What's Hot this Season for Your Spring Wardrobe- Ceciliarosalie Reporting…

Spring is coming to an end but it doesn’t mean you can’t shop for things that you can carry over to Summer! This season, clothing and jewelry creations seem to have taken a cue from nature. This spring there was a move toward the cooler and softer side of the color spectrum. An eclectic, ethereal mix of understated brights, pale pastels and nature-like neutrals drawn from daydreams of simpler times. Remembrances of retro delights, folkloric and floral art, and the magical worlds of tropical landscapes restore a sense of well-being as we head to the summer.

I went window shopping because I want to renew my wardrobe. I have highlighted for you some of the creations that follow this year’s spring trends. It is just a feast for your eyes so keep on reading!

My first stop was at **Asteria Creations** main store where I noticed these two wonderful clothing sets, Asia Mesh Dress and Destiny Mesh Long Skirt with matching mesh blouse.

Two more goodies come from **MOREA STYLE**, KERY -FLOWERS BORDDEAUX which is a partial mesh and Sunny Mesh Dress.

Next on my list follows the Stila Jumpsuit from A Piece of Chic and a Garden Romper from LUXE Paris Fashion House from left to right.

Lastly, let me recommend a collection of flat shoes and handbags.
BAGS: Hilly Haalan Fashions - [hh] Evie Bag ''Leather Pack'' and [hh] Evie Bag ''Patterns Pack''

SHOES: Florida flat sandals for Slink flat feet and Lacey set for Slink high, Maitreya, Belleza, TMP and JD mesh feet.

2) Just Design - Lacey set for Slink high, Maitreya, Belleza, TMP and JD mesh feet http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Love/93/35/1501

An Update Report on Second Life 2.0: Anything new happening with that?-Ceciliarosalie Reporting...

Recently I went back in time visiting SL’s historical locations in Second Life and marveled at our past. This time I researched what the future of Second Life might be with Second Life 2.0 on the minds of residents who wonder what will become of our current virtual world.
Early in 2014 we heard the first rumors about a “new second life” that LL was working on, since then residents started talking more about this new project. I have to admit that my overall impression was that most residents have mixed feelings about this undertaking.
The dates are set with beta starting late this summer and the final release in 2016. My personal opinion is that this new platform will resemble the already existing open sim ones. We have no information on avatar’s architecture but if you ask me, I don’t think it will be much different from current SL’s starter avatar.
I think LL’s personal goal is to bring back those who have tried SL before and they didn’t stay. The next generation platform, and not SL 2.0, as they prefer to call it will first be revealed to alpha users who know maya and later more and more people will be invited as it will become easier to use.
This new platform is supposed to offer greater possibilities to builders and creators and it will also support tools like blender and more. It will  be mobile compatible from the beginning and more powerful which literally means less lag and the ability to host events for thousands.
According to official claims, the next generation platform is not an ancestor of our virtual world and will not be exactly one, but there will be the ability to build  within the new environment and additionally it will be targeted at age 13+.

FAQ about SL 2.0

Will SL close down?
Definitely not. Linden Labs will continue to improve and support second life even when the new platform is out. The two projects will run in parallel and users should be able to go back and forth.
What about the compatibility with Secondlife contents?
Complete backward compatibility is not LL’s absolute outset, but certain things, such as our identities, friends list, several objects (most likely mesh) and our balances will be transportable. Keep in mind that transportation will be possible from the “old world” to the “new” one and not backwards.
In conclusion, it is obvious that we won’t need a migration plan in the near future, in fact, It could be years before we take the next step and to use this new thing instead of SL.
Dear readers don’t hold your breath, let’s see what happens and cross that bridge when we get there.

Touring Historical Landmarks in SL- CeciliaRosalie Reporting…

I’ve been in Second Life for three years  and recently felt an impulse to research second life’s  historical regions. In this article we are going to travel back in time to the first years of SL. If I was asked to give a different tittle to this topic, It would be “A virtual nostos”.
My main resource for this task was the SL’s historical museum, which provided me with valuable information.

Second life  opened its doors to the first residents in 2002-2003.  It was named LindenWorld and then it was renamed to Second Life. At this time the grid was made up of 16 regions. Da boom, the first sim created. For most it holds a reference to the Big Bang theory conception of the virtual world. Da boom is a nice water front area with a lot to see and discover. I personally enjoyed the view of the marina and Lindens Playground. http://slurl.com/secondlife/Da%20Boom/128/128/2

As I mentioned the first second life resident, I was curious to see her first home.  This lovely mansion was originally built by Steller Sunshine way back during the Alpha (early, early testing) days of Second Life.

