Beach Etiquette in Second Life (C) - Stareyes Galaxy Reporting
One of the
great features of Second Life © (SL) is that no matter what the real life (RL)
weather, you can pack a rucksack and go to the beach.
At the many beaches of
SL, it is possible to relax, swim, do watersports, and socialize with friends
or previously unknown avatars. Beaches come in all categories, “G”, “M”, and
“A”, and it may be confusing as to what is expected of a beach visitor at
locations tagged with one category or the other. Stareyes Galaxy trekked some
of the beach resorts to find out what the beach etiquette is and how it is
observed in SL.
I started
with beaches that advertise clothed-only policies. Kona Beach one beautiful
location with surfboarding and big waves in the sea set as a curved beach. I
met Glowdiamond, an ardent sunbather and asked her a few questions.

Paramount Playhouse Presents Night of the Dancing Dead -October 12th Doors open at 6pm SLT
Saturday, October 12th, Paramount Playhouse will premiere their newest show, “Night of the Dancing Dead”, but first... Mitch Triellis, a Chilean singer is at the Paramount to sing for an hour of his mello jazzy style to open for our show at 6pm slt. He is a wonderful singer of Jazz and Swing the old school related to songs that Bobby Darin, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and others made famous.
Join the Paramount Playhouse Players as they will captivate you at 7pm slt, with music, comedy, dancing and rotting skin as they dance the night away! Hope all of the skin doesn't fly into the audience!

Spotlight on Howlers Sunglasses and More!- Lanai Jarrico Reporting...
Howlers opened their doors in April 2013 and have become
popular amongst residents that like the biker style, wearing sunglasses,
leather jackets and cool pendants with intricate designs.
Howlers boasts a two floor accessory shop
located on the Rattlesnake Desert sim; an active biker sim that offers its
residents daily activities. Most of Howlers merchandise is worn by the biker
community that frequent the sim. Visitors comes from near and far for group motorcycle rides and other member
events. Howler prides itself on quality and affordable merchandise ranging in
price from 50L to 599L. They are also a proud member of 55L Thursdays, where
different items are put on sale each week.
Owned and operated by Jasonn Mckeenan, Howlers is
inspired by his own personal style and designs with quality in mind. All items are low scripted so it doesn’t
hinder the performance of the sim. Jasonn also offers a large assortment of
detailed sunglasses in a variety of colors,

Mail Ship (RMS) indicated that she carried mail under contract with the Royal
Mail. It was an Olympic-class ocean liner built at Belfast, Ireland; the
largest vessel of the British shipping company White Star Line's fleet.
SL TOS a storm in a teacup? - Lacy Muircastle reporting ....
Is it all just a storm in a tea cup, or is it far more ominous than that .... Recently much has been written in various blogs and in various forums about the latest changes to the Second Life TOS by Linden Labs and in some cases the reaction to these changes have been to the detriment of the Second Life community at large, most notably is the recent resignation of Bryn Oh from the Linden Endowment for the Arts committee. Bryn, who is a brilliant artist and content creator in her own right, but who also has been an advocate for other budding artists and content creators in SL is quoted as saying "After the new TOS came out I had to decide if I still felt comfortable being associated with the LEA, not the members but rather the concept. One thing I do in both first life and Second Life is try to convince artists that they and their art are worth something. You see, artists are quite often taken advantage of. Anyway, long story short I have decided to resign from the
Linden Endowment for the Arts due to the current TOS."

Firing Employees on Second Life©-It's Not Personal, It's Business- Nomad Aries Reporting…
The firing of employees on Second Life© seems to be a law unto itself. There is no set protocol for firing an employee for incompetence or any other offense.
In the real world or at least where I live, there are set laws and procedures
that must be adhered to before and during the process of firing an employee.
Not so , in the virtual world. On Second Life©, the firing of an employee, the
reasons for it and how it is done is strictly up to the owner or manager of a
business. This is surprising to me to be honest. If you are going to run a
business venture on SL or be part of an organization, you will inevitably have
to fire someone at some point in time.

Textcavation has shown her films at the inCINEracion Festival in Brazil, at
FILE in Spain, at the Machinima Expo (where "Wulf and Eadwacer won one of
the four juried awards in Nov. 2012), at MMIF and at the LA NewMedia Filmfest.
Textcavation has also won several prizes at MachinimUWA and Open This End
Challenges.
After seeing Textcavation’s creations on youtube and
reading about her success, it was only natural to track her down for an interview and

What is Second Life™ All About? – Stareyes Galaxy reporting ...
We
all have our reasons for being on Second Life ™ (SL). Some of us are online
24/7, some less frequently, interacting with other avatars, or sitting quietly
in a cozy corner listening to music. Stareyes Galaxy chatted with avatars from
all around the globe asking the deceptively simple question. “What is SL all
about?”
One
of the first avatars I talked with was from Egypt. “Second Life has a special meaning for us Egyptians,” she said –
and then it really dawned on me what that is. Ancient Egyptians preserved the
bodies of the deceased for their journey to the great beyond. Second Life today
of course is concurrent with our real lives (RLs), and The Second Life Enquirer
regularly runs features on the parallelisms between SL and RL. I went to clubs
and other popular spots to get answers, and here is what I was able to find out.
