* STUDIO 777 JOINS THE EXCLUSIVE PI GAMES TOURNAMENT SYSTEM
* STUDIO 777 ADDS HOMESTEAD LAND FOR JOBSTAR, ADS-O-MATIC & STUDIO 777 MALL

NEW YORK AND SECOND LIFE -- October 27, 2014 — STUDIO 777™ (CAPEX: FUN), the #1 Skill Gaming Nightclub, Mall and Resort in the Second Life® virtual world since 2009, today announced that Linden Lab®, a division of Linden Research, Inc., has approved STUDIO 777 as an official Second Life Skill Gaming Program Operator ("SLSGO") and Sol Hermosa is an official Skill Gaming Region ("SGR"). In addition, the Company has joined the new Pi Games Tournament System and has added a Homestead simulator called STUDIO 777 which will be the home base for JOBSTAR Job Center, Ads-O-Matic Advertising and the STUDIO 777 Mall.

Linden Lab affirmed on October 27, 2014: "Congratulations! We are pleased to inform you that your application to become an Operator through the Second Life Skill Gaming Program has been approved."

“This is an incredibly exciting time for STUDIO 777,” Luke Slingshot, CEO of STUDIO 777, commented. "We're grateful to Linden Lab for today's approval and continuing help and support, and to Stevan Lieberman, our Players, Team, Shareholders, Partners and Friends. In the four months since our IPO, in addition to expansion, the acquisition of Ads-O-Matic and our conversion to a Skill Gaming Region and Operator approval, we've also paid L$1,715,185 in dividends to our Shareholders. The Skill Gaming industry is one of the internet's fastest growing segments and with this announcement, STUDIO 777 continues forward as a leader in this dynamic area."

The U.S. Skill Based Gaming industry saw revenue of $2.5 billion in 2013 alone, and is projected to surpass $9.0 Billion in annual revenue by 2017, according to a national consumer study conducted by Frank N. Magid Associates. Skill Based Gaming is becoming so common and popular that Venture Capital firms are buying in: http://finance.yahoo.com/news/mgt-announces-exclusive-launch-skill-184500674.html

STUDIO 777 created an unprecedented partnership to create and submit Reasoned Legal Opinions ("RLOs") to Linden Lab. Included in the partnership are Raziel Foggarty, Creator of 4Play, Wizard, Stomp The Fox and R&A Core products http://www.racorescripts.com/ , Aargle Zymurgy, legendary Creator of Zyngo and scores of games http://www.azsgames.com/ and Ocean View Gamers https://www.facebook.com/OceanViewGamers . Together, with their attorney, Stevan Lieberman of Greenberg and Lieberman (www.aplegal.com , http://www.slcapex.com/forums/topic/FUN/9694 ), RLOs have been created and submitted for 10 sets of Second Life's most popular games.

In addition, STUDIO 777 is honored to announce it was the first partner accepted into the Pi Games Tournament System. Pi Games, known for many of the most popular games in Second Life, unveiled an unparalleled system including Reel Wild Progressive Tournament, Bugz Progressive Tournament, Pot-o-Gold Tournament, Fire Ball Tournament, Devil Hunt Tournament, Enchanted Tournament, Party Crasher Tournament, Doggie Style Tournament, Royal Gems Tournament and Ice Cream Tournament. The Tournament System will only be available on 10 regions in Second Life.

Pi Games CEO FoxyFurman Kumaki commented, "STUDIO 777 has been a great partner since nearly the inception of Pi Games in Second Life, and as we were developing the Pi Games Tournament System, Luke and his team were enthusiastic and professional about supporting and joining the project. We're delighted to have STUDIO 777 join us as we develop new games and continue offering some of the most successful games on the grid."

"We deeply respect and admire Fox and Pi Games, and congratulate Pi Games on Linden Lab's approval of the Tournament System," said KariAnne Starsmith, President of STUDIO 777. "Pi Games has created some of Second Life's most fun and popular Skill Games, and we're honored to be part of this historic system. To celebrate, we've donated to Fox Woods Animal Rescue, Inc http://foxwoodrehab.typepad.com and encourage everyone to support this great charity."

