Interview with Ocean Radio’s Pippa Emmons. In Memory of Epi Emmons: Memorial Cruise September 1, 2012 11:30am slt
Second Life is an amazing place where your imagination is really the key to an amazing adventure. The things you do and the people you meet become a part of your virtual reality, sometimes even becoming part of your real life. I often meet interesting people from around the world that leave a lasting impression on me and Pippa Emmons is one of them.
I contacted her via IM because I saw notice in the Fruit Islands group about a memorial cruise. I wanted to learn more about it. We got to talking and she shared a story with me.
Pippa met Epi Emmons in Second Life and married him in real life. In March , 2011 he surcombed to brain cancer. Today she has made it her mission to keep his memory alive and help the fight against cancer.
On Saturday September 1, guests of the voyage will set sail in honor of Pippa’s beloved husband, Epi. It is a celebrate life of life for him and others being remembered and is only part of a day’s activities.

Second Life is a virtual world that is full of options and sex within Second Life is very popular, there are many escort clubs and the types of services available are endless, from pole dancing, stripping, lap dances and different sexual encounters, all of this is made possible with a variety of animations and pose balls, customers pay the dancers in Linden Dollars through the dancers tip jar.
If a customer wants a private lap dance or escort service then the avatar of his or her choice will lead them to a private room, most rooms are fully equipped with a sex bed, massage table, dance chair, tip jar etc. The session is timed either by the escort or through management and the price depends on how long the customer wants to stay.

Each SL Musician has their own style whether they are doing covers and writing their own tunes or playing requests and interacting with the audience on a stream. Artists can even perform with other musicians, using dual streaming. When you include the many different genres that can be found in Second Life, the music scene definitely has something for everyone; 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Recently while exploring for a spot to chill and take in the atmosphere, I came across a musician by the name of IceCremn Merlin. What grabbed my attention was his name. It made me want to know more about him.

How do you spend your lindens? Would you help a stranger in need?
Often time we take our real lives for granted as we wander around Second Life looking for adventures or an escape from reality, but unfortunately for some who come here, they have needs that none of us would ever know unless they come forward and are willing to share more about themselves.
I personally don't know Roofus or Pan, but they are residents of our virtual world and need our help.
I stumbled upon a venue that is holding a fundraiser concert to raise funds for Roofus and Pan. It is to help raise funds for emergency housing for them and their children.
How can you help?
Could you go a day without a new mesh outfit? New hairstyle or a pair of shoes? Imagine wondering where you will sleep tonight or who will have your back when you are in need?

If this headline didn’t grab your attention, perhaps you could care less that something inside your body could be slowly building up a deep vein thrombosis (DVT) leading to a blood clot in your lungs, heart or brain also known as a pulmonary embolism.
Most people that are aware of these dangers usually associate this threat with travellers on airplanes and even office workers. The risks to Second Life © residents that spend hours upon hours sitting in the same position, are very real and dangerous.
Recently, I interviewed a Second Life © residents that wished to remain anonymous but wanted to share her story in hopes she can save a life and spread awareness to the dangerous many may not be aware of. “Jane’s” ordeal began when she thought she had bumped her leg. Her symptoms were redness, swelling and immense pain. Jane saw her doctor and was immediately rushed by ambulance to the hospital where she was saved from what could have been a very tragic situation.

SL Newser: "Jamm for Genes" Raises Over 300,000 Lindens
Last weekend, the "Jamm for Genes" event raised over 300,000 Lindens.
From 10PM Thursday (Aug 2) to close to Midnight on Sunday evening (Aug 5), live
musicians performed for the Australian charity at three different clubs,
one at a time. On late Thursday, "Lacy's Place" in the Sasha sim
started the action. Just as the events there began to wind down 22 hours
later, at 8PM the musicians at "The Pocket" at Cassandra began playing.Read more here.

GONE FISHING ....
A friend of
mine told me about the fishing craze sweeping through Second Life. Not really being into fishing myself I
thought I would investigate the fishing scene in SL. There have been so many passing fads that
boom and then fade but it appears that fishing is not one of them. It transpires that fishing games have been
with us in SL in various forms for a number of years now and as with everything
it has evolved over that time.

WIN Announces Third Annual International Games Tournament
WARRIOR INSTINCT SIM: WIN owner Cal Quan announced on Sunday night that entries were now being taken for the 2012 International Games boxing tournament, to be held on the sim.
Participating boxers will represent the countries of their choice, and will compete for a grand prize of five thousand lindens, with lesser amounts for second and third places.
The tournament is slated to begin on August 19th, with matches taking place during the regularly scheduled weekly events on the sim. Further details will be forthcoming as the tournament shapes up.
Any boxers interested in taking part should contact Cal Quan.
