Top 5 Places to shop for Spring Fashion- CeciliaRosalie Reporting...
Wednesday, April 20, 2016
CeciliaRosalie Resident, fashion, second life, shopping, spring, spring fashion, The SL Enquirer

Spring is here! It is time to spruce up our wardrobe with new fashion trends and some color.
Wearing the same pieces you
bought last year, especially for women, would be a huge fashion no-no. Designers have been working hard on the latest trends and if you are care about keeping your look updated- It is time to go SHOPPING!
I have to confess. I destroyed my shoes exploring the grid on my quest for the
best places to shop for spring. I'm not complaining. It was really worth it. Here are my top 5 shop list with Slurls and pictures of
must have items! A Feast FOR YOUR EYES <3
1. Entice
Entice has launched a new collection that caters to every
taste. it was a tough decision so I picked two of their designs. The first one is called
downtown jumpsuit. You can get it in four different sets of three different colors each (hud driven).
The second choice is Proud Mary in six different colors.
2. Hilly Haalan
mainstore
Hilly Haalan designs have a great variety of clothes to offer spring shoppers with classic avatars and advanced mesh bodies. There's also an outlet store
with some fabulous deals.
It was a really tough pick! Here are the [hh] Dune Dress Tropical
20 textures in one dress and [hh] Amerie Glam Outfit, a nice cocktail dress with
a stylish spring coat for semi cold nights.
3.
GIZZA CREATIONS
There are no words to
describe Gizza Creations and there's no need as they are the most popular designers on the grid. I picked their new release Jacqueline. Take the time
and go see it!I'm sure you might walk out with a bag full of great outfits.
4.
Prism Designs
Prism Designs do what they promise. They add colors to our lives and our wardrobe..
Spring is the season for flowers. Colorful florals
and playful dot patterns are the best
way to embrace it. I recommend the
Prism Eloise Capris and Top by Journey with Fabric Hud ( four colors),
and prims Prism Marisol Silk Romper by Journey with Fabric Hud (4 colours).
5. ~{Zaara} MAINSTORE~
Last but not least, Zaara creations. They were one of the
first designers to create clothes and lingerie for Maitreya mesh body. Most of
my inventory goodies come from them and I have to confess I couldn't resist. I bought the last pick I got for you. An
etherial dress in 10 colours with patterns and plain.
Happy Spring Shopping

How to Get More Out of Networking Events
Tuesday, April 19, 2016
business, networking, networking events, professional, professionalism, success, tips
No comments
Networking events can often prove to be the
bane of your existence, especially if you feel that they are a waste of your
time. Networking can be incredibly important, however, and if the events you attend
aren’t yielding valuable results, it might be time for a change of tactics.
There are several things that you can do to make the most of networking
parties. Here is how to ensure that you get the outcome you want out of these
events:
Be Prepared
It’s important to arrive on time for
networking events. You can make sure you don’t get lost by finding out about
the venues before you travel - check this weblink for more information. When
you are on time, you will have first access to all the people that you want to
meet early on. This means that you can talk to those who are actually relevant
to your business at the beginning of the evening. This will enable you to relax
for the rest of the night and socialise with your peers.
Make a note of the people that you would like
to meet before you get to the event. This will ensure that you do not waste
time with those who have nothing to do with your area of expertise. You will,
of course, probably end up meeting other people as well but if you get the
important ones out of the way first, you can relax.
Dress
Appropriately
Humans cannot help but size one another up by
their appearance. This is not a tendency that will be going away anytime soon,
either, so it should dictate how you dress
at these events. You should be well dressed and look good. Do not go overboard
or seem as though you are trying too hard, though, as this can turn many people
away. Simply match your outfit to the venue and the atmosphere of the party and
you will be fine. It is also good to wear a statement piece of jewellery or
even nice shoes. This can be an excellent conversation starter when meeting new
people.
Position Yourself
It is a horrible feeling to walk aimlessly
around the room, hoping to chance upon a person who is not already engaged in
conversation. This is why where you position yourself in the room is important.
The ideal place to wait is at the bar. This is because at some time during the
night, everyone will make their way to the bar. This will allow you to casually
begin a conversation with them when they do so.
Be Selective
You may feel the need to give everyone you
meet your business
card. You should not do this. The whole point of networking is to meet
people who can be mutually beneficial to one another. If you hand out your card
to everyone and take everyone else’s in return, your night cannot be considered
successful. After you have chatted with people for a bit, you can size up
whether or not they are relevant to your business. If they are,
offer
them your business card. If they are not, find a way to naturally and politely
end the conversation.
These tips should ensure that you network
much more effectively. You should soon be perceiving such events as
advantageous to you rather than a drag.

