From BDSM Exploration to Becoming a Mistress- Becca Drascol Reporting…

When you think BDSM you think hardcore, whips and chains, and a strict Mistress or Master. Don’t you? Well not with this girl.  It was around a year ago when my real life husband and I decided to explore BDSM within our real life marriage as well as in our SL.  Now to best explain how one goes from exploring BDSM to becoming a mistress, I must first relate that my hubby and I are currently living apart but are happily married.  In our separation from each other we chose to revisit playing second life as a way to be closer to each other.  We began to explore the things we liked about BDSM and took those experiences quickly to SL.  It was around this time that my hubby brought up the idea of me being a mistress.  Taking on pets and not slaves.  Slaves being more common in most Domme/Sub relationships.  After a lot of discussion I was quite enthused and aroused by the idea.  I found in our personal exploration that I quite enjoyed the control aspect of domination.  I too enjoyed the type of adoration and love I was receiving from my own husband via our Sub/Domme relationship.  It was very much so not only a new but exciting experience to live, to be called his queen, his mistress and other pet names a sub has for their dominant.  To say the least I was hooked.

Our love and adoration of each other was always and still is a very strong bond.  And yet I feel we were quick to find a rush of sorts in becoming new roles to one another.  We began to live our day to day lives with my husband as my pet, me, his mistress.  It started slow, as role plays and learning what we wanted to do and try.  Learning about BDSM in general as well.  Then we began to branch out and to visit SIMS that were of the BDSM nature.  I had changed my display name to “Mistress Sex Kitten,” a loving pet name from my husband.  And with that small seemingly unimportant change, I was viewed differently within SL.  Those who were deep into their roles as subs would automatically show me a respect that comes with that title of “mistress.”  Some would kneel, others would simply be close and take the time to either admire me, or to message me and say something simple but respectful.  This was of course an upside to this new title I had chosen.  And for a very long while within the first few months or more there was only one small downside I had found to being a mistress within second life.  That being the constant requests to take someone as my slave after only a, “Hello. How are ya?”

Okay so there were some things to feel were nagging and even some that were lacking.  Then we come to what was lacking.  True that my husband and I were indeed exploring our relationship as sub/Domme outside of SL, we had not fully explored it within SL. I did want subs, but not in the form of what I felt was not a good mix for me of a slave and myself mistress, but instead a closer more loving bond of pet and mistress.  A pet being someone I could get to know, care about even.  Be loving and kind with while still within the roles of sub/Domme.  Needless to say my searching was a harder effort than it would seem it needed to be.

I had allowed some to become my pet.  I had explained that I myself was a mistress like no other they would meet and the role they would take on as my pet.  And thus I opened a new part of SL and began to explore this, with my hubby at my side ever so adoringly.  However for each that I took on as pet, each became unhappy for their own reasons.  A part of me felt I had failed.  I felt that perhaps I should have left this “being a mistress,” unexplored within SL.  That perhaps being the softer, loving Domme, I did not fit in and therefore, was making my pets run.  What was a girl to do? I still wished to be Domme, and to have pets.  I still longed to explore all that hubby and I had discussed.  But with no pets I felt lost and even got to the point of being sidetracked to other ventures.

A mistress with no pet, was what?  A girl with a title.  Simply put yes.  I still got the respect of subs as a mistress, still received requests to be someone’s Domme, yes.   For a while I took none on. I was truly discouraged.  Then one day during our role plays, I said to my husband, “Why not be my pet in SL?” His reply wasn’t what one would think.  “I guess so.”  It wasn’t that he did not wish to be my pet.  He wasn’t being defiant as my sub.  I think the idea had not quite set in yet.  We talked.  And after a very open conversation we had come to the conclusion to be one of many things to each other in SL.  And now…him my pet.  This in-world sub/Domme relationship has only heightened our bond, perhaps even strengthened our marriage.

We continue to explore new places that happen to be a BDSM haunt so to speak.  I still have many requests to be the mistress of others.  But this is my story of becoming his mistress and exploring my path to learning as a mistress.  I no longer feel I failed as a mistress, or am a misfit in this world of BDSM.  I have obtained my own comfort amongst this lifestyle and with it my own respect of becoming who I am.

Getting Swept Away at Sweethearts by Ccoursey….