Several of STUDIO 777's initiatives, including JOBSTAR Job Center, the STUDIO 777 Mall, and ADS-O-MATIC http://www.ads-o-matic.com will soon move to their new homes on the new STUDIO 777 Homestead Sim. The Homestead, which will be STUDIO 777's new Landing Point, is not a Skill Gaming Region, thereby making the areas available to non payment verified avatars. Information and frequently asked questions about Skill Gaming Regions are at http://studio777s.com/skill-gaming-faq/

As previously noted by Linden Lab, “Second Life is the most successful user-created virtual world ever,” said Ebbe Altberg, Linden Lab CEO. “Eleven years after first opening, it continues to thrive with more than a petabyte of 3D content created by users, a strong economy of user-to-user transactions in which tens of millions of dollars are paid out to creators every year, and an active community that spans the globe. There is a massive opportunity ahead to carry on the spirit of Second Life while leveraging the significant technological advancements that have occurred since its creation, and no company is better positioned to create this than we are.”

The Industrial Music in Second Life- Piers Diesel Reporting...

Industrial music is an abrasive mix of rock and electronic sound.  It became popular in the 70’s with an experimental genre influenced by provocative and transgressive themes. Indie music as it is nicknamed is an underground movement found in Second Life clubs. If you’re not sure where to go in Second Life to listen then here is a list of some clubs which I feel you will enjoy not only for the music but also for the atmosphere too.

Twisted Dreams

Twisted Dreams is a club for all you twisted souls out there in SL. Featuring some of the best DJ's in SL, playing dubstep, industrial, EBM, Electro Swing.....and anything else the crowd wants to hear. They are all about the music and fun.  They do not play only industrial music so if you are looking for a club that plays just indie then maybe this isn’t the right club for you, however, if you’re looking for a club that spins industrial and other tunes then TP down and hang out.

alt7
At ALT7 you will find a wide variety of indie music as well as alternative tunes spun by DJs across the world. Nice club. It is small yet inviting.

Unknown Pleasures: Transmission Club
Here you will find indie to alternative music as well as other genre such as new wave and punk or as they call it post punk.  It is an underground effect club with a twist.

The Velvet
The Velvet has been rocking the grid with alternative and eclectic DJs since 2006. It is also home to some of the most passionate Djs in Second Life. They take pride in sharing their music collection and take music tunes seriously. The vibe here is always fun and inviting.
http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Velvet/188/188/24

Attic
The Attic is well known for being a friendly entertainment spot on the grid. Regular scheduled DJs keep the stream hot with great indie/alternative style tunes. The club has plenty of activity with cool toys laying around for guests to enjoy, such as scooters wagons and even shopping carts.

The indie scene in Second Life has such a large number of members who love and appreciate industrial music. This genre has evolved throughout the years and as the demand gets bigger the more clubs will open.

Interview with a Vampire Gone Wrong- Lanai Jarrico Reporting…

      First published October 14, 2013.

With Halloween creeping up on us, I thought I would pound the SL pixel pavement in search of a friendly vampire that wouldn’t mind sitting down with me for an interview. Without fearing I would be bitten and turned into a pale night walking blood junkie, I searched high and low for this elusive fanged creature with baseball bat in hand for protection. As I came upon Harry the Vampire, I must have startled him while he was digging though a dumpster because he let out the most girlish scream I have ever heard...

At first it appeared he was out for blood until he revealed an unusual fear of it, and the dark.  I’ve seen a lot of cruel and unusual behavior in Second Life but who on Linden’s laggy grid would think of biting this kitten of a man and leaving him to deal with such a torturous existence.

I needed to know more, so I took my opportunity before his candle expired.

Second Lifers Open Their Skeleton Closets for a Quick Peek - LadyLoveDr Reporting

Everyone has skeletons in their closets.  The real question is, would you let a stranger take a peek in yours?  I polled 20 Second Life citizens and asked them all the same question, "What secrets are the skeletons in your closet hiding?"  The results were both unbelievable and surprising.  From this project, I noticed that women were more forthcoming with telling a stranger their deepest, darkest secret than men.  Out of everyone polled, there were 5 citizens who not only had skeletons in their closets, these skeletons were dancing!  Here are the five most intense and iniquitous skeletons, names have been concealed to protect their identities.

