The Return of Terry's Bloch Party!- September 25th

Join us on Saturday, September 25th beginning at 12-noon SLT for the long-anticipated return of the Terry's Bloch Party! FIVE fun-filled hours of live music from some of the hottest entertainers on the grid!

Kicking things off at noon in our lovely rose ballroom venue, get ready for another magnificent performance from Skye Galaxy!  Taking a variety of different songs and artists, Skye translates each tune and places them gently beside a soothing, sensual line of vocal and simplistic piano arrangements. Nineteen years ago, he was brought into this world by his mother, of whom resided in Smolensk (Смоленск), Russia, and a father who moved to the States from Berlin. From the first moments of which he could mutter a sound, singing had become nothing short of a passion.

His influences include the vocals and production talents of Imogen Heap, the emotion often found in the likes of Coldplay, Keane, and Death Cab for Cutie, and in the other artists that continue to fill his favorites list; Above & Beyond, Frou Frou, Rufus Wainwright, Kate Havnevik, Yann Tiersen, and many more.

Skye is a musician, performer, and vocalist professionally in his first life, but likes to keep his two lives well apart. He joined Second Life in order to pursue the feeling of growth in his abilities, once more, and those numerous chains of events leading to one better opportunity to the next until you are stumbling for the top.

Coming up at 1pm SLT, Terry's Bloch Party continues with a special live performance from Mimi Carpenter!! Known for her distinctively gentle, French lilt, Mimi's talent as a self-taught musician has graced the Second Life music scene for a decade.

As Mimi's presence and talent grew, so too did her repertoire of covers and originals. Mimi’s extensive song list doesn't just highlight the eclectic tastes and influences upon her development as an artist, which includes rock, indie, and pop. The inclusion of English, French, and German language songs also reflects her travels and experiences living throughout Europe and abroad.

Following Mimi at 2pm SLT, Terry's Bloch Party continues with another spectacular performance from the lovely Semina! Born and raised on the south coast of Sweden, she is a talented singer-songwriter who has traveled the world playing her music at clubs, festivals, living rooms, and theaters around Scandinavia, Europe, UK, and the USA.

With a playful way of mixing genres and a voice that could mend a broken heart, SEMINA now comes to entertain in Second Life with covers from well-known artists.

Up next at 3pm SLT,  get ready for more of Terry's Bloch Party as we welcome spiritLed back for a special LIVE performance on our ballroom stage! spiritLed is not new to SL but relatively new to performing live music around the grid. Coming to you from the East Coast, spiritLed has been playing the guitar since his 20's and is now learning and enjoying playing the keyboard.

You will immediately fall in love with spiritLed's covers of songs from artists like Coldplay, Harry Styles, Train, The Beatles, and more. Join us and hear why he is beloved by fellow musicians around the grid.

Last but certainly not least, at 4pm SLT Terry's is proud to welcome back THE FUNKALICIOUS ONE, Dexter Moore, as he performs LIVE to help us close out the Bloch Party!! He is a Troubadour kind of guy who plays nylon string acoustic guitar like no one else.

Dexter weaves romantic lyrics and melodies around his guitar grooves with a cool mix of soul, funk, Latin, and jazz.

Come support live music with friends, laughter, and a whole lot of fun...ONLY at Terry's Place!!!

MAVERICKS MC: CREATING PLACES AND THINGS TO DO & MEETING NEW FRIENDS

Many people believe an SL Motorcycle Club is of the 1% variety with wannabe tough guys (1% in rl means any member(s) who have a criminal record even if it is a misdemeanor). In SL, as in real life, there are Riding Clubs and MCs (Motorcycle Clubs) who enjoy cycle ride-outs (going together on long rides on more than 90 tracks that can go up to 4k m). More important, like a social club, members feel connected, run events and charities, host dance parties, celebrate life just like anyone else does in SL. Like any group in SL, there are good ones and there are bad (filled with drama) clubs.

Anyone wishing to understand and try an MC way of life has to do their due diligence and research, meet & greet, and get to know members before deciding if "ride outs" and "fellowship" mean what they hope it means. There are many clubs with retired RL bikers. However, there are many RL social riders who retired from business, universities, the military, and many other venerable professions who choose to connect with people who are like-minded. For example, an MC Mission: Ride outs Together; Motto: Respect, Diversity, Inclusiveness, Fellowship, Freedom & Fun.

I would gather that since most sex clubs are full most of the time (and not by many MC members), everyone might want to step back and look a little deeper at what MC's actually represent (family, friends, connection, honesty, and a lot of fun).

If anyone has questions, feel free to contact Angelor Galanter or Karlee Heartsong.