Sweethearts Jazz Club lives up to its name.  Shannon Bramlington and Blake Hambleton run Sweethearts as a business, but with heads in the clouds.  Inspired by her real life dreams Shannon is a true romantic, every column, every perfectly textured table cloth, ever rose placed among the scenery are inspirations of romance.  She and Blake together in SL and RL, set out to make dreams happen.  From budding romances to renewing sparks, Sweethearts Jazz is a stirring environment for romance.

With over five years on the grid and the word of mouth, Sweethearts Jazz is a well-known formal venue.  2013, they swept the avi choice awards with seven nominations they carried home four titles:  Favorite Group, Favorite Jazz Club, Favorite DJ, and Favorite Host.  You may question how one club made such an impression, then you need to visit.  The hosts are friendly, welcoming, and able to keep a comfortable conversation flowing in local chat.  They don’t do this alone, although they are wonderful, I’ve found even at the oddest hours that guests are just as laid back and chatty.  I’ve witnessed avi’s of all ages, new and old, some time and again visiting Sweethearts Jazz.  According to Blake Hambleton this is exactly what Sweethearts Jazz is.

“Sweethearts is the most fun you can have without leaving your chair and the actual room you're in, in the house.  The folks here are down to earth, friendly, ACCEPTING above all and tolerant of others differences and if you're looking for a place to call home....we've always got room for you.”

There is a dress code within Sweethearts: Formal.  However, if you come unprepared there are plenty of options on the sim. From the famous Azul to the enticing Naughty & Nice, shops are as well put together as the club itself.  The shops are elegant with a variety of designs and options.  Shannon Bramlington decorated and built everything with a careful eye on details.

Looking for a place to watch the action, maybe role play with your own sweetheart?  She offers that as well.  On the balcony patio you can find elegant tables set out so you can cam around or conduct your date with a touch of privacy.  Looking for an elegant background for a picture of yourself or a classic couple shot?  She has many hidden angles.  It is amazing what camming around will find you, the moon in the roof was completely unexpected, yet cute surprise.

Another surprise I found was the ability to find the romance everywhere you looked. Red Patton, the dj manager, brings that point to life in her profile.  She found the man of her life, even challenges one to come find their own.  She spared a moment to talk to me and share the secret of finding the awesome dj’s.

“We look for a good voice, great music and a awesome personality that can get along with our guests, and most of all likes to have fun!!”

I asked how she would introduce someone who had never been to Sweethearts.
“I recommend it to them and let them know that it is a very friendly place to be,  the people that come here are very nice, and the staff is awesome always ready to  lend a hand if they can.”
I couldn’t possibly write an article or go to Sweethearts Jazz without meeting another of their most famous personalities, Auntie Lockjaw.  Radiating a fun personality, she was a pleasure to talk with.  As General Manager, she is considered “in the know”, so I asked her as well how one would introduce Sweethearts Jazz.

“Sweethearts is more than a club. It is a home away from home for many of our guests. Here they can relax and listen to music, Chat with friends, or dance.”
I do believe the level of comfort here is equal to that some would feel at their own homes with the way conversation eases from the harsh work week into the discussion of easy music.  Talking to Ty Reeee, that exact sentiment was expressed.

“We are a romantic venue… with a very helpful staff.  We are a PG sim so that the atmosphere is very normal and well controlled… As far as being a new person here if there is any questions they would have, they are more than welcome to ask.  (We) would try very hard to make them feel comfortable and help introduce them so they feel at home.”

Sweethearts is not just a club, nor just a place for romance, it is a place that makes girl’s dreams of winning a pageant, being crowned, being recognized as a Sweetheart among the population happen.  Well known is their Ms. Sweethearts competition.  With over thirty rules, up to a hundred contestants, and plenty of spectators the girls of Sweethearts compete to carry the crown and become the next Ms. Sweetheart.  The Ms. Sweetheart is expected to be a woman of grace, class, poise, and elegance, showing only her best among Second Life during her three month reign.  For over a month women have signed up, displaying their pictures and biographies to be voted on among the guests of Sweethearts Jazz, with Sweetheart days allowing them to compete for small prizes throughout, the amount of general public votes will narrow down to only five.

Voting is expected to wrap up this month, narrowing it down to the final five.  These five will then compete in the final pageant, answering questions before judges and audience of why they would make the best choice to be the next Ms. Sweethearts.  Kennedy Fairlane stepped up to be the current Ms. Sweetheart.  Kennedy was wonderful to talk to when I had the opportunity before; I can understand why she carries the title.  To all the current contestants I wish luck.