It's all about the money - Lacy Muircastle reporting...
Earlier this week my colleague JoyMell reported on the
escort and prostitution scene in Second Life and I was suffering from ‘fomo’. Nah not really. A friend of mine, who just so happens to be a
prostitute is celebrating nine years in Second Life making her one of a select
group of veteran residents.
In real life, Kathrine resides on the East Coast of the USA. A German female friend of hers introduced her to SL and here she is nine years later. In RL she is a test team leader for an R & D company and she loves her garden. She said “SL is a stress reliever for me, let's say a stress diversion. I love to dance and have learnt how to design and create clothes.”
She took to exploring with vigour and within three days she
had a job as a stripper. The lady who
owned the strip club took Kathrine under her wing and so her journey began in earnest. As far as she was concerned it was job just
like everyone else’s. She had to show
up, dance which she enjoyed anyway, and get paid for doing so.
I asked the question I’m sure she’s been asked any number of
times in her time in SL, that being what made her want to be a prostitute in
SL. In a nutshell it’s all about the
money…
Kathrine was the number one dancer at A Touch of Sin from 2009 to the end of 2010. To say that she made significant money during that time would be an understatement. I mean who would sniff at 450 000 L$? All from tips. But then the economy in the USA went to pieces. She stopped stripping and creating clothing and decided to become a prostitute instead. In less than a year she’d made 150 000 L$. Clearly there is always money available for sex, virtual or otherwise.
Kathrine works out of the
Streetwhores sim only. She said “It’s
the owners that make or break your ability to make money, same as in RL.” She doesn’t
have any daddy issues, ghosts of abuse or worse still financial hardship (in
our society the embarrassment of being poor seems to eclipse all of life’s
real, emotional, hard hitting issues) but she’s in this business because she
wants to be.
Her current rate is "1000 L$ for 30 minutes or best offer." She keeps all the money she makes. Her only real cost is the rent of 150 L$ a week for her whore house apartment.
I asked her how she'd describe the connection she has
with her customers. She said “if they
cannot emote, be friendly and talk about him.”
I then asked her what she thought the biggest misconception
about prostitution in SL is. She said “It’s
really just a business. In my case there is no RL physical interaction. So it
becomes entertainment, like in a geisha house.”
Geisha are traditional Japanese female entertainers who act
as hostesses and whose skills include performing various arts such as classical
music, dance, games and conversation, mainly to entertain male customers.
Kathrine said she’d never fallen in love with any of her
customers. She has become good friends with some, but does not have a
boyfriend. She doesn’t do slavery, BDSM,
freebies, webcam or voice.
She’d like to thank her friends from all around the world,
for making her Second Life as enjoyable as it has been and she hopes to continue
making many more friends in the years to come.

Is the world finally waking up to the notion that the food we eat, the politicians we vote for, the news we see and the wars we fight have all been bought and paid for by a bunch of kleptocrats, that we live in a kleptocracy disguised as capitalism?
Is the system we live in basically destroying humanity? And if so, how do we get out of this mess?
This week in GeekSpeak SL we will discuss how the world economy really works and how, or whether, it can be changed.
Will we be reading new 'Panama papers' in 10 years time or will this system collapse? If it does collapse will we have a worldwide disaster or a better model for world finance? Come and discuss the future of your wealth and your well-being.