GeekSpeak – Is there New Hope for our Climate? Join the discussion Sept. 18th at 12pm SLT

Last month a report from a thinktank called RethinkX suggested that certain disruptive technologies will mean that we produce less carbon without even meaning to.  Perhaps these technologies mean that we will not destroy our planet after all.

Let’s talk about these disruptive technologies.  What are they and why are they so disruptive?

Let’s discuss the speed with which the world changes when disruption hits.  Horses were obsolete 15 years after the first car.  Radio and TV were adopted even more quickly.  Future disruptions could move at light speed.  If you ever wonder why the world changes so fast, hold your hat for the next 15 years.

Come and discuss  the ways we do things now before they are gone forever.  Bring your friends and a CD, if you can remember what that was.

IM Vulcan Viper, who teaches a meditation class every Wednesday at 1pm SLT in the GeekSpeak auditorium, if you have ideas for new subjects.

Grand Opening of Skeleton House on Saturday September 18th, 2021

LUXE Paris LOOK of the YEAR 1st Runner-up BECKY KENAAN United States

MOST PERSEVERING COMPETITOR!

LOOK of the YEAR finalist in 2012, 2018 and 2020, Becky Kenaan was in her fourth final this year when she finally reached the position of first runner-up, setting a record for perseverance in the same breath.

``Perseverance has been something ingrained in me by my parents since I was a small child, explains Becky. They have taught me to reach for the highest goals in my life, and never regret or be afraid to fail or fall short - for it builds upon your character and inner
strength. Who knows... maybe I'll throw in my hat in the ring again next year!``

What motivates her? Taking up life's challenges.

``Challenges make you dig deep into yourself, `` she says. ``Every challenge that comes our way takes us off the beaten track in many ways. The challenges of the LUXE Paris LOOK of the YEAR competition allowed me to expand my skills and knowledge base in fashion exponentially.``
``
PASSIONATE ABOUT BIOPHILIA

No wonder Becky fell in love with the colors and fashion of Second Life, she is an architect and colorist in real life and has a passion for biophilic design. This new
path of architecture builds on the fundamental love of humans for what is alive
and promotes the use of colors and shapes of nature, light, and water, to create an
environment that makes human beings feel good.

``I am specialized in designing medical facilities and in the health care profession,
color plays an especially important biophilic role for both emotional and physical
well-being``, explains Becky.

``I find fashion and architecture to be very closely linked. In both cases, the form
must marry the function but also deploy a fluidity, right proportions, a history and
a personal expression.

I like to apply biophilia to both architecture and fashion. It is the very essence of our
humanity and binds us to all other living species.``

What does fashion mean to you?

``It is, sometimes, my own form of escapism`` confides Becky. `` It allows me to
express my mood with conviction, to articulate my self-expression where words
simply cannot. It often serves as an emotional boost that can make a dull day seem
brighter, and it also serves as a reminder that on even bad days, when nothing is
going as I had planned, I’m armed. As Diana Vreeland once said, “Fashion must be
the most intoxicating release from the banality of the world.

MAKE HATRED AND BIGOTRY GO AWAY

This is what Becky would change in the real world if she had a magic wand.

``I am concerned about where our world is headed these days,`` Becky continues.
``However, as an optimist, I believe that as the world evolves, so does humanity and
that there is hope that our society will make the necessary corrections to improve the
human condition for us all.``

What was your first thought when it was announced that you were the first runner-up?

``WOW!  LOL...  I was certainly thrilled to reach this plateau in my modeling career!
Of course, you always strive and hope to win the whole “kit and kaboodle... But the
judging was very fair… and for me, the outcome served as an indicator as to where
I ranked in this sensational group of talented women. I am honoured.``

Your best moment in this competition?

``I enjoyed the challenge “Reveal the LUXE Paris star in you'' hands down! I chose to
embody Audrey Hepburn for her many contributions to French haute couture. Not only
did I admire her grace, beauty and intelligence, but I also admired her belief in helping
others less fortunate than her.``

The worst moment?

``When my brother-in-law had passed away as a result of the COVID-19 virus. This
came during my preparation for the finale.  It has devastated our family.``

PARADISE IN PIXELS: MOUNT FUJI VILLAGE – JOSH (THOMAS1 BELLIC) REPORTING

For those few of you who have not been to see the Grand Canyon, Second Life, you are truly missing out on one of the Seven Wonders of The Virtual World.  Built by Lis Dubrovna, she has pioneered all kinds of new techniques in Virtual World Construction. While creating the Grand Canyon, with its spectacular vistas and unending beauty, she came up with a unique solution to the question of what to do with all the pixels she scooped out to make the canyons.  Rather than simply allow them to default back to Linden Labs, she repurposed all those pixels and built an adjoining wonder:  Mount Everest.

