.

Widely considered to be the cultural apex of the 1960s, you old people better have a good story as to why you missed it, like "I was giving birth to a future Yuppie" or "I was in Vietnam, letting the people know my wisdom."  Well over 400,000 people attended, at a time when you could still see first-ballot Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame players like Led Zeppelin or The Doors in a 100-seat nightclub.

If you ever saw a guy playing a really discordant National Anthem on his guitar, it was Woodstock. If you've ever heard the expression, "Don't eat the brown acid," that also came from Woodstock. Snoopy's pal Woodstock is named for the festival, even though he predates it by 2 years. It's what the song "Woodstock" ("By the time we got to Woodstock, we were half a million strong") by CSNY is about.

It was an odd show. Led Zeppelin, Jeff Beck, and the Doors all declined. The Beatles were scheduled to headline but refused when the organizers wouldn't give Yoko Ono's band a slot on the schedule. The Rolling Stones couldn't be bothered. Jimi Hendrix's lead-in was 50s novelty act Sha Na Na. Bob Dylan, who lived in Woodstock, chose not to play. Santana debuted there. Bands such as Quill and the Keef Hartley Band made the big stage, played to a half million people, and then faded back into obscurity. Ariana Grande's parents weren't even born yet. There were two births, three deaths, and over 700 drug overdoses.

It rained half the time, it was very muddy, there were a lot of smelly hippies around, and it is still instantly recognizable 50+ years later. you can say "Altamont" or "Monterey Pop Festival" to someone younger than 70 and they won't know what you are talking about. They will know, instantly, what Woodstock was.

Naturally, someone on SL decided to celebrate the anniversary. Rockin' Robin, an old friend of this column, has decided to commemorate the Hippie Haji  with a weekend-long show at her sim.

The shows run from August 13 through the 14th, Saturday and Sunday, 24 hours a day. They have a full slate of nine bands scheduled, and the dress theme is Counterculture. Look like a hippie. If you're not that old, try to look like young Robert Plant. If you're not THAT old, try to look like you're going to a rave.

You can take some LSD if you wish. I'm not sure if they have LSD on SL. I know they have weed, because I have some, and I know they have crack pipes because I have one. LSD, which is served on a small piece of chemically-soaked paper, would be hard to translate into the virtual world.

I took LSD when I was in high school. I just laughed for 9 hours and was endlessly fascinated by things like colorful posters and- for a strange half hour- a rubber duck. If I took it in a strange place with a half million people running around, I'd either be 1) dead or 2) still wandering around upstate New York, trying to find some cookies.

In case your 1960s knowledge is a bit jumbled, the National Guard won't murder you here. That was Kent State, a year later.

Be sure to pop in....

The Basilica@ Shamus bay has tons to offer!

Brief History: (Opened Officially August 6th, 2022)

**More Exhaustive History: In the Golden age of Piracy, one Pirate stood out among the many. chased relentlessly by the Spanish and English navies, and even occasionally by the new American Colonial Navy, Being chased for weeks, Captain Shamus H. Wrigglesworth took refuge in a small uncharted bay. Scouring the island, all he and his crew found was an old monastery and mission. Neither were occupied so, as pirates will, they made it their own. Capt. Shamus shamelessly named the area Shamus Bay and conducted many years of raids and very “piratey” things from his bay. Always able to get away and hide, Capt. Shamus made quite a comfortable living. As will happen, the island grew in inhabitants and reluctantly grew and changed with the times. When Capt. Shamus died (or has he?), and his family and remaining crew buried all of the treasure he had accumulated somewhere on the island. Generations passed and one day when rummaging through the remains of the old Mission, a distant relative of Capt. Shamus H Wrigglesworth, his Great, Great, Great, Great, Great, Grandson, Shamus W. Wrigglesworth, discovered the entire fortune and treasure that had been carefully hidden so many years before. Being a partier and having no sense of how to save money, Shamus immediately commissioned builders to build the largest nightclub anyone has ever seen.

Dominating the landscape atop the highest point on the island, the Basilica Dance Club and Live Venue were born! It’s rumored that Shamus has hidden away the rest of the loot he found, but looking around the island, you can see his frivolous spending and it makes you wonder if he is rich or flat broke! Either way, Shamus Bay thrives on and The Basilica is the hottest nightclub destination around! Welcome to Shamus Bay **Shamus Bay Rental Info: There are several rentals available here in the Bay.
