In Second Life you can find an assortment of things to do and many reasons why people choose to be involved. For many it is a pastime and for others it is much more. Behind each avatar is a story to tell, some are made up of series of events that transform the way they live real life and others bring their real life gifts into the virtual world and share them with people from around the world.

What brings me back to Second Life is the inspiration I get from the many different people I meet. The stories ignite something within me that makes me want to be more creative, see things in a new light and helps me find extra meaning and purpose to the things I do here. Writing has always been my passion and it gives me the ability to stand on a virtual soapbox and share it with readers from all walks of life that can somehow relate to the things I’ve seen with my virtual eyes.

I would like to introduce you to Prometheus (prometheusunchained), owner of Prometheus’ Fire Art Gallery. We met a couple of months ago when I was contacted to assist with the promotion of his gallery. While gathered in the lobby with his business partners, he shared something about himself that inspired me to learn more.

On August 15th, 2013 Second Life users were issued a new Terms of Service Agreement upon logging into this virtual world. If you are here, then you accepted the new TOS Agreement License.

It was a crisp, warm, breezy morning when I dropped in Shopping city, a sim-wide Tuscan city that houses Aphrodite Shop goods. The city was minutely bustling with clientele for this time of morning.

Marina was standing, awaiting my arrival as she towered over my virtual being, partially rezzed. She was clad in all black, a dramatic contrast to the Valentine's Day decorum, flora and fauna, and delicious romantic culinary fare. We retrieve a bistro-style table, presumably her creation, and she offers me coffee. I take a sip and snap out of my drowsy stupor, as it was needed to handle this lady-on-the-move. She immediately takes this look of enthusiasm and readiness that I had to honor with the swiftness. So, I obliged and immediately delved into the conversation that I so excitedly looked forward from the moment we had agreed to huddle for a glimpse into her life.

Indie music and the indie underground movement in Second Life, is as popular as it is in Real Life. The three genre of music which dominates the Second Life music scene are:

Tech/dance/trance
Indie
Country

Indie music is a genre of alternative rock that originated in the United Kingdom and the United States in the 1980s. Indie bands in Real Life such as the Artic Monkeys, Babyshambles, Beck, Kasabian and many more can be heard spinning from the DJs in Second Life. However, you will find a lot more underground indie groups which may not have made it main stream but have a good following of fans.

Happy (nearly) birthday to me! Happy (nearly) birth...you get the idea.

After nearly a year in Second Life, I am a changed person. Ever since I rezzed on March the 30^th last year, I've been on a voyage of self discovery and unadulterated pleasure, as well as a smattering of misery thrown in for good measure. In the early days, I was lost. I had absolutely no idea of what to do, where to go or even why I was here. I saw Second Life as a huge 3D chat room where I could make friends and pass the time.
