What is it you can't live without in Second Life? What makes it worth logging in day after day ?  Hmm, ever thought about it? 

 Everyone has their own reasons for logging in, whether it be to have some fun, make some extra cash on the side, or just have a bit of social interaction.  To actually enjoy and reap the benefits of Second Life I've seen time and again someone has to have a reason to log in and make the best of their Second Life, otherwise what is the point?

 I've seen too many new people log in and get bored, leaving the game and missing great experiences and opportunities Second Life has to offer.  When I first started Second Life it was my friends and photography that kept me coming back.  I may have had my hand in a few different things, but it wasn't what I was logging in for.  Times have changed things a bit, but there is still pictures and true friends with me for my journey in this virtual world.

First let’s send away the argument that RL gender does not matter.  Sometimes it may not, but other times it does unmistakably. Motives behind males masquerading as females can be scary enough, or even predatory in nature. Lesbian women in particular struggle with protecting their rights to congregate in a safe environment.  There is an odd and sexually-charged fascination certain men have with women in same-sex relationships.  Lesbian women need the space to fully experience and keep their relationships in a harassment-free environment.

Debi:  I am born and raised in Minnesota. Been on Second Life since Dec 2008. Music was a big part of my family's life whether it be playing an instrument (I played flute lol) to whatever was put on to listen on the stereo. CELEBRATE REMEMBER FIGHT BACK FINAL WEEKEND

MAY 17-18 2014-RELAY dALLIEZ: The Relay Rockers invite everyone to join them on May 17 & 18th for Relay Stock, a multi team Relay For Life of Second Life event open to the first 60 teams to apply.

The event will feature 'Team Sites' around a 60s style festival stage. 

Teams have been invited to bring Kiosks and Vendors, host 2 hour DJ segments on the stage and participate in one the most popular events this year, the Rocker's 2014 Celebrate Remember Fight Back Top DJ Competition.

"We have been fortunate to have participants from many teams in the CRFB Event" said Rockers Co-Founder Trader Whiplash. "RelayStock is our way of saying thank you for the huge support across the grid for our event.  It affords every team the opportunity to share in a super fund raising event."

Nuala Maracas added, "This is just another example of the One Team concept in Relay. It doesn’t matter who's kiosk or vendor the donations land in, after all we are all on the same team in the end."

The event will be held at Relay dAlliez.  Relay dAlliez is dedicated to the memory of Alliez Mysterio, who founded the Relay Rockers team in 2005, with Trader and Nuala. Alliez was lost to breast cancer this past fall.  The sim has been available to any team for events at no cost,  a 10th anniversary gift to Relay from the Relay Rockers in honor of their own 10th Anniversary.

History of Mother's Day (May 11th): How is it observed in SL?

Today is that special day where we honor our mother’s or mum’s in my case. So how did this special day come about? The concept of Mother’s Day in the States is attributed to two different women: Julia Ward Howe and Anna Jarvis. In 1870 Julia Ward Howe called for a special day to encourage pacifism and disarmament among women. This day was held in Boston for about 10 years. In 1907, Anna Jarvis held a private Mother’s Day celebration in memory of her mother in West Virginia. Based on this event, Anna would organize “Mother’s Day Work Clubs” to improve the stability of the area where she lived. Anna would soon launch a state wide, then a nationwide campaign to expand this concept.

Fishing in Second Life-Jessi2009 Warrol Reporting…

There are many things to do in Second Life and apparently one of those things is fishing. Yes fishing, complete with rods, fishing line, boats, and of course fish! 

A really good friend of mine, John, is a fisher in Second Life and he took the time to explain to me the various types of fishing systems from both a fisher and land owner standpoint.

We were standing in the 7Seas Area on Tribute City, which definitely did not smell “fishy”.  As John explained, “Fishing in Second Life is very similar to real life fishing, without having to actually clean the fish. There are many systems available. 7Seas, Neo Realms, Fish Hunt, Magic Fishing, and Star Fishing are the most well-known fishing systems. There is also Evo-Fishing, which I really don’t know much about”.

“Each fishing systems have their own ups and downs”, John continued. “I have fished them all. My personal favorite is Fish Hunt, but I really enjoy hosting 7Seas and Neo-Realms”. We teleported down to the main area of Tribute City, which is fishing central. I noticed buoys, vendors, and what looked like bait barrels.