All other builds created during Alpha were deleted except for the Mansion and another build by Steller which was a cabin, her first home; The mansion which resides in Clementina, was given by Steller to the Linden's to preserve it for the cross over from Alpha to Beta testing. The mansion was home to Steller through-out the Alpha testing phases, and was the location for many of the first parties in Second Life and other memorable events. With its beautiful view, great architecture, fantastic use of prims, and friendly environment, this mansion still stands as one of the great historical builds in Second Life. You can visit it here http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Clementina/189/122/62

The Ivory Tower of Primitives at Natoma, is anoher historical locations. It is actually a library where you can find out more about SL’s building system. Useful tutorials and building lessons will give you a start if you are interested in building. Of course today we build with mesh so prims seem a bit obsolete but primitives were the raw material our virtual world was once built on so anyone who would like to start learning the basics in creating stuff should start from there. http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Natoma/204/166/28

Moving on my journey to SL’s historical locations I stopped by Abbotts Airport, which is the oldest of its kind and well-known of the high-quality planes and other aircrafts.  It is a safe place for new comers to visit after the welcome area. http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Abbotts/96/212/27

My next stop was the first freebie shop on the grid since 2004. YadNi s Junkyard is a paradise for newbies, it offer a variety of high-quality stuff from clothes to weapons. They also have a free learning area for new residents who want to make their first steps. http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Leda/214/25/53

I’ve been running around many historical places until this final presentation. During my journey I always had a feeling that something is missing… and then … It was there, A Castle.  Blackmoor Castle’s construction started in early September 04’ and is still on going. Research was performed on various RL castles. Blackmoor draws some exterior influences from Cinderella's Disney World Castle. So, Let the fairy tale journey begin!!! http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Stillman/27/191/59

I hope you enjoyed your tour of historical destinations in Second Life. Learning the history behind Second Life and being able to go back in time and see how things once where gives us a better perspective of how far we have come in the virtual world.

What's Hot in the Breedables Trade for Spring- CeciliaRosalie Reporting…

Since I discovered my passion for writing, SLE has been my home. Most of the subjects I usually cover are about fashion and styling but this time I’ll grab the opportunity to write about something different. Breedable animals in SL have made a breakthrough. They have become  a spare time activity and a fun way to earn a living. The first kind of breedable I remember is the amaretto horses but since then there have been several new kinds of breedable animals discoveries in Second Life.

As I firstly mentioned horses, let me present you the ABC horses. There are several things that make these horses a bit different than any other breedable in Second Life. They look and act a lot like real life horses do. When you first start breeding you get a FREE starter pack, after you have registered to their database. Each horse will live until it reaches 140 days, after that period of time they can be kept as a pet, sent to heaven ranch for points or it can be shot.

Keep in mind that these pets do not need food. Starter horses are more like tools, despite the fact that the look like a horse, walk like a horse etc, they are just tools. Starter Horses will be used to get information from the gene pool. The most amazing for me is that there are no bundles, what you get is alive newborn foals, which they have to stay near to their mother for a short period of time. Apart from the usual traits (coats, manes, eyes or tails) there are others also, which can be passed on too, such as speed. If you are not fancy of the breeding process don’t worry, you can train your horse and teach different skills like pull, speed or vitality and take part in racing competitions.

As for their food, coastal hay is to be used for the horse’s basic needs, alfalfa is to be used for breeding, to sustain a pregnant or a nursing mother and for training the pull skill. Feed is to be used for training any other racing skill except pull.

There are also several consumables which will give a boost to their stats.
ABC horses have built a really strong market, they organize daily auctions in their own auction houses and last but not least there are many places where you can buy or sell horses. More info and pricing can be found here: http://www.awesomebreedcreations.com/index.html

Next I will cover zooby breedable lemurs. Zooby takes the lead once again with this unique breedables. Start off with buying your starter pack with everything you need to breed your lemurs. Starters and newborns come in a den and they’ll stay like that until you wake them up through their menu. They will start breeding once their hover text is yellow and in full heat.
You can choose pet food or breedable food. A lemur can be turned into a pet at any time except if they are pregnant and again they can breed again with a simple click. Keep in mind that it takes seven days until a pet lemur can breed again. Additional consumables to boost stats can be purchased at zooby main store too.

When lemurs are rezzed on land they randomly dig and they might discover glowing white stones which you can click on in order to  reveal what they are. Glowing stones can be either gems or junk. Gems come in primary colors and white, you can mix and match gems to play the lemur gem game.

The diamond gem is the most valuable as it contains a special trait. Once assigned, this trait can be passed on. Lemurs like any other breedable animal have a variety of traits in their genetics. What fascinating about  these animals is that they can be fully customized to your taste as there's a huge variety of accessories to choose from.

