Fishing in Second Life-Jessi2009 Warrol Reporting…

There are many things to do in Second Life and apparently one of those things is fishing. Yes fishing, complete with rods, fishing line, boats, and of course fish! 

A really good friend of mine, John, is a fisher in Second Life and he took the time to explain to me the various types of fishing systems from both a fisher and land owner standpoint.

We were standing in the 7Seas Area on Tribute City, which definitely did not smell “fishy”.  As John explained, “Fishing in Second Life is very similar to real life fishing, without having to actually clean the fish. There are many systems available. 7Seas, Neo Realms, Fish Hunt, Magic Fishing, and Star Fishing are the most well-known fishing systems. There is also Evo-Fishing, which I really don’t know much about”.

“Each fishing systems have their own ups and downs”, John continued. “I have fished them all. My personal favorite is Fish Hunt, but I really enjoy hosting 7Seas and Neo-Realms”. We teleported down to the main area of Tribute City, which is fishing central. I noticed buoys, vendors, and what looked like bait barrels.

THE WAR OF SECOND LIFE MUSIC TALENT- Lanai Jarrico Reporting…

It has been brought to SLE’s attention that an SL Musician has been at verbal war via Facebook over a comment he made in regards to karaoke singers in Second Life. Freedom of expression is what allows us to speak our minds, particularly on social networks with today’s technology while receiving instant feedback. The only problem is in doing so, it opens the flood gates for others to voice their own opinions and ideas in agreement or against the comments being made.

 This particular incident has caused a verbal war of words between some musicians, Karaoke talents and fans alike who share the same entertainment circuit in the virtual world.

This type of social media friction is threatening what was once a thriving community of various talent who once supported each other in the name of music. Now it seems virtual rock-stardom has gotten to some heads and have shot up their ego way beyond  the atmosphere of rational virtual thinking. Could relationships between entertainers be resolved or will this feud continue and cause a collapse of support for SL music entertainment? Let’s not forget the fans as they are the ones who will ultimately decide.

It’s Cinco De Mayo! Do You Know What it’s Really About?

Cinco De Mayo means the 5^th of May in Spanish and is a national holiday observed in Mexico. It is the anniversary of the Battle of Puebla in which a victory against Napoleon III’s French forces occurred in 1862. 

In Mexico, this day is celebrated with parades and reenactments of the battle. In the United States, Cinco de Mayo is observed with week long festivities including music, dancing and lots of great food!

AVIE POLL: Catching Avies off Guard – Glossom Resident Reporting

What If a stranger contacted you to ask you something that makes no sense? Would you ignore it, reply nonsense back or would you try to understand?  Are second lifers humorous or grumpy? To which side the scale weighs more?

The SLE’s PE (SL Enquirer’s Private Eye) took action on finding the answer to those questions and went around asking avatars some very off tilt questions to see if and how they would respond. The result was simply hilarious.

With a stained reputation and a big label on my forehead saying “Crazy”, I have a feeling of mission accomplished. Today avatars will login to a more confused and hopefully humorous Second Life.

Given the nature of this mission, we will keep the participants names anonymous. Sit back, enjoy and try not to laugh. I challenge you!