The Escort/Prostitute Scene in Second Life - Joymell Reporting…
Thursday, April 14, 2016
Joymell, SL, SL Adult Entertainment. Second Life, SL escorts, SL prostitutes
43 comments
Most people think that an escort and a
prostitute are one and the same. You may think
it’s just semantics, but being an escort is a service provided by
beautiful women and handsome men who are hired for entertainment purposes, and a
prostitute is specifically more for fulfilling sexual desires .
There are many adult SIMS in Second Life, with adult entertainment keeping traffic
numbers up in many parts of the virtual
world. These sims generate resources which have inspired some of the most prominent
businesses in SL. They generate numerous
jobs for residents such as DJs, dancers, hosts, escorts and prostitutes…
Many places offer what they term escort services, but they are really pimp
services for prostitutes. The avatar who is interested in acquiring these kinds
of services just simply go to the club, choose the escort (prostitute) they
would like and they pay for his/her services. However, it is not cheap
entertainment. On average, prices are approximately 2000 Linden $ for 20
minutes. Prices might vary depending on the club. Upgraded mesh avatars have
higher escort (prostitute) rates due to their fine appearance.
The nagging question is, why if there are so many free opportunities for an
avatar’s entertainment, why said avatar would choose to pay for an escort/prostitute
service in Second Life? My curiosity made me investigate the prostitution scene
in our virtual world.
I spoke to a couple of avatars who actually have been (or still are)
customers of the clubs/agencies which offer these services. I discovered that, in general, these people do
not have much time to spend online in Second Life. Therefore, they do not have
the time to flirt with others or maintain romantic conversations to try to win
the other’s hearts for a few moments of virtual fun. On the other hand, an
escort/prostitute is always available to negotiate and have fun with.
Another attraction that this kind of job has and which customers rely on,
is that the escorts/prostitutes are very professional and experts in providing
customers any kind of service related to sex and other more specialised ones
such as BDSM, lesbian practices or any other kinky stuff or fantasy or fetish
that can be thought of. The only thing
you’d need to do is ask the escort/prostitute and she or he will gladly do
whatever to fulfill any of your needs without judging you for it.
Clubs have many customers who are willing to spend a lot of Lindens in
exchange for quality services.
This is obviously not everyone’s cup of tea. In talking to some of those who believe that
adult services for fun aren’t their thing, I discovered that they believe that
escorts/prostitutes are not working for their own fun but only to take
advantage of other people’s weaknesses, desires and emotions in exchange for money.
Clearly these services on not for those looking for romance. This group of
people are looking for virtual love, more like a fairy tale, and maybe
something that could come true.
Regardless, the escort/prostitute girls and guys are very successful in this virtual speaking. Many consider this practice as one of then ways to have fun without commitment, and that Second Life and clubs in it offer a variety of services to those interested in alternative employment opportunities.
As for inworld jobs, you can find a great deal for escort/prostitute
service providers. The biggest deals are for sexy girls but also you can find
jobs for men. In general, clubs ask for the following requirements:
- The avatar to be 30 days old or more
- The avatar must be over 18 years in real life
- The avatar should have a slink, mesh body, as well as hands and feet.
- The avatar must be voice verified (some clubs ask for it)
f you’re curious and want to know more about this and other adult content
activities available, visit the Adult-rated areas (providing that you’re 18 or
older.)

Interview with a DJ - Camury Reporting…
Have you ever thought you wanted to be a
master of music, conjurer of sound magic, that is a DJ? I decided to investigate what it takes to be
a DJ in Second Life.
Music makes our virtual world go
round. Listening to music and dancing
are two of the most popular pastimes in SL. Most sims stream in music but it’s
at the dedicated clubs and music venues
that it all really happens.
A good DJ is therefore essential to keep
the crowds entertained and traffic up on the SIM. There are infinite options,
rhythms and music styles for all tastes and enjoyment.
Becoming a DJ in Second Life is not easy
at all. It’s fairly arduous keeping the vibe of a party going and encouraging
people onto the dance floor. It requires
discipline and flexibility with regard to keeping up with schedules. A DJ needs to own the tools of the trade that
would enable them to be professional in what they do.
During my research I came across the Moonlighter's
Club which is a relatively new music club in SL.
The Moonlighters hosts several events
per week. Live DJ's play all kinds of
great
genres. It’s a warm and friendly place
where you could take someone special with you
or make new friends. Everyone is
welcome, regardless of gender or species. So, just come as
you are and bring some Linden $ with you
to have fun with the beautiful dancers at the bar.
I interviewed DJ Aston, one of the
owners of Moonligther´s Club, to learn more about the difficult task of being a
DJ in Second Life.
Camury: What does it takes to be a good DJ in Second
Life?
DJ Aston: Being
able to entertain a crowd and keep them interested making all guests happy
Camury: What is the main skill that a DJ should have?
DJ Aston: A good
ear for music and knowing what to play for the crowd you have.
Camury: What do you like more about being a DJ in SL?
DJ Aston: I love
to entertain and make people happy and i also love music.
Camury: What is the hardest part of being a DJ?
DJ Aston: For me
nothing as i love it and comes natural to me
Camury: What are the music genres that you like?
DJ Aston: I like
all genres I can’t pick any specific ones.
Camury: Name clubs where you’ve worked for before.
DJ Aston: Old
Lar´s naughty twins, Heartlands Club, Escape Club, Moonlighter´s.
Camury: What advice would you give to those who want
to be a DJ?
DJ Aston: Learn to
enjoy music and listen to as many genres as you can.
Camury: What are your plans for the future?
DJ Aston: I have
just opened my own strip club and doing very well love my staff and love music
I am living my dream in SL…
Would
you like to attend a few concerts? Live DJ’s? Good music? Or maybe you just
want a friendly atmosphere with no drama around. So what are you waiting for? Get
off that couch and come dancing at Moonlighter´s Club to DJ Aston’s tunes.