Sweethearts Jazz has its many facets, including charity work.  Each year Sweethearts Jazz is involved with at least three charities: The American Alzheimers Association Charity Fundraiser, Relay For Life, and their Parkinson’s Fundraiser.  They also have a competition every year among their hosts and hostesses called Hosting Heroes.  They compete against each other in various hosting activities and the winner/s donate their linden prize to the charity of their choice in Second Life.   This month with a tentative date of January 27th, is the ALZ event which is Creations for Parkinson’s.  With their yearly charity events Sweethearts is looking to make a difference in the lives of the people of Second Life as well as those less fortunate outside of Second Life.

I recommend visiting Sweethearts for the romantic atmosphere, plus at the moment you could make a difference in so many ways to someone.  Voting is open, the Ms. Sweetheart Final Five is close at hand and you could help decide who makes it.  The ALZ should be fun and exciting and it is always a good feeling to do something charitable.

Elita Wardell Parx, 2013 Avi Choice award winning hostess, invites you.
“Welcome to Sweethearts.  I really hope you enjoy your stay with us and please make yourself at home.....if you need anything at all just ask.”

Our Most Embarrassing Moments of Second Life - LadyLoveDr Reporting

We've all had them, that moment when it becomes too late to take something back or reverse time to stop something that had happened.  The timing seems to be perfect but not in your favor.  No matter what the episode is, in one way or another we've all stood at the front of the firing line.  Our faces turn red, we feel our ears get hot, our stomach does flips and we get a little nervous.  I'm talking about that embarrassing event that never happens when we're alone or no one is online that we know.  I roamed Second Life polling crowds of people to see what their most embarrassing moments were.  I enjoyed hearing them so I figured why not share with the readers of the SL Enquirer.

Elsie W:

My most embarrassing moment would have to be when I went to buy a house with friends. I happened to see one off in the distance.  After contemplating all the houses around me, I went to check out the one in the distance I had seen.  I proceeded to teleport my friends in, upon which I noticed it was furnished and some other people inside. I then explained out loud what I was intending to do, what I would change, what was wrong with the colour scheme. After I had chatted endlessly and without limits for a while I found out it was a private house and the other people who I thought were potential buyers were in fact the owners.  Oops!

Kaijah C:

I had just bought a new skin.  I was super excited to put it on and flaunt around in my new look!   After the skin was on, I put on my cool zipper open jeans and went shopping for another hour.    So there I was, painting the town in my new-found skin and favorite outfit, feeling like I was on top of the world!  Then I cammed to look around at some stuff and happen to catch a glimpse of the front of my avatar, i was like what is that? To my surprise, my privates had been hanging out for all to see!  Talk about busting my bubble.

Black W:

My most embarrassing moment in Second Life is when I was talking with someone and they seemed really familiar.  I just couldn't put my finger on it.  Maybe I had spoken with them at another period in our SL lives.  We chatted for quite a while, getting to know each other better.  All of a sudden, my phone rings.  That was my friend on the phone.  As it turns out, I did in fact know him the friend was calling to inform me that I was talking to her husband in SL.  It wasn't my fault but I couldn't help but apologize to her.

Mr R:

I was in the middle of a group event that I couldn't leave and my girlfriend popped on.  She started chatting me up.  Things got a little hot and heavy.  I was going back and forth between the group chat and the private IM with my girlfriend.  I typed in this really hot comment about what I wanted her to do with her mouth and the moment I pressed the ENTER key I realized that I had just send that comment to the group I was in, instead of as a private IM to my girlfriend.

Lady L:

I was spamming groups and land chat, trying to sell some parcels I had.  I teleported to a sandbox to work on a prim that would help me announce my posts.  A few minutes after I landed, an IM popped up and a guy asked how much.  I said "For you, only $1536!"  He asked for how long?  I said "$1536 and you own."  I quickly realized I had teleported to a BDSM sandbox and he was not at all interested in my land, he wanted to buy me to be his slave.  That's what I call sending someone an IM at the perfect time.

NEWS FLASH: Antiochia Inaugural Festivities A Great Hit

From 10 am slt to 10 pm slt, Antiochia hosted SecondLife denizens from all corners of the grid. A long line-up of artists, performers, academics, and students shared their craft and stories with their audiences and, at times, filled the sim to its limits.

But before sharing with you the details of this exciting day, we would like to let you know that two of the artists who helped make last Sunday such a success will be back for repeat performances this Sunday, January 18, in Antiochia’s Forum Valentis: Maximillion Kleene from noon to 1 pm slt, followed by Joaquin Gustav, from 1 pm to 2 pm slt. Come join us to party and have fun with two of SL’s best showmen!

