It creates the mood for the season. We often see twinkling lights, mistletoe, candy canes, stockings, and the traditional Christmas trees adorned with ornaments. How we decorate says a lot about how into the season we really are. You can go all out decorating everything, or you can keep it simple. There is something for everyone.

We cannot predict what will happen, but we can share what is going on with the community. Your news, events and feedback are important. It helps us improve your reading experience as well as keep many informed about new products, services, events, concerts, fashion shows, sales, job opportunities and other topics pertaining to Second Life © culture .

Reflecting back at the last twelve months things are looking great as stats are on a steady increase. Visitors are averaging over 10,500 a month and archives contain over 1,500 news stories and spotlight features. We also relocated to EGOISME, created new media partnerships and overall had a blast bringing you the latest virtual world news and entertainment from a variety of trusted media sources.

"Do I remember my first concert at JLC Live?" asked Saintess Larnia incredulously.  She continued "Absolutely I do, Jay Hurikan owner of Virtual Music Services gave me my first break.  It was mainly acoustic musicians and lots of regular performances.  I had totally planned to sing in Second Life - that was my reason for coming here. My music career here is 100% supported by various people and without them; my career wouldn’t be the same. The teams that help me are my manager Lingual Markus, my assistants Teagan Sapphire. Owen Landar & Tilly Morgath. The massive support from my fan group, Saintess Souls who come to many gigs of mine sometimes twice in the same day! It can be very stressful to manage yourself alone. Notices have to be sent to music groups, gigs to be booked and audience to welcome. Assistants attend every gig and give a warm welcome to each member of the audience. I have managed myself in the beginning and it was hard so now I am so grateful to have such a well organised team these days.

Reporting Live On The Scene at EGOISME General Hospital- Marriellaanna Resident Reporting...

 

It had been a quiet night, there was nothing happening, no celebrities being smuggled in through the Hospitals backdoors for rehab, coated head bent low in shame and fear of discovery.  Not so much as a scrape or bump from the general population of SL city. Just another night,  like so many before.

THEN, it came, the sudden shrill of a banshee wail which shredded the peace and composure around me as the vibrant flash of approaching sirens screamed into the stillness,  the vibrant flash of lights illuminating the sky as if I was in the midst of an alien invasion and alerting the world to a crisis of global proportion.

 The cries of ‘Medic’ hit the air with a frantic urgency amongst the ensuing onslaught of paramedics, Drs and nurses which suddenly appeared,  throwing open the doors of the Egoisme General Hospital. Their faces were taut with fear and anticipation. It was clear, something desperate was happening as the hordes of medics around me suddenly swung into well-rehearsed and orchestrated practice. Moving like one, each a tiny cog In a machine that instantly functioned as a well oiled mechanism.

 The doors to the Egoisme General Hospital flew wide open, the gurney was pulled through in preparation, In the confusion, I struggled to see the face of the woman that lay prone on the hard and shiny plastic surface, screaming with agony, her face contorted, twisted into unrecognisable features, pulled from the ambulance with accelerated speed. Through the blur of movement all around me, I heard the words shouted ‘Lanai Jarrico’ female...and then a pause for the fateful diagnosis - the fateful diagnosis ‘Twinkie overdose’ A doctor carefully lubricated a latex gloved hand, snapping the cuff with a sharp snap, his eyes awash with terror.. “I’m going in..We need to act now or we’ll lose her. Lube me up.”

Pathmaker Campbell-MacGregor is a visionary and somebody who believes in making his dreams come true.

  Pathmaker does so through sheer tenacity and hard work and has had a long cherished idea of creating a theatre to put on plays and performances for the audiences of sl.  The end result of this determination and effort and after many months of planning and finally getting together his first rate team, is that he has come up with an incredible show to both titillate, tantalise tease and torment and I was privileged enough to be invited to attend the final rehearsals ahead of the grand opening on Sunday, December 2^nd at 10 am.

Aware that Paths shows are somewhat ‘racy’ I posed my first question to him somewhat warily.

Mariella:  Path, What sort of entertainment can people expect when they come to one of your shows?

PATH: When people come to Paramount Playhouse, they'll see tasteful yet erotic performances by beautiful, talented ladies and of course our fabulous male lead, mixed with more light-hearted comedic acts similar to what you'd find in Vaudeville. Our sets are elaborate, the music carefully selected to fit the scenes, the costumes are fabulous and the theatre itself has an intimate 1930's Art Deco feel that is both warm and welcoming. We’ve worked very hard to create an ‘atmosphere’ so that people attending can be immersed in the overall experience. It’s not just ‘another’ show, it’s very professional, classy entertainment and yes, it’s a bit saucy, but that all adds to the fun.

Ballet Pixelle® will present it's holiday program "The Nut" opening December 2, 2012.

Ballet Pixelle® performs its version of the Nutcracker ("The Nut") for the sixth year this holiday season. "The Nut" is Ballet Pixelle's essence of The Nutcracker so you can see just the wonderful, and truly original, dances.

Does Clara become the Princess to her Nutcracker as he becomes the Prince of her dreams? We see mysterious dances in the white castle. Arabian dancers fly in on magic carpets. A Russian Cossack stamps out a dance. Russian dolls roll and play. Chinese empresses and emperors and move on delicate feet and Spanish senoritas and senoras throw themselves flamboyantly. A field of flowers waltz together. And even snowflakes dance!

Join us for an evening of classic, and yet new, holiday delights.

Performances are Wednesdays at 2:00 pm and Sundays at 5:00 pm SLT throughout December and part of January in the Ballet Pixelle Theatre.

Spotlight on The Ohio State Buckeyes Club

Sport is a unifying element no matter where in the world you are from, certainly when it comes to nations competing against one another, on the other hand it also creates great rivalries particularly between the likes of the American Football leagues and their various clubs.  This rivalry spawns avid fans, no more so than Brutus Buckeye (aka Franklin Underwood).

Brutus is just such a fan and in particular of the Ohio State Buckeyes.  Being the avid fan that he is he has created an Ohio State Buckeye Group Inworld.

I touched base with Brutus to gain a little more insight into this fan of all fans.
