Stacey At The Bat
A lot of people make an active effort to draw a solid line between real life and Second Life, especially in some of the sims I hang around in. That said, a lot of what goes on in SL is driven by RL. I live in Massachusetts RL, we just had 40 inches of snow fall in a week, and I trend toward warmer activities the moment I delve into this fantasy world that we all share.
Fo' instance... the moment I open the SL Sports desk back up, we're talking baseball.Tuesday, February 26, 2013

March Madness Events
The month of March is filled with sales, hunts, events, and a lot more. Blackeri & Blackeri Hunts has come together for the month of March to promote sales, deals, and even other creators grid wide!
It's A Mad Mad World Hunt - March 1st - 31st
This is a grid-wide hunt with over 20 creators from all corners of SL. The hunt is a twisted and dark Easter themed/Spring time event, don't expect fluffy bunnies [perhaps in a non-traditional more murderous way]. This is not your mother's hunt, unless she's into the darker side of life! 2L per stop to get the prize.
From Blackeri Mainstore - March 1st - 31st
Within the store bringing all this to you, freebies can be found in the MM Board, Prizes for Picks, and Lucky Chairs. Also sales on older products and older products that have never been released before. This will be clothing, shapes, gestures, and a lot more.
Spring Sales Event - March 20th - 31st
This is a cart sales event that has several companies involved, located on the Blackeri grounds, you can go cart to cart and find incredible deals and introductions to some pretty awesome stores! Clothing to skins you will be able to snag deals on the grounds you may not find in the stores themselves and even exclusives you won't be able to find anywhere else except this event! Prices will vary. We have some awesome creators, Hollyweird, Little Bones, and Celtic Corsets just to name a few of the folks you'll be able to find booths for down here!
Also during this event is a small raffle held to the side for 1000l in cash and a giftcard worth 1000L from Blackeri! Entry fee will be 100L.
Rotten Egg Hunt - March 20th - 31st
A family friendly hunt held during the Spring Sales Event, little purple and black eggs will be hidden amongst the carts and surrounding sales area. 1L per egg will contain things from mesh to non-mesh, boys to girl products, and even some little nuggets of joy for the kiddos! You'll be able to grab a free Easter Basket, scripted to be carried!

Spotlight Feature: A New Jazz Club is in Town: Gringos - Lanai Jarrico Reporting...

Jazz music originated in
the early 1910’s in New Orleans and is a mix of African and European music
traditions. The instruments used to set the tone of this popular genre are wind
instruments like saxophones, trombones and trumpets mixed with piano tunes,
bass guitars and even the banjo. There are other derivatives to Jazz which
include Rhythm and Blues, Rock and Roll, Reggae and some good ol’ fashioned
Funk.
In
Second Life you can find clubs of all genres, but Jazz seems to be one of the
most popular on the grid. I recently interviewed Gringo Miles, a resident that
rezzed on the scene in 2007 and describes himself as an iron fist in a silk glove.
He admits to never winning a popularity contest but can be one of the more
honorable men you may ever meet. He’s straight to the point and handles his own
business. Meet Gringo Miles

From The Desk of Lanai Jarrico
With all the comments good and bad that are submitted to this website. I review them all and publish the ones I see fit based on my vision of The SL Enquirer.
The nasty and absurd comments never get published because I feel it's my responsibility as CEO to keep readers protected from those that feel the need to be negative. I want our readers in a positive mood and keep them from many of the attention seekers and drama queens that like to write comments to undermine, look down upon or otherwise try to discourage people from doing what they love. The SL Enquirer caters to those that come to Second Life to do activities, socialize with others and release their creative energy. For many it has helped them realize hidden talents and enriched their both real life and their second life. For those that abuse it, it causes drama and necessary emotional strain that we can all do without.
Those of you that have positive things to say, have different opinions to share or have ways to help others are always welcomed and encouraged to leave comments, but always remember to think about what you say, give valid reasons, be kind to one another and respect those that choose to spend their time differently than you. Together we can all create a place of harmony despite our differences.
Thank you
Lanai Jarrico

I’ve done it, you’ve
most likely done it, and honestly I really don’t know of too many who haven’t
done it. What is ‘it’ you might be wondering?
Dating is ‘it’!
You roam the grid and
you see it happening all the time, partnerships, engagements, and even people
that have found love beyond the pixel, but all these things began the same way,
dating. I wanted to know about others’ experiences, what they look for, and any
advice that they may be able to provide. What other way to do this than asking
avatars?
I began my journey to
answer these questions by simply asking them. I came up with basic questions for
friends, family, and even strangers to make things more even. I wanted unbiased
answers, things that may not have been told to me by friends and family.
What I asked were the
following:

We see movies about superheroes and wish the world had these costumed champions. We look for good amongst all the challenges in real life. Now, in a time when uncertainty seems to run so rampant; it’s good to know people are still at their best. Just like that, a call for help is answered. The popular sim Second Life continues to be a popular medium for virtual interaction. Once again, The Green Lantern Core of Second Life (SL) has set their sights on another charity project. This time their specific focus is for Community Outreach Programs.
“The Green Lantern Core (GLC) was started in 2004 as a simple Green Lantern fan group and has since evolved into a multi-national public service organization. They are a tightly-knit group of like-minded residents who volunteer time assisting others and helping to make the Second Life experience a positive one for all.”

On February 22nd. I received an event notification that read,
"Ladies and gentlemen allow me to direct your attention to the center stage where you will bear witness to terrifying sights that will haunt you to the day you die....behold the Circus Diabolique and let the nightmare begin”.That was enough to make me dig through my messy inventory and pull out my best clown costume and get ready for the show.
As I continued to read, “Be drawn into the world of the dark circus in this second dance piece by artist Fae varriale and her dance company DiversionzDance, which was created as a vehicle for marrying her love of contemporary dance with a love of creating immersive artwork, Choreography, environment design and costume concept by Fae Varriale”.
By that time, my curiosity was peaked, I went, watched and came away with this to say…

Take a look and listen to this -
Amazing don’t you think? Mantis Oh is one extraordinary avatar not only is he a talented designer of Sci Fi themed prefab dwellings and gadgets and much more, but he is also a magician of music, oh and a really great guy to boot.
For an out of this world experience you want to visit his sim which is home to Hybrid Productions a Techno Record label by DJ Cari Lekebusch (his real life self). You tp into the UFO mother ship come main store where all his original designs, prefab buildings, gadgets, sound devices and much more are available. You can listen to the radio stream while you are there. To get down to the sim itself, you can use the teleporter in the centre of the mother ship or touch the airlock above the north doorway.

It is such a different
and rare topic. Isn't it? Let's get into role-playing (RP for short).
Role-play refers to acting out in a particular character, using
the words and customs of that character, become a mimic. Interesting eh? Keep
in mind that actions which are OOC (Out of character) MUST BE noted in some
way, or not used in this mode of communication this the basic rule.

In ACCEPT, four young women struggle with their sense of self and their place in the world around them. They are united by one thing - their love of dance. ACCEPT follows the journey of these young ladies as they are each uniquely challenged, and as they come together. They learn lessons of tolerance, compassion, and empathy as they come of age as dancers, and as women.
Based on an original concept by IBC's Deyna Broek, ACCEPT is set in our times, features a mix of ballet and modern dance styles, and IBC's signature blending of solo and group-synced performance.
Check out the premiere on February 23 @ 2:30pm SLT at Branwen Arts Theatre