Reading between the lines - Lacy Muircastle reporting...

lacy muircastle, second life, SL, SL Love Matters, SL relationships, SL Romance
No comments
(Opinion piece)
It’s not easy to have a long term relationship in SL, but it
is possible. It boils down to
communication.
There’s no such thing as long term relationships in SL you
say? I beg to differ. It may not be du
jour but I know a number of avatars and their human counterparts who’ve had
significant long term relationships in SL and even those that have gone RL and
led to marriage.
None of us are
untouched by love. It’s a basic human need to be desired and nurtured and
therefore it goes without saying that this rings true in Second Life too. Granted
there are many degrees and standards by which we all live (and love) but it’s
safe to say that we each have an understanding of relationships. They begin
when we connect with another avatar in this instance. But where do they end?
Though not unheard
of, long-term relationships are fairly rare in the virtual world where we’re
less likely to enter into such a hefty commitment. So what do we enter into,
and why? And why do we seeing such a high rate of partner churn?
We often enter into
relationships with a heady and optimistic outlook. We’re in love! Or at the
very least we think we are. Yet we are privy to overlooking the more pragmatic
reasons for commitment, and in those moments of passion and daring we can
overlook the most important factor:
Are we compatible?
There are two ways
to look at it really, but both answers start with the same question. How well
do we know ourselves? If we can fundamentally understand what it is we are
dealing with, we can proceed with honesty and care and we can generally reach a
positive outcome. But we need to know what we are dealing with.
When two people
fall in love and enter a commitment, there needs to be a level of
understanding. Both need to know who the other is and they must know the core
values of both themselves and their prospective partner. If you begin to learn
these things further down the track, the situation can get complicated quickly.
We each have
different backgrounds, different views. We belong to different religions, and
have differing views on politics. We belong to different sports teams (this can
be bigger than you think!), have different kinds of relationships with other
members of our family, and friends.
We need to
understand these things about each other before we continue. When we know
ourselves, we can teach each other, we can begin the wonderful journey of
discovery. And then we are left with two possibilities, we can either be
compatible in our views, or we can differ somewhat in our opinions but agree to
always respect the others ideas. Compatible, or compatibly in agreement.
Key Values
Partnership break
up rates are high. One of the most common reasons is that we get lost in the
‘role’ of our partnership and we lose our identities, but infidelity ranks
highest as the most significant reason partnerships dissolve in SL. Another reason
for partnership dissolution is that we get involved for the wrong reasons, or
we do not significantly understand what it is we’re getting involved with. We
leap before we think, and it is only later that we begin to learn that our core
values are exceedingly incompatible.
The silver lining
is that things can be truly helped by communication.
If we’re honest, and kind, and we talk openly about ourselves and proceed with
love and care, we have a much greater chance of something great coming to
fruition. A good relationship is an agreement between two people. You work out
what works for the two of you — and it’s always different — and then you stick
to it. It really can be as simple as that. At the end of the day, we can’t know
exactly what will happen and things happen in life that change us. Our views
can shift, and we can react to situations in ways that we never thought
possible. But what we CAN do is be as prepared as possible. Trust our guts. And
communicate.
“The most important thing in
communication is hearing what isn't being said. The art of reading between the
lines is a lifelong quest of the wise.”
― Shannon L. Alder