Female nurse:  The major secret that I hide, is that I'm a nymphomaniac and I ended up in the middle of a 30 man gang-bang at Eroticon a few years ago.

LadyLoveDr:  Were you left with any gifts that keep on giving?

Female nurse:  Fortunately not!  All of it was protected and safe!

Female bartender:  I've done hard time for possession of narcotics with intent to sell.  It actually wasn't mine, it was just in my car and my passenger refused to admit it was his.

LadyLoveDr:  How long were you locked up?

Female bartender:  I was sentenced to three and a half years but ended up only doing a little under 2 years total.

Male librarian:  If you're talking real life, I'd have to say it's that I weigh over 350 pounds.  If your referring to second life, it would be that I had drunk sex with the stripper at my bachelor party.

LadyLoveDr:  Does your SL wife know about the drunk sex?

Male librarian:  She doesn't get on SL anymore so I guess you can say i'm a widower.  But I don't think she suspected anything.  Since we're on the subject, are you single  and looking?

LadyLoveDr:  Sorry to disappoint you, my SL avatar is A-sexual.

Male librarian:  I have no idea what that means.

LadyLoveDr:  Basically it means I don't attach myself to anyone else.  I'm strictly solo.

Female dog groomer:  I had sex with my boss for a raise in pay.  It was the biggest mistake of my life.

LadyLoveDr:  How much of a raise did you get?

Female dog groomer:  The deal was he would make it worth my while.  As it turned out, he wanted to get more of it than I did.  He wanted to give me 5 cents in raise every time I slept with him.

LadyLoveDr:  What was the final result?

Female dog groomer:  I got a better paying job and didn't have to sleep with anyone to advance my career.

Male sous chef:  I lied on my job application about graduating from culinary school. Technically, I don't even have my high school diploma.

LadyLoveDr:  Where did you learn to cook?

Male sous chef:  I watched the cooking network like twenty-four seven.  I learned a bunch of great stuff on there!

LadyLoveDr:  Did they ever find out you lied?

Male sous chef:  No, I know so much about cooking, they never even question anything!

Machinima in Second Life - Piers Diesel Reporting

Machinima is digital video production in a virtual world or video game environment. You can find these types of productions featured on Youtube or Vimeo. The creativity is endless and provides a glimpse into the virtual world and the many things it has to offer.

In Second Life, the world of Machinima is still going strong and flourishing. It is always interesting to see what new video have been created by well know or new and upcoming creators and what inspires their work.

Rysan Fall

Rysan Fall is one of the first Machinima Artists in Second Life.  His talents include voice over work, virtual wedding videos, tutorials and award winning short film projects such as The Invisible City, about the homeless.   His work provokes emotion and provides a very creative and genuine look into what Machinima really is. Rysan is also The SL Enquirer official commercial producer.

Piers: Rysan, How long have you been creating Machinima?

Rysan: I have to explain that I taught myself most of everything I know about editing video. I found a unique way to help myself learn the principals of filming and editing video.  There's an online community called "second life" where people live out certain aspects of their lives in a virtual world.  Second life has its own monetary system, using a currency called "lindens" which could be transferred over to actual USD dollars. People have businesses, have relationships and make money in this virtual world.
The word “Machinima” or “Machine Cinema” was created to name videos or films created in a virtual environment.

This initially was intended to be practice for real life film making. When I started I had no idea there was a whole genre of film making dedicated to filming in a virtual environment. My videos became popular in the machinima community, which really was a surprise to me. I decided to offer my skills to business, creating commercials and making keepsake (wedding) videos for the people in this virtual environment.  My desire to make more detailed machinima films grew, and real life film making kind of took a back seat. But I wanted to take what I’ve learned and put it to real life film.

Piers: What inspires your work and how has it enriched your life?