Well, Folks, she’s done it again.  With the help of her partner and Business Manager, Stephen, she has created yet ANOTHER wonder of the virtual world: Mount Fuji Village.

I saw the notice, announcing the Grand Opening of Mt Fuji Village, and thought I would go check it out.

While there, I came upon Lis and Stephen, finishing up a row of red ceramic roofing shingles on one of the buildings.  They paused from their labors long enough to answer a few questions for you, the SL Enquirer Reader.

Josh (Thonmas1 Bellic) (JB):  What an amazing build.  Where do you get the inspiration for a Mount Fuji Village?

Lisisme Dubrovna (LD): I had already done a Tibetan village at my Mt. Everest sim so when my builder friend Stephi (StephiDreamEvermore Doune) gave me some incredibly well made and authentic new parts, I realized the potential for building a much larger Japanese themed village at Grand Canyon South where I had plenty of available prims.

JB:  This is a highly detailed build, with literally dozens of huts, rooms, common areas, activities, etc.  It must have taken months to pull it all together.  How much time did you actually spend on this project?

LD:  As all builders in SL know, it is a passion to build, and when you have been building for a while, you visualize the dream, and then building it becomes rather straightforward. Stephen Fafler and I spent 3 days getting the core of the village built, although we still have a few areas and buildings to tweak. The overall vision of this village will obviously continue to evolve as we add more activities and structures to this sim. The vision includes having the village at the center and then continuing to expand with residential areas, and other iconic Japanese structures and landmarks.

JB:  How big a crew did you have helping you?

LD:  As the creator of multiple sims, like the Grand Canyon, Mt Everest, and Crater Lake, to name a few, I have learned that when it comes to terraforming and building, having too many cooks in the kitchen, so to speak, doesn’t always speed up the project. For the Mount Fuji Village, there were only three (3) people involved.  My friend Stephi (StephiDreamEvermore Doune) gave me some wonderfully constructed structures, and I did most of the positioning and layout with Stephen Fafler adding a lot of the detail work.  More than the size of the team, it really comes down to experience.  Working with people like Stephen and Stephi, is always a lot of fun. Our skill level and experience wonderfully complement each other.

JB: From a shrine/Temple to the Spirits, to a massage parlor/Temple to the Body, this place has it all.   Are you finished building here?  Or are there still ideas you want to develop further?

LD:  We are so passionately driven to help make incredible experiences and activities for SL residents, that I am happy to say that no, we are probably never going to stop building and improving this area. We constantly think of new ideas and get some wonderful ideas and feedback from our visitors and friends. We are considering things like a Shibari room - not in the BDSM style - we want it to be a learning place for the art of Shibari. Perhaps a Sumo wrestling area, Japanese tea ceremonies, and themed residential areas, just to mention a few.

JB:  I understand you even have residences for rent?  What are those like and what is included there?

LD:  We will be building a few themed residential areas on the outside of the Mount Fuji village. The residences will be furnished with top-of-the-line furniture and accessories and they will be reasonably priced.

JB:  Tell me about some of your other favorite areas in the Village.

LD:  I love the Japanese furnished home and the veggie market and the seating area there. I  love the balloon tour Stephen created and also the beauty parlor spa. Actually, I love all of it and I envision people using the different areas and having a great time.

Stephen Fafler (SF):  The temple and meditation areas are serene and the waterfall areas are wonderful to see and hear. I really enjoy the interactive garden near the market. It’s a lot of fun.

JB:  Have you given thought to any kinds of Special Events to attract visitors?  What might they be?

LD:  We are planning a Scavenger Hunt with prizes. We will also have a Pogo Stick Race on a course around the village with a 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize in cash. We have also considered Karaoke contests and Japanese costume competitions. Residents can join the Grand Canyon Group to get announcements about new attractions and activities.

JB:  Mount Everest, and now Mount Fuji?  What’s next?  Maybe a Mount Vesuvius and Pompeii?  Or perhaps a Mount Kilimanjaro and Serengeti Plains theme?

LD:  We would love to continue to realize our dreams in so many ways here in SL, but like all things, we want to focus on things that residents will really enjoy, visit and recommend to others. Building in SL is living art to us, and we hope to find sponsors to help us expand the art of the possible well into the future.

JB:  Is there anything else you would care to share with our readers?

LD: We really want to let residents know that the Mt Fuji Village is free and built for their enjoyment and entertainment. Just like all of our other sims, we do hope for voluntary donations so that we can continue to enhance the experiences for all SL residents that visit.

So, there you have it, folks.  Some places are just too lovely to describe and you really need to see it for yourself.  Go by yourself or better yet, take a friend and explore together the wonders of Mount Fuji Village.

Be there.  Aloha!

JB

SPOTLIGHT ON THE FOX CLUB- A premier VIP Club for all adults!

