As families in SL become popular it is important just as in RL to find that perfect family community where you and your family will be happy

However, it is not only the family community kind of homes you are looking for families are also looking for the community spirit also, which can be sometimes hard to find. Here are a few of the family communities I have found in SL which may help you in your search.

Luxury Living Community consists of over 18 sims. We offer many different themes to accommodate the likes of everyone. Family Friendly, Role Play optional. There is also many activities and amenities available for the residents such as Soccer, tennis, spa, bowling, paintball, shopping to name but a few. It is a lovely family community and one think any family would feel happy to live in.

The Hampton's

The South Hampton's is an exclusive gated community with a relaxed and good role play for family and friends. Each houses are different which enables you to find that perfect home for you and your family. With it is a quiet and charming family community I think this could be a perfect place for any family to live.

Fairfield County
The RP history for Fairfield County is:
Fairfield County was the home of many small, unconnected Native American tribes prior to the coming of the Europeans. The Dutch explorer Adriaen Odlef explored coastal region of Fairfield County in the spring and early summer of 1614 in the North American built vessel Damek. The first European settlers of the county, however, were Puritans and Congregationalists from England. Christopher Barnett (1590–1664), one of the founders of the Colony of Fairfield, helped to purchase and charter the towns of within Fairfield County (1639). Barnett is credited as having chosen the name Fairfield. Fairfield is a descriptive name referring to the beauty of their fields.
In 1595 Huenu Drake lost his ship, the San Dulcinea, while exploring the Fairfield County Coast. The Spanish explorer Drake landed about twenty years before Odlef in what is now called Drakes Bay. However the first Spanish settlement in Fairfield County was not established until 1817 when Mission San Quintana Armijo was founded partly in response to the Dutch-built Fort Maris to the north in what is now Sonoma County.”
It is a quiet town and not sure it would be 100% suited for a family with kids who are active but will suit a family just starting out and with the beach close by how could anyone say no to moving here?

Family Roleplaying Communities In Second Life- Nena Dreadlow Reporting.

Family role play has become very popular in Second Life. It seems many residents are seeking to belong to a group and share in fun and activities. The foundation for family role play begins with a bond between couples who wish to expand their families with the addition of babies and extended families members. There are numerous growing families in Second Life and communities catering to their needs.

What is a family Role play community, what things do you do and what are the popular communities in Second Life?

Giano Estates New England Family Sim Community Role Play

Giano Estates is one of the top family role-playing communities in Second Life. Once you enter the sim it is like you're entering a real life town.  Giano Estates has beautiful homes for rent. They offer homes from 2 to 4 bedrooms. The estates also has lots of things to do including going to a Bowling alley, movie theater, a car wash  and shopping at the grocery store.  Residents can role play as a policeman,  postal worker and even  a doctor! Giano Estates has expanded to 9 sims due to family growth.  If you are looking for a place to raise your family, we would suggest touring this wonderful  family rp sim.

Olrich Estates

Once you enter Olrich Estates you will be in the downtown area which has a job bank and Rental office.  The downtown streets are lined with lots of shops, a hospital and gas station.
Olrich Estates also has homes to rent as well as apartments.  As I was walking around I could see people talking, hanging out and family role-playing. It was fun to watch and see how they interact.  There is so much to see and do here. I would recommend that you take a tour. You might even want to make your home here

Belleview Estates

Belleview Estates is a family friendly community.  Upon entering Belleview Estates you will come across the town hall which has a list of houses for rent and even a unemployment board. The estates also offer a Life store, gas station and a adoption agency.  The sim is aso surrounded by water for families who want to raise their children with ocean views. Take a tour today.

Pleasant Hope Estates

Pleasant Hope Estates is where I call home. It is zooby and child friendly. The town hall is the place to go to find out all the information you need about activities, rentals and jobs. The staff is very friendly and helpful.  I love living here because there are lots of things to do. Come see for yourself.