At any point you can send a lemur or a den to the Sanctuary to receive Sanctuary points which can be redeemed for lemur items at the store. It is a growing market and good investment as it is the first of its kind. There are also many advertising groups and auctions! Details can be found here: http://www.zoobys.com/breedable/lemurs/guide#subContent_2J

I chose to conclude this article with an animal that isn’t of this world for the fantasy lovers. Mossms are little funny space creatures that have come to Earth in order to gather certain resources that are in short supply on their planet. In order to mate they’ll need to return in space but mossms have to work to pay their own expenses. Each newborn mossm possesses general genetics from its parents and the planet they were born on,  but keep in mind space exploration may cause genetic anomalies, which may result in a different and unique breed. These animals are alive, they can recognize you and other avatars, you are visible to them and they can interact with both avies and other mossms.

Mossms can’t mate with family members, feature that I found to be very realistic. When born, mossms are given scientific names are closely associated with their appearance. They work in different environments earn resources, where they can earn resources. These can be exchanged either for babies or used to buy additional environments. Starter pack comes with a nursery environment and one or two adult environments. The best aspect of this breeding game is that thanks to mossms advance technology, what they can do inworld can be done on the web too. Forget land restrictions!

Feeding your mossms is piece of cake. The food is stored in your online account at mossms.com. Just rez the food and that's it, the moment you rez the food your account will be credited for the amount of food you bought. All of your Mossms share the food supply. Your first two mossms don’t require any food at all.

Any additional mossms, including those kept in inventory, will eat ten portions of food per day. If they are not fed beware that they will abandon you and return to space.
As it is said before, the more different a breedable animal is the most buying power it has. You can trade your mossms online on their website or in different inworld locations.

If you are new to breedables in Second Life, take your time and browse the variety . Find what will best suit your time, budget and rp needs.

Fashion Spotlight on Rebecka Ford- CeciliaRosalie Reporting…

Most of my friends and readers of SLE know that I am addicted to fashion. I am one of those people who when I see something I like, I stop others and say “Hi I LOVE the outfit could you tell me where you got it?”
Recently, during my usual shopping spree, I ran into Rebecka Ford (xromanticthug), she is a fashion icon so I couldn’t resist getting details about her and her stylish outfit.

Interview:
CeciliaRosalie: Hello there Rebecka, how are you?

Rebecka Ford (xromanticthug): hello, good, how are you?

CeciliaRosalie: Fine also, you look stunning as always! Would you like to join me for a coffee?

Rebecka Ford (xromanticthug) : So do you, and yes with pleasure!

CeciliaRosalie : So Rebecka, would you like to share some details on this fascinating outfit with our readers?

Rebecka Ford (xromanticthug): I’d love to :D

CeciliaRosalie : What do you like most? Complete sets or mix & match outfits?

Rebecka Ford (xromanticthug): Mix & match outfits allow more creativity I think.

CeciliaRosalie : so is this mix and match?

Rebecka Ford (xromanticthug): yes, I'm wearing 'tie side crop tank' by Dollle, 'amaryllis' shoes by Glamistry, leather pants from Erratic. As for the accessories, black sunglasses from Rowne and a necklace 'the angel key necklace' by Kosh.

CeciliaRosalie: Was it easy to buy each item separately and make them into this outstanding outfit? To be honest I always have a hard time when mixing and matching items.

Rebecka Ford (xromanticthug): Actually, when I shop, I don't have in mind the final outfit. Shopping for me it's getting what I like and only after I start mixing and matching. I think it's easier in this manner to mix everything.

CeciliaRosalie: Supposing you were to name your outfit how would you name it? What do you think makes it fashionable?

Rebecka Ford (xromanticthug): I don't know how different it is, but I think what makes it fashionable is the combination of elegant with a sense of casual. I always try putting comfortable things on, but that can still make me look like I'm ready for anything. As for the name…I would name it Alice in Wonderland since it's nothing like it.

CeciliaRosalie: Thank for these useful stylying tips!!! Ladies will absolutely love them :D
Moving on, I’d like to know what moved you to buy each of these items, Did you considered the color, how good it fits or the cost?

Rebecka Ford (xromanticthug): Everything you've said. But most of the time it's just the impact. I am referring to the first impression. Sometimes I just see something and just feel like taking it, it's like they are just screaming 'take me'. I don't always take time thinking about the color and the way it goes. I even made some mistakes of buying without demo.

CeciliaRosalie: This certainly is not the case. Thank you for sharing your fashion sense.  Rebecka, it was nice meeting you!

Rebecka Ford (xromanticthug): Nice to meet you too!!

Beautifying Treatments in SL. Use your Imagination and Relax.- CeciliaRosalie Reporting...

In the real world, spa days and beautifying treatments are a way to pamper ourselves and just ease tension. In Second Life we can also experience relaxation with a virtual pampering.