The Fox Club is a unique venue with boasts the main club, ballroom, neon bar and features Tabby’s Club with a collection of strippers and escorts ready to satisfy your every desire. If people-watching is more your thing, you are welcome to kick back and observe the crowd at weekly themed events. There is plenty to do and see with live DJs and singers gladly taking your requests and dedications.

SLE caught up with The Fox Club Owner for more information about this premier VIP club.

Interview with Neternal

SLE: Where are you from and how did you discover Second Life?

Neternal: I am from the UK and I discovered Second Life in the bottom of a box of Cocoa Krispies, while I was looking for a free gift.

SLE: Interesting. Not sure what to say to that but OK! Would you say Second Life is an extension of your real life or just a game?

Neternal: Second Life is an immersive experience, it's both a game and an extension of my real life. There are people from my real life that I have brought into Second Life, as well.

SLE: Oh very cool.  Congratulations on your grand opening of The Fox Club! Can you tell us about The Fox Club and your team?

Neternal: The Fox Club is an upscale, very adult venue with a lot to offer. We have a beautifully peaceful landscaped beach for folks to enjoy and relax on at the ground level. In our sky, we have a stunning mystical wintry ballroom for those romantic moments you want to just lose yourself in another's arms. There is the new Neon Bar room for those with a colorful flair for fun. Our main dance club area features dance platforms, poles. a bar to sit - if people-watching is more your thing! Fridays through Mondays have live DJs performing from 12 pm - 6 pm SLT. Thursdays through Saturday, after 6 pm, Tabby's After Dark takes over the main club from 6 pm - ? depending on how festive the crowd is. And every day, 24/7 Tabby's upscale strip club is open for your pleasure! And there is adult furniture throughout the sim for your kinks and happiness!

My team in a word is magnificent. My General Manager, Tabitha Mercury has really come in pumped up and ready to take Fox Club to the next level with me. We really are on the same page, it's almost scary. My Assistant Manager, DonovanQuinn, comes with vast management experience and was Tabby's General Manager for over the past year. They are reliable and dependable. They work closely together with me to make Fox Club the finest adult establishment on the grid.

SLE: You have a lot going on at The Fox Club and it sounds like you have a tight team. That’s always a good thing. This is a very adult establishment. What type of services do you offer?

Neternal: Bl**jobs and steak sandwiches. But on a serious note, we have a beach, a stunning mystical ballroom, a modern main dance club with cells, fun and new Neon Bar, and an upscale strip club, Tabby's on-site. We have adult furniture throughout for everyone to enjoy and the craziest wild parties and fun themes on the grid!

SLE: Wow! Whatever happened to chicken wings being a thing at the strip club? Lol Anyway.  With all the club venues in Second Life, what made you decide to open one, and what will be different from the others that will attract your clientele?

Neternal: Several years ago, I owned Equine Island Vanity Fair Horseshow and had won an Avi Choice Award after entering the first time at the last one they held. After some time, I decided that maybe I would try my hand at a club owner, as I am a bit of a party person and I could see if I could be a success in that as well.

SLE: Congrats on that prestigious award! We wish you great success in your new venture. With owning an adult club it comes with some responsibilities. What types of rules do you enforce at The Fox Club to keep youngins out of the club and your dancers and escorts safe?

Neternal: The Fox Club is on Adult land, so we do not allow persons less than adult age on our sim. We ban child avatars on the spot and report those who are suspected to be minors to LL.

SLE: You have DJs and you state Live Music also. Have you booked any live music and if so tell the readers of the musicians you have coming to your venue soon?

Neternal: We have had Mavenn perform here twice already, and she will be coming back again in the future. Right now, we are in talks with several performers to try to provide a variety of live music to feature as well on a regular basis. We will keep you posted! We currently are working on booking a performer for our October 30th Fall Formal dance in our Mystic Ballroom.

SLE: You say that you have themed events. What kinds of themes do you cover or do they change weekly?

Neternal: We have a changing weekly theme on Saturdays for Fox Club, last month they are Neon Night, which just passed, Schoolgirls Saturday Detention, Star Wars, and Luxurious Lingerie Ladies Night. Tabby's After Dark features themes on Fridays. Fetish Friday that just passed, was a double birthday party as well. We also have a Beach Party on our beach, One Item party, Angels & Demons and more coming up.

SLE: Are you currently hiring? If so, what positions do you have available? And if so, who shall they contact to give you their resume?

Neternal: We are always hiring. We need DJs and Hosts for Fox Club and Tabby's is always hiring dancers and escorts as well. Anyone who would like to work for Fox Club can contact:

Hosts/DJs: DonovanQuinn Resident or Tabitha.Mercury

Dancers/Escorts: Angelixa69 Resident or Tabitha.Mercury