Greensboro Estates

Greenboros Estates is a tree lined community with a beautiful waterfall in the background.  Their motto is “Family is first” and you can tell that they mean it. If you're looking for a quiet place to call home then this might be the place for you. Greenboros Estates even has an adoption agency for couples looking to expand their families.  If you are looking to add to your family then you should check it out. I must say I was very impressed with this community and enjoyed looking around.

There are of many other family role playing sims in second life but these communities stand out to me. I love the fact that you can be part of and raise a family in the same way you would in real life.  It is so wonderful to visit these sims and see in all the things that you can participate in.

If you are looking for a great family friendly place to live then you must check out these locations.

SL Family Role Play- What makes it so popular?- Debby Sharma Reporting...

“The family. We were a strange little band of characters trudging through life sharing diseases and toothpaste, coveting one another’s desserts, hiding shampoo, borrowing money, locking each other out of our rooms, inflicting pain and kissing to heal it in the same instant, loving laughing, defending and trying to figure out the common thread that bound us all together”
~ Erma Bombeck

It took me a while to write this particular article. I thought it was my first writers block. Until now I never thought I could be speechless too. My profound love for my family, my free will to sacrifice for them, my over possessiveness to be protective all the time could never be measured in words.  Well, we all have a family and we all know what it means to be one of the members. Like Robert Brault in his blog said, ‘Family life is a bit like a runny peach pie, not perfect but who is complaining.”
So, why family life is so important even in virtual life? I packed my bags to look for an answer role playing as a 12 year old kid. There are various adoption agencies like NGI, Olrich, Heritage. I stopped by Heritage Adoption Agency.

There were 100s of panels each seeking child, parent, god child, sibling, god parent and adults, all looking for a family. Kimi Ayakashi says to child she might adopt someday soon, “I am a single mom. You do have a dad but I would parent as a single parent. I can't wait to find my little one. I will be there for you. I do want a child who understands parent's also need a break and do business as well. I really want to have family life and be as interactive and hands on as possible. Together I want to create a cosy home that is a safe haven for my children to be themselves and be loved. I think children should be free to create and explore but with boundaries created by a loving parent.”

There was another family looking for a child, Jaiden and Brynne. where Jaiden Abbey Lennox is the mom, Brynne Isabelle Sinclaire is the daughter,  Starleigh Reese Sinclaire is Brynne's little one. Jaiden says her idea of fun, “Anything as long as we are having fun as a family! I enjoy games such as greedy or parcheesi, movie nights and just spending time together in general. It doesn't matter to me as long as you are spending time with those you care about. Greedy, drawing on mom’ walls, twerking everywhere or even stealing food is allowed.” She continues, “I do want to stress that I am looking for forever family. I want someone that is going to want to be there next week, next month and a year from now. The perfect fit is a must. ♥ I do the SL Facebook and Plurk stuff. I love skype and voice! I am also alright with communication outside of SL. And I am a huuuuge gaming nerd. So if you would like to play other games I am all for that too! I play LoL, WoW and lots of L4D2. Zombies!” Laughs. “Forever's a big deal for us.  I play League with mom sometimes, and we'd love you to join!  I'm a bit of a goofball, it's just my personality.  We need someone who can offset my crazy but still be crazy!” LilyChu, is about 12 years old, says “I'd like a family who is active. Not just online, but I'd love to have moments where we can all come together and hand out as a family. Though, I do understand some parents are busy, and that's fine too, as long as I am not forgotten.”

