I had an
account in Cloud Party when it first started about two years ago. I remember
going over there and getting excited about learning to build mesh items on
Blender, and then importing these over. That joy was short-lived, however, as
it became evident that with the hardware at my disposal, mesh creation was out
of the question. At that beta stage, avatars in Cloud Party were also very
elementary, and although the navigation was not overly difficult, it still had
a learning curve. Things got rapidly better, and at its later stages, Cloud
Party was a serious contender for content delivery, quality 3-D graphics and
art, as well as becoming a platform for socializing in virtual worlds.

Spring fashions this year round still follows a trend, as
always, and so do avid patrons of the industry. However, for the majority of
individuals, it is more about the freedom of expression through the medium of
style and clothing.
The mainstays of fashions seems to be: floral and other
fun patterns, pastels, light fabrics that catches hold of the spring breeze and
allows for "breathing". There is also the mix of jackets, thin
sweaters, and other Fall essentials in spring colours mixed in.
You also include shorts, sandals, and tanks as well to
completely shed any items reflective of the winter past.
Speaking to
friends and total strangers in Second Life about what spring fashion is, views
are varied and personal.

Our 6th year anniversary week starts on
Monday 7th April, 2014.
The
original idea for the Highlands of Scotland were started by Gerald Wylie 7
years ago as an inworld Nessie Hunt Game.
However, on 22 March 2008 he decided there was a wee space for a pub.
This was set up and on Friday 11th April 2008 our official opening
of The Loch Ness Inn (Nessie’s Nook) was celebrated. We have always used Aldouri Castle for this
Second Life Inn although the building has been changed to suit modern day SL.
Although the Sims changed over the years, we have kept
the Warm Highland Welcome. Friendly
Community Feeling and encourage our friends to feel at home with us. We moved to the new sims on 8th
April 2009 and have been there ever since.
The Inn is the perfect ‘local pub’ for most of us and we are looking
forward to our full week of celebrations starting on Monday 7th and
ending on Sunday 13th with our Grand Highland Ball and Anniversary
Ceilidh.

It’s April Fool’s Day! Have you Checked Your Back for a Kick Me Sign?
Tuesday, April 01, 2014
April Fool's Day, humor, jokes, pranks, prankster, second life, The SL Enquirer
No comments
April Fool’s Day is not a national holiday but it is
observed every year by many who like mischief. In Second Life it might be a bit difficult to
play practical jokes on friends unless you have rights to move or modify their
objects or buy cheap little gadgets that blindside your targets and make it
look like they are saying random and embarrassing things in open chat. This
tool could be a riot in the right hands and a griefer attack in the wrong ones.
Other practical jokes include the cruel kind like, “I’m
breaking up with you for your friend” or “Surprise, I’m pregnant!” followed by
a pause for reaction and the ever so cliché “April Fools!”
No matter what it
is you decide to do, make sure it is worth the laugh, a slap or loss of friends
and lovers.
The SL Enquirer kicked off this day a little early in
order to get this published on time. Lanai decided to go undercover and ask
unsuspecting avies some very inappropriate questions for a reaction. Little did
they know SLE was behind it and they
would become April Fool’s Victims for your entertainment.
Here’s what happened.
*Warning, this mischief contains some sexual style questions not suitable for the uptight.

Get Prepared. April Fool’s Day is Tomorrow- Mikile Vinciolo Reporting…
Monday, March 31, 2014
April Fool's Day, culture, holiday, Mikile Vinciolo, pranks, second life, The SL Enquirer
No comments
With March headed to its finale at midnight tonight, I’m
thinking of how quickly this month has past, beginning a new one.
With the arrival of April, we traditionally expect
showers for the entire or the prevalent part of the month. There is also
Easter, celebrating the death and resurrection of the Christian God, which is
symbolic of the winter's departure and the arrival of spring.
April also happens to be the month of April’s Fools.
April’s Fools day is celebrated by some and dreaded by others. It falls on the
first day of the month, a prelude to the joyous nature of spring. It happens
also to be a day for pranksters to revel in their madness and put their best
prank foot forward.
But, for those such as myself that are inquisitive about
the creation of this day, I have discovered that the origins of this day is
highly debatable.
According to Discovery News, there are several tales as
to how April’s Fools day began. One such story began with Pope Gregory XIII
creating a new calendar for adoption. The new calendar ultimately changed the
celebration of the New Year from the first of April to January 1st.
April’s Fools day rooted from pranks being played on
individuals that refused to recognize the new calendar change, by those who
had.
Another variation states that the Roman Empire celebrated
the arrival of the god Attis, on a day labeled Hilaria, or Roman Laughing day.
In India, the equivalent is Holi Day, or the colourful
celebration where revelers are showered with coloured powders, and celebrate
their Hindu beliefs jovially. The Hindu also are known to poke fun at non-Hindu
believers during this festival day.
With this day celebrating the prankster in us all, I
wanted to know how others celebrate the day, and what would be an ideal prank
to play on a family member or friend.
So I asked a series of individuals, "How do you
celebrate April’s Fools day?"

It was Saturday morning March 22, 2014 as I

I was able to get a seek peek of the models behind the scenes.
I examine the gowns, suits, and dresses that were on the mark with the era and
the costumes of the movie released in 2013. The runway room was dark with white
accents brimming the edges. It was very film noir.

According to
Wikipedia, (2014) Role playing is refers to as “taking a role of an existing
character or person and acting it out with a partner taking someone else's
role, often involving different genres of practice”
We have all sometime in our lives, role
played, beginning in childhood when our imagination was running wild. For
example, boys pretending to be superheroes by jumping off of household furniture
and being yelled at by mothers saying, “this is not a playground!” Little girls
may have role played being a princess or even acted out scenarios using Barbies with friends. Role play has
evolved significantly from those times with the rapid expansion of technology
and more adults are participating in creative ways.
Role play in Second Life has a large
community. From vampires, fairies, lycans and furries characters to ancient,
medieval and combat sims where RP residents can actually play whatever
role they would like with their friends from real world history, popular video
game, movie or computer game story lines.
If you have always wanted to RP but do not
know where to go, here is a list of locations in Second Life to explore. Keep
in mind that there are many different genres of role play out there that can be
found using the Second Life search engine.