My inspiration comes from one morning that was extremely hot and I thought how good and refreshing a spa treatment would feel. I had logged into Second Life and my mind was drawn to SL’s slogan, “your world your imagination.”

That was it ! In the name of virtual reality I wondered what it would be like to have the same pampering amenities as there are in the real world.  It isn’t all about the hands on massages, facials, manicures and pedicures. In avatar form, our minds can use some calming as well.

I started searching for spas in Second Life. I found one place that offered what I was looking for.

Beau Mermaid is the most realistic spa I’ ve ever seen in Second Life. It consists of three floors of amenities. You can tour the facility easily by using the elevator.
On the ground floor you will find: the nail salon for manicures and pedicures.

Next you’ll find a hair salon where you can have your hair styled, including treatments.

Moving on to the 1st floor you will find yourself in the changing rooms one for ladies and one for gentlemen. There you get your towels and robes and yet you can have a quick shower.

Okay okay! You caught me I won’t hide from youJ I really enjoyed myself at the sauna while I was doing this article

There’s also a massage room where you can get group or single virtual massages!
If that isn’t enough to relax and beautify your avatar, Beau Mermaid also offers group yoga classes and Zumba twice a week!

Last but not least there’s a modern fully equipped gym to use for free.
You may be wondering how this is all possible. Just bring your imagination, your friends or even make it a unique date with your significant other!

Have fun!!!!

Color Trends Summer 2014- CecilliaRosalie Reporting

Oh yeah it’s true Summer is in full swing! As fashion never gets old or boring I am here with hot suggestions for this season’s wardrobe. The popular summer colors I am seeing is Pastels and Neutrals!

ü  PASTELS/NEUTRALS:
Designers take a modern twist on the traditional by pairing soft pastels with vivid brights to create a colorful equilibrium. Inspired by a mixture of blooming flowers, travels abroad and strong, confident women, designers use color to refresh, revive and defy conventional wisdom. The greatest thing above all is that because we are so accustomed to seeing them as nature's background, they can be creatively combined with any other color.

AVIE POLL: How has SL affected Your Real Life?- Cecilia Rose Reporting...

With more and more people talking about Second Life, numerous issues have been raised so far. Although some of them are not so worrying, there is one issue which is quite serious and needs to be addressed. Since Second Life can be addictive, in what ways can the "game" affect your life?

Furry Friendly? CeciliaRosalie Reporting...

It is such a different and rare topic. Isn't it? Let's get into role-playing (RP for short).
Role-play refers to acting out in a particular character, using the words and customs of that character, become a mimic. Interesting eh? Keep in mind that actions which are OOC (Out of character) MUST BE noted in some way, or not used in this mode of communication this the basic rule.

Take Your Date to the Movies! About Virtual Cinema- CeciliaRosalie Resident Reporting...

This article shouldn't start in any other way than with this question… What movies are playing?

In real life, going to the Cinema may be one of the most popular activities for couples on dates or just going out with a group of friends, but is there any place for it in our Virtual World?

I had never seen a Cinema in Second Life and I think only a few of my friends have heard of it, even though there are lots of movie theaters available. So, I went to check out some of them. Some gave out free snacks such as popcorn, burritos and soft drinks while others were small and minimal. It seems that most of the movies are in high definition and all you need to watch the movie is QuickTime. (It's a free program you can download) I recommend setting  your environment to midnight for best results.

NOW IT'S SHOW TIME!!!!

Doomsday approaches or does it? - Cecilia Rose Reporting ....

What do avies think about the Mayan's prediction of Doomsday?

Before answering this initial question, it is necessary to focus on some fundamental issues, such as: what the Mayan calendar really is? How does it work and  what is the contribution of modern research on the Prophecy?

1) What is the Mayan Calendar?

The Mayan calendar is a system of calendars used in pre-Columbian Mesoamerica, and in many modern communities in highland Guatemala and in Veracruz, Oaxaca and Chiapas, Mexico.

The essentials of the Maya calendar are based upon a system which had been in common use throughout the region, dating back to at least the 5th century BCE. It shares many aspects with calendars employed by other earlier Mesoamerican civilizations, such as the Zapotec and Olmec, and contemporary or later ones such as the Mixtec and Aztec calendars.

Although the Mesoamerican calendar did not originate with the Maya, their subsequent extensions and refinements of it were the most sophisticated. Along with those of the Aztecs, the Maya calendars are the best-documented and most completely understood.

By the Maya mythological tradition, as documented in Colonial Yucatec accounts and reconstructed from Late Classic and Postclassic inscriptions, the deity Itzamna is frequently credited with bringing the knowledge of the calendar system to the ancestral Maya, along with writing in general and other foundational aspects of Maya culture.