Hours before the events started, the Antiochia team was still working hard to put the last touches to their City and complete the remaining details required to provide tourists with a meaningful experience –such as the 45 notecards describing in detail the various points of interest of Antiochia and relating them to historical places and events.

At 10 am, Sandia Beaumont started the events with a virtuoso visual and musical performance, with her Exuberant Improvisations (literally!) on her double grand piano, artfully set up by her assistant, Alem Theas. She was followed by Georges Kabalan, an Antiochia Scholarships Trust Scholar in real life, who shared his story of being the youngest entrepreneur in Iraq to open and manage a western franchise restaurant (SecondCup), an his dream of coming to study in Canada, where he was accepted into a Master’s program at Royal Roads University, Victoria. He was followed by Antiochia Chief Architect, Alexia Carnell, who shared her vision of building this historical city, and by Antiochia Scholarship Trust representatives Bromo Ivory and AlexOlteanu Unplugged, who talked about AST’s vision of helping students from the Greater Middle East realize their dream of pursuing their post-secondary studies in Canada, and how they plan to use SL as an ideal platform to make this actually come true. For more information on AST, please visit their website, at http://home.antiochiatrust.org, or contact AlexOlteanu Unplugged inworld or in real life by e-mail at alex@antiochiatrust.org.

By the time Maximillion Kleene was rocking the Forum Valentis, we had reached the sim’s limit of 60 visitors and had to raise the ceiling to 70, which was almost reached by the time he sang Cohen’s “Hallelujah!”.

In the afternoon, the crowd moved to the Acropolis Fortress and AST Square, where David Orban gave a thoughtful and highly topical speech on emergent new technologies and the changing nature of both public service and private commercial institutions, and the need for participation and democratic networks of governance to ensure such developments would work for, rather than against, the maintenance and promotion of key values such as equal dignity and respect for all individuals, wherever they may live.  The presentation was videotaped and will soon be available on YouTube for those who did not have the chance to be there “in person”.

He was followed by Joaquin Gustav’s marvelous guitar, then by a fascinating discussion panel and open debate with the audience on the theme of Ten Years of Real Governance in a Virtual World. Stephen Xootfly, a real-life professor at US university, shared his experiences of teaching university-level courses in SL, an Gwyn Llewelyn, a graduate student from Portugal and partner in SLs biggest sim development services company, discussed her views of developing participative structures of governance in virtual environment.

The last five hours were a non-stop party back in the Forum Valentis, where DJ Wally played rock and country for two hours to a hip audience, rock and blues star performer Komuso Tokugawa let his electric guitar speak all the way from Tokyo, and jazz, soul, and blues artist Gweeb delighted his audience with his own songs. The evening ended on a mellow note, with Joaquin Gustav returning for an encore performance under the stars of Antiochia, with Brazilian and Argentinian dances and guitar melodies.

And so, twelve hours after Sandia Beaumont’s first piano notes launched these inaugural festivities, Antiochia went quiet again after a truly successful launch in SecondLife. A special thank you is owed to all artists, academics, volunteers, and architects who made this all possible – and especially the visitors who came to participate in our events and made this day so much fun.

Stay tuned for up-coming events in Antiochia – the adventure is just beginning!

6th Annual Oscar Fashion Photo Contest- January 8-February 22nd- 28,500L in Prizes!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Around the Grid with Harper, the Second Life blog published by Harper Ganesvoort, announces its 6th Annual Oscar Fashion Photo Contest, running from now until February 22, 2015.  Residents of Second Life can once again compete for L$28,500 in prizes, with L$10,000 going to the 1st-place winner.

"I've opened up the competition early this year," Harper said, "since the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences chose to shorten the voting period for the Academy Awards this year.  The Contest normally closes at 12:01  am SLT following the broadcast of the Oscars.  That means that, this year, entrants would only have about 5 weeks to put together a look, photograph it, and do any post-processing work they desired before submissions closed.  So I've chosen to open the groups early to try and equalize out the entry period with previous contest editions.

"Last year's contest was the first in my blog's history with a guaranteed prize fund of nearly L$30,000," Harper continued.  "The actual amount paid out was about L$10,000 more than the guarantee, as there were several entries with two avatars in the shot.  I feel that everyone in the picture deserves to share in the prize fund.