Rysan:  Machinima has been very good to me, and I am very grateful for everything it’s given me. I’ve been interviewed countless times, I’ve spoke at many lectures, events and universities. I’ve had the opportunity to work for Tufts University, University of Florida, and the University of Central Missouri. I’ve even been honored with filming the first Virtual College Graduation ceremony for Bryant Stratton College in Second Life featured on FOX National News. One thing I was really excited about, I was contacted by U2's Principle Management to inform me that my U2inSL video was selected to be played on the big screen at the Glastonbury Festival in the U.K. as the REAL U2 perform their song, "Even Better Than the Real Thing".  My visuals went through the approval processes from Linden Labs to me and finally approved by U2's Principle Management. That was really exciting for me. I’ve been interviewed for The Book “Machinima: The Art and Practice of Virtual Filmmaking.  A few of my videos was seen by a company called How2Connect.com, which specializes in providing online therapy and EAP solutions for subscribers. They were in the process of creating their own virtual world at the time, and wanted someone to make their machinima for them. They flew me to California for a week and asked me to become a part of their team, and I accepted. After 4 years I, now edit all of their “Real Life” department  video. They are now called 1virtualhealth.com

Along with all of this, I do voice over work also. I have also done some radio. I used to have a weekly hip hop news segment on an underground hip hop show called “The Fireset” on 90.7 WTCC. I am now currently doing VO work for CPTV sports.  I’ve just stated working in the creative services dept. for FOX News in CT.

This video is very cleverly done with attention to detail. It provokes real emotion and creates a bridge between reality and virtual expression. Rysan has shown that his work is his passion.

Bryn Oh

Bryn work was has always intrigued me. Bryn attention to detail is second to none and the work that they put into each video is not only inspiring but also captivates the audience to wont to watch more of their work.
Piers: Bryn, How long have you been creating Machinima?

Bryn: I have been working in Machinima for 6 years now

Piers: What inspires your work and how has it enriched your life?

Bryn:  I used to have them on a site called Blip but then they deleted my account for some reason, but many are still on YouTube.  https://www.youtube.com/user/BrynOhMy work is a form of diary where I take elements within my life and tell them as loose narratives, sometimes as poetry.  It is cathartic I think, simply a way to express honest feelings anonymously in a virtual space which would, perhaps, be hurtful to say to family and friends otherwise.  It enriches my life in that I am able to be creative as well as be able to express deeply felt emotions which may not come out as readily in other mediums.  For me it is also rewarding to know that there are those who associate on some level to those same feelings I express in my work.  Sometimes you release things to the void of the internet and much like a message in a bottle it simply disappears out to sea, other times a bottle returns and it is that moment which I cherish.

Not the newest of work by Bryn but the cinematography is perfect to me. Short yet excellently executed.

Piers: jjccccc, How long have you been creating Machinima?

jjccccc: I have been making them for years since 2006 so

Piers: What inspires your work and how has it enriched your life?

jjccccc: My inspiration comes from the Love  of Art. I make videos to try stuff out they may look crappy and badly arranged but each one is a learning curve of different ideas, So far I don’t think I’ve made a really descent video but I continue to try

Sophia Yates
Sophia Yates Machinima Film Productions is a Virtual Production company she has ha created within the 3D Virtual World of Second Life. This is a new channel as Sophia is not able to log into her original account. She is a business woman also she is owner of  FilmStrip,Profile Magazine Today, Photographer and Publisher, so a lady of many talents.

Machinima is an art form and an outlet for expression.  It takes creativity, time and passion to produce a film that holds the attention of an audience. There is so much more put into it then pressing record and capturing whatever appears before the lens.
Planning begins with creating a storyline, script, scouting for actors, environments and paying attention to details such as lighting, audio, transitions and timing. These are just a few of the things that Machinima producers must take into consideration. So the next time you watch a Machinima video that might only be 4 minutes long, realize that it may have taken them weeks or even months to create.
These are just a few of the talented Machinima artists you will find across the grid. There are others which you may feel have been missed out in this feature. If you know a Machimina artist that should be recognized by the SL Enquirer, share their information below in the comment box with a link to their work!