Virtual families are not bound by blood but trust, love and faith. Britney von Prague says, “It’s the connection and the closeness that virtual families are famous. I am into SL families because for me it is something I have lost in the real world. I consider my SL family as my RL family. My mom is awesome, she is someone that never quits working on something. My dad is someone who makes sure you laugh. My siblings are a blend of everything. Most of all my family is nuts.” She laughs and continues, “It’s been a year, a first for me. If I count right, this is my 7th. Ever since we became a family, we say it was fate that brought us together.” When asked what she likes to do, she says, “I like to eat sugar and color on people. I have tried school in SL, nothing ever fit for me. There was one school I loved, but it shutdown. It was Cloverdale. I know a lot of people hated it, but I loved it. I was the President for the Elementary and on the cheer team. Now days, most of the time we stand around and chat or we play board games. At one year celebrations we are going to Disney in Second Life.”
It is amazing to see people from different parts of the world come together to look for someone to love and be loved. There can be two logical answers for virtual family’s existence, one is the absence of a proper one in real life and the second is to share the experiences of virtual reality together.  If some do not have a family in Virtual Reality, they have friends. Few residents role play with real people as their children and others sort for prim babies. Even though many sellers are selling prim babies to care for; it still gets boring after some time. Taking care of new born prim babies could be considered for the initial role play stage of parenthood. To see ones child growing up is a great happiness in real life. Like in real life, Second Life provides so many other activities which aid well with family role plays.

There are many schools for school role play, amusement parks etc. One of the school, I visited is the Sunstrider Valley Elementary and High School. The Landmark is http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Sunstrider%20Valley/126/77/21. It is helping kids excel in the community and in education. There is a new sports centre, a grand school building with amazing features and lots of fun. The school has great features like football, soccer, swimming pool, baseball, basketball, ice hockey, ballet studio, library & computer lab, auditorium theatre and gymnasium and fully working bathrooms with Life-Hud options.
To enhance the family role play imitating it like a real life community, few Estate owners are taking extra steps to provide a community for all. One such is the Misthaven Estates, with 11 connected sims. A PG community with family homes, school, mall, clubs. A train system connecting all the places, drivable streets, starlight cinema theatre, bowling alley, mini golf, arcade games and camping ground right on the Kid Grid. There are others like the Olrich City, Downtown Shopping District, Pleasant Hope Estates, Masoma County Residential Living Community, Almsteadt Estates and others.

If there is a perfect fit, then why not opt for the choice of having a family virtually. It is said, bigger the better. It is better to be one of the loving members and go through the ordeal every day than to explore the lands and deserted towns alone in a virtual kingdom. Like Lisa Weeden said, “Being a family means you are part of something wonderful. It means you will love and be loved for the rest of your life”.

The Mother of Baby Products Trace Corbets- Piers Diesel Reporting...

With this past Mother’s day now behind us, the baby products industry in Second Life is still as competitive as in any business in Second Life.

SLE set its sights on what the parents in Second Life want and need to make sure they have a complete parenting experience and how they keep their little ones happy.

Many of us have heard  GOOCCI GOO and are aware that it is one of the leading baby brand names in Second Life but we do not know much about the creator Trace Coberts.
Trace has worked hard in building her business to what it is today and SLE thought it was time to shine our spotlight and find out a bit more about her . This interview is not only for our readers but also for her loyal customers who have supported her and have helped Trace’s business grow.

The SL Experience through My Friend's Eyes - Shon Charisma reporting...

Every resident of Second Life experiences it differently. It's the beauty of the sluniverse, a vast place full of wonderful, engaging, unique goings on. AND the ability to create the life and space and places you might want to be a part of. My experience has been a fully-lived one that has brought me closer to my faith, that has expanded my family (even into first life), that has helped me recapture my love of video and storytelling, that has educated me on research interests of mine (race, online spaces, and identity), and that has brought me my wonderfully-awesome SL mate (love you, Earth!).

Recently, I snagged a dear friend of mine, Sweetz Fierenza [check her out on Facebook], and talked to her about her experiences in-world. She's been in-world a year longer than me, 4.5 years, and that time has shown that many of the experiences found in-world mirror what's experienced in first life.

PRIM BABIES- Virtual Pregnancy thru Childbirth- Jessii Warrol Reporting…

As Mother’s Day is fast approaching in the States, if you are in Second Life, you might be asking if or how you can become a mother in Second Life. There are various ways to become a mother, you can give “birth” or even “adopt” prim based children or kid avatars.

I decided to get together a group of moms in Second Life, in order to find out what exactly is the process of becoming a mum (mom if you are on the other side of the pond) in Second Life.  I later would dub this group the “mummy panel”.