"Last year also saw a huge upswing in the number of men involved in the shot, or as the primary submitter.  Eight men were entered, and five of them placed in the winners' list, including the first prize.  It's easy to forget, in the female-centric fashion world, that men can dress up as well.  Indeed, last year's winner, Jackson Redstar, covered both sides of the equation -- he shot his photo as both the man and the woman!  It was amusing as well as enjoyable to see his vintage-styled photo, and to award it the top honor.

"I hope to see a strong showing from the men again, but I of course wish all entrants the best of luck, and look forward to some great photos again this year."

As always, there will be three placing finishers, as well as four honorable mentions.  First prize is L$10,000; second, L$7,500; and third, L$5,000.  Each honorable mention will receive a prize of L$1,500.  Complete contest rules may be found at the contest announcement at http://harper-ganesvoort.com/2015/01/08/6th-annual-oscar-fashion-photo-contest-announcement/

Urgent News from Carli Chiari Clowes about !Clowes Couture Fashion Show and Charity Auction Cancellation

Due to a boycott by a griefer there will be NO more fashion show and charity auctions at Angel Manor. Things like this are very unfortunate for those who try to come together and help others. We become victims of  attacks and grief by people who use envy, jealousy and slander against us.  They think they have won over those that are trying to do good but not for long. Unfortunately this is Second Life and it contains some nests of crows and snakes. You just have to know how to control the pests.

I am  officially announcing that we are cancelling the !Clowes Couture fashion show on January 19th and everything will be relocated and rescheduled for February 28th

Meanwhile, big news is we will move forward, head held high and my precious name and my reputation is not in the least affected by this griefing.

Stay tuned for more details about the Fashion Show and Charity Auction

NEWS FLASH: Take TIME MACHINE to Grand Opening of the Ancient Byzantine City Of ANTIOCHIA – This Sunday, January 11, 2015, from 10 am slt to 10 pm slt.

We are very happy to invite you to the opening festivities of the Antiochia sim – home of the Antiochia Community of Citizens (or, in its Greek form, "Agora Polis Antiochia").

Antiochia is the virtual platform for a number of organisations and individuals whose main aim is to extend the boundaries of information, communication, and education across both virtual and real words. It aims to become a Knowledge Community spanning Real and SecondLife, by focusing on the key values of Education, Citizenship, Creativity, and Diversity.

Antiochia’s main sponsor is the Antiochia Scholarships Trust, a Canadian non-profit organization helping students from the Greater Middle East to realize their dream of pursuing their university studies in Canada. For more information on AST, please visit its website at: http://home.antiochiatrust.org .  Antiochia’s Chief Architect is SecondLife’s Alexia Carnell, owner of the Time Machine Design Studio and Store and its Landscaper is SL’s Butterfli Summers. The Terraforming and some of the buildings were done by Bagheera Kristan.

The sim itself is creatively modeled after the ancient city of Antiochia on the Orontes (today in Southern Turkey), a multicultural, tolerant and creative city with Phoenician roots, Greek origins, then Roman and Byzantine high points. We have tried to reflect this cultural diversity in our buildings, attractions, and the 44 Information Points you will find throughout the sim. A good starting point is Antiochia’s Info Center, located in the Nymphaeum Plaza, with the following slurl:

The Opening Festivities will last the entire day of Sunday, January 11, 2015, from 10 am slt to 10 pm slt, so people from all time zones can attend one or more events at times convenient for them. You will find a detailed list of all events and their venues' Landmarks below.

We have planned for you a variety of informative, educational, and entertaining events. One of AST’s Middle East students will briefly talk about his dream of studying in Canada; a European expert in leading-edge network science will give the Inaugural AST Lecture; and we will have a panel discussion with questions and answers from the public on Ten Years of Virtual Governance in SecondLife.

The musical events will cover everything from rock, pop, folk, blues, and country to Spanish guitar and even a much-anticipated classical piano concert that will open our entire day, at 10 am slt.

Please feel free to visit the sim and to join our group, Agora Polis Antiochia, so as to stay informed of our future activities and events. You can contact Antiochia’s Project Manager, Alex Olteanu, either in-world by IM-ing his avatar, AlexOlteanu Unplugged, or by e-mail, at alex@antiochiatrust.org;  or the Project Administrator, by IM-ing his SL avatar, Brent Ivory.

We hope that you are just as excited as we are by the events we have planned for you and that you will be able to attend with your friends sometime during this day.
We look forward to seeing you and your friends on Sunday, January 11, 2015, for Antiochia's Opening Festivities.
